Healthcare is very expensive for the individual. You pay and pay and pay then when you go to use it. You only have access to 2/3 of proper care.\nCanada has endless entertainment and fun things to do. Depends on what you enjoy doing. If you are into outdoor activities Canada has them all. You would have to travel otherwise to enjoy. Canada has deserts forests lakes oceans and every environment in between. Get out touch grass. I can see why you say it's boring if you do not use the environment around you. But that's your own fault refusing to see it. You get used to the cold. It's better if you dress for it and also go enjoy the outdoors.

Be carefull what you wish for Girls becasue Canada like New Zeland, Eu Nordic states seem to be some of the better countries compared to say to the USA (its just over the border by the way, if you have plenty of money!) Yes the USA where if you have enough cash then you can get virtualy instant healthcare but remember within a profit driven system enough is never enough and most people will find their cover they try to use isnt the cover they were paying for! Here in the UK our Nhs was reliable & you were seen very quickly, until they started privatising then costs and times started to increase at 1 - 2 hours now they are 12 - 15 hours or even never if you end up dead sitting in the back of a Ambulance waiting!!! so the private sector increasing efficiency is a myth perpetuated by greedy money obsessed people....

After reading the comments it's funny how people still thinks where you are born or your country origin is home. Imagine thinking that's the definition of home to begin with, sometimes I Just shake my head when I see people using such content to define home. Home dosen't necessarily have to be your country origin or whatsoever. I personally would define home as anywhere with the best of contents I seek along with my Characteristics being blended. \nAlso I don't get why people are criticizing those who said they won't come back, they have there various reasons for moving abroad, it might be for a better life, academic, security and lots other stuffs. If they wanna go back to there home country then good and fine but if they wanna stay and migrate, it's also Good. Migration has always been a thing right from the time of Abraham so in essence allow those who wants to migrate to migrate, they are not the cause of your problems or to why your home country has bad governance. If you don't like the fact that they are migrating or not wanting to go back to there home town then simply ignore them, no need to act bitchy about it, Gosh!

My wife, my 3 kids and I used to like Vancouver but not anymore!!! The weather is why we plan to leave for good but also the expensive rents! I also heard about horror stories at many hospitals (and yes, I have worked in Africa and to be honest, Africans hospitals are way more functional than the ones in Canada in terms of human aspect… there they care, Canadians do not give a shit about anyone!!! And I am saying this as a Belgian!!! I have some African colleagues at work here and at least 80 percent of them either want to go back to Africa (one is actually going to start an Afro business there and build his own house) or move to Europe (one of them plans to live to my homeland Belgium and two others in France as apparent the pensions there are way better than the Canadian one) as soon as they get enough experience in canada! None of us at work , including me, want to retire or get old here in Canada! For me personally, it is the Canadian extreme loneliness and lack of willingness to open to others that really shuts me down… I am fed up and and tired of paying taxes in a country where some (not all) hospitals and some retirement homes treat patients like … objects, not human beings! I now understand (as before I did not) why even some of my African colleagues are looking forward to go back to Africa or to some of them, immigrate to Europe! .. none of us want to be left alone and depressed in this so highly individualistic and unfriendly, falsely “cool” country called Canada… a country that claims America and France are racist countries when not even one CEO in Canada is coloured! I am also fed up of Canadians being cool!!!! Cool???? Yes, their humour is crap and they are all too serious… not astonishing why so many end up being depressed or on meds to be able to function! \nLast: I am fed up with 1. The stupid credit score system which makes North Americans anxious and frustrated!!!! Stupidity does not even exist in France or Belgium where I am from! 2.food is Canada is … not good…lol… really close to being bad! 3.the country is boring… reason… people are so disciplined and nothing happens!!! I just miss Europe even if we are far from being perfect and I prefer our imperfections to the Canadian perfect society which end up making people boring and annoying!!! 4. I prepared all by myself just for 15 days and got a 7 band overall, L8.5, S7.5, R6.5(I could have scored much better in reading but I had to use the loo, I lost my 5mins and I just started to panic and time started to fly??)W 6, writing is basically the tougher part, guys start getting those writing habits regular, and yes the biggest myth DO NOT USE BOMBASTIC WORDS keep your English simple and have a good knowledge of paraphrasing and vocabs that's all and all the best for your ielts.

