don't count a place out until you've been there. yeah toronto is seeing more crime and is more expensive than ever, but e.g., vancouver, which is a lot smaller, more peaceful, easier to get around, may actually still not be necessarily better (real estate is just as expensive, hard to make friends, rains and snows in the winter now, everything closes super early), but you really gotta try a place and go with where you love. LA is full of problems, but I really love it there.

Completely agree with you. I spent 6 years in Canada and quit. Both me and my husband are highly educated but had to end up with minimum wage jobs to begin with. Winters are brutal. 2013 we experienced minus 40 with snow storms !! And keeping urself PACKED in ur home for months is extremely depressing. Medical facility inspite of being free is a joke !! You are better off getting basic medicines from India. They want to fix everything with Tylenol, that too such low potency that even 20 pills will not make any difference. And just 1 crocin in India and you can run a marathon next day. Education too is pathetic. They need a calculator to add 5 +5 !! Here 6 yr old kids do mental mathematics on 4 figures in their heads !! No university in Canada can even come close to IIT'S, IIM'S and IISC ever. 12th std math and science here in India is probably taught to engineering degree students on Canada. Moreover only Asian kids like Indians, Koreans Chinese kids ever reach university level education the rest are dropouts and busy with sex and drugs and temporary jobs to fend for the same. Mind you there is a lot of racism in Canada. Most whites hate Asians as they think that we have 'snatched' away their jobs !! They don't like it when we end up buying own homes within 2 to 3 yrs of migrating. Grocery is expensive. Commercial dairy products are high on hormones and other chemicals. It's crazy how many women there have issues with their reproductive organs. Hormone related obesity, diabetes is rampant. As she said only if you go there thru a company on projects ect it's alright. Else there is no place like India in every aspect.

I lived there for many years and always wanted get out and I did. For me it was always dirty, ugly, dangerous and mean. Life style is important and sometimes even more important than your high paid job if living there makes you unhappy. I moved, I am happy and guess what I have better living condition, life style and also better paid job elsewhere. Research you will find a place for yourself instead of going mental in this nasty city.

Been in Canada for approximately 25 years. I can say that the effect that Canada has on a legal immigrant is neither here nor there. If you can make lemonade out of any lemon you’re dealt, you will thrive in Canada (and anywhere else where your efforts are not overwhelmingly quashed by corruption, blatant racism or other forms of segregation). \n \nLynn, I was a lecturer in Kenya, went back to school here in Canada after wallowing in culture shock the first year, then circled back to teaching in college again after an arduous journey in school, but this time in a different field. \n \nAfter becoming a single mother of four kids, I had to also hustle on the side to build a small business empire along my life’s ladder. Partnership with God, goal clarity, the get-up-and-go, and relentlessness truly work. It isn’t the size of the dog but the fight in the dog that does it, regardless of where you live. \n \nThe starting point for a new immigrant can be very low due to the weather, unpreparedness and culture shock, but if you know that the only way is up, and are self-motivated, those challenges are soon behind you as the tests become testimonies. \n \nBy comparison people have more human rights here regardless of their status. The wheels of justice grind slow but they do grind fine. Women and children have equal rights with men. Politicians are mostly there to serve not necessarily to exploit. \n \nOpportunities for self-development galore - including being trained to become employable and going to school at any age (sometimes for free while you are still at the bottom of the ladder). There are food banks so you never go hungry if it came to that. The disabled are better treated with dignity. \n \nThere are prolonged parental leaves for both moms and dads for up to 18 months. Commensurate with earnings, parents under certain thresholds are given Canada child tax benefits and other supplements for each child under 18 years of age. \n \nDepending on the number of kids and their ages, the money can add up handsomely. Not to mention that there’s no tuition to pay for primary and high school students. Tuition fees start at post-secondary level. \n \nTo see a doctor is free as it is paid for by taxes. It the meds that you and/or your insurance pays for. Some medical equipments may be paid for by either or both the individual/insurance and the government depending on eligibility. \n \nBy and large, there’s cleanliness of common spaces. There’s also safety and relative peace. At least wherever I have lived, I can’t tell you how many times I forgot to lock my door with impunity. \n \nThere’s a lot more stressful work here in my opinion, but like you said Lynn, systems work a lot more efficiently and effectively. \n \nThe elephant in the room is the extra hard work that those living abroad must put in to fulfil expectations back home. Also known as black tax, the overwhelming financial dependency of relatives on their diasporan loved ones places undue stress on many here, especially because there are no short cuts to getting money here. \n \nAnyway, Lynn, thanks for such a great topical issue you’ve shared. I moved to Toronto in 2021. I've wanted to live in the city and have finally bought my condo in the city of Toronto. I love the city, especially during the summer time. Toronto Summer is so much fun and a great place to be in Canada. I am sick of all the Toronto bashing the past couple months. Yes, there are a lot of problems and yes they're all really bad and need to get resolved. And in all honesty, Toronto is probably one of the better big cities to live in in Canada. Despite all the negativity, TTC violence hasn't really gone up on paper. A lot of aspects about Canada are still strong even among western countries. I've been to Vancouver and Montreal. And those are cities have a lot of problems and a lot of different problems than Toronto.\n\nThe reasons that she specified in her video are all valid and they all make sense. I just want to say that I'm sick of all the Canada bashing and all the Toronto bashing. Toronto is a great place. I'm going to be still living in this city as some years it's going to be down and it's going to come right back up again in another few years.

