Browsing through the net for job opportunities, confined to a small room at high costs, finally if and when they are been called for one or two interviews at most despite forwarding more than 100 resumes, at the interviews they will be offered lower than the minimum wage for parttime workers. What a crime\n Here I am talking about fully qualified and experienced, as well as fluent English Speakers, actually better English skills than both of you here presenting this program. What a scam, first they say that English fluency is essential has introduced different Examination to assess the English fluency standard.. it is a big scam...while Canada has favoured immigrants from certain parts of the globe. It is height of cheek of Canadian Authorities to offer lower wages , lower than the minimum wage stipulated by the labour laws, also as you emphasise here, high living standard's, High paying jobs, high Health standards. All these gimmicks are being utilised to discourage the applicants and to force the genuine Credential Holders who could definitely contribute to boost the Economy in a fruitful manner to leave the country and to force them to get back into their home countrues. In that case why did the Federal Governments of Canada created a delusion to migrants from around the globe stating that there is an acute labour shortage in certain high demanding job categories, encouraging all such applicants to apply through the Skilled labour Program introduced by the Federal Government of Canada,. as if there are shiploads of opportunities available just for geabs.\nSuch individuals are driven to state of utter despair or forced to get back to their home countries whereas here the federal Government of Canada is granting Asylum to all sorts of unskilled , uneducated and sometimes no literacy nor basic communication skills in English at all at the expense of the taxes and high tuition fees acquired from the student population as well as PR Holders who has incurred massive expenditure through the federal Government's detailed and tough assessment procedures just to gain entry under the stipulated visa categories. Whilst all such individuals who has made a genuine effort by using their own reserves and during their stay pay high consumer taxes and high rent are being denied to gain employment but certain uneducated hooligans and certain communities are allowed to enter Canada Scot free as Asylum Seekers through the IRCC refugee and immigration act and Asylum Seeker Act.\nHow unfair and unrealistic...\nWhen you present such videos be aware of your content as not only the Canadians are contributing to the Federal Governments tax schemes. Low skill and low wage might have been ok when costs were low - low food prices, low energy prices, low housing and rental costs, etc. Now that everything is incredibly expensive, Canada is stuck between a rock and a hard place. Either wages will go up (which have been fairly stagnant for the last 30-40 years) so that it goes above and beyond inflation, OR you will not be able to bring in low skill, low wage labor. Simply put, when rents are $3000 a month in Toronto, minimum wage of $15/hr is $2500/mth (before taxes). Add another $1000/mth for food, and $500/mth for other expeditures - and you can see that just to survive - a person in Toronto needs a minimum of $4500/mth to not be on the streets. And this is IFF they are not married and have kids which can easily drive expenses to $6000/mth\n\nSo... for someone to just live normally, they need a bare minimum of $30/hr for 2000hr/year - this is a salary of $60K before taxes!\n\nBut the median income in Canada is 35K to 40K (it's on your tax return which determines if you get extra help from the government).\n\nSo... with these prices - you will never get low wage workers here... period. You can't expect immigrants to work as slaves and then pull your country out of the mess you created by spending money on useless programs like a drunken sailor.\n\nCut costs, cut taxes, cut inflation (stop printing money), cut useless programs (ala DOGE in the US), allow housing to crash, diversify your economy, invest in start ups and entrepreneurs, increase salaries, scrap the carbon tax, etc. Notice - none of these have anything to do with immigration.

Canada seriously needs a country cap for immigration, like the US does. In 2023, there were 139k new permanent residents from India, compared to the second largest which was china at 31k. This is not normal

