Canadians needs to be great again stop the immigration once one family moves into a small town they take over buying fake visas hiding in canada. All restaurant changes have taken hours off of workers to hire 9 new immigrants each place. They force you out of your homes so their family members can move in. Trust me i have seen this first hand.

Essentially, they are finding ways to exploit their entry into the country, unlike my parents who had to wait patiently for years to come to Canada. I belong to an ethnic group. In the 1960s, when my parents immigrated to Canada, only a limited number of people from our ethnic group were allowed in. My parents were compelled to assimilate into Canadian culture to make friends. I had hoped to marry someone from my own ethnic group, but there were few eligible women. Therefore, both my brothers and I married Anglo-Saxon women. While I take pride in my parents' background, I do not live in a segregated community of my own kind. Instead, I reside in a mixed area and have no intention of bringing over 100,000 people from my village back home to Canada. Canada needs to restrict immigration until we get a handle on our housing and social services levels. Also, not all new immigrants should be allowed to move to Toronto or Vancouver. They should be sent to live in provinces such as Saskatchewan or Manitoba for the first 10 years. I am sure they need skilled workers. Also, would be forced to assimilate like my family did back in the 1960s because there would not be a massive enclave from their own culture in one area. Also, the reason my parents moved to Canada was their former country was Balkanized into different ethnic groups that exploded into a massive civil war. Canada might be in danger of that in the future. Certain ethnic groups don't tolerate certain policies that have happened in Canada. When they get to a large enough number all hell will break lose as they will have to culture and political power to fight back.

It takes 15% of immigrants up to 20 years to realize they've been duped and that the cost of living in Canada is too expensive? I'm surprised that the number of immigrants that choose to leave is not a lot higher, and that they don't do it much sooner. Those with marketable skills (doctorates, degrees, etc) are told by Immigration Canada that the country needs people with their skills. However, it's only AFTER they move here that they find out their foreign credentials are worthless in Canada. It's all a big scam and IC should be ashamed of themselves for selling would-be newcomers a bill of goods.

100%. Not just students. Many industries are complaining about this. Logistics companies are the main issue as Sask is a problem maker as well issuing zero license for temp foreign farm workers just after the Humboldt crash. BC allowing foreign investment and stopping it cold turkey. These foreign investors have moved inward where they will continue to manipulate the economy until canada makes harsher sentencing for foreign interference and investment. We need more incentives and laws to keep manufacturing in Canada instead of allowing 3rd world outsourcing.

This means that there is no national education policy in Canada, unlike a lot of comparable nations. This means it is very difficult to plan, and educate the work force to fulfill anticipated needs. The solution? Put it on the list! Immigration Canada has a list of jobs that Canada needs to fill. If you would like to immigrate to Canada, and you have work history or education for something on the list, you're in! This is much easier that investing in Canadians and planning 5-10 years ahead. If we need more nurses...put it on the list! If we need more engineers...put it on the list! If we have too many already...take it off the list. A lot of immigrants are disappointed when they get here, because from the outside, Canada seems great. Yes, it is a very safe country, and has a lot going for it. But people may be surprised to find that they have been allowed into the country, to fill jobs no one else wants. And it's a lot of work to move here from another country, so immigrants tend to get stuck in a bad situation.

you need to move to china for living for a year or 2, and then go back to Canada, you will be thankful for the price of commodities in Canada. form a guy spent 24 years in china. and i was a Trader whos making $50K a years when i was living in china. can't afford to eat salmon and beef, if you insist to do it, you can spend 200 -- 300 a day just by eating. in Canada i can eat salmon and beef three meals a day for the rest my life and won't affect my quality of life.

Came as a refugee 16 years ago it was a dream come true but 16 years later and 3 childern all born here in Toronto.... It's sad that so many Canadians have to move from their hometowns/provinces in droves to financially survive and get ahead a little. Unfortunately, the droves of people fleeing Ontario and BC are driving up prices now (to buy/rent) in other parts of Canada like Alberta and Atlantic Canada where this is having a trickle effect creating Albertans, Nova Scotians, etc. to be homeless and strains on their provincial healthcare systems. It's a sad state of affairs, and I do not think a politician can fix this, unless they start demanding more and curtailing the power of corporations. A big rebalance needs to occur, but it seems unlikely when politicians and business leaders are on the same side (aka corruption / conflict of their own interests). Canada needs a division between government and business which is the case in many Scandinavian countries.

