Not everyone is like that in my experience, I'm not from brampton but I'm sikh and I have sikh friends who are white and indigenous as well. You clearly saw that from the interview of the guy and his wife who was an RN, they passed the exam fair and square but I feel like his lack of understanding of the English language didn't get his point across right. The point he missed was the quality of life is higher in Canada, In India it's way easier, the cost of living is way cheaper, there's tons of cheap labour to hire maids for all your house work for example which is common in their culture, but as you've probably seen online, India isn't the cleanest or friendliest place to be, and if he was a nurse in India he would probably be broke without a good job, and having the opportunity to find good high paying jobs in something that Canadians also do when they travel to the US if a position in their field isn't available in whatever local city they grew up in. The main issue stems from international students from like after covid, regardless of country, India is in the spotlight because there's just more indians compared to other countries international students but its all the same stuff, you have kids from all over the world that might not have learned the same cultural practices, fresh 16-18 year olds living alone for the first time that have to do all their own chores and don't even know how to take care of themselves in some cases or do laundry or anything like that and it doesn't mean they were illegal immigrants or anything, just that they never put in the effort to learn because they were too entitled, its the same with entitled kids that go to Korea or Japan from north America as well that don't learn their culture and customs and misbehave because they are too entitled, and once you understand that you can see the bigger picture more clearly instead of just defaulting to racism. Also I'm not saying they can't be frustrated, its frustrating for everyone, even for me but racism isn't the answer.

I ran a business in Canada for 30+ years before retiring. An East Indian never bounced a cheque on me and they always paid on time. It was white people that bounced cheques and tried not to pay their invoices.

The motives of this look racist because when you try hiring white folks the retention rate is extremely low, these past 6 months I have seen 8 employees in managerial positions who quit less than 2 weeks and it's impossible to retain them no matter what salary you offer and then when you go hire an Indian they just don't quit and work harder. But again that's an anecdote, that doesn't mean white folks don't work hard. Everyone has different experiences so stop, putting half baked stuff out on the internet and stop embarrassing yourself. As one gentleman was saying they don't pay taxes... that has no facts, that is only his opinion. Every immigrat i know works two jobs to succeed and pays his or her share of taxes. Some of these individuals interviewed had now knowledge but just opinion. The host should be asking experts not just random people. Sad to see the racist comments both in the video as well as in the comments. There is no doubt that Canada took too many immigrants in the past 5-7 years. The reasons are many - and the blame goes on both the provincial conservatives and federal liberals. The tuition freeze in Ontario caused colleges and universities to treat foreign students as an ATM to balance their budgets. Foreign enrollments skyrocketed, especially in colleges, with students paying top dollar for dubious degrees with no job prospects. This put strains on the job market, and the housing/rental market. As an educated Indian-American who now lives in Canada, it pains me to see my fellow countrymen dominating Uber, Uber Eats, Bicycle food delivery and Tim Hortons. No one uproots everything in their home country and comes all the way for this. Most of these people are here legally and they work really hard. A last word - leaving aside the Khalistan issue that has caused a wedge between Hindus and Sikhs - the Indian diaspora, especially the Sikh, are amazing in the amount of charitable work that they do. Their concept of seva is unmatched. No one goes hungry when there is a Gurdwara around, as there is always free nutritious food. Same is true for temples. Even a young poor Steve Jobs ate at Iskcon temples. Last point - while some of Canada's problems are because of excessive immigration, Canada would be nothing without immigrants. The population would decline, with a native fertility rate of under 1.4, and entitlement programs would be in deep trouble.