Thank you for summarizing these key changes! Many problems are actually the Canadian immigration system not learning from the mistakes of the US system and now it’s suffering the same consequences. If Canada cuts down on those selected immigrations but still takes in refugees, it’s only going to make anti-immigrant sentiment worse. Selected immigrants are allowed into Canada to help alleviate Canadian issues…or at least people who come through Express Entry are less likely to become a burden. On the other hand, refugees, given their unfortunate circumstances, really need to rely on a lot of social services and resources to help them resettle. The US has eliminated pretty much all non-humanitarian immigration that’s why immigrants are so demonized there. Americans only feel the drags of refugees and asylum seekers (even though ethically we need to protect them) and there is no selected immigration to balance that out. Yet this round of Canadian policy change is heading exactly that direction.\n\nIt used to be international students in Canada are not paying a lot more tuition than Canadian students. But Canadian universities saw how much money universities in the US are making so they asked the federal government to change the policy to enable them to charge international students several times the regular tuition (whereas in countries like France, international students actually pay less than citizens). So now Canadian universities rely too much on international students to operate and it becomes an exploitative relationship even before students step foot on the campus. The new PGWP eligibility is awful because students can make contributions in every field. It might (and that's a big if) address the pressing problems, but it won't help Canada grow.\n\nI thought the new language requirement was interesting. Some Canadians who immigrated decades ago when the bar was really low still speak English poorly and now they are saying people can’t come to Canada because their language skills are not sufficient. Another point about language is if you apply through Express Entry now, even if you scored the highest language score, given how competitive the pool is, you still won’t get selected. So it’s a given that you need to be fluent in one of the languages at least to get an invitation. Express Entry also selects only the top people, I saw the head of The Institute for Canadian Citizenship in interviews talking about those top-tier people only expect the best treatment/lifestyle when they come to Canada. That's why many of them leave after seeing these Canadian problems play out. But I believe a good Canadian life is not about living in a high rise in Vancouver and Toronto, driving an expensive car, or buying luxury items...it's about the communities, nature and middle-class comfort. So the system is giving PRs to the wrong kind of people (just like mismatched people when hiring that don't align with company values).\n\nThis brings me to the last frustrating issue. There were so many people who attended “fake” universities and bought “fake” jobs to earn points to get an Express Entry invitation. And it's clear that the government wasn't proactively catching these abuses. They are taking up spots from those who try to earn the points fair and square. If I understand correctly, Canada doesn’t send these people away if they are found out (since some of them were scammed). So they still take up immigration quotas.\n\nI have wanted to move to Canada for a long time. I have visited Canada many times, hiking trails through the coastline and fjords, climbing mountains and glaciers. I lived in Montreal for two months to improve my French and I was told by my homestay family that I was the first student they had who didn’t complain about the cold (I wish the winter never ends so I can skate or xc ski in the parks year-round). I have probably seen more Canada than many Canadians and I love every bit of it. But the opportunity for me to even get a shot to move there is pretty much nonexistent now. Hello Anna and Anastasia your channel is truly a hidden gem full of useful information and insight. I am an international student myself and I agree with all your points in the video, Canada used immigration to fix a deeper problem and that is its difficulty to incentivize the economy by having a heavily regulated environment, high taxes and low productivity. It will definitely alleviate some of the pressure on the system but, the real cause is still there. The first sector that is going to be affected will be the education as colleges and universities became over reliant with the revenue coming from Int. Students (which is not particularly small) and institution will need to adapt. When I first came here I fell in love with the country and I really feel fortunate to enjoy this beautiful place and doing everything to assimilate and integrate myself into the culture. I think here you can have a sense of hope of things improving in the future (something that is not the case in my home country) but if they do not fix the underlying problem it does not matter how much immigration they reduce, Canadians will not see a significant improvement. Trump’s strict immigration policies will stop illegal migration from Canada and other countries and they need to stop having that better life in the USA mentality because they don’t have the meaningful job skills to earn a decent wage or don’t have a fancy college degree to get a six figure salary; they need to remain in their own countries and try their best to survive.

You are mostly talking about the big cities. I will bet that things haven't changed that much is your small town in Saskatchewan. Too many people are gravitating to the large cities. The wealth of our nation was built with our farms, mines, forests, etc. Trades people and farmers built this country. Emma, we need to not forget that most whites are also immigrants. How many of them are in Canada illegally or do they just get free acceptance as a Canadians from Europe. They always get everything free when they get into America. I do not hear of white Europeans as immigrants in other nations countries.