This has been going on for thousands of years of the colonizing of a country. Newcomers to Canada are colonizing Canada and local citizens are being asked to step aside for the newcomers need room to move in. Newcomers are taking all of the jobs because their numbers are growing because they are coming into the country every day. The fact should be that only third generation citizens should be able to own property in the country. Newcomers to Canada should be renting and not owning property.

I lived in vegas for a very short time, it was planned to be living there but we went back to Canada. I am dual citizen either way. I will say that i like what that robert bigalow was doing with the budget suites. I stayed there temporarily. It would be so awesome for canada to do this for the housing crisis. It was back in 2005 but it was $500 rent each month and there wasnt huge barriers to be able to rent. \n\nHealth care was scary yes, im not used to that kind of way being indigenous and having my status card. The point is looks like either you do not need development or economy to be improved. For robbery of $10 in Brampton speaks of people being sick of lonely and lack of basic savings or being lazy. As an Indian who came to Canada five minutes ago, the solution is simple. You need to move into a home with 30-40 people. Then you will have the finances to find a solution, so simple!

I lived in Canada for 14 years . Thankfully I have finally moved out . I don’t regret my decision I can see a doctor when I need it and the police do their job . I miss the country from time to time since I spent most of my adult life there but I’m better off where I am now . I have a stable job and can afford a place to live.

And also in the end there isn't much consumer protection in the US. Many businesses have quite shady ways of getting your money out there. We feel a lot safer financially in Canada although there are breaches here too sometimes. I believe you need to make a good combined $300,000 depending where you live in order to make a good living in the US but the only reason why I would move really is for the climate although I would move to Mexico before moving to the US because generally speaking, Mexicans are friendlier. Very generally speaking.

The second just keeps rising on the back of housing, food, amenities, and inflation: the four horsemen.\n\n2. Our grocery cabal ruthlessly raise prices whenever we look away, and their lobbyists are all ensconced within the leadership of our three major parties, particularly the Conservatives (so if anyone thinks that electing them will help, they're in for a nasty surprise).\n\n3. We're experiencing 'labour shrinkflation': increasing duties are downloaded onto workers and more is expected: more productivity, more availability (almost 24/7 in some jobs), and higher qualifications. Meanwhile, real wages are decreasing relative to living cost, more positions are 'contract', which is basically a way for employers to not have to give you benefits, and job security is tenuous for a lot of people.\n\n4. Houses are being bought by investors and not owners. Foreign entities are money laundering. The wealthy upper crust of high population countries are moving here and buying property because Canada is (still) more safe and stable and less repressive than their home countries in most cases. \n\n5. There's a cycle beginning: as people are squeezed and forced to spend more on 'needs', they spend less on eating out, entertainment, and other 'wants'. They can raise their prices, of course, but then they price people out completely and their profits still tank. I went to a decent steakhouse for my dad's 60th last week. I can't remember the last time that I went to one before that. \n\n6. Our politicians and news cycles focus on the most niche and irrelevant stuff because it'll stoke anger and get tongues wagging. This carbon thing is almost a non-issue, but our conservative leader is harping on about it like it's singlehandedly the death of the Canadian economy when it's a drop in the bucket. Trudeau focuses on 'equity' measures, hoping for a bit of cheap good press, while his efforts are, for the most part, just window dressing and the issues, while meaningful, are often not of paramount importance or even applicable to the vast majority of the people who elected him. Meanwhile, the middle class is pretty much evaporating as he speaks. The NDP keep talking about this in a pretty real way, for what it's worth, but Jagmeet Singh is giving off an increasing vibe of just being another fat cat politician beneath his rhetoric these days. Also, third-party trolls and screeching conservatives try to bury him on social media whenever he speaks... a lot more than other leaders as well, oddly. I wonder why? Oh yeah, the Greens exist and there's Quebec and the conspiracy theory party.\n\n\nUltimately, what we're experiencing is the revenge of the feudal system. Instead of paying rents to your lord and doing labour on the land for him whenever commanded to, you pay rent to your landlord now and go to work even when you're sick or when work hours are over because you have no union protection or are working 'on contract'. Unless we want to live in the armpit of nowhere, 95% of us are going to be wage slaves living hand-to-mouth, not owning our own property, and working to please our corporate overlords if current trends continue unchecked. While some of Canada's problems are unique, I fear that most aren't. As for me, I'm headed to the 'armpit of nowhere' where I can at least have a ghost of a chance of affording life.