Any list using the words vibrant city should get itself better descriptors. City is more a curse word in my World and is the ultimate oxymoron. As a person that has studied and worked in the social sciences I can unequivocally state that any of these lists are rift with creator bias. I've not looked all of the list but it's set up to be no different and not based in many of the factors that matter to most people.

Sri lankan here, totally agree about Canada. You dont see anybody outside. You only see you neighbors once a week when they put out their garbage or shovel the snow for 9 months. Only 3 months in the summer you see few people here and there. Its very depressing, stressful, and anxious. I've been here for 30yrs and still can't get used to it. I travel.alot and many tropical places are very poor but they're happy enjoying and lively. If my country is not committing genocide and corruption, my country sri lanka is beautiful. I was hoping the country will get better, its been 30yrs and its at the worst situation presently.

Sir I have shifted to UK ..around 5 months ago...I spent around 12 years in Saudi arabia before.\nThe main difference between our country and this country is the PEOPLE.\nIts not the prices..the money etc that makes you feel better. Do you need anything from us? And that was...an experience I never had before in my life. Then they discussed the way outs for the dues.\nSame goes for the jobs..the positions..the hiring...not the SAUDI/AJNABI shit going on at all ! Or the bribes we have to pay in Pakistan to get a basic job !\nThe difference in HUMANITY is big sir...among our countries and these. This is just un doable now. I find its a real hit or miss. The reasons you've laid out are legit points, IF you naturalize through the proper process. Unfortunately I see a ton of immigrants who make a great living here using loopholes. I was born and raised in Toronto, I still live here. My wife on the other hand is one such person who struggles to adapt, she looks for and stays only within her cultural circle who make a better living then me because of these loopholes. One such family's husband found work that on paper, pays very little but 80% of his income comes in the form of cash. So come tax season, he claims very little and gets back a nice chunk, and is able to claim more on child tax benefits vs me. I find there are a ton of immigrants that work this way, some are even able to claim welfare while I'm struggling to get by on 3 jobs.

I love how you said that the schools in Newfoundland and Labrador are good… the teachers are okay, but there are a LOT of drugs and shit passed around in schools around here. It’s honestly awful. But the picturesque part is true, along with the shitty weather. And downtown St John’s is pretty nice, although it’s filled with skeets (basically people that act like gangsters, that smoke weed, vape, etc etc. It’s only really bad on the west end of St John’s and Mount Pearl though, so you should be fine if you avoid those parts). For Canada small thing like broken arm or need information or certain medication i n that way Canada supior way, it's fairly quick treatment and tends to be effictive. Where Canada starts lagging behind is really in RnD and access to life saving procedures. Too many people die on waiting lists in Canada as there is not enough resources to go around, y'all have waited 4-8 H(normal is 2-4) just to be seen before don't fib to web now. \n\nAnd since we lack competition for newer/better medical procedure, 80-90% of our medical knowledge comes from the states or ww2 Germany.\n\nWhile on say the USA side, due to the competition they are constantly making advancements (which in the long run makes overall treatment cheaper and closer affordable). While with Canada you have fixed prices, which actually encourages stagnantion in development as anything that streamlines the hospital making it more efficient hurst the hospitals next year of available funding.. while being hurt in the USA can really set the individual back.\nIn Canada you get an overall lower quality of care as the talented doctors end up moving to the states where they can get paid what they are worth not stuck on a fixed income. And after all that rare illnesses in canada as stated don't have any coverage meaning that any one hit with hit rare illness finds out the hard way they can either pay for life saving medication or well pass on.. as most Canadian are taxed to high to have any substantial savings available for such an emergency as they fall into the trap that the government has me covered. \n\nSo each system has its positives and negatives and as far as I'm concerned it's not talked about enough honestly up hear.\n\nIf you have been to the dentist in canada thats basically the usa system, though the prices are fixed in some areas so some services won't be available.. as they don't update the payment schedule often enough so certain procedures pay well, other well can actually cost the dentist out of pocket. \nTherefore in some areas you can't get certain procedures done at all the dentist will refuse.

