I came to Germany in 2008 to do my Bachelors and later did my masters and working for 10 years now. Got my citizenship 5 years ago. Lets say i have to travel a lot due to my work.. If i move out of Germany, it would be only because of insane tax . I expected even a colder or harsher condition but since my expectation was soo low, it was all good.. At my work place, the working language is only German. I knew that before so it was not a hard time when i was thinking from time to time regarding the difficulty.. \nOne thing and most important thing, Even after getting your citizenship in Germany you are not automatically a German. You are just a paper german ( Even though i dont hold other passport ). I knew this before and it was not hard for me but for many immigrants who become german citizens, they will still be seen as an Ausländer .. Thats the reality which will take another decade to change.

You have reduced supply due to harsh rules. If a tenant does not pay rent, they should be arrested for theft. Now, with the current laws, a 1 year lease means a lifetime lease. Who wants to rent for life? Who the hell is the government determining rental increase rates at 2% when inflation was at 7-10%? \nI can get a 1 year lease, and that agreement should be honored, but after that, it should be a free market. \n\nIf a landlord were to charge double, would anyone live there? It would have to be competitive and more people with homes would want to do it. Now most people dont want to due to the rules and this creates the shortage.

If I went to India to live there I would never do such a thing. When you immigrate, you accept the local culture as the main one. Its called compromising. I am from the Balkans. I have been studying, living and working abroad since I was 18. Germany was the 7th country I moved to and the first country ever I felt unwelcomed at work- because of my Balkan origins. I must say I was rather shocked because being a very open, international professional with lots of experience, I thought something of this kind would never be even imaginable. However, outside of my work field I gained many german friends pretty quickly - friends for life ( no competition here, haha). 10 years later, I am still here and the situation changed to better - a lot. A mix of getting trust, learning the language, and getting more international colleagues. I am totally thankful to the health system - they saved my life. If I stayed in my country, I would have had serious health issues. I am thankful to the democracy, freedom of expressing, schooling system( so much better than in my times in Yugoslavia), salaries, and many other things Germany gave me. I am living a good life, best life any of my family members had in generations. I would like to stay here as long as it feels good for me and my family. Having a german father to my kids is however the strongest link to me feeling home in Germany -having a local within your family makes it all a lot easier.

I see a lot of comments which are mostly against the international students and are some racist as well. I can understand the pain of Canadian and i am also a canadian now (immigrant), It is a total mess created by the government where government used international students as the cash cow from past 7-8 Years. Its the fault of both sides but the major culprit is the government. I was a also a new immigrant to canada in 2012 and I thanks alot to the open arms welcome for the immigrants by the canadians but when you put a pinch of salt in food its taste good and its was all good until 2015-16. but the government started putting the full carton of salt in small bowl of soup which made the food bitter now not just for the canadian generation but the immigrants which moved to canada before 2016. I hope in the next coming years things will change for canadians. In the last I would, If someone don't wants to welcome me in his home then I should not enter to his home. we should respect that where ever we should go not just canada, it applies to any part of the world and to everyone.

It is the oddest and dumbest thing to protest in a country you're not even a citizen of. If you are this unhappy that you are protesting, you are supposed to pack your bags and leave. I am a skilled professional and I arrived in Germany a few months ago. Although I managed to find a job in my profession, the government's narrative that they want skilled workers is completely inconsistent. There is no real support for job searching, companies have no real incentives to hire foreigners, and the political parties that dominate public discourse never miss an opportunity to make you feel unwelcome, as if you were stealing something from them. If you're thinking of coming to Germany for high salaries, it's not the place. If you're thinking of coming for a career change or to advance in your career, it's not the place. If you're thinking of coming for the opportunities that the government claims to have for skilled immigrant workers, it's not the place. Honestly, I'm very disappointed with my experience, and I would wholeheartedly suggest not coming here if that's your expectation.

The only thing I would say cause you seem to be very young. Is that brampton actually in the 70's and to early 2000's used to be mostly a white and black community and then other cultures. I am born in Toronto I have a cousin born in Toronto who currently lives in brampton she owns a house in brampton for about 25 years. And is going through a lot mentally with the slamming. We got of people from India mostly in the last 2 years, but it's been going on slowly over 10 years and she's not doing well with the overwhelment of Indians and we're of black Jamaican heritage. So just so you know, brampton used to actually be white and then black was actually the second largest population and everybody else was after that. And then in the last 10 years they started coming but it wasn't in hundreds of thousands and then in the last 2 years it blew up insanely. As that man described is like an invasion. I now live on the West Coast of Canada and the same thing has happened here. And it's been a lot for me Canadian born. I've always grew up with every culture. I've lived and worked around the Indians that used to come here were literally not even on the radar. I mean you see them, but you just they just blended in because most of them had assimilated and were doing their lives. The breed that has come over specifically in the last 2 years is what is making it even worse cause if they acted like the ones who came before 10 -20 -30 years ago. They probably wouldn't stand out, but then again when you bring in almost a million, into all of Canada, they would stand out, but maybe people wouldn't be so agitated, if they had tried to assimilate and be respectful to the other cultures here and that is the number one complaint I hear anytime, I see interviews. Is people saying they don't assimilate? They're very rude to anybody who is not them. They are just interacting with the environment. The way they do at home, Canadians are more quiet and try to be respectful of other cultures. We like to just have their own space and our own peace when they're moving throughout this space and a lot of people describe the energy of the Indians coming in almost evasive into your space and then not really carrying anything about invading ur space. They act like, so what's the big deal if I'm in your space and that has been the number one issue is just the rudeness. Not assimilating and imposing their culture, speaking their language, not attempting to integrate with other cultures showing actually a lot of racism to some of the other cultures. And that has been the biggest problem. So just so you know, cause I can tell you're young. I'm North 40 years old and I can tell you. The demographic change has been so intense everywhere in Canada especially in the last 2 years. That I have even seen podcast with Indian people who have been here 10 -20-30 years, saying the government needs to figure out a way and get a good swath of these people gone because they are. Staining them with a negative brush. Cause I can tell you. It's only in the last 5 years. That I notice Indians. I've grown up around every culture. And I just don't notice individual cultures in that way. Until in 2022, Trudeau took the guard railsl off the foreign worker program and the student Visa working program. And just said Hey, anybody want to come bum rush the door now? And India is known for having middlemen in India that work with Fake Diploma Mills scholls with brampton having over 80 of them that the middlemen work scamming Indians by telling them if they pay anywhere from $5000 all the way up to $50,000 even higher to get fake school acceptance letters, so they can come here to get the word permit and work full-time or with companies that provide fake LMIA job offers on the black market, which is illegal under the I.R.C.C, but that is a thing that they had prior to 2022. And when Trudeau took the guards rails off when it comes the requirements and basically. Made it a free-for-all and as India already had the scamming infrastructure in place that kept their population moderate and it just allowed th scammers to go nuts, so that's why we got mostly Indians. Other cultures do it too, but it's so tiny. It's not noticeable. The Indians already had the infrastructure in place that when they took off the guard rails, it was easy for them to switch and start selling these opportunities to go to these fake schools was over 80 of them in brampton t such a lightening speed. Hence why we got slammed so hard-and-fast with that specific community.That just really we're coming here to work and send money home and that is also why a lot of our banks are now struggling with cash reserved because they're sending money home. This nonsense only happens in Canada, people from every country comes to Canada and demands that the government make changes to suit them, Have you see Canadians doing that in a foreign country they would be charged , thrown in jail , be deported because they are causing corruption for their citizen period.