My sister grew up in Toronto with her Mom while I was with our dad about an hour outside of the GTA. Even back in 2003 when I would come to visit my sister, or just go on class trips you could smell the city before you ever saw it... Torontonians had a bad reputation of thinking they were in the center of the universe, and it always just put me off of the city. It's not that I would ever want someone to not come to Canada... but there are just so many better places to live in Ontario, let alone the rest of the country... that why would you ever want to subject yourself to what T.O. has become?

I live in Canada as a Kenyan and I have been here for sometime .I work as a HR/Payroll Specialist also certified in the field. The problem is not Canada , Canada is a very good county which I love and I am gland God gave me the Opportunity to Come and settle here with my family.. The problem with some people coming here is lacking of knowledge how Canada works .It’s system is very far from how things work in Dubai or Gulf countries. A lot people are thinking than you can just come and get any job even without proper papers or you can earn a lot of money and then build wealth quickly. Which is A BIG FAT LIE. The tax in Canada keeps you humble. That is how Canada funds it's high end life many admire and want to be part of. The more you work in Canada the more tax you pay and many don't know this, and it is one of the main reasons why a lot of people start to regrets, because they realize there effort of working hard is not paying as they hoped. Another thing in Canada is next to impossible to get jobs or rent a place without proper paper work, like work permit, It is not like USA where you can use someone else papers to work. the The main available jobs , easy to get , don’t pay much. And also the cost of living is very high in some provinces like Ontario and BC. They hardly recognize credentials from outside unless you came through a job offer. Also because a lot of things in Canada are paid by the government through taxes, like health care, education. Unless you are tax paper with (and I repeat) Paper work, you cant access the benefit, including thee free food available for the needy. \nMany people forget Canada is looking for people to work for them. Not to grow rich and leave. The system is meant to keep you working. Unless you understand how a system of a country works, one will continue to blame it. Let people get well informed and well educated first , before they jump in the river. And it’s not Canada a lone , but any country in the world. Also a lot of these media post about Canada are misleading. And there is also another trap called debt, a lot of people once they getting working, rush to but things they cant afford and it becomes a stress instead of a blessings.\nIf you want to live well and enjoy Canada . One of the top thing to do is, go back to school once you enter in it, get a good education and you will get a good job. Also give yourself time to adjust. REMEMBER you are starting from square one. You are not continuing where you left in Kenya or in the country you get from. Also, the general social climate is not as friendly as those in USA for example. Not many people are willing to help for free. The most jobs advertised in Canada are the lower end paying jobs, which a lot of people pay a lot of money to come for, just to realize the job they left behind was far much better than this, but no one told them that, just because it said $18 hrs and you converted it to your country and looked a lot, doesnt mean it carries the same wait once you earn in from here. The living expense are very different. The reality is, it is not where you are , but whom you are and determination knows no barrier. Anyone who will trust God for help, work hard/smart and be patience in life, they will make. It might take longer than they expect, but they will get their eventually.