My capital gains on investments is around 15%. I get free health care (which while obviously not free - is paid out of my taxes, yet isn't rationed or in-network restrictions, doesn't have copays and cover 90% of my medical needs). I have a government that even at its worst, is orders of magnitude more rational and public serving than the US (and god help you if Trump gets back in). Not to mention a country that doesn't literally have a major gun violence/mass shooting even EVERY FRICKING WEEK, unlike the US.\n\nAnd yes, I live in Metro Van and I have an 850 sq ft two bedroom apt I'm renting for $1250/mo - so maybe the problem isn't simply that the housing market is too tight (which it is), but that you've picked a city in high demand that's boxed in on four sides - ocean to the west, mountains to the north, US border to the south and what little farmland the lower mainland can sustain to the east. The processing times is what Canada needs to seriously look at. Once that is done, immigrants won't like to move. At point your life can just come to a halt all in the name of processing on the part of Government. To renew a work permit may take between 3 and 6 months to be done. Apply for travel document and it takes forever. PR processing is the worse as it can take up to 4 years. Too much frustrations

The unbelievable lack of any common sense is non-existent. I live in rural Alberta. The hatred for Trudeau is very evident. I was once a proud Canadian. I am now ashamed of what Trudeau has done to this country. He has bankrupted the country which is close to collapsing. He has opened the floodgates to all immigrants mostly Eastern Asians from India and elsewhere. They have brought with them in fighting from their country. There's not enough infrastructure to house or feed these people. The prices of groceries are out of this world. We often see a lack of grocery items in the stores. I have to purchase products online like Amazon. In the province of Alberta, there are no family Drs. to be had. The city of Edmonton has about 6 or 7 Drs. taking new patients. I would not recommend anyone to move to Canada. I would wait until the PC government gets into power and starts to rebuild this country. We need a government that has their feet firmly on the ground.

I read a statistic somewhere that %60 of Canadians age 18 to 60 live with their parents because they are either unemployed (like me) or can't afford to rent an apartment. I have currently been unemployed in Canada for the last year and I keep applying to jobs but have never gotten so much as an acknowledgement from any of the employers I have applied to. I only need another 10 months of experience with an employer to get my license to work on my own; and I can't do it! I am thinking of moving to the U.S.A. I just don't want to be unemployed anymore.

Cost of living in Canada is higher than the US? Have you...actually ever been to the US? Or, looked at statistics like the CPI? @Harrison, there a bunch of holes in your story an thus superficial or lacking, yet has potential to be more Canadian in that you need to differentiate a bit more, attention in the details that you may have missed, votebank, Punjab province certain cluster of uncouth or gang type, instead of drawing in all religions and races and the best educated like how the US does with it, instead of a votebank cluster, that make up only 3% of the Indian population, yet 50% of Brampton, yet Canada is slower to do such. As I hope you know that, in that in Canada a city doesn’t usually choose newcomers directly factors of, ethnocentrism, pricing, etc are.  \n\nIt was or used to be that newcomers in many cases had to move to less populated centres i.e. in Saskatchewan/Manitoba etc, to help make the place more profitable and big as born Canadians usually didn’t want to move there. I've wanted to move to Canada since my childhood. The first time I tried was when I was 22 years old; I received a scholarship for Humber College. Unfortunately, my dream was postponed because I broke my leg. I attempted again at 25 years old, but I didn't have enough money for a comfortable immigration process. So, I decided to accumulate more funds and try again.\n\nNow, at 30 years old, I find myself in a different situation. I've just bought a big house, and I'm living a simple, calm life in Eastern Europe. Here, I have everything I need: a safe environment, the freedom to travel wherever I want, and minimal taxes in my industry. Healthcare is excellent, with no waiting times, and the food is amazing.\n\nDespite these comforts, I still have the opportunity to move to Canada. But I find myself questioning why I was so obsessed with it since childhood. I realize that I earn more in my home country than the average Canadian, even after taxes and rent. Perhaps Canada nowadays is more appealing to individuals from India, the Middle East, and Africa. If I were from these regions, I might still consider moving there. However, moving from Europe to Canada seems like the biggest mistake I could make right now. \n\nCons of Canada: 1) Misconception about communism. 2) High taxes, up to 50% in some cases. 3) Expensive rents(we all know u won't be able to buy anything decent there. 4) Perception of social conformity among Canadians, where sensitive topics may not be openly discussed for fear of judgment. 5) Disparity between the country's overall wealth and the financial struggles faced by some citizens.\n\nPros of Canada: well, I didn't find anything I could not find in other countries developed countries.

