When a country is at war, the refugee population will be majority women and children. This is a statistical absolute. See Ukraine. \nEconomic migration follows a different but well traveled pattern: men go alone, establish themselves, and send for family when they are able. \nYet, we see that the Middle East and African asylum seekers are overwhelmingly young single men. They are not feeling war, they are seeking to improve their economic situation. The problems is that they are posing as refugees, and the resources and good will that are meant for refugees ate diverted to the imposter's.\nIt naturally angers people. It's an intolerable Injustice. It should not be tolerated. \n\nEconomic immigrants should arrive by invitation with needed skills. They benefit themselves and their host country. They do not get fee hotel stays and food. \nSo, our imposter refugees are economic immigrants who would be refused entry because they do not have the requisite skills.\n\nThis situation is outrageous.

As usual the Guardian is spinning a lie. People are not anti-immigration. They are anti-Trudeau and his insane his policy of flooding the country with poorly vetted people in such huge numbers that he has created a catastrophic housing shortage, overwhelmed an already broken medicare system, overloaded our schools and at a cost of countless billions of borrowed dollars. Despite the divisive headline of this video and the comments, it seems like all the people interviewed in the video are roughly on the same page. No one hates all immigrants, they are all just worried about the scale and pace of immigration overwhelming infrastructure.

Couple that with a low-interest rate policy post GFC and leave rates for that low for that long and you are going to witness an epic housing crisis. But not just that - these new immigrants become fodder of cheap labor that pushes out our very own Canadian citizens from these positions, with the more marginalized ones ending up on the streets. \n \nThere is a Motel 6 in my neighborhood that has been taken over by the Canadian government and converted to temporary housing for new immigrants. All paid for by Canadian taxpayers. Why isn't our own government using these funds to fix the housing crisis, or help it's own citizens with more affordable housing but instead they continue to exacerbate this problem by letting a huge wave of immigrants that overwhelms the Canadian infrastructure. More proof? Notice more locked up goods in your local stores? The demand shock has pushed the cost of living for everything from food to shelter that these Indians who are these same new immigrants are resorting to shoplifting, and extortion! \n \nIf you are going to bring in immigrants to prop up Canada's aging demography at least tighten your admission standards and bring in more educated ones, with more liberal, more considerate and more courteous dispositions. Our university age children all hold US passports. None are planning on staying in Canada after graduation. One has already left for Europe. Why would any young Canadian with options elsewhere want to remain in Canada when mainstream political thought believes it sensible to flood the labor market each year with hundreds of thousands of people, the overwhelming majority coming from two countries.

Balanced immigrants based on merits are good for Canada. It's overwhelming influx of Indians changing dynamics of demographics.

We are gonna be overwhelmed

Immigration will not STOP ANYTIME SOON. Canada should have foreseen that the country would need more people 30-40 years ago and provided the resources to encourage Canadians to birth more children. Salaries are laughable, childcare is overwhelmingly expensive, food is expensive, rent is high. How do you expect Canadians to birth 4 -5 children when they are earning significantly less than their American counterparts. Immigrants will continue to troop into Canada where we like it or not.

Make no mistake. Canada is not the US or Georgia Meloni's Italy. The sense that the immigration of the last half century has been overwhelmingly positive for the country is widespread outside of a few predictable nativist Anglo enclaves. The key problem is the disconnect between the demands of employers and the labour market situation on one hand, and housing on the other. The national and provincial governments abandoned any involvement in housing beyond zoning issues in the 1970s. The provision of affordable housing can never be done by private developers alone with our subsidies or coordination with the state. There are simply too many problems of market failure. Instead what they can provide is more and more higher-end housing. The national government has never connected the various aspects of immigration so that now Canada's largest cities simply cannot cope with the number of incoming migrants.

We do not have the infrastructure to support these newcomers in a healthy way. It impacts the newcomers and overwhelms our systems. As Canadians, It is clear in our compassionate response there is an unintended consequence. Close the border so we can get our feet under us and play catch up.

I dont know anyone who thinks immigration is bad.However when the numbers are so high that it is unsustainable and citizens feel like they are being overwhelmed and thier lives are of less quality people will rebel .The citizens end up paying with taxes so they have every right to challenge these destructive ideologies that ultimately bring pain and misery to it's own citizens.

Canada used to have a fairly sane immigration policy - immigrants needed to have a level of education and/or skills that would contribute to areas of Canada's economy and growth - skills or education in fields where there was need for people. Part of the problem now is that so many people are allowed in as refugees, with no usable or useful skills. Another part of the problem is that Canada does not have the infrastructure to accommodate so many more people - we should first build the infrastructure, then allow just the number of people we can house and employ. Another policy should be that our local and provincial governments should have decision making authority where immigrants settle. Huge influxes of people into already crowded urban centers makes no sense - immigrants need to be told what areas of Canada they may go to.\n\nNo culture or group can maintain identity and stability if overwhelmed by large numbers of outsiders. We should limit immigration to the number of foreign cultures and languages that can be successfully integrated into our society.

As a first-generation immigrant who grew up in Toronto, Canada, especially Ottawa and big cities in Ontario, have become unrecognizable as a result of immigration! Our landlord/tenant bureau is *so* overwhelmed that these exploited students have literally no recourse - their visas expire before their case is even heard. \n\nBRING BACK DIVERSITY. You want to talk DEI? How about equal numbers of immigrants from different regions around the world instead of *just* India!!!

As a Canadian I agree that Canada is no longer a great place to immigrate to. I disagree that it is due to racism (my parents were immigrants) but now the cost of living is too high due to shortage of housing supply and inflation. Salaries have not kept up. Immigrants do have a much harder time gaining employment in high skilled jobs especially if their English is not PERFECT. And local governments have not prepared the infrastructure to handle the massive amount of immigration that the government has accepted over the years. Our schools and health care systems are overwhelmed and stressed to the point where 1/4 of people don’t have a family doctor and getting into even a public school has become competitive. \n\nThis is not the Canada I grew up in or thought my kids would grow up in. It’s hard even for Canadians to survive and immigrants coming here without a 6-figure salary job will struggle to survive.

As an Indian, these are overwhelmingly Punjabis,mostly Sikhs. Not Hindus (who are 25-26K only). A lot of them are miscreants and want Khalistan, which has nothing to do with India and is ANTI INDIA. Next they will demand a separate nation IN CANADA.

Western Canadian here. Moved away from the coast last year because of the ideological capture and literally watching the community dissolve and collapse in front of my eyes. Overwhelming drug abuse and a lack of policing or care for the general population. \n\nThe state of this country is sad. Yesterday was Canada Day, our July 4th. Virtually no flags or positive sentiment. What do we have to be proud of?\n\nI want to be clear here, I don’t blame the the immigrant populations for coming here, I blame the people that allowed them to come with ZERO plan for how to ensure they’re taken care of while not negatively impacting native Canadians.\n\nThe government created this problem, they can fix it but choose not to and instead turn us all against each other when we should be pointing the finger at the powers that be.\n\nBut I’m sure for this opinion they’ll show up at my place later for wrong think so it’s been swell everyone.\n\nGood luck out there in this absolute clown show.