It’s not just Toronto it’s the effort Canada that has turned to shit just like the usa it’s not an isolated thing so don’t go moving to any other part of Canada thinking it’s going to be much better than Toronto because it’s not just like here in the usa outside of New York chicago Miami Orlando Atlanta Las Vegas San Francisco Bay Area other places in the usa are just as bad they just don’t highlight them Dallas and houston is just as bad as San Francisco so is Colorado and Seattle even Louisiana Mississippi Alabama even Tennessee Missouri are in shambles and have been for decades the entire usa is in free fall so is france Paris London the entire u.k germany is starting to collapse again as well including Great Britain Poland Sweden is also on a major decline all western countries haven’t grown at all in the entire 20th century and that’s bad

Same here in Montreal used to love this city still do but post C19 everything changed like everywhere housing crisis, politics, the cultural center it user to be changed maybe its just looking at it now at the start of my 30s compared to when i moved here from Europe and Central Africa at the start of my 20s. Met friends i have for life, got great professional opportunities lived in nice places great food in the city. Now everything is just super expensive now and i know toronto is must be ever crazier. Im considering moving back to France or Switzerland to be closer to my family and friends and also be close to Gabon easier to visit than here constantly taking 4 plains round trip everytime i go back home. After losing my father last year getting divorced 3 years ago i think my time here is done. 14yrs here i became an adult here had amazing experiences, became a canadian citizen but its just not the same anymore. Time for a new adventure somewhere else. We used to live well even back as a student on minimum wage, now with a better career good salary we’re struggling. Breaks my heart seeing this all over canada.

I moved to North York after living in downtown my whole life. Much better. If I have the means would I stay? It's hard to stay in a city that isn't allowed to have any value and controlled by other political forces. Finding a place that has balance of its own ownership and thus its own destiny makes for a liveable and safe city. People are fighting for it, and losing. I don't think that would appeal to someone who can afford to go

US is far better for individuals who wants to grow and work on themselves. I lived in US for 2 years and I got the best education learned a lot and met one of the most ambitious people. I always was motivated to do more. US boosted my education and career. Unfortunately I couldn’t stay there due to immigration issues. I moved to Canada and I am here for almost 5 years now and I am still struggling just to make ends meet. Every day I am looking for ways to get out of here back to US or elsewhere. Legalization of drugs, prohibitably expensive housing, poor access to health care, lack of availability of well paying jobs, massive intake of immigrants, overtaxation and fewer businesses opportunities. Canada was great place to live back in 1990s and early 2000s. Everything is going downhill after 2018. Immediately they need to fix immigration, taxation, healthcare, housing, drugs, and support small businesses.Else, Canada will continue to be the place of broken dreams.

I don’t know but money part is true. I am lucky that I work in a nice facility where people work under me and I don’t feel discriminated based on my background(India).Bro you need a better workplace and I live in Saskatchewan too. Well you can become a doctor and the money you will be making is exponential.I love everything except weather ,flat landscape and lack of many places to go to visit nearby.

The big cities in North America are experiencing\nsimilar issues, some better than others. We still have family in Boston. We continue to go there as you do in Toronto. There are just not that many options of places to live in the US that are good, especially if you don't want to be isolated. As an American I thought about moving to rural New Hampshire.. which doesn't have city problems, but still, kind of cold and isolating and they might have meth problems. I decided on Miami as a home-base, its expensive, but there aren't many other good options out there.. Living in another country is psychological hard after awhile and dealing with visa issues.. I thought about moving to somewhere like Budapest which is very nice, but if you aren't part of the culture or know the language, its hard.. Its better sometimes just to settle down somewhere, I can't get anything done as a nomad, constantly worried about where I am going to next, living in other people's apartment isn't always comfortable..