Canada is one of the worst places to immigrate to. I’m Canadian. I know what it’s like to live here. Plus I’m indigenous. So I’ve face racism and prejudice. Many think my people gets free handouts. From my experience that’s far from the truth. I’ve left my community for a better education. I was completely alone without parents and my siblings, living with an aunt that used me for another pay check. I couldn’t go to college because I couldn’t afford it, even tho I got accepted into three colleges. Now I’m working a part-time job that forces me to stand on my feet all day. Not many job opportunities are out here unless you’ve gone to college or obtain training. plus the rate for rent is horrendous.

I’ve lived on both sides of the border (New York and Ottawa/Gatineau). I am white. And I’ve been pulled over on both sides wile I was driving and wile a black person was driving. I’ve seen scary difference between the interactions with the police. Though the US cops are a little more harsh to the black people the Canadians ones weren’t much better. If you deny that is happening in Canada your wrong. If you deny it’s happening in the US your wrong. It happens no matter what side of that imaginary line on. Be the change you wanna see. If your white use your privilege to promote change. And for everyone, go to protest (safety there is still a pandemic going on), sign petitions, vote and get involved with government. Honestly, what did he think. It is not easy when you have no education to come and get accepted. Plus her chose Alberta when there was way better choices. For example, Montreal and Toronto are better to immigrants. There is reason why is difficult also. If Canada was to accept everybody,it may not be as safe as it is now. I used to feel angry,when ignored by shop assistants,for whitees ,but I studied things closely,and found that whites dress up .....properly most of the time ,when going to these stores,and shabby looking white people dont get treated,better than blacks......so it gets down to the selfish silliness of the employee....as to who will actually buy their wares,and ensure their pay. I’m confused about something. \nIf there’s not many customers in the store and they’re ones that are just looking around for almost 30 minutes and theres a bunch of workers, wouldn’t they be normal to ask “Can I help you” a lot because they are bored and actually want to do something helpful at their job...? \nI used to help in a library if anybody was looking for something I’d try to help them so that they could find what they’re looking for right away instead of wasting time. If I saw anybody just browsing or wandering around for almost half an hour I would totally ask to see if I could help them. Better to try than not help at all. Why get paid to do nothing? Isn’t it your job to help? \n\nUnless I know exactly what I’m looking for and I know where it is I will ask for assistance, it’s great when they just come to me so I don’t have to track down somebody myself. That usually takes longer.

@kurt Haas I don't think that tax evasion mean that you give your taxes and if Social Security money away and never get them back. As an American Citizen and Veteran, I use to wonder why so many family members and former soldiers would stay overseas after the military. That is till it was my turn..! Homelessness is related to addiction and mental health. Most immigrants don't suffer from homelessness because they have relatives that look after each other. 3rd generation+ Canadians (all races) lack that.. if you're 18 you are own your own, thats where that issue is with homelessness.