Canada hid its inflation in the housing market for a decade. The economy appeared to be growing, and real wages appeared to be staying in line with the consumer price index, but it was smoke and mirrors. If you removed real estate, GDP was stagnant. Wages were actually falling behind and people getting poorer and poorer without realising it. That’s finally become unsustainable, and inflation is showing up everywhere. And the wages are still stuck. The country is sitting on hugely valuable resources it could develop had it not put so many self-created political barriers in the way, and having indoctrinated their population about it along the way. Separately, The healthcare system is getting worse, consistently ranking 2nd last in the OECD in terms of real results delivered. The biggest problem is that the country’s economy is built on immigration to drive growth, rather than productivity, efficiency, or innovation. The more people you bring in, the more housing you need, but they’re at the point that they can’t keep up and people can hardly afford housing anyways. It’s a recipe for disaster. I left Canada by coincidence, having met someone from another country and moved there. I’m glad I left.

You're free to judge but I have not seen any Indian/ Asian/ Latino immigrant homeless. Indians bring high skill in IT, banking and medicine which Canada desperately needs. Latino/ European ethnic immigrants also work very hard (construction/ farms etc.) and support their families and children. These basic skills keeps Canada running. Immigrant children are the highest number of graduate degree holders. Students line up in hundreds because they are willing to work and make a mark. They stand in freezing weather for hours just to try their luck. That's dedication. The only homeless I have seen are Canadians/ Native Americans even when the govt. pays millions in welfare and development programs to get their life back on track. Also, all these immigrants pay thousands of dollars to come to Canada (Visa fees, plane tickets, moving expenses) so that they can pay taxes to Canadians. Why are you crying all the time just they are not into cold pasta?

I am American born. Came to Canada in 1981 after marrying a Cdn girl. Also, I became a Canadian in 1989, holding on to two citizenships. Fast forward 20 years, and divorce finally showed up. I moved back Stateside when my brother had his 2nd heart attack, to help him with every day things. I was there 10 years before finally moving back to Canada. I knew I would always move back to Canada anyway. Life is just less stressful here. Less to worry about. No fighting for retirement like so many do in the USA for their Social Security for example. No fighting for disability if you need that here. Concerns like that are well looked after in Canada, helping to make sure everyone can live a reasonable standard and quality of life without a battle to do so. The social structure is safer as well. No big gun issues. In the States, I had a reaction to ALEVE which forced me into hospital. 7 hours in, and 5,000 later, I was released. 700 for the EMT ride as well. 1/2 mile ride. In 2017, I had a mild heart attack in Canada. 7 days in. MRI's and every other test you can imagine was done. My total bill was 49 .00. That was for parking, as I drove myself the few blocks to the hospital. It was the only time I had to be in hospital in the 30 years i've been in Canada and I was thankful that we all pitch in to take care of each other with out healthcare. The USA is fine for some but it's no Canada :)

Listen as a minority person who is proud of my heritage but grew up here with immigrant parents who were given refuge in Canada, I can understand immigration. But...its getting out of hand, most of them are from India, most of them have homes in India and often return there for long vacations, These are not refugees or a diverse spread of peoples coming here. I am not hateful in any way but sometimes you have to tell it like it is, A lot of these people are not adapting to the culture here, why? Because most of them are grown already and are used to their own customs, with an ever increasing population now living here they don't really feel the need to learn or adapt because there are less regular Canadians. When I was in school it was already pretty multi-cultural and diverse although yes in my area there are less asians and black people, we had a lot of European(Serbian/Romanian) in particular. Now I go to the store and it's like 80% brown/Indian people lol, even my neighbors, most have moved out and more indian families are moving in. My city is expanding into like a mini Toronto when we can't even handle it, people cant even find jobs, people need all this other stuff, Its just too many all at once, crime rates have gone up over the last few years, this doesn't help anyone, immigrants either.