Also he is saying go to winnipeg and deadmonton ? he has no idea how harsh the winters are in those places . In Nigeria, You can be a graduate of a medical field with BSC or higher or Even a bachelor's of Law and still be jobless for several years unless you are self employed or have a strong connection, a friend of mine has a undergraduate degree in medicine but works as a shoe maker seeing there is no Job available and she skilled in shoe Making trade. The unemployment rate here has been increasing rapidly and on top of that the cost of living dosen't make up for that, even cost of living going high where no one understands and of course you have the bad governance to blame for that. Education system is here is also terrible, why would one be spending 8 years for a 5 year course due to Asuu strike, all these little things can be overlooked by the government but they are part of what dampens the growth of the economy NGL.\n\nNot saying Canada dosen't have it own downfalls, it does like the housing crisis and all but IMO I see they still strive better, one of which would include bringing in foreign workers of skilled Trade to help improve the economy, they go as far as sponsoring visa application and the employers go as far as getting LMIA for foreign workers and the health care system appears to be more stable based on what I have experienced. The educational system is also okay, my sis got funding worth $15k for her tuition whereas her tuition is $20k, they already paid up to 75% of it for her Thesis, mind you I said funding not scholarship, they are totally different. \n\nNot tryna criticize either country before some trolls attack me in my comment section but am only stating my experience and what has been happening in both sides of the fence, it as easy as that.

He's a Nigerian doctor. Canada is not a place where foreign doctors thrive. But he can go be a nurse or do something else and be fine. Alternatively he can choose to move to the US or apply their medical residency. Like he said, he's giving his children a better life which he probably couldn't give them in Nigeria. Most Nigerian parents will do the same.

So sad, you don't trash your country on a platform like this no matter challenges that country is going through. At a point in history, Canada was a struggling country but I don't think Canadian talk trashed of their country. Stop giving them free aid: medical ETB school anything they do not deserve, the people born in the USA cannot get anything as fast and undocumented as these people get, the government needs to do better. Why do they want to come into the U.S. in the first place? If it's escaping the cartels well then I can see why I don't blame them but if it's to find better work good luck. It's no different here then it is there. Low pay & housing is extremely expensive we have like over a million homeless people here so good luck finding affordable housing plus not very low income housing here at all & really no welfare. So don't think it's going to be all sunshine & rainbows even the Americans are leaving the U.S. & finding cheaper countries to move to plus our health care here sucks!!!!

Yes this is sad for the individual. But we have all seen the marbles ted talk. If you haven't it is basically the idea that the US can only take a drop in the bucket when it comes to immigrants. Even if we took the same percentage as Canada did, its still nothing compared to the amout of people trying to get in. It is better for thier home country for them to live here for a little bit and go back. The US essentially only takes the best and brightest people from other countries. People that could be making their home countries a better place to be.

