Somewhat right but not exactly right. According to Trump admin, Trump is actually trying to stop the circumvention of Chinese goods and Chinese drugs coming from Canada. Trudeau promised Trump to work on the drug issue, but I guess he did not if we are seeing the significant import tax on Canada now. And come on Trudeau, you dislike Trump and aren't exactly his friend. You talked back on him on many international stages. Anyways, I wish you two get along eventually and hope the same for US and Canada.

First of all, it hasn't been 8 years for Trump. 4 of those 8 years was by President Biden and I'm more than sure it was most likely Biden who did the bulk of that good work, not Trump.

All I'm hearing from him speaking is that trumps actions are working and you guys are actually doing something now. Good job.

Even if it was about fentanyl, how would they know or prove that tariffs worked to curb its supply? It can’t be done. So are they going to pretend it helped to make Trump look good? Or is this truly what it appears to be. Putin successfully dividing and conquering. Scary af times.

I will continue to speak and work for truth and justice, against the insane lies and damaging actions promulgated by our president and other horrible, greedy people who are destroying the good in my country. Canadian here who 100 percent supported trump going to office making America great again but I never thought he would try to come at us Canadians like this. This doesn't only effect us but also the good patriot god loving people of the United States. This is what a leader of the free world sounds like: Level-headed, expressive, factual, referencing trade agreements, how we have met your demands and good sentiments about working together to solve problems. This is NOT how you lower prices for Americans! This as about a narcissist wanting to be an Oligarch, and a grapist, wanting to grape Canada, like his boyfriend Putin is doing in Ukraine.

I am a Canadian and I love America and the American people. I hope we can put this behind us sooner rather than later there is no need for any tension between us. We always have each other‘s back. With that said, I would like to see Canada step up to certain obligations, including with NATO, but as far as a trade work goes, this is not good.

From Germany here ... This is such a breath taking speech. There is someone in the US that has changed all good and all bad. The Americans have to solve their problems by themselfs. But we - we, the rest of the world, the democrats, the reasonables, the thoughtfull, we have to stand together, to work together, and to help, and if necessary, to fight together. Till all that BS in the US comes to an end!

In a best case scenario, DJT will rescind the tariffs on Canadian goods. In the worst case, we get even poorer. If this happened after Trump became president the first time, the economy was strong from 4 years of Obama's presidency. Then COVID happened, and for alot of folks here, they haven't recovered financially. Savings and retirement plans are gone. Rent is higher, for many it takes over 50% of their income. So in this emergency time, there's nothing to fall back on. Oh and DOGE will cut SNAP benefits, I'm sure. That's food stamps, meant for the people struggling. It's becoming more and more of Americans. \nAm I depressed? No, I lived through Reagan's presidency. I'm cautious about life, my job, commuting to work, putting food on the table. I'm gonna try growing veggies. I already eat 75% of my meals at home or taken from home-cooked meals. I'm saving as best I can.

I am a Canadian living in the states and, Living very good off of what I get from the states for I have not worked in 27 years because of an injury. The U.S.A. has been better to me than the country I am a citizen of Canada. All my life my very large family in Canada come here to the states and goes home with the bumper or trailer hitch hitting the ground for it would be overloaded with products from the states because it cost so much less here.

No more selling off our Crown corporations our land and other businesses to foreign countries. Keep Canada Canadian and give jobs to born Canadians first. Through Canada to USA comes tons of drug's, look at Vancouver and Toronto, USA not only gets goods from Canada we get illegal immigrants and drug's. Canada has dirty oil, that USA has to refine to use. Shame both countries can't work together and be strong.
