I'm Danish - we have a big movement in Denmark to boycot American goods. The US has failed in so many ways. They will learn - perhaps to late - what the price is. In the mean time I urge people around the world who supports Ukraine, Mexico, Canada and Europe - who supports the right to freedom - to buy goods from each other. Lets join together with Japan, Australia, South Korea etc - let's show the US that YES, they were important - yes they WERE the leaders of the free world - but they lost the right to that title the moment they selected Trump for president again. Let's show them what real bravery is and what real freedom is!

Well idk my market is going up very nice today. Also we can make every Canadian goods at home so that there is no weight to his words in my eyes. I do say if Canada is doing all these measures though it would be nice to come to an agreement with Canada. To be friends with neighbors is always better than not being friends. So overall I'm kinda torn between it all. We don't need Canada to be honest but just because we don't need them does not mean we should not work with them. Very tuff situation at this moment.

I grew up hearing lots of hate bout USA cuz the US doesn't exactly have a good rep in foreign policies - always bullying other nations, starting wars for oil etc. but I've always preferred USA not just for the world order it brings, it allows different voices, criticism & scolding towards its leaders compared to China, Russia & North Korea. \n\nin the US, you can talk bad bout politicians in power, or probably make movies bout these kind of things like US invading other countries for oil, or testing out some cruel AI military robots on humans (movie name: Monsters of Man), & you won't be persecuted. but after looking at a bunch of executive orders Trump has signed, the way he (& JD Vance) treated Zelenski & Canada, I don't know if I still feel the same bout USA anymore.\n\nif USA doesn't wanna continue spending on Ukraine, perhaps USA shouldn't have sweet talked Ukraine into denuclearization thru the 1994 Budapest Memorandum. that's what you get for mendling with other countries' affairs. by stopping US aid & wanting a new mineral deal, Trump's refusing to follow the Memorandum (I added this sentence thru edit as I can't reply to the comment below).\n\nunderstandably, US & UK don't need to deploy troops in Ukraine as the security assurance in the memorandum wasn't clearly defined, but it also didn't mention that Ukraine should pay the US back financially, nor any mineral concessions. \n\nTrump always wanting a purely 1 sided deal will only isolate USA from more allies.

I’m in Seattle and have a vacation home in British Columbia so go there often while renting out other days to other people. Wonder how the tariffs gonna affect this. For example if certain things need to be remodeled in my pad over in BC I usually order from suppliers in USA near the border since I use them for my home in Seattle too. I’m guessing it might get taxed now. Not sure how it will play out. I do know that initially tariffs gonna effect lot of people but do believe in general it will get economy better. I recently saw that Mexico been adding tariffs for years for certain USA goods (for example appliances purchased in usa from Mexico will cost another 27% etc) and it’s time for USA do similar things. Just hoping my burrito cost doesn’t keep going up. Was around 8$ several years back and now it’s 14$ in Seattle ?

I voted against our current administration and I’m out in the streets to try to stop what’s happening. This is disgusting, good for you for fighting back! What I don't like is the millionaires that move our jobs out of our country to benefit themselves. My father lost a good manufacturing job because labor was cheaper in some other county. I’m Canadian but lived in the US for 12 years. Trump keeps moving the goal post. This is bullying, plain and simple. Do not yield, Canada. You yield to a bully and he’ll keep taking and taking. I know my people of the north are strong and they know the hardships ahead are worth it for the greater good. But I also know my friends here in the US are largely in Canada’s favor and for that I am thankful. President Trump does not speak for all Americans.

We found common ground for the future. \nThis time, in my family and circle of friends, it's different. Born and Raised in Canada and there is another sort of comparison I'm starting to see more and more: We have the Stagnation of Japan and the the Personality of Britain. \n\nWhat I mean by that, the people in Canada, least the older ones (Boomers), got very conservative and never wanted to rock the boat and do new things. They had in their eyes a good thing. They had work and owned their home. None of them wanted to risk that so they kept things the same for the past 3 decades or so. Well a lot has changed around the world, and were pretty much the same old. Literally. In retirement. Whats the last interesting thing Canada has done since the Canadarm? \n\nI can think of a number of achievements the rest of the world has done, including many 3rd world countries. But Canada is the same old. This has become our Culture. We don't talk about new ideas. We witness them online, but we're not Creators. We are Consumers. And that is what I think happened to Britain after they got resettled after WWII. Britain is pretty dry. And so is Canada. Hence our forest fires!

I’m part of that brain drain from Canada to the U.S. Having dual citizenship made that easy, and while I miss so many things about Vancouver, I was being totally squeezed between expensive housing and very poor income outlook. There were director level positions that were offering less than my mid level role; not a good look. Down south, I was able to jump income (not considering the exchange rate) 200% in two years, and I have far better career prospects. \n\nIt’s not great. I will always be a Canadian at heart.

Anyway, I’m gonna tell you about my cancer story.\nTwo years ago at the age of about 53-54, I realize that I hadn’t had a mammogram in a long time because I’ve moved cities so I was on the list but in another city. So I decided I need to go get a mammogram. I contacted my GP and he gave me a referral within a couple of weeks. I had my mammogram. They didn’t like it within a week. They did it again. They didn’t like it. They decided to do an ultrasound. And still, they found areas that they were not happy with. So within another week, they did two biopsies. And they came back as cancer cells that had not gotten together yet to create a tumor. So it’s called stage zero cancer. Within two weeks I was in surgery where they took out everything they needed to and I was told that I have good margins. I then had six weeks of radiation. Five days a week for six weeks.\n\nSo about nine months after that and that healing, I had a referral to a plastic surgeon. She reduced my other breast so that I was even. That was about eight months ago. And this week I had a further reduction, call it a fine-tuning, to further ensure that I was even.\n\nThis was all done in Montreal Quebec Canada. \nI paid zero dollars, except a few times I may have paid six bucks for parking. \n\nI am cancer free. I’ve gone from a double D to a B, which you know is better than dying. I am so happy that I live here.

When people asks what it means to be Canadian, I say it means not to come here and impose your religious and cultural traditions on other Canadians who have been here for over 400 years (ya, I know some people will comment on this and say what about what the colonialists did to the indigenous people, and I’ll say ya but we conquered this land - shiity but that’s reality). If you love your culture and religions so much, why didn’t you stay in your native country.