It’s sad how many foreign workers are taking all the restaurant, security, engineering and gas station/convenience store jobs. It’s annoying to be at Wendy’s, BK, McDonalds, A&W or a gas bar/convenience store and see a group of friends/foreign workers working behind the desk, then all of a sudden change their work jacket from (for example) Wendy’s to a Skip the Dish sweater and deliver the food they just made. That tells me the system is failing or people are getting paid cash under the table. It’s time for these big companies and the government to step in and stop this. There is multiple examples in my smaller city in a daily basis so I can just imagine how often this happens in bigger cities. Mean while local Canadian born and raised people and their kids can’t get jobs. Stop subsidizing these foreign workers at the very least or donor to all of us. That would put a stop to at least have of it.

Why do governments always see things 'in hindsight?' Regular everyday, working Americans and Canadians saw it YEARS AGO that this would happen. You can't let the floodgates open to anyone who wants to go to America, Canada, European Countries, without a PLAN in place to address it. There have to be limits, there has to be a PLAN!!!!! Now, those of us born here are suffering because of it too, not just the immigrants who are sold a bill of goods into believing they are moving to a better life. Change Immigration Laws NOW!!!!!! We pay taxes all our lives in our birth country and we are suffering because of politicians who do nothing but talk, talk, talk.

You were spot on about govt's role and the behaviour of the crowd that has moved in the past few yrs. I have been here for 28+ yrs. I am sad about everything that is happening now. \n\nSad for Canadians and the new generation of students coming with improper planning. Some can't even speak decent English. Some are not interested in studying and getting local degrees. No solid long term plans. \n\nSome of them have no respect for local culture as you mentioned. Rude and unruly behaviour has become a common site in some areas. It is expected that most Canadians will come to detest all that. It's only natural. I can't stand it so how would they, who have never been exposed to that? \n\nDuring Covid, govt let students work FT, they let them come without asking for proof of sufficient funds to support themselves. Because of that, many people brought their families and the spouses were allowed to work as temporary workers. \n\nAll this was to be a temporary arrangement but people moved in droves without considering the possibility of things changing. They figured that between two jobs, however small, a family could survive. Sadly, not true. We already have a crisis at home and this made things even worse for the locals. There are low income families here as well. Things like Covid and the war has affected Canada badly. \n\nGovt failed to make it clear that the lifting of work restrictions for students was a temporary move. People also got carried away. In the end, everything has become a royal mess. As I said, it is a sad situation for both sides.

This is a tough video to watch. It's even more difficult to read the comments. I moved here 4 years ago from California, and Germany is the fifth foreign country in which I have lived and worked. I am undecided about whether or not I would recommend coming here or not. I have just finished a PhD in a German university, and while I don't regret it, I would not repeat the experience. \n\nThe country is simply too behind and too naive (to a near childlike extent) in just about everything. Their vision far exceeds their competence, and they are an antithesis to efficiency and professional accountability. Culturally, I prefer Germany to any other country where I have lived. But professionally, I cannot see myself staying here. No matter how well-intentioned they are, they're not going to change for the better any time soon.

The last few years have also shed a bright light on India's reputation with scam-calling centers etc., too. As it happens more and more in Canada now, with Indians being arrested for it. Canadians now are often viewing Indian men (and I stress the word men) as untrustworthy and $ greedy. \n \nSome Indian students have strong ties to Canadians, not most. I bet the protesters with their signs accusing Canadians as being racist don't have such ties, because if they did they would know its horrible to call one of the most tolerant societies in the world racist. \n \nWhy does Canada have to own missteps and make inspiring changes while India doesn't? Diplomatic relations, but only at Canada's expense? \n \nIf Canada keeps the students will they proceed forward honestly? Or will Canada be letting in a wave of demanders and scammers? You tell me? Heck even Indians who immigrated to Canada decades ago don't trust many Indian newcomers. Western Christian immigrants are not an issue.