Liberals don't see migrants as a problem because they fall back on the reality that Canada was built with the help of immigrants. But that was a long time ago. It was a different situation completely. There needed to be people brought in to build, plant and develop the country at that time. We are no longer in need of mass migration as we already have a developed country. I wonder how many of the liberals would change their positions if the policy was, if you want a new migrant to come into Canada you have to pay for them out of your own paycheques and if you don't want a new migrant you don't have to pay. As an immigrant like myself, I came to study in Canada. I came to learn Canadian culture which has always been polite, humble, and friendly. Nowadays I am seeing things have changed compare with 22 years ago when I came here. I learned true Canadian cultures from my host family and my Canadian friends. Honestly, there are some immigrants who are coming to Canada who are not trying to learn and even tried to integrate into the culture. You don't come to someone's home and destroy it. You want to make yourself welcomed in Canada. Canada is an amazing country please don't destroy it. I worked hard to stay in Canada and I love this country. I also pay my taxes for some people to get their free stuffs when they entered into Canada, what is going on? Love Canada and let's us united again. ❤❤❤❤❤

I am an immigrant & am just speechless at the decay! Living here for over 18 yrs, this wasn't what we met when we first arrived. When we came here, we schooled & worked.... Now you can't find any job. I lost my job in June.... And until now I can't find another. It was tough to get EI agreed to pay me a few weeks for the same money they collected from my pay. Somebody should tell the Liberal govt to stop bringing people pls.

The problem with Canada is the shit type people they have running it. Not one of them are fit for the job. And they have been bringing in immigrants in larger numbers to reassure there votes. Why wouldn't they vote the party in, that brought them in. Over half my pay is tax. How the fuck is that right?

I immigrated to Canada in 2020 during peak COVID. I lost my job working in the Middle East and I had my PR so it made sense moving to Canada for good. I’m a chemical engineer who worked in oil and gas for about 10 years in the Middle East. Once I landed in Canada, I went to work in Amazon Fullfillment Centre the week after I completed my quarantine. It was hard labor working for $16 per hour in Toronto. I worked for 10 months while working on my qualifications and engineering license. After that I was hired by an oil and gas contracting company and worked as a Trainee engineer after which I was promoted to Senior engineer in a year after I received my engineering license. I moved 4 cities in 4 years for my job. Now I am settled, own a home, got married to my long time girl friend and work at an Oil and Gas company which pays well. What I learnt through my experience is that Canada is a land of opportunities and people respect you for the work you do whatever it may be and do not judge you, all that we will have to do is work hard and improve on your skills. Integrate with the society, donate and volunteer. That’s how new immigrants can integrate. If you aren’t open minded and want to stay as you stayed in your country then you will not develop and it will hinder yours and the country’s progress.

Culture is a tricky thing. Is it not a known fact that one may not be all that interested in their culture and religion in their country of origin, but once immigrated to a different land, these same people become more attached to their original culture and religion, even more orthodox in their beliefs. They try to recreate what is familar. Why are we surprised most are not assimilating? It takes, for most, many generations. And even then. Immigrants will always, in one way or another affect change in the general culture. Think of different cuisine, the arts, influences on our beliefs, etc. What is a Canadian anyways? One who lives here? Who pays taxes here? How long of roots do you need to have before you are no longer called an immigrant? We have a very large country and from one community to another there is a difference in the culture. Perhaps we need to be clearer on what is in fact our highest Canadian values and communicate them more effectively. I would also like to add that there is suffering in not being able to pass on your culture. Watching your children and grandchildren speaking a different language, not having them understand yours enough for you to enjoy signing traditional songs to, not being able to guide them in your religious beliefs, etc., in the name of them becoming assimilated. I am experiencing these and my roots go back over 400 years on this land.

I heard why the government did the immigrants wrong. I was talking to an uber driver and my pharmacist. They told me the promises of luxury in Canada has and offered for them to live a better lives. They didn't know after they came here for work and or college/university they become in major debt. They said that they're in a luxury debt and never getting out of debt knowing that they're stuck in Canada and can't be allowed to leave unless they pay off the debts. That's 100 % wrong to do that to people when they know they don't feel welcomed and want to go home. I'm a metis Canadian and I had to leave Ontario to find affordability and miss my home. GOVERNMENT THIS IS YOUR FAULT AND YOU KNOW IT! Let them go home in debt. You made this mess. FIX IT! Including the baby boomers that made the problem started 8 % rate interests to buy houses. That was a mistake that should be bought 1 house and nothing else. I forgot to add something. The uber driver told me that india doesn't know that it's a debt luxury trap that you can't leave unless you pay your debt. He felt alone and found some people and the internet to make himself feel better temporary. TEMPORARY! He hates it here, but he respects Canadians. He feels sorry for the new ones that are coming to become debt trap. It's the same for the pharmacy. She got into college to be a pharmacy and bought the store. She is on low income but doesn't qualify for any supports like benefits to pay off her medical things. The reason she can't because they'll see the pharmacy store is income. Wait what? So she doesn't quilify for benefits because she's making income to pay off her massive loan to do her job. It's not enough to live by as what she told me. She also does misses home, but also traped in luxury debt. This is what I have learned so far. I went through a car accident and coudln't get out of the car. I thought in Brampton, Ontario was the rudest people on the planet, but was saved by the angels of indian people saved me out of the vehicle from the smoke. I still thank you! There is still good people out there and some are stupid people out there. Keep it up because being kind gets you to be positive to others and make things better when the world is fcked right now.

