I was just reading the comments and it's sickening so see how many prejudice people this world has. For all you people that left a negative comment on here WHY WHY . If this channel doesn't interest you just move on.

I'll get slammed for this, but, look, history is history and you can't change it. Back in the mid-20th century, the peoples of central Africa and North Africa fought ferocious guerrilla and insurrectionist wars to eject the hated white man colonizers who came in a century prior and took their land. Understood. Got it. The insurrectionists and guerillas were fervent they could run their own countries more efficiently and with more compassion than the white man. Got it. The African insurrectionists got meaner, resorting to terrorism, kidnapping, torture, brutal murder, planting explosives in shops and restaurants, mounting hit-and-run submachine attacks day and night on the populace, white and black and north African. Don't believe me, look up the old news films from the period.\n The insurgents, insurrectionists, revolutionaries, guerillas, partisans, and outright terrorists succeeded. White man gone. Fast forward to the 21st century. What do you see? Failed nation states. Lack of social and economic stability. Countries still with poor hygienic standards and low medical care. Famine. Hunger. High unemployment.\n What happened? Mostly....corruption, aggravated by increasing drought conditions over the past seventy years.\n What do you see today? Descendents of those once ferocious revolutionaries and insurgents who were willing to sacrifice their lives resorting to terrorism and murder, now risking life and limb by jumping into rickety boats to cross stormy seas and enter the countries of their former European oppressors. France and Italy are among the most astonished of all. \n Canada was not a colonial power yet look at all the migrants from Africa, desperately seeking a better life. Their forebearers promised far better than their European occupiers but delivered even less because everybody has their hand in the till and is lining their pockets. When a visitor has to pay government employees bribes for them to do their jobs, you know you've visited a failed state. Bring up the subject of institutionalized and cultural widespread corruption and they get defensive and angry, still blaming everyone else for their own failures.\n One of the more common solutions over the past twenty years, accepting huge, high-interest loans from the Red Chinese government that they cannot repay, is now coming back to bite them in the keister.

They wont because isrealis are (mostly) not muslims.\nThis battle is the fronline of a , well, the only way to say it, war of civilizations. The west and all its advantages that your predecessors moved towards to benefit from, to defending against what you are about to emigrate into. \nI hope, for both our civilisations, you are successful and that encourages others who see things the same way you dou, which is most based on various polls, to copy your example.\nI will be watching your subsequent videos on your voyage of discovery to see if the laws of domestic economics trump the laws of god when making the descision to emigrate permanently.\nI will be , among others, interested to see if this stated intent extends to renouncing your canadian citizenship as a pledge to your faith.

If you’re doing Hijra for the sake of Islam and for your future generations, then you must come to Pakistan. \n\nWorldly life is tough here but Pakistan is the only country where you can live the life as per the principles of Islam, which is ultimately aim of every good Muslim. \n\nSaudi Arabia, UAE, Dubai etc have good worldly life but then you can not avoid Riba, system of interest and Mortgage etc in those countries. \n\nI see many people trying to leave Pakistan for financial strength but they do not consider the opportunities Pakistan provides for Muslim to lead their life as per basic principles of Islam. \n\nAllah knows best.

While there might be wonderful places to see, and interesting people to meet and food to eat, I would never even visit there for more than a day or 2.\n\nSome times traveling by road, it is faster to drive through the states to get to other parts of Canada, and that level of visiting would be barely ok.\n\nYour government is actively making it unsafe to be alive there, for so many types of people. Unless you are part of the elite, making gallons of money, your government doesn't even want you to live. It's horrific.\n\nAmerica is bad y'all. Just so bad.

You know the grass is always greener on the other side!!!!!! I have moved with my family twice and there is always things that you take for granted in your home country and that I'm sure you will miss when you move, it will be interesting in a year or so to see your honest reality of your new chosen home! As a Christian when it comes to drunkenness and disorder and modesty and other moral issues I would agree with these people trying to clean up the community, just that as a Christian we would have a different approach. Pray for God to help them not just practically, but spiritually and encourage them to put their faith and trust in God who can help with underlying problems that causes them to waste away their lives on drink and drugs in the first place. Shari law is oppressive dictatorship and not for the best interest for the people of Uk or anyone for that matter. What we are seeing in society is the consequences of turning our backs on God who at one time blessed our nation, not perfect but we had some good qualities as a nation. Put God back in all areas of life again and most of man’s problems would be solved. God’s laws and instructions are not a burden but brings us true freedom.?????

Interesting about the islamic atmosphere, I live in England and there are so many Muslims around me, I even hear they calling to pray once a day but I don't see a Christian atmosphere even though it's said to be a protestant country but for sure there's a Christian atmosphere back home in Brazil.\n\nI absolutely love living in Europe (Ireland and England) but I do miss this atmosphere from Brazil and my culture that 1000% I want my kids to have.\n\nI have the exact same opinion about things that are being taught at school that goes against my believes and i know many Christian parents are making the change to homeschooling and i might do the same when it's my turn.