This Canadian lived in Orange County CA for 10 years. I took my the 12 year old with me. I had been offered my dream job and was paid enough to have a good standard of living. However, I lived in an immigrant community to save money as I found many of the high schools were horrid compared to Canada. I had not realized the school to school inequality to be so extreme and my kid changed to independent study at home. So with a Canadian elememtary education, they graduated high school a year only while skipping no courses..\n\nMy kid had medical issues and even with good HMO insurance, we could never get a decent diagnosis until it had gotten so bad that their digestive system was so wrecked. I finally sent them back to Canada for the surgery that we could not get in the USA. It seemed the insurance companies kept getting in the way. And in one case a doctor went all religious on us. After 6 years of almost continuous pain they finally got relief for a decade until the prior damage came back to haunt them However, after a year of university ib Canada my kid went to a private university in the eastern USA. They have decided to remain in the USA and now in their mid 30s, they make really good money anf have top line medical insurance which pays for the ongoing care they need because of the damage caused by delays when a teenager. \n\nI found life in the suburbs of Orange County nice but the OC is not a good place to meet people. When after 10 years there, in 2010 I returned to Vancouver to care for my elderly mother. I had been living alone for 6 years by then and was offered the first job in Vancouver anything close to me dream job there. and I returned to Canada at age 59. I had been approved for a green card in 2008 but there was a 6 year wait for it to come through. But I noticed the racism in the USA start breaking out all over the place when Obama got elected. And it has gotten worse and worse every year. Especially with 45 enabling it so much. \n\nMy circle of friends in Southern California are mainly good people and not at all like what we call MAGA-hats now. Except one who thinks 45 was the greatest. Politically, the USA is on the path that Germany was on in 1933 and I fear for the US Democracy if the Orange One gets in again. Even my kid and their spouse have bug out plans to head to Canada just in case. This is why my kid, while having a green card has never taken US citizenship. Besides, being a Canadian has not affected things the two times they got security clearances \n\nWhile most Americans are good people, it seems that about 25% have gone just plain loco and care nothing about democracy. And appear to prefer the USA to be a totalitarian theocracy \n\nI was there long enough, paying the maximum FICA taxes for 10 years to get a small pension from Social Security and I have Medicare Part A. I can afford to buy parts B and D but I see no reason. I have even better coverage in Canada for way less cost. The USA has a nice warm climate in many places and I just loved that. But otherwise y'all have too many people who want to turn the place into an intolerant police state and to return the country to 1950s levels of intolerance, So in my retirement, I will stay here in Canada. Even though I could go and move in with my kid in the USA and get onto US Medicare.

the way you paint Canada at the end is very untrue - refugees are treated horribly here. when we took in the people from Syria they were put in homeless shelters and weren't given food or proper clothing (it was winter and -30c out). as of typing this there are camps/tents set up in the streets of downtown toronto for refugees we just brought in that have no where to go. we brought them here in a hopes of a better life and made them apart of the ever growing homeless population. we also just deported over 700 Indian students who came to Canada under fraudulent circumstances. maybe if you are rich life is different (thats really all you cover) but if you are an International student or a refugee this is not the place to be - we take in so many International students because they have to pay 3x to 4x more than someone born here. do more research into your videos please this and the other comment i left are all breaking or top stories in canada not hard to learn and could of added so much to this topic instead of painting canada in a near utopian image

I'm Canadian and worked in Dertoit for almost 10 years, I crossed the border daily working for GM. I've also done work in Louisiana, Indiana and all around Michigan. \nAmerica has some of the nicest people I've ever had the pleasure of knowing. It's a beautiful country and has a ton to offer anyone with an ounce of drive. The variety you have in your economy is amazing, we don't have a lot of choice when we buy stuff, you guys have so much more to choose from, take restaurants for example, I've never seen so many chain restaurants in one place, we have a handful of them. \nFrom what I've seen, there's also a lot of poverty, crime and violence, but that's literally everywhere right now, even here in Canada, we don't prosecute violent crime anymore. The gun issue is probably the biggest problem...I always felt extremely vulnerable out in public, especially driving, because I assumed everyone had a gun on them, I seen so many random guns on people, it just blew my mind. I always had to keep in mind when I was driving not to road-rage...That's how you get shot. The health care industry in America is nothing but a business model designed to bankrupt people. Our system isn't great at all...nothing to boast about. If you have to visit the ER at any hospital, you'd better bring food and water, you'll be there at least 8 hours before you're even seen by a doctor. Our health care is free yes, but we're taxed to death here because of it. I do indeed wish we had a 2-teir health care system, I want the option to pay to get seen soonest. America and Canada have free(ish) speech. We're both being ruled by leftist loonies, but that's all changing in our next respective election cycles. Biden and Trudeau will be shown the door and we can hopefully get back to healthy debate and more conversation in society...Instead of automatically dismissing each other, vitriolic badgering one another and hating each other. We had unity for a brief time, we all saw it, after 9/11 happened. We put our petty crap aside and saw each other as brothers and sisters. That didn't last very long and we've been in a constant state of crisis ever since. The media has driven a huge nail right through society, and takes a blow at every single issue we face, making it Left vs Right...\nIt's unfortunate to say, but it's going to take something truly devastating, possibly on a biblical scale, for us to come together again.