I am disgusted by what Canada has become. The government has allowed a free for all to take place without checks and balances for their own profit…whether it’s votes for political mileage, money that is being invested by certain people groups that will help enrich the pockets of government or whatever the reason - has caused this country to descend to the dumps st a rate faster than it takes to say ‘Oh Canada’. As an immigrant, I have seen the degeneration within the country (particularly Toronto & GTA) in 10 years. Sometimes it feels like you’re in a different country, with a different language other than English or French, individuals who refuse to adopt the traditional Canadian lifestyle, who are allowed in with little value for system and order, allowed to procreate and ‘raise’ children who don’t appreciate the Canadian values, both born and immigrants using crime as their currency to their warped perception of wealth and an whole history of issues that impact the lives of the average law and culturally abiding citizen. Oh there’s so much more that can be said about the state of this nation, but if there are bold-faced chants about who will be ruling Canada by 2060, those that have the power to do something need to pay VERY CLOSE ATTENTION. That is not just wishful thinking. That is a threat that will come to pass if a blind eye and a deaf ear is turned which, the government seems bent on doing. A word to the wise is sufficient.

As a Canadian, I am so sick and tired of being told that i have this bullshit nonsense, non-existent " white privilege," which is a load of shit. I am terrified for my little girl when it is time for her to get a job because my little girl and I are white, so we are put at the bottom of the list for being employed. And on top of that i am expected to bow down and not have a voice or an opinion about anything when it comes to immigrants and that because my daughter and i are white so we are automatically considered to be racists colonizers and forced to pay the price of something that happened long before i was even born and had nothing to do with just because the color of my skin . God gave us all our skin color and made us all . I had no say with being born with the color of my skin. I worked since I was 14, (A lot of times evenings and weekends, several times, two jobs)! I am now 63, I got hurt at work! First I had to fight compensation for a year, ZERO $$$! Then I had to apply to get Disability Canada Pension because I can't physically work anymore.. (damaged back, head injury, I have to use a cane and knee braces to walk)! I spent my savings just surviving while being forced to fight for MY money from my own government for 5 years just to get a measly $300. a month! THAT'S IT! Luckily my spouse works , we paid off our house ten years ago! But, we still barely get by! Every person I speak to about my case with the government on the phone, can barely speak English and yell at me or are VERY impatient with me, because I can't understand THEM, they usually hang up! When I ask to please speak to someone IN Canada, they hang up, then I have to wait another hour to talk to someone else! (I went to 4 government funded agencies to see if I could possibly get a job working from home, because I have trouble getting out! All sent me somewhere else! One agency who is supposed to help disabled people in WPG, REES, the agent refused to talk to me or look me in the eye, * he got a supervisor to talk to me! Because he's Muslim and I'm Gay! They were continuously hostile/aggressive towards me without reason??? I volunteer at 2 different food banks , I've met TONS of people who have never worked a day in their lives, their family, parents, grandparents have never worked... EVER! Yet they have brand new trucks??? Still go to food banks? AND, several new Canadians who I've met, have never worked a day in Canada... Some with new cars??? Yet everyone else receives 10 times what I receive to live on??? I PAID TAXES ALL OF MY LIFE! We can't afford a car! Yet... I don't blame them! I would take it they offered! I blame our government (NDP, Libs, AND CONservatives) who don't give a crap about disabled and seniors in Canada! Or if you paid taxes all of your life , into a system that's supposed to help when you need it! ALL politicians in Canada just whore out their votes! I've volunteered for almost 40 years, also holding down jobs, helping others, I've never seen so may seniors and disabled people forced to access food banks and soup kitchens than the last few years! EVER! Disabled people have to constantly prove they are disabled enough to get kitchen scraps from sociopathic politicians who are over paid and under worked! Fees go up, taxes go up, housing goes up, property taxes go up, bus fairs go