I no longer want to say or feel “ American “ I am 68 and so ashamed ?

CNN, why in the world do you waste our time telling us what we just saw and heard? Anyway, I'm very nervous, if not down right scared, to watch the United States devolve into a fascist regime. It feels terrorists now hold our government hostage. For the first time in my life, I'm embarrassed and ashamed to be an American.

As an American, I feel ashamed and humiliated by how my fellow Americans behave and blindly worship this ??.

This is HEARTBREAKING, because Trudeau is speaking to EVERYONE like a leader SHOULD!!! He left NO doubt how much he cares about his fellow citizens, and that their government will help them as much as they can!! \nThis is what AMERICANS dream about, a leader that cares about us!!! We wish and pray that our leader looked and spoke like that!!! \nCANADA is showing the WORLD what TRUE LEADERSHIP LOOKS LIKE!!! Why does it feel like everytime I watch a cnn report it seems like they are anti-American?

As an American, I feel deeply ashamed of my country right now due to the collective actions of the current administration, which I consider to be foolish, immoral, and inhumane.

Thank you for this, Mr. Trudeau. As an American. At some point a line had to be drawn, you can't just keep coddling a power-hungry toddler forever. I feel more hopeful that Canada's action will bring positive change to America than that our administration will protect any of us.

I feel sorry for Canada. But what will these tariffs do to weaker Mexico? Do Americans really think that impoverishing Mexico will lead to less criminality and immigration from Mexico? This is crazy.

As an American expat living in Mexico . I feel so outraged that the sitting US president has decided to destroy our friendship Canada . Watching in Hungary/Slovakia: Amazing speech - hope it's understandable also to many Americans. They need to understand it before they feel the impact of Trump's trade war w/ his frm allies. I'm so proud I got an opportunity to spend few months learning English in Canada - lovely country and lovely people w/ great leaders.

Under normal circumstances I would be the last person to support our Liberal party; especially Trudeau. His past record speaks for itself. However, his talk today to the American people and Trump actually made me feel proud to be a Canadian. It was the harshest language I have heard him use towards Trump especially after enduring weeks of degrading talk from Trump in relation to calling Trudeau a governor. I hope that the Liberals follow through with protecting Canadians.

Almost feel like the American government is becoming a terrorist organization

As a Canadian, I didn’t vote for Trudeau but I have to hand it to him, he has expressed the thoughts and feelings of the majority of Canadians very well. Canadians are generally pretty laid back and easy going, often too polite for our own good. However, as the Americans in 1812, the Germans in WW1 and WW2, the Chinese and North Koreans in the Korean War and the Taliban in Afghanistan found out we don’t shy away from a fight when we are provoked. We will never bow down to that orange orangutang in the White House.
