We all know it was never about DRUGS and Illegal immigrants anyone with a brain should know it was always about the MONEY, ITS ALWAYS ABOUT THE MONEY. Trump should of just told them honestly, no more FREE period instead of making these countries put resources at the border. Trump play a game to get 2 for 1 by making them secure the borders and making them pay tariffs all at the cost of the American people if Americans do stuffer. But I do again with the tariffs everyone should pay considering that all the factories run to these foreign countries for cheaper labor, and Americans are your biggest buyers. Any country who wants FREE should be ashamed of themselves. Maybe Canada should be free US and Canada had a good relationship. But Mexico and China NOT at all.

Canada and Mexico are not responsible for the people in the US who chose to use drugs. Yes, there are illegals from Canada, but almost 100% of them are from overstaying visas rather than crossing the border unlawfully. So let's talk about fentanyl. \n\nMost fentanyl in the US originates from China, often in precursor form, and is then processed in Mexico before being smuggled into the states. But it's typically trafficked in small, high potency quantities, often hidden in legitimate shipments or through mail, and only on very rare occasions is it being brought in by individuals crossing the border. It has _never_ been documented to have shipped in as part of large scale commercial imports, so a 25% tariff on legal trade with Canada and Mexico doesn’t directly target the black market supply chain at all.\n\nIf we take Trump’s reasoning at face value, the argument seems to be that he wants to exert economic pressure on Mexico and Canada as a means of having them crack down harder on drug trafficking networks. But the issue is that fentanyl simply isn’t coming in through mass import channels, so all this looks like is a punitive measure without a clear mechanism to actually achieve its stated goal. And the implications? Drastically higher costs for consumers in the US, Canada, and Mexico, with absolutely nothing to show for it.

I've never wanted to immigrate to Canada more than I do today.

Hi I'm from Russia and I would say that mostly people who lives in english speaking countries they usually can only tell about wealth privilegues of having particular passport, offical status of their country and that's it. for my personal opinion the motherland is something that is more than that. I didn't travel much somewhere but I've been abroad and I would say - nowhere is better than here in Russia for me. The people leaving Canada are older, and they have money. The ones coming are poor and compete with other poor immigrants that can't afford to leave. When I came to Canada with my parents they had to be skilled and bring with them the minimum of $10.000.00. Where I grew up in California a young Deputy Sheriff, who was a legal immigrant from Fiji whose dream it was to work in American law enforcement, was murdered by an illegal alien while he was on duty. This happened within the last few years. The killer had had multiple run ins with the law and had been released from jail and never had to pay for his crimes and was never deported. During the day of the murder the killer went on a rampage and harmed several other people. The deputy who was killed left a wife and a baby. Why people want to leave these rotten criminals in our country is beyond me. It just tells me they don’t care about the people in this country.

I'm all for legal immigration but I don't think the US can handle any more people at the moment. I don't know about anyone else, but it's been brutal for me personally to find a job for a couple of months just to get by until my other job is good to go for the season. I've never had to claim unemployment (I always found another job within a week or two), and I've been suffering for the past 6 months. I'm more than qualified for some of the applications I have filled out, but yet I feel like just because I'm a white woman, I get skipped over. I've applied to around 50-70 jobs and only had 2 interviews. Thankfully, I still live at home, but if i didn't, I'd be wayyy more screwed. I believe America needs to take care of it's legal citizens first, then we can worry about others.

The other problem is allowing immigrants from non-compatible cultures of people who do not share our values, culture, religion, or way of life, they generally live in their own areas, speak their own language, and do not/cannot integrate into society, most consider themselves as Indian, not Canadian because like for instance in the UK where we have similar or worse problems, they can never be English, or Scottish, or Welsh or Northern Irish. We are not and never have been nations of ''communities'', we are Canadian, American British, and Australian, but we are all connected in our Judeo-Christian roots, values, culture, and way of life, the vast majority of these third-world immigrants can never be part of what we are. That causes resentment, even jealousy, and one day it will end badly

Even the ones born here. They anchored themselves to the 14th Amendment and claim Birthright Citzenship. This is the reason why theres so many illegals period. The 14th Amendment is for the newly freed slaves and their descendants the framers never had mass immigration of the world in mind when that was written

This is the look of freedom. This is the human spirit showing us that the will to live, to be free takes precedent over nationality, culture, etc. The United States NEVER stopped being an oasis in the world’s mind. It is an icon of breaking from from tyranny, oppression even if the USA doesn’t deserve that designation. Or, maybe the U.S. doesn’t belong to u.s. children if immigrants as we believe. Maybe, the U.S. really belongs to every tired and huddled mass yearning to be free. Who are we, Americans, to decide our legacy was over? Maybe, we ran into trouble when we forgot what we are, and why our own ancestors came here. The people of the world have spoken. We have no right to withhold safe refuge from those fleeing death and oppression. Instead of hanging with dictators, maybe our highest national “leader” should return to his original mantra of demanding other nations provide safety for their own, so that their own stop feeling the need to flee. This is the vast majority of migrants’ character. We can separate law breakers from the masses, without accusing the masses of criminality.
