University students who spend 100k+ on education and are in the Canadian system are having problems getting residency, whereas shady people who get here illegally or get residency by immoral do it without much problem. I mean not even illegals but some south asians who are literally scamming and exploiting the system, have no problem and then when you take people from very low income class enter your country and who do uncivilized things you are astonished what else you are expecting a lot of them are uneducated who are not civilized, make your screening process better, if you want immigrants due to labour shortages and slow population increase, try to incorporate students and potential people who have more chances to fit your society. I feel so sad about this new order regarding immigrants. So many of these people have hopes and dreams the same as we do. Basically, everyone in CANADA is or was or is a descendant of Immigrants. I myself went to Canada legally through Person International Airport holding Canadian visa but it took several years for the Immigration Canada to look at my application while people my other country mates were entering Canada illegally, but their case approved and were granted status. I have entered to U.S 8 years ago LEGALLY with my family members and still waiting our case to be heard by judge, court keeps delaying it!!!!!!!!! instead of WAITING here years and years people choose to go to Canada, I cant blame them its open border now

Maybe I missed it, but did they change the international requirement to apply for asylum in the first safe country you enter? Most of the people entering the U.S. and Canada should be immediately returned based on just that one requirement!

It’s so unfair because some people apply legally and spend so much money just to live and work in Canada while this people just enter illegally. Our taxes we pay provides the need of these immigrants.

People overseas from countries like Nigeria fly directly to the US then they travel straight to the US/Canada border and WALLAH they enter Canada without any background check, and WALLAH again they get Canadian citizenship? Of course they feel safe and super secure here in Canada because the govt will provide them everything, food, shelter and the monthly financial allowances. I am just voicing my sentiments here coz it took me 10 years before I am reunited with my family here. I was a nurse back home and in UAE entered here as caregiver. Before get back to my profession, I underwent many struggles and hardship. And still striving to live a comfortable life since everything is expensive now a days and govt seems no care to its citizens. instead, looking after of their world image. And I know a lot of people spending thousand of dollars for student visas to to enter legally here with their family back home financially drown with debts. And Some working visa still waiting for years get their open permit and Permanent res up now.

It is high time Canada should put up electric fences on its borders, easy entry for criminals, terrorists, ...the government can not even feed, house, educate and provide employment to their own Homeless people, why accept Non Canadians. Well educated and skilled immigration applicants find it too diificult to legally migrate to Canada but ???? Assylum seekers too easy to enter Canada!!! This policy encourages people (regularpeople, criminal) ?all around the world try to enter illegally to canada as a refugee, becuase to enter to Canada as a immigrant, you need to spend a lot of money, wait for 3 1/2 to 4 years (if you get 70 points, you will pass otherwise you are rejected), then you need to have money to come here to settle down and find a job (then you need Canadian experinece)...... abd so on. But as a refugee, all expenses is paid, you do not need to pay for rent, and so on... WHICH ONE DO YOU CHOOSE TO ENTER TO CANADA!!!!????

A lot of these immigrants look like nice people, its only the garbage criminals I don't want coming to Canada. But their needs to be a proper process to enter Canada and this seems ridiculous.

This whole situation is untenable. It is devastating to the migrants that have to leave their homes and try to enter either the United States or Canada to apply for asylum. No amount of border protections or treaties or walls will solve the problem. And that problem is the political, economic, and social conditions in their countries of origin. In my opinion, Canada and the United States (more so the United States) need to step up to see if there’s any way to help politically and economically stabilize those so people would not need to leave their homes in search of a better life. Yes, it would cost money… But there would be definite dividends in the future as we would no longer have to invest as much money on our borders. I very much realize not only the complexity of the problems in Latin American countries, but also the complexity of what I am suggesting. But everything we have done so far has been useless, so we need to change our thinking.