I'm willing to believe that Canada does genuinely need these high levels of immigration, but if that is the case then the government had better figure out a way to increase the housing supply or else none of them are going to have a place to live.

My American husband and I moved to Los Angeles from Montreal, because of the fact there was still a lot of live music compared to other places. It was a great 17 years of music but guns started to be more of an issue. Health care was big, and was going to affect us soon, and then tRUmp came in . We knew that the changes were NOT going to be for better health care, or better gun laws, or better immigration policies, and we moved back to Canada. Now we don't even want to visit because of the current situation re all the aforementioned issues. I wouldn't dream of moving back. And numerous friends have asked how can they get into Canada.The Canadian immigration site crashed when tRump won. if not married to a Canadian, most people would be rejected. i appreciate our system of government; tRump would have been tossed out early on with a Vote of No Confidence.

The US has a great propaganda machine, that’s why so many people blindly try to go there instead of trying to go to saner places. The Google salaries are insane, but getting into Google requires even more luck, so perhaps a comparison with a smaller (non-MAMAA) company would be better?

I have mixed feelings about this video. This video does a good job outlining the immigration process but it does not highlight any of the negative consequences of immigration that Canada is experiencing. One of the main reasons why cost of living is so high in Toronto and Vancouver is precisely because we have so many immigrants coming in without enough housing supply. This is by design because politicians and the upper class have a vested interest in keeping real estate prices high because so much of their net worth is tied up in the housing market.\n\nAnother negative is that employers hire immigrants working low skilled jobs and pay them less than Canadians because the immigrants are willing to be taken advantage of since they're just happy to have a job in Canada which pays better than their country. \n\nAnother myth that gets repeated is that Canadian takes immigrants out of compassion and unfortunately a lot of Canadians believe this. It was never about compassion, it's about bringing more people to 1) pay taxes to support our social welfare as Canadian birth rates decline and boomers retire, 2) keep housing costs high and 3) pay immigrants lower wages for the same work because immigrants are fine being exploited since they have a job in a first world country.\n\nAnother problem is the cultural shift. In the most immigrant-dense regions you'll find that many immigrants themselves surprisingly don't want more immigrants coming to Canada because they see these negative consequences. The people who are most pro-immigration have no problem cramming 8+ people in a basement and exploiting their labour because they make enough money to live in communities that immigrants can't afford, and so they don't have to deal with the cultural shift that's taking place. This is NOT the fault of immigrants, but rather the politicians who put economic growth over quality of life. Over HALF the people in the GTA weren't born in Canada, so they didn't go through our school system and have no connection to our culture. Canada is unfortunately going to become very racist over the next 10-20 years as Canadians start feeling like outsiders in their own country. It's somehow considered racists to criticize the effect of multiculturalism on social unity, yet the cultures we accept in Canada only became distinct cultures because of monoculturalism.