Growing up in Brampton most of my life and now being able to travel for work I say let them have it. Brampton is over priced and over crowded. High crime rate. No night life. Only a handful of choices for cuisine. Canada is an enormous country and the real shame is not being able to move to another city as easy as it should be when a good for nothing one gets invaded the way Brampton has. I’m currently out in Woodstock and all the new houses in the north of the city is ALL Indians. On any nice day you’d think the neighborhood park is little India with all the aunties and uncles at the benches. The damage is done, this country’s immigration system needs a complete overhaul.

A giant false idol on Canada soil, no different than planting a flag of a conquering army. Is this to let Canadians know this land has been taken, or is this directed towards all the other groups from the 3rd world moving into that area, that India has claimed that land for themselves? I was born and raised in Canada and in my 60’s now. I can’t afford to live here anymore, healthcare has declined, personal safety, fuel costs, insurance etc. most of all our politics are a mess on all three major parties. The Liberals are a royal mess and inflation went through the roof. They’re just running around like the 3 blind mice making fools of themselves. The Conservatives are involving themselves in a right wing romance with fascist trumpianism and think poutine is an ok guy. The hate speech is unreal. We used to be a real chill country. I have young 20 somethings telling me they think Communism is a great idea and they would rather fight for poutine if a war breaks out. Well it’s their future not mine. The AI, bots and trolls on the internet are telling them what they want to hear in order to stir up hate and entitlement. The NDP (New Democratic Party) is neither here nor there, they’re kind of always the minority and swing both the other two parties to divide the vote and gain some form of temporary power. \nI’d like to see a politician that has the balls to stand up to the dictators of this world that shit disturb in every continent because they are such little insecure bastards that they think they can conquer it. I’ve got news for them. Every single dictator in history has failed… miserably and often brutally. We need the kind of leadership in our Country that can produce good governance. Our GDP is just under $60K. The dictators out there are rubbing their greedy little hands, for if there is ever a 3rd world war, Canada will be the prize. We are loaded with resources. Land mass, water, minerals, oil and gas, technology, geographic strategic stronghold etc. Don’t let it slip into the hands of fascists, communists, dictators or totalitarians they always make it worse so that it takes a lifetime to recover. I’ve spent 40 yrs in the workforce, and listened to countless people from every continent who told me the truth about why they left their homeland. People who survived WW2, the Korean War, Vietnam War, communist China, expansionism of the USSR, the caste system and political persecution in India and Bangladesh. Political unrest in Argentina and Chile. I have personally witnessed systemic racism in the USA and Canada. \nI don’t have anything tying me down to stay here so I will be moving on. I think I’ll just become a nomad tourist for a while.

There's definitely a money threshold in Canada you NEED to make to .... have fun and live well. If you're a lifetime renter, or entry level worker.... it doesn't make sense. My family is established from previous happy decades. But even for us there is stagnation and living on savings (many family members moved back to EU, and I'm thinking of it as I'm fluent in many languages there). Imagine people starting new RIGHT NOW.... makes me sad that most Canadians will never had a backyard. Godspeed everyone.

I have had relatives and acquaintances who moved to the USA. They had a visas to work in Maine in the sixties and seventies. They got drafted during the Vietnam era. One did not go back and they other did two years in the US army during the Vietnam war. They moved back to Canada, after he finished his 2 years, he moved back to Canada. The one who did not report for service to the army, moved to,Ontario, and the guy who served two years moved back for Canada, and his wife needs health care that they couldn't afford in the USA..

I think Canada needs less commumism and more real canadian culture. When i moved in 3 years ago everything felt extremely artificial, confusing, and depressing. Like everyone was on the brink of going crazy. I am glad I came back to my country Italy.