I have ethnic background from Hong Kong and have been living in Canada for almost 40 years. I love Canada and am proud of this beautiful country. However, I think part of the immigration problem we have is the ongoing issue of allowing dual citizenship of everyone who have become a Canadian citizen. I have personally known lots of HK immigrants who would return to their own countries to work as soon as they have got their Canadian passports. Normally one of the parents would stay with their children here for free schooling, medical care and child tax benefits. Their children will follow their parents to go back to HK after they graduated from universities in order to avoid the higher income tax . Unfortunately, those parents will come back to retire in Canada so that they can get free health care benefits and OAS once they have fulfilled the residency requirement of 10 years. Canada do need more skilled and educated immigrants to make our country more prosperous but not those who try to take advantage of our lenient immigration policies. I think we should take back the passports of those who have left Canada for more than 2 years or those who have evaded taxes so that we do not continue to support those never contributed to our country. PS, I mentioned about HK only because of my origin and I believe the same problem would be caused by immigrants from other countries too.

Two massive, now irreversible problems. \n\nForeign (Chinese) real estate acquisitions/treating homes in Canada strictly as investments. Case in point, thousands upon thousands of empty condos in greater Vancouver. Which equates to a shortage of housing for people that have lived here and paid taxes their entire life, as a Canadian. Foreign real estate speculation and land purchasing has not only been allowed, AND encouraged, new properties/condos are being marketed in China well before they are IN Vancouver! Now, it's too late to plug the leak. Thus, rampant homelessness. \n\nCompletely irresponsible immigration policy. Nobody in their right mind would deny that a multicultural country like Canada needs immigrants. Especially with the aging population. But as far as accommodating/housing these people, we're not even close to being on target. i'm happy there are people here who agree, but having your voice heard only as a youtube comment is not the answer. do you know how countries in europe managed to get ahead in healthcare? patients went to the press with recorded videos about their experience. and yes, initially the journalists dismissed this as non news, but it only needed one to go with it. and it made waves. now a 2hr wait in the ER in europe is met by the tv crew. \ncanadians refuse to do it. when i came to canada 25 years ago a 2hr wait was normal. now it's 9hrs and still no discontent voices. no politician is running on healthcare, but on cutting taxes and on giving back a few hundred dollars a year back to the families. and most are eating it up! \nbecause healthcare is public, doctors and their union have 0 incentive of allowing more professionals into the system, because they all share the same pie. there are families who do not have a family doctor and are forced to use clinics, even with newborn babies. my family doctor works a regular job, doesn't answer the phone after 3:30 (even though they are open until 4), has 2-half days (one is a golf day btw) and overall couldn't give a F about patients. on that high salary in any other industry, you'd be on call 24/7. \nand then there's housing, jobs, the education system is a mess - more and more people are worried about what these kids are learning and there is 0 incentive from any of the politicians to address the issue.\nand, of course, there is forced immigration. when we came it used to be a merit system, you had to bring in money to prove you won't be a burden to welfare for at least a year. it's definitely not the case now. \npeople look at PP as some kind of saviour, but he's not going to fix anything. usually conservatives are good for corporations, whilst liberals balance their policies with the needs of the common folk. how far they've fallen.

However, as soon as the hk pathyway people landed, they enjoyed the same benefits immediately as the locals(liked free education, local student fee for university, Child care benefits) which the locals felt were unfair. The days they (hk pathway people)contributed in Canada are very short, and the benefits they receive are far greater than the taxes and contributions they pay. The locals just feel that the benefits they enjoy today are indeed the contributions they have made to society (including paying taxes) over the years. Yes the woke media thinks that Canadians should assimilate to the immigrants coming here but they don’t think the immigrants should assimilate to Canada. That won’t end well for Canada. If you moved to a different to a country you would be expected to assimilate to their culture and values, and you would out of respect. Canadians should expect the same level of respect. Canada, you need to WAKE UP. Ive visited toronto and montreal for the nightlife scene and it was a blast before they started coming in mass. Cultural diversity is great but this is basically taking over a country without a single shot being fired. This silent invasion of mass indians needs to stop. Canada needs a balanced immigration and each year countries around of the world should have equal quota for true diversifation. Right now, most immigrants are from Asia and they live in their ghettos.

