Im generally pro-immigration, but highlighting students who choose to go to a foreign country while paying exorbitant tuitions and then complain about the cost is...not a situation that garners sympathy

I am always surprised how good racists feel about their behaviour that they record and post their own racism expecting sympathy from others

Europeans and Americans would never take in their neighbors refugees during war time. They haven’t. How many wars/genocides happened in South America recently and America had no sympathy for their refugees.

Half the jobs in my field are being replaced by immigrants who HATE Canadian values. I literally got yelled at for expressing sympathy for the Jews after the October 7th genocide. These are the people we are replacing Canadians with. We defeated the Nazi's and now we are importing them.

Hopefully after 5-10 years all the no Preindependnt pakiatanis will be left to have sympathy cry over partition and get the same reaction from emotional Indians.

I was just forced by my husband to come here in 2010. I never plan to live abroad but I went for the sake of the kids and dont want regret. My husband is mentally ill even before we got married(family took advantage of me when they saw I was an independent widow that time). Upon arriving here, nothing was prepared,no beds no nothing just the social housing and he was already orienting me to get food from food bank and simply convinced me to follow here for the child benefits,free education and healthcare. Let me just mention, the family of my husband is claiming they were rich and prominent in the Philippines. Fast forward....14 years after, he didnt get a house for us....I just ran after him for child support....he didnt finish the divorce process that I ask him to do upon arrival....now, that its time for him to pay tution fee for college, he is mad! He is so desperate that he brainwashed one of his sons to blame me and make me feel like the whole thing is my fault! My son almost killed me last time bec his dad getting sympathy and ranting that he has no money. This is the biggest regret of my life......I believe if my sons are educated and grew up in the Philippines, they are more happy and was able to tap all their talents and intelligence. I am done here! And for people telling me that the money we earn here we dont get in the Philippines....sorry, my peace of mind and dignity has no price tag. I am not materialistic too. Respect to humanity is all we need!

These are the same people who supported Chavez and then Maduro. They created their own problems and now want somebody else to fix it. Nobody has sympathy for them.

OK hear me out, I’m a Jewish American but I have always been quite critical of Israel especially in the last 3 decades under the Likud government it’s nationalism and imperialism, with regard to its settlements and attitudes to Palestine. That said… Every time we’re close to creating good world sympathy for a Palestinian state, the power-hungry radicals of the Palestinian people always somehow ruin the progress, taking advantage of a power vacuum, and it’s stirring up the people once again that Israel Has to be destroyed off the face of the map. Then on top of that, during peaceful times with momentum for a two state solution, something always ruins it, in this case it was Hamas, seizing power over Gaza with the statement that Israel needed to be destroyed. Then Israel made sanctions to try to make that government fail, but, of course, as we know, it only starved the people and made them angrier and then they did this awful, unspeakable, brutal attack. Hamas is still attacking to this day. If Hamas wants to cease fire, they need to also stop attacking Israel and come to the table and come up with a two states solution and accept Israel. Israel is of course going too far as they often do but it’s a tough call as to what Israel should really be doing right now, while their constantly under attack and threat from their neighbors in a very active way every day.

I have no sympathy for anybody who chooses to come here either without doing enough research, or worse still, to scam their way to a permanent residency. This needs to be cracked down, and hard, for the good of everybody involved.

Why won't you say what's actually the crux of the problem? Is it all those typical Canadians invading Toronto, who don't mind living 8 to an efficiency? Hmm? Until you SAY IT, until you NAME the problem ... no sympathy from me! You Canadians consistently vote for the invasive population replacement.

If the Palestinians want to stay in Gaza, and live in peace, then why do they support HAMAS and the terrorism they subject innocent people to? The Jewish hostages said when they were abducted and taken to Gaza and paraded through the streets, the Palestinians lined the streets and cheered HAMAS and cursed the Jewish hostages. They don’t sound or act like kind loving people to me. Why should we have sympathy for them ?

Why should other countries be responsible for citizens who voted for Hamas. There was celebrations around the world by Palestinians, for the disgraceful attacks on the Jewish population in Israel. They want sympathy and understanding from the world, but I shall never forget their chants and behaviours, even before Israel retaliated. Countries who have taken these people in, have altered the fabric of their societies. You can try all you want in the UK, but our citizens will vote out Sunak the spineless fingers crossed they get rid of Sadiq Khan who is the racist major of London. It’s called a democracy. We may have to wait for Labour to run its election course, but Reform UK is the party who puts its citizens before those who abuse the migration process and those who chant against countries that have been good enough and have taken them in. There will be a time, in the future when racism gets called out, tougher legislation comes into effect. You have no value, then you will have to leave, by law of the land, not the law of your religion.

It blows my mind at how ignorant some of the comments here are. Maybe you should look up the Lebanese Civil War and Jordanian Civil War aka Black September and educate yourselves about actual history as to why none of those countries will take them in. Yeah the Palestinian people shouldn't have to be refugees but this also illustrates that Hamas never had the best interest of the Palestinian people to begin with. Hamas intended for this outcome because they knew Israel would retaliate with brutality to obliterate Hamas and the Palestinians would gain sympathy for their plight--isn't this obvious? Even i has some Sikh college friends and later colleagues in workplace. None of them wore on outside where its visible. I live in El Paso, where the fk has this sympathy been for HOMELESS VETERANS IN THE STREETS OF EL PASO?! I see everyone in the comments shaming us for not wanting to help, I'm Chicana and what these immigrants are doing is WRONG and ILLEGAL. Yet, our own Vietnam and Desert Storm vets are in the streets begging for change. We need to take care of OUR OWN first, then we can sufficiently begin to help others less fortunate. In this case, I have very little sympathy for Venezuelan migrants. From what I've read, these are the same people who supported Maduro and his corrupt government. They wanted free $h1+ and got nothing more than corruption. We do not owe them a debt. They (or any other migrant) are not entitled to become US citizens solely bc their home country is in turmoil. Sympathy can only go so far but when you try to invade our country all sympathy is lost. We have families that we need to protect just like them.