I remember when my family immigrated here over 15+ years ago and my brother was only 1 years old. 2 weeks after coming here he slipped on the floor and cut open his forehead on the hinges of our door and he was bleeding everywhere (he later had to get 6 stitches to fix it), my father was out working and we didn't know how to contact the police or hospital because we didn't have a home phone yet. We used our neighbors and the ambulance came and I strictly remember that because we didn't have our health cards yet they wouldn't start work even though my father said he will pay when he gets there. I remember my mother and I feeling helpless while my 1 year old brother was bleeding out (the hospital staff tried to stop the bleeding with cotton ball and bandage) and I distinctly remember that they did not start helping my brother even WHILE my father was paying but only started work after the bill was completed. Even though my family felt helpless at that time and we felt it was unfair, we never blamed Canada because it was their policy and they have every right to follow protocols. So it makes me angry to see people who walked into our country illegally getting far better treatment than my family ever got even though it might not be anything as life threatening as ours was. It makes me angry that our hard earned tax dollars are used to help people who have no motivation to help the country that gave them asylum during war.. It's actually the opposite as a lot of these families call their free housing "disgusting" and compare it to "living like a slave". I'm angry because little girls at my brothers own school are getting shoved and assaulted by refugee boys as young as 6-7 and are let off with a simple "don't do that again" and a meeting with the parents. This is not the Canada my family came to love and call home so I can't imagine the hardships of Canadians who are living here for 3, 4, 5+ generations 😔😔

A lot of people comment about how illegal immigration is ok, and blah blah blah. It's simple to say that when you don't feel the direct impact. Change the US as a country to your house. Now let's say the neighbors land Lord is beating the shit outta everyone in that household (play on the violence that's happening in country of orgin). One of then move into your house without letting you know beforehand (illegals). Let's say you don't mind and understand why they did so. Now they work hard around the house and get a job to spend for themselves and send money next door to the family still left behind. . But they don't have to pay for electricity, gas (aka taxes). And since you own a 3 bed room house, things don't change that much. Now 2 more of the neighbors flee because of the asshole land Lord. Now you have to start working slightly harder to pay for your utilities aka taxes. Now you start seeing how more people affect your household. Now even more people flee the next door neighbors and you work even harder for utilities plus your trash is overflowing, have to invest in larger trash cans, fix the doors or ascetic's(pipes, faucets, tubs etc) in your house from over use or mismanagement. Plus you have to start driving their kids to school, you have to get a bigger vehicle (that's a play on the education systems bloating classroom problems)spend more on gas and car maintenance, and since they all don't speak English, to have to spend money on making signs to inform them of the house rules and dangers. You have to invest time out of your schedule to inform them how things work in your house hold because at their house they walked around naked or shit with the door open (play on different societal norms or religions) and may even have to alter your rules as not to impose and anger them. Know the house is over filled and they expect you to buy a bigger house (play on the welfare state)I mean I can go on... But people reading this can get the drift. Point is, yes i understand that people want a better life and all immgration in not necessarily evil, but you can't just let anyone come in because you feel bad. Making change based off emotions of a few is detrimental to the whole.

I'm also Canadian and moved to the USA to marry my (now) husband, and I definitely notice some major differences. I think much of this really depends on where you're living in the US. I spent most of my life in Ottawa, and now live in South Central Pennsylvania. I'm surrounded by hillbillies, haha. In some ways healthcare is better in the US - I have waited much less time for health care, and also if you're paying in cash for the doctor many places offer a discount here. And I hear you on Amazon Prime! I use it all the time here! Not to mention so many cool vegan foods I could never get in Canada are easily available here.

This is bullshit. One year ago only conservatives were anti Muslim. The Syrian refugees were a election topic here. I was silly and said we MUST let some in to save them. Now that I have met one and he is the janitor of my building and according to HIM .. I must now follow HIS religious laws. SO .. Itès easy to be or not be a bigot when they are4 in need of life saving .. Thing is .. IF you are stupid enough to do it .. Better get use to some new arrival in Canada telling you how you MUST live.

My message to these people is that I don't fucking tow the line for any god. I feel so sorry for the Muslim folk that keep themselves to themselves and just get on with things. These yobs are using their 'faith' as an excuse to cause trouble. The Christian patrol groups are no better. They're simply one group of extremists aggravating another.