Government should have done this much earlier , yes Canada may need immigrants but not those who can’t follow the rules of this land and the ones who thinks that they are still in there home country and don’t want to change them self . This isn't just a white or black thing it's an out of control immigration system where people use loopholes in the system to gain residency. This anti-immigration isn't isolated in fact most immigrants who's lived in Canada all their lives have expressed deep concern that the government is letting in too many from one nation and the lopsided admittance is part of the concern. The metrics of the majority of new immigrants come from the Middle East and India how can anyone not notice the concern that many have been expressing for a decade. Canadians aren't against immigrants it's that we didn't expect to just let anyone in without actually knowing how to speak English or have etiquette and follow laws. Myself I've notice a skyrocketing scam scheme and how can you not equate that to the rise in our broken immigration policy. The last time I heard you had to have certain criteria to be considered to immigrate and why is that some countries like from the South Pacific you need to know English have money in the bank and a skill or degree on a list of acceptable qualifications. So many who can't even read or write English have jobs, drive a car, then to make matters worse have housing yet we have a crisis? Most Canadians see the pattern and most are educated enough to know there is something to be said, loopholes and when they find it they abuse the system.

A significant driver of Canada’s housing affordability problem is the treatment of housing as an investment rather than a basic human need. Housing has increasingly been treated as an investment rather than just a place for people to live. Homes are seen as vehicles for wealth accumulation rather than places to live. This approach has attracted large institutional investors (multinational corporations) who buy up properties, raising prices and squeezing out potential homeowners, especially first-time buyers. This problem iget worse because of the use of homes as a tax shelter, benefiting those with capital to invest in markets like Vancouver and Toronto. Greed and profit. Failure of our government to ignore this issue and dodge their obligation of providing a country where Canadians can live reasonable and thrive. Unfortunately it's happening around the world. Immigrants are NOT causing the problem. They are the scapegoat.

You do know, that while Canada already been giving the Skilled Workers the preferential treatment fir decades, many of the Doctors, Engineers, Nurses, etc are unable to get a job of their training, bc they must write expensive, long exams! \n\nIf they had been out of the University for years, this is not easy to do! They need to support their families, study again and save Thousands of $$$ to pay for and write these exams! Canada makes it difficult for them to work in their field! \n\nThey receive many promises from the Canadian Immigration Department, which often does not deliver! A valid example, those with the Master’s Degrees, too often, receive only the Bachelor Degree equivalency in Canada, despite the promise of their degrees and experience in the field to be honoured! It’s an unjust and an unfair system! An Engineer driving a Taxi! Many, many such examples! \n\nThat’s why many highly-educated immigrants are working as taxi drivers, delivering food, or in under -educated jobs, etc! I met a hospital Medical Lab Tech, who was a Doctor in his birth country!! Another immigrant was a Lab Tech working as a Lab Assistant! Still, another immigrant with a Master’s Degree and experience in the Medical Cancer Research working as a Lab Assistant! \n\nThe bills don’t wait until they write the new exams, save the required money and qualify, etc!!

Immigration is ongoing Colonization. And Canadians are MAD, because you have allowed for people from countries with HIGH RATES of pro-sexually violent cultural views, and low standards of hygiene and politeness into our country. And you let them come here as students and take up first world spots for first world Canadians. And FYI, there is tons of sexual violence on university campuses…so that tracks. \nYou let these people who are anti-dark skin into the country, and then you say because they are “racialized” they can’t be racist. That’s not how racism works, and I want my racists to be domestic, because then at least we share a cultural thread of unity: Canadian born and raised. Why are we being subjected to this B.S?? \nGOC has not created a way for us to report immigrants who are rude or abusive to Canadians, and who have over-stayed their visas. DEPORT THEM. When they commit crimes, instead of deporting them, you let them stay. They’re old women are also crooks and in on it. Imagine bringing the people who call and scam from Indian and Nigeria to Canada so they can just do it from here. Wild. And the Chinese (not Asians, I mean the Chinese)…are the colonizers of their part of the world, AND they cheat in schools. So you’re giving graduates spots to cheaters, liars, anti-Canadian, and racists. Canada never had a diversity problem, we had a supremacy problem, and we still do. And Canadian DOES NOT MEAN WHITE. So stop making this a race thing. \nYou let them snap up our houses and our land and jack up the prices, and force us into homelessness and prostitution to pay rent, and into drug addictions because of a lack of purpose. So the GOC literally just implemented the same strategy they used to place indigenous people onto reserves, but now it’s for all Canadians. And make no mistake: high rents for bento-box “luxury”/rat infested housing are min-reserves that are not built for Canadian bodies or our aging/disabled population. \nDEPORT THEM AND REFRAIN FROM GIVING THESE ANCHOR BABIES CITIZENSHIP. If they come here to have their babies, instead of giving them a Canadian birth certificate, you should be getting that certificate from their consulate. Cause at this point that’s just trafficking and financial fraud/abuse. We all know they come here to get the benefits and the domestic tuition, and a lot go right back to China. And it does seem to be the Chinese, Indians, and Nigerians (a lovely EDI mix) of thieves. \nCanada has spoken, we don’t want them, we don’t like them; and they do not like us, they want us out of our own country. This isn’t a racial issue; this is a cultural issue. You cannot have these anti-West people in our western nation. They gotta go. And who cares about the international students anymore or the money “they bring in”. Universities are registered not-for-profits in Canada, so the for-profit argument can’t track. \nCanada needs a RICO law so we can more easily seize their assets and expel them, and hold universities to the fire for this crap, and the government officials getting kickbacks. The GOC is the largest human trafficking pimps, and the universities are bottom bi***es. And don’t think we don’t know that the 30% cap DOESN’T apply to companies like Navitas who recruit for the universities, are housed in the universities, but are separate, private companies.