Is there ANYTHING in Canada that isn't broken right now ? I feel for the Police and Immigration officials trying to process so many people, but the tide of negativity from so many Canadians on YT is incredible. We are faced with many of the same problems here in Australia, particularly on our East Coast, but I don't see the exodus of people who were born here. Interesting times ahead.

What in happens in 4 weeks when this military operation is over? I mean the only countries that were giving (to the now 95% homeless Palestinians in Gaza) were European countries and Iran and Qatar. I’m asking myself if they are not willing or don’t accept the idea of Palestinians leaving, I want to see the Arab, especially the Gulf nations get involved and built up Gaza. They could have done this before with all their money. But instead the elites one yacht after another. they betrayed the Palestinians and the Abraham Accords are proof of this. The gulf countries are only interested in money and that’s it.

I was born and raised in Toronto. I have no family inheritance to give me a jump start. I make good money (middle upper class) but I’m still struggling financially. Not because I spend like crazy or anything, but because taxes are crazy and everything is so expensive. And now with the high interest rates, my monthly expenses went up $4000+ for no reason. Just based on interest rates. I had a pho lunch for 2 last week and it was freaking $70! Crimes are increasing like crazy and the government keeps having talks of handing out money when we are in so much debt. Seriously the government right now is discouraging talented hard working ppl and encouraging lazy leeches to keep being lazy. Our healthcare is also a joke. Doctors know nothing and are only there to write prescriptions. The amount of people I know that was misdiagnosed for conditions so obvious that any 10 year old can figure out by googling their symptoms is ridiculous. \n\nBeing a Toronto native I really hate seeing the city/country crumble like this. I am starting to question if sticking around is the right choice. But I’m so established and embedded here I don’t know how to uproot everything and move elsewhere. And I wouldn’t even know where to go. The states have their slew of issues too

As a US investor in Canadian companies from Florida, I like see whats happening up there. \nThe comments seem to reflect my own fb in the US....people complaining about high prices of housing and food. This seems to be an OECD post pandemic phenomenon. \nI will say, if you can invest in your monopolies and oligopolies, you will do well. Canada has some of the best, safest and conservatively run companies and banks. \n....and while you may complain about your health care, here in America, everyone lives in fear of getting sick and then being wiped out financially.

For some reason the immigration policy favours Indians from India. 90% of the people favoured now for immigration into Canada are Indians and secondly Latinos from Mexico or some other Latin American country. People from West Africa are a trickle. All this information is on line, Google it. Also Canada is experiencing inflation and everyone is crying about the very high cost of living and finding housing. The housing market is now going through a depression and the amortization rate instead of 30 years is now leaning towards 40-60 years owing to high interest rates. Also there is not overt racism but it definitely THERE, try promotion to the highest level of management in the work place and see how many years you will plateau till retirement, aka HIT THE CONCRETE SEALING. Bro, I don't doubt your experience but you are definitely an anomaly, aka an exception as you are saying that you are here in Canada living the good life. So many West Africans in Toronto are working with InstaCard, Door Dash and doing Uber and Lyft. It is called the GIG economy. You are not in a stable job. The living standard is high in Canada, meaning even the poorest has access to a quality life through the Social Services govt system. Maybe you think that is living the good life equivalent or on par with a person of European ancestry who is at least 3rd generation Canadian and in over 75% of the cases have had a transference of Generational wealth.

I am a Canadian exasperated with the wait times for medical care here. There is a lot of prejudice in Canada against America. Our politicians are ruining our economy and many Canadians are more interested in sensationalism about American politics than they are about problems here. Everyone living in peace and safety can afford to criticise others. But Canada was safer, friendlier and more economically responsible in the past. There are unsafe neighbourhoods here, too. There is poverty here, too. Those who don't see deterioration are not looking closely. We battle the same demons as any people group and are just as vulnerable to calamity as our American neighbours. I don't want to leave my country. The people I love are here. The rising cost of living gives me fears about future homelessness. I grew up as a patriotic Canadian and believed America was our friend. We thought maybe Americans were more prone to bragging while Canadians were more modest. My nearest city used to be vibrant and friendly and now it is colder, more dangerous and there is visible ruin from addiction.

It is Trudeau government and uncontrolled immigration without proper people check out. So many criminals came here under refugee law and we see a lack of interest from Trudeau to stop it. Now enjoy and vote for fking Trudeau again.