I’ve watched the video and I’ve read many comments. My message it’s to immigrants, Canadians & everyone. Just be some patient to read for you to think reasonable after this. I’m sure you’ll start to be reasonable regarding Canada. I had a good life good job & a nice home in Ukraine. Due to the barbarian russian invasion my family & I fled the horrific situation in Kharkiv city. I was driving a mini bus of 4 families! Most are children. We’ve arrived to Europe. Crossing many countries (Poland, Czechia & Austria) we’ve arrived to the country leading the EU. In Poland & Czechia, we’re treat very good by the people. In Austria we got hardly a payed hotel where children could get a rest!!! We still didn’t understand why they don’t want to give us rooms despite we’re paying for our staying!!! In Germany, I believe that the government did its best. But the number of comers is huge! Of course many they got disappointed as happened with me! But I still understand and believe that really the government & people did theirs best. So fast I got a job! The social connection helped to introduce me to the company! But i was not hired, I still to express myself & my qualifications. The manager was understanding, so he accepted to communicate in English and to offer me the job in case if I am successful doing the job during the first week at the site. I had to change the machines menu into English. So the manager was very satisfied with my job and I got that job. The rent! You’ll get it only if you receive the blessing of each member of the county and a very strong social connections! The doctors! To make just a blood work for my son it took 45 days of waiting! To get the doctor appointment, you need that a German guy call and get you the appointment! Because when my wife called, the secretary said: we don’t speak English! But when my wife went for her visit she figured out they’re speaking English better than her!!! My son has an issue of hyperactivity, so they refused to accept him at school more than 3 hours a day! And he was excluded from the birthday parties of his colleagues aswell other events! Other Ukrainian children, they were just attending classes! Just a show! No body cares how help their integration! About, the taxes! The half of my income was going to the government! The money back?! Only 200 euros/ month for my kid. And nothing else. Nothing! To get a neurologist appointment for my son it was necessary to wait 3 months! Prices?! Everything expensive! Technology?! Not better than Canada at all. Bureaucracy, Canada is much less. Banking system, Canada much better. Where in Germany?! The best province in Germany “Munich”. Where people stoped long ago dreaming to purchase a home. Guys, Canada doesn’t through broken people as we were in camps! Where nothing is human there! Canada doesn’t enter you in cercle of hell bureaucracy just to get your kid into school! And if he needs a support he get it right away without any background that he’s not our!!! I got a good job in Canada; so fast. Without any social connections because simply I do not have any. I rent an apartment for my family, without to proof to the landlord that I’m the best guy in the world with a witnessed county about that!!! I want you to be sure, that I am not the lonely case. Just ask Ukrainians stied in Europe for a while before they move recently. Just ask them. I am not saying it’s a paradise or cons don’t exist. Just paradise doesn’t exist! And cons are everywhere. Just I want you to be fair about Canada. Please, be reasonable! The cons in Canada are not catastrophic, and it’s not difficult to fix them. It may take some time, but not difficult. Believe me it’s not about only Canada. The whole world is going a step back! I wish that my experience, helps to understand appropriately.

Boomers are retiring at a rate of over 400,000 people per year. The Zoomer generation is tiny and not entering the workforce to fill in the gaps. Canadians stopped having kids and there won't be workers to support the elderly in their retirement. Gramps in the old age home, with no nursing staff, so he's left in his diaper all day x a million gramps. And nobody feeding the pension plan, so grandma is eating dry cat food.\nImmigration is necessary to keep Canada functional when Canadians are too broke to have kids. Maybe Canada can address cost of living (starter homes/gas/food) for young people so actual families can form?

I do not understand only one thing and thats the Indian people obsession with Canada and USA, I mean going there and letting your parents pay huge amounts of money and selling their lands and breaking their back for your school fees to enter some low level college or university and in the end not even sure if you will succeed. Instead you can go to Europe ( a lot of countries to choose from ) much cheaper or even free in some countries, all you have to do is learn the language (for it to be free) you can have a good life, cheaper and safer than US or Canada and after you graduate you can get a good job with good pay, even get permanent residence or citizenship.But still 99 percent of Indians wanna move to US OR Canada,UK aswell and in some cases Australia.

Well I hope you two young and beautiful ladies stick with Canada. \n\nI will say you might be a little off when you say that in the USA you will be paid more and can become richer. The fact is the US has the highest inequality among wealthy nations. And the worst health care, they place 20 out of 20 in the OECD. So wages and getting rich I disagree with, and cost of goods are on par....however housing is still cheaper and that is a big one. \n\nDue to the massive immigration we are experiencing here (too fast imo) it plays a big factor in health care degradation and wait times etc. The government was slow to respond to the fact when you add 300 000 people a year to Ontario it will require more health care providers. \n\nAnd don't forget it was the taxes my ancestors paid that provided the buildings you now enter for health and school etc. It seems that is seldom thought of by new comers. Are we saying that immigration can't digitally track people entering and leaving canada... don't they scan passports... Also the income and job that people have in canada is linked to SIN, how can that be cheated!!! I think there was a lapse in due diligence from our authorities as well.