Diversity wasn't our strength, Canadian values were. Don't ever let anyone tell you canada doesn't have culture. We had a bright culture of men bejng men, woman being woman, kindness, kindness to your fellow neighbour's, pride our national game of hocker. Love of winter and al things nature related. We are the north, and that was the culture we built in for generations. Immigrants need to to adapt and learn our culture that's why you can't let in That many from ones country all at once. They never assimilate they just make pockets of India everywhere.

Along with these measures make sure those who are here (some fraudulently) follow the Canadian rules. Make it official to hire Canadians born & raised. Other countries are doing it. There is a cost for everyone that is here. Are they paying enough taxes? Sweden is paying $45000 to every immigrant to leave. Canada needs to look at the cost-benefit ratio. Immigration is not a right, it is a permission given by host country.

I do believe in immigration. Canada was built on immigrants and they are a huge part of Canadas identity. THat being said we need to have proper housing and infrastructure for the people we take in. To bring people into the country when we don't have jobs, housing, and overload the health care and other facilities is just bad decision making. I am against closing the doors forever but when we have room for more then we take more until that time we will have to reduce or shutdown the immigration flow.

People who only blame immigrants have no idea how low the birth rate is in Canada. Just think how many families with children there are. Without these immigrants the country's population would be in decline, like in Korea and Japan. Immigration cannot be zero simply because the country needs it. But it is true that everything has gotten out of control. Policies must be reviewed to avoid fraud and saturation of services.

2:20 bringing in the 3rd world is NOT the solution to our aging demographic problem. We need to encourage young Canadians to have more children by offering affordable housing, lower taxes and higher paycheques. If in the future Canada was ever to go to war these immigrants and refugees assholes will tuck their tails between their legs and run to another country. We need a population that is patriotic and will fight to defend Canada.

Indians are amazing when it comes to skills and hard work. The way Brampton has been taken over by Indians. Similarly, Markham has been taken over by Chinese. Mississauga has a lot of Pakistanis and this country is the country of immigrants. Indians are playing a major role in the local market, Of Canada, Indians are smart, intelligent, intelligent, and hard-working people who don’t do drugs or any nonsense. Real international student brings money and high quality people to Canada. However,there are some students coming to Canada aiming to work and to gain income back home. Why entrepreneurs and start up programs that can bring money to Canada takes years (over 3 years) to process and the number of applications is shrinking. Canada needs money to sustains the economy. Importing thousands and thousands of servants but not enough money to pay? Why don’t they look into the infrastructure and the system of the country when planning their immigration policies? The money behind these policies must be big.