up, etc.. Services go WAY down! We can afford trillion$ in corporate welfare, but not help our own? I'm a born and raised Canadian, as well as my husband. Even before our country was completely taken over, employment was hard to come by because of the fw's. 8 years ago, my husband had enough with trying to find a job, he stopped counting at over 450 resumes that were ignored, so he decided that we should start our own company, a small delivery company that 2 years later, we added a safe ride service to (driving drunk people home in their own vehicle). I was the manager of a little pizza place, which was run by immigrants, but good ones. I was hired because my husband approached them about doing deliveries, and they wanted to meet me. I had no idea I was going for an interview but they begged me to work for them, their reason; although they could speak English, they weren't fluent in it, so they wanted an English speaking employee who could easily understand the customer's. Within days, I was promoted to manager, and I loved my job and all of them. They treated everyone with such kindness and generosity. I found out just how much support they got from our government, when I broke down one day because I couldn't afford my prescription. My boss was so confused because he and his family got free prescriptions, dental, eye care, etc and they thought everyone got that. My boss paid for my prescription and actually apologized to me for how our own government treated us. He also showed me that they get $2,500 every 2 weeks, funding to start or buy businesses, but if they don't hire other fw's or immigrants, that funding changes to a grant and they have to pay it back. They are given money for housing, and vehicles. He was pushed out of that business by his 2 partners, and the partner's promised him I would keep my job. That was a complete lie. They stopped putting me on the schedule, claiming financial problems (bs), but hired not one but two new full time immigrant employees. I lost it and quit. Our town isn't that big, and word spread fast, especially when everyone found out that I was still owed over $2,000, which I will never see because no government agency will help me. Their business is actually struggling now and I love that for them. As for my husband and I's business, it's going strong but I came unglued when we recieved a letter from the government "suggesting" that we hire immigrants. I was in Walmart and the cashier of course an imaginant and she's so sour, and as my items are piling up .she said you have to pack these items away before I continue. I'm working full-time single women living pay cheque to pay cheque. I live in Vancouver and I can barely afford my basic living. My whole cheque goes into rent and rest in groceries. Who really wants to work? Especially on Mondays and Fridays! Honestly, I'd prefer to collect unemployment, live in my mom's basement, smoke weed, play video games, and complain about all the hardworking Indian folks. It just seems easier than putting in the hustle. I don't understand what the problem is. If someone wants to work, we should let them. Clearly, we have different priorities. We only get one life—just enjoy it and keep complaining about all the Indian people actually doing the work. We need someone to hate and complain about so we can hide our laziness. Honestly, if they leave, we’ll have to go to work, and I don’t think that's going to be easy. Here's the root of most of the problems, its gov. policy, you take in a million new people a year, give them everything and your dollar ends up losing value, so even though your working hard, you cannot get ahead in this country. So you end up going into a debt that you can't pay off and the problems increase. Taxes go up value of the dollar keeps going down, so in the end its a no win situation for most of the general population and its the same when you retire, you get an income that's not enough even to pay for rent in the city you were brought up in. This is a very serious problem and gov. does not seem to do anything about it, food banks are overwhelmed along with medical staff, food prices and rents have gone out of sight as far as prices are concerned. We have a national debt that never gets paid and a gov. that spends more money than it takes in in taxes. And a dollar thats going to H in a handbasket. Too much crime, too much violence, too many traffic jams and too much drug use. I have written to this liberal gov. and told them how to fix these problems but they don't listen, their agenda is with the WEF, you will have nothing and you will be happy, right, no. Canada is now a bankrupt country and going to a third world status, I guess you get what you vote for and I did not vote for this gov. to ruin the country.