As a Canadian there looks like some great places to visit in the USA but i would never move to the US. The biggest issue in the US is Gun violence, there attachment to guns. Number two is health care, number three is weather volatility and more adverse weather conditions. Instead of one main government the US seems to have two which prevents any real change for the better. Money controls more government and political decisions than even in Canada which is already bad enough. The NRA controls more government and policing. They are seen as the bigger risk to American safety and security. I believe many Canadians believe the NRA are on the cusp of being the largest domestic terrorist organization and closure to a major cartel. Not even the military could control the NRA if the US decided to enforce new laws that the NRA felt would effect their financial, political or perceived control in the US. This is a big reason Canadians may not want to move to the US. To think there is a private military ready to go to war against their own people in the drop of a hat, reminding North Americans of the war between the North and South. There are beautiful places to see in the US, there are hard working and brave people in the US and i am sure there are more good people than bad but those with power, control and weapons have the great degree of balance. The US has a lot to be proud of and still so much possibility and ability to grow if it were not for those with the majority of power that is not being used for good or in the best interest of the majority of US citizens. Love the architecture and old districts and those trying to preserve the environment, farms, seed diversity and best of what made the US great.

You have an entire political party pushing racist crap... it happens in every state but it is much worse in Republican states..... I lived in Florida while I went to post secondary school there and I won't go back. I'd be hard pressed to move to USA cuz your medical system prices, wages are less and so many people in a much smaller landscape. Id go for your constitution (1A, 2A) absolutely but Biden is a BIG turnoff for sure, your housing is way cheaper, your taxes are cheaper but... in Canada there is way more space where you can go and not see anybody besides moving to Northern Alaska, Montana or North Dakota. There are PROS and CONS to living in USA/Canada but I would move for dual citizenship and if I had guaranteed medical coverage but still keep a place in Canada to escape back to in case your country imploded under your current government or if I needed medical attention. It would be way better if you had a normal POTUS like Trump imo. Your money is at least worth the face value on the dollar bill... Cdn cash is like worth 50 cents US... we are like a peso currently.

I never want to move down in United States first of all they don't have free healthcare they don't have free medication while some medication and their food does not taste like ours I've tried their Pizza Hut that I found was totally disgusting they're McDonald's was totally different also lots of flies in this in the restaurant around where they make the hamburgers and that they're washing very filthy women's washroom overpopulated and you never know when you're walking on the street when you're going to get killed by a gun at least where I live it's a slower pace it's starting to become crazy with the homeless and people that like to make trouble but they're still not that much guns because we don't allow it it's more safe we can still walk on the streets without anything happening happening even at night where I live it's a slower pace the air quality is also better it's not muggy as much as the states a lot of places people here are more friendly but just like it here I was born here

As a American there is a lot of things to say, I want to in the future duel with the uk/eu or Canada. I’m surprised they haven’t talked about the high excelation of racism, and as a Asian person it hasn’t been fun. Until we at the lowest minimum (not my actual minimum) fix our healthcare system is close to nhs that is basically free healthcare payed by your taxes, then I don’t see much people wanting to go to the states; aside from maybe university. There is a lot that plays a role, but in my eyes living in Cali or Portland or Seattle or nyc are the better places. One thing that I’ll say is though we need higher wages, I think that is kinda something we get more at times than other countries to a extent.