I can tell you one of the major reasons. It is the fact that these immigrants from India do not want to assimilate into Canada. Instead they bring their ways with them into Canada and some of those “ways”, are not acceptable in Canada. One example of that is the whole using the bathroom on the beach. But one that hits hard for me is the insane amount of immigrants that are harvesting spawning salmon with nets, without any of the properly paperwork that is needed to fish salmon with a rod. Using a net is illegal, I know they know it because when I catch them doing this. They become quiet and all of a sudden, after hearing them just speaking English, they pretend they do not know English… I can tell you this is all true. The other thing I have seen with my eyes is shop lifting from the local grocery store. I have never seen that before, not ever in all my years living here. It would be somewhat different if they were stealing essential items and essential foods. But they are not doing that, they are stealing all the luxury items. I am a white Canadian and I am proud of it, but guess what. I am also proud of the fact that I have a doctor that came from India and his family is thriving here. It makes me proud that he chose our country try to come to, with his educational background, it also makes me proud that he and his family have taken the time to try and assimilate into our culture. When I say assimilate by the way, I do not want them or and immigrant to completely abandon their cultures, I just would prefer it if they assimilate to the point where we can have a healthy community instead of all these separate cultural areas in our towns and cities. I love the fact that you spoke some harsh truths here sir, much respect to you and your family sir. I hope you can continue making such informative videos for people to learn from. The other thing I have to add is that the word racism is thrown around too much and too easily in our current woke cultural climate here in Canada and this is just making the immigration issues worse because it produces a culture of fear for those Canadians that would like to help educate those immigrants that need help. But they do not do so because they are afraid of being labeled a racist or some other word and having their livelihoods and overall lives ruined. I am in a position in life where I do not care if people want to say such things about me. I am also well educated and in the position to come up with well articulated arguments in my defence. My main issue with immigration that bothers me more than the rest not only affects us Canadians but also affects the immigrants as well. Ok so before mass immigration was a thing here in Canada our healthcare system that we all used to be extremely proud of the as showing too many cracks and we knew it was falling apart. You think the government would place more funding into the healthcare system. Well that has not happened and if anything they have taken more funds away from our healthcare system than any other time in our country’s history. So before the mass immigration begun we had a major issue with having way too many patients and not enough medical staff to adequately treat everyone in a timely and healthy manner. So now think about that, the healthcare system was already stressed with the current population before mass immigration. How do you think adding waves and waves of more people every year via mass immigration is affecting that system? The answer is this… if the system was stressed beforehand, it is collapsing now. I am one of the lucky few that has a family doctor right now. It takes three months the just for me to see her… If I have an emergency and have to call 911, the ambulance will take me up to the local ER and then I will be wheeled out to the waiting room, which defeats the purpose of me calling 911 for a ambulance. I have waited two days at the local ER just to see a doctor. So here is where it affects the immigrants coming in. If a Canadian that was here before you is already having major issues with the healthcare, then I can only imagine how hard it will be for a new citizen to our country, nuff said really… the local er near me had a person die in the waiting room this past January. Add to this fact that I am actually pretty sick at the moment and so are my parents and you can understand why I am upset about our failing healthcare system. The politicians do not have to worry about our such issues though because they can afford to pay to go outside of Canada and pay cold hard cash for medical treatment. That is why they do not mind removing funds from our healthcare system, it will not affect them and they get to line their pockets with more of our tax money… I honestly place most of the blame for what is going on right now on Trudeau’s government and not the immigrants. The immigrants could help make this crappy situation a lot better for both of our parties though if they tried a little harder to adapt to our ways of life here. When in Canada try to live like a Canadian, I do not think that is asking much. Again, as for racism, I believe in judging a person by their actions and not by the colour of their skin. Racism is such an antiquated way of thinking… Our skin colours maybe different, just like our cultural backgrounds, but after all is said and done we are all members of the human race. All of our troubles in Canada is due to very excessive immigration. Every single aspect of housing, education and healthcare could not absorb this unsustainable population growth. And llok at it, immigrants are not willing to give any money to income tax but they want the service sithout paying for it. That’s not the way it works. I’m a GenX and I bought my house for cheap in the 80’s. Now taht it’s paid off my cost of living is the price of housing taxes so about 300$ a month for a recent suburban house valued at 850k$. It is almost impossible for immigrants to buy a house like that. That’s why we not only need less immigrants but we have to make existing immigrants to leave Canada. We are not the dream country they hoped for mainly because of them. Leave.
