50% tariffs coming. No imports and no exports. Then only winning is the states when trump decreases taxes.

Both Mexico and Canada have fallen into Trumps trap, if you do not see it, let me explain. Trump has been pushing for more manufacturing at home, for more oil drilling and for more rare minerals mining. He can impose those tariffs and either Canada and Mexico agree, or the do exactly what they just did, think they can win a economic war with the United States. See, Trump gets what he wants either way, they don't cooperate, Trump gives huge tax incentives to companies to start producing here in the U.S. which will in turn reduce the price of everything for Americans, see, if you produce it here instead of overseas, Canada or Mexico, we can pish for a huge increase in overall production reducing the costs to consumers, since the products no longer have to be imported. Like i said, sometimes i don't think the left has any brains left.

Back in 2016, Trump introduced 25% tariffs on China 301-classification imports that severely damaged my business. For whatever reason, he then exempted the tariffs, but the public still assumed that they were in place. It was a perfect Trump win-win move to make the voters think that he was acting tough, while actually exempting the tariffs for us importers. Unfortunately, Biden got into office and immediately took away the exemptions and screwed us. I mention all of this in order to exemplify how nothing is as it seems when it comes to Trump. Sometimes you have to let this stuff play out before overreacting. I think that Canada made a mistake by overreacting so quickly. This will force Trump's hand to pursue the trade war, even if it was not his actual intention.

Its a poker game. America always wins. Trump knows what he is doing. Just trust the process. Canada and Mexico needs the US more than we need them.

Probably not a good move for Canada to play games with Trump, their economy is in excess supply and the US is the largest consumer market, they will fare much worse. Ditto for Mexico, their economy being 1/25 the size of ours. Fixing the border is a win-win.

As an american devastated by trumps win, I wish the canadians & Mexico would increase the tariffs. This man is causing chaos. The republicans made this bed & we are all forced to sleep in it. As a mexican american & a woman, my feelings are evn stronger

Oh look - Trump being a leader , getting the job done . Just imagine - Trump wins the 2020 election - a secure border , almost zero illegals. Imagine then , the previously vibrant U.S oil and gas industry , making the U.S self-sufficient , not in the current position where the U.S is on it’s knees , begging the Saudis to sell supplies the U.S. THAT , is about to change. Like him or not -Trump gets it done . He was brokering peace deals in Ukraine and Palestine - even as Biden was authorising the firing of U.S missiles into Russia - you know just provoking some crazy megalomaniac to start a nuclear exchange . Pitiful Biden , weak , demented , corrupt and criminally irresponsible.

Colombia has taken so many evil people and poor destitute people from Venezuela as refugees and it can’t absorb them but Colombians normally come legally to the USA and make great Americans my family in law for example are good conservative people who support Trump and I’d like to have my family in the USA all in one place especially is colombia will turn into Venezuela under a corrupt regime who has ruined everything and hurt most of the citizens idk how he won if he did even win but the USA came into Colombia before to stabilize it and it worked for a long time and there are 30,000 U.S. expats here or people with family ties or like me who happened to marry into a Colombian family. Not long ago I saw Trump with former President Duque and their wives and there was a beautiful relationship and colombia was booming in one year the USA must put back the former establishment and restabilize the mess that has been made under this communist guerrilla member and I hope saying this doesn’t bring lash back to me or my family here in Colombia. But my husband and me want to come home to the USA as soon as possible he isn’t a criminal his father is a Pastor at a small countryside church they don’t deserve this.

And so China wins another key partner in Latin America . Seeing how the US is an unreliable economic partner, that threatens tarriffs over every little dispute, Columbia will most probably start seriously looking into establishing more reliable economic outlets, like China or even Europe for that matter. The only thing clown Trump succeeded in , was to push a crucial regional ally into the hands of a geopolitical rival of the US, sacrificing its long term geopolitical and economic influence over a single issue, not a very major one at that.