Tyler, thanks for your entertaining and fun videos. My grandfather is a dual citizen but has never renewed his passport or anything and when asked to do so, he outright refuses. He says he hated living there. We live in the Vancouver area of Canada right now. My wife is finishing her registered nursing degree and we are considering moving to washington state, within an hour or so of the Canadian border on temporary work visas (TN1) for a few years. The main reason is the cost of living differences, mostly in housing but a lot of things are cheaper down there too. For example though, the costs of rent or to buy a house in the Vancouver area is insane - 1.5 million is generally a starting point. The cost of a detached house south of the border between Bellingham and Blaine starts around $400,000 ($500,000 CDN). If renting, it's crazy cheaper than here. \n\nThe area we are considering going to is very close to the canadian border, I've never heard of major violence problems in the area. Like one of the other comments you read, we're basically considering moving there to take advantage of a lower cost of living and higher salaries for a bit to try to get ahead. Living in the Vancouver area is such an absolute DRAIN on our finances that it is intolerable. If we didn't move to the US, we'd have to find another place in Canada to go to, but we do like the climate on the coast here. I'd actually just keep commuting to Canada daily to work in Canada since it's so close to the border, and writing the bar exam to be able to practice law in any US state except California, Massachusets, or New York is a pain in the backside to even be able to write it, let alone prepare for it. Just easier for me to keep working here unless we decided to try to make a permanent move somewhere further from the border.\n\nIf we decided to change our minds and apply to stay in the US in the future, there are a lot of the other considerations that other people have raised on top of my own ability to continue as a lawyer. Gun violence in the US is crazy, extreme polarized political views and increasing intolerance against diversity of race, culture, religion, (and while it doesnt affect us directly, it bothers us how LGBTQ people are increasingly targeted with backwards policies and by certain segments of the public), the health care system in canada has it's problems but it's also got it's strong points. We'll never go bankrupt because of a health care issue since we can move back to Canada IF it's ever a problem. Thankfully we are all pretty healthy so it shouldn't be much of a problem for a while at least. And we wouldn't even move there at all if her employment as a nurse doesn't offer health care and better pay than she can obtain here. \n\nOur kids will probably attend post-secondary (college/university) in Canada as dual citizens unless they get a scholarship to a top US school. The costs of post-secondary in Canada appears to be much cheaper than in the US and we have some good colleges/universities that consistently rank high globally.

No they want to come here spend our hard earned tax dollars and send our money back to their country and build houses and we as Americans can't go in their country and take over they'll kill our ass and put us in the garbage . We have our own problems here in the United States already send them back where they came from . Lack of affordable housing -- lack of housing in general -- is the main reason people already living here are being priced out and why so many refugees and immigrants cannot afford the cost when they move here. When these people come to Canada for a better life and/or to escape the suffering that they were living in, they cannot bring their homes with them. It is the government's responsibility at all levels to ensure that these newcomers have a place to go when they come here. A homeless shelter should not be the answer. Buy up office spaces and convert them (if safe to do so with whatever codes need to be met) into affordable housing units. For years we've been seeing hundreds of news articles about vacancies in office buildings being at all time highs, yet only a handful of them are being converted. 500,000 people a year entering a country where there isn't enough housing for them (let alone the people living here already) is irresponsible on the government's part. If this is your pledge, at least give these people a better life and not send them to shelters or onto the streets as soon as they arrive. If Canada is to truly be a safe haven for immigrants and refugees escaping their hardships, it's paramount that the government does what it can to make these people actually feel like their life will change for the better. I'm all for immigration since it helps the economy and knowing that Canada can put people in a better position for themselves and their families, but it's the lack of preparation from the governments that makes me question their pledge in this way.

They are illegals not migrants. But I do feel bad for them, if I lived in that toilet down there I would run like hell also. Latin here, I came here legally but I can tell you that it was difficult as hell for my mom to bring me here, it took money and years for that, but I want you as a fellow citizen to understand their situation first, in Latin America you could be graduation from college and even with that having a good job it’s difficult sometimes, unlike here education in Latin America is not always something that all people can get and every time they vote for someone it becomes more trashier, housing for the poor doesn’t even exist, half of the country is corrupt and going outside you don’t who you may find, my brother needs to wait 7 years to become a resident (not citizen) he will be 30 something at that point, what the government should do is make the residency easier and I can tell you something like this wouldn’t occur that easily, my mom is a lawyer in my country and I can tell you the situation wasn’t easy, every three times a week there would be shooting outside my house, drug dealer was my neighbor, and at the age of 15 there would parents of two kids the sad part all this is normal, stopping it is imposible because it gets you kill, the police will kill you for doing a peaceful protest just to stop feminicide, wanting your kid to go outside without being scare something would happen to them, this people want peace and a job that is it and when your own country doesn’t even give you the right for that how could you live? Latin America is like living in the worst state in U.S multiply by 1000 and happening the same thing every day, riots or protest are imposible there because you know the police will never go the peaceful way, what this people are doing is wrong but they just want to live, it even surprise how much people hate their president here when in Latin America there hasn’t been any good president in decades.