It's interesting to see the comment section filled with agency mafiosi posing as ordinary citizens, trying to persuade Kenyans to move to Canada. These individuals are in the business of deceiving Kenyans and then leaving them stranded on the streets. The reality is that life in Canada is not easy, and it can take many years to establish oneself. The cost of living is among the highest, and opportunities can be elusive. Hi Lynn, this is a very interesting conversation. I moved to Canada in 2003 went to college and became a nurse. First of all it was not easy paying for college I was lucky that husband was supporting with the bills as I went to school. So I would say that I have skills that are very marketable. Our combined family income was over $100,000 CAN. We mortgaged our first home which was very basic for a LOT of money. We had our kids and we had to struggle with childcare as most young families do. By North American standard, we were doing good. We each had a good car ( loaned), we made trips to Kenya every so often but in 2016 we decided we wanted to move back home and we sold our home and we did. I HAVE NO REGRETS. There were several things that made us reach our decision. First, I truly believe that for the Canadian system to work as it does, it has to entrap its residents. Even after 10 years of work we did not have money in the bank. Everything we owned really belonged to the bank. The light bulb moment for me came when I evaluated my net worth. A primary school teacher in Kenya after 10 years of work with good financial management will own a plot, a simple house and will start to invest for retirement. After 10 years of work, there wasn't much in the account, our house would need 25 years to finish paying mortgage and to be honest there wasn't much to show for those years of work. Quality of life really sucks the amount of stress will definitely send you to the grave sooner. This is the case for most first generation immigrants. You might say you are sacrificing and building a future for your children but, my observation was since our diaspora children have not grown in Kenya to see the need for money and what life really looks like without the comforts they are used to, they do not have the same drive as the parents so they often do not excel they are just ordinary. There is also the struggle of growing up as a minority group. A lot of our children because they are seeking acceptance will struggle with self esteem, will have depression or will join the LGBTQ community where they get sense of belonging regardless of their colour. The morals are also different from their parents and they are shaped by the society they grow up in. When I looked at what my life would look like if we kept living there, lets say we eventually pay off our mortgage, when we are old and requiring care, our children will not be able to support themselves and support us because they have to work to sustain themselves so we would to move to assisted living or nursing homes. The cost of senior care is not covered by the government unless you have no money. so we have to sell out home which would be old and outdated but still very expensive and we would have to pay $5000-$10000 per month depending on the type of care we need. so as you can see if we ended in a nursing home for 5 years we will have depleted all the money we made from the sale of our home. So by the time we die, we would not have money to leave for our children. So we worked really hard, supported the economy, and die leaving not much at all for our children, we sacrificed our quality of life, and ended up with children who don't think much of themselves or have very distorted morals. I still remember in my mind as we drove to the airport on our way back to Kenya, I thought of the story of Lot. He was pretty successful in Sodom but I'm very sure on his death bed he had lots of regrets why he ever went there. I know its tough being in Kenya but if you have a job or any way to make ends meet, be like Abraham. God will bless you regardless of whether you are in the dessert.

I just got back from a visit to Toronto. I was visiting a friend who lives in a subsidised housing complex whose management NPO just declared bankruptcy. He was given a notice telling him that he will alright until the end of the month. After that he has no idea what will happen. He expects some sort of political intervention but the end of the month is still less than 10 days away.\n\nFrom my point of view all levels of government must act immediately: restrict rent increases and stop the post-covid price gouging; reduce regulations that limit the amount of infill housing, and density in existing neighbourhoods (allow the construction of missing middle housing and eliminate parking minimum regulations); and start building public housing again. \n\nWe cannot rely on corporations or private interests to fulfil basic human needs. What we are seeing now in the Toronto region, the Vancouver region, and Calgary is a crisis created by government neglect and corporate greed. The situation requires a massive emergency response at all levels of government.

At least from what I have seen in Ghana, people are starting businesses.\n\nI am going to say something I observed about Ghana. I found out that women, as usual, are more hard-working. I realised that the men don't have work because they are lazy or have too much pride. I have watched so many videos where so many business owners complain about the ineffectiveness and inefficiencies of the workers. They are not dedicated when they work for other people. I watched these business owners whose workers in the farms are mostly women, and they were very happy that women are easier to control and have good work ethics as opposed to men. The men prefer jobs where they don't use their energies such as Yahoo Yahoo boys, selling in shops where they don't touch anything or lift a finger.\n\nGrowing up, we knew that men were supposed to do the hard-working jobs in society. But these days, men like to idle around and touch nothing. The reasons being that the African culture teaches us that men are not supposed to do anything at home. They are supposed to be served by women. Then, instead of the men going out there to do the hard work and make the money, they wait around expecting cushy jobs that don't make them lift a finger.\n\nLook at China that you mentioned. These boys work absolutely hard. Even in the villages. Look at Muslim countries. You will never see women working on the streets. The men are even the ones who cook the food on the streets and sell. Check countries like Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka. In Africa, most things are done by women.\n\nAll this japa that people are fighting for. Have we ever thought of the agenda of these people needing free and cheap labour? I came to realise that we stupid Africans don't yet understand. Our children eventually become strangers, and we remain just surrogate parents. Most of our children are never going back to Africa, and when they get to an age, they become like strangers to us. Whatever we say, they look at us like archaic. What then makes them Africans anyway. We have seen so many of them who barely know their countries of origin and have never ever been there. They do not know their relations. In fifty years' time, that generation has lost their roots, and was that our intentions initially? This all dawned on me recently with my children, and I feel absolutely dejected because they are not interested in our country. All my hard work is gone down the drain, and all that can happen is for us to leave our children behind and live like people who never had children in the first place. For now, most people see it like something to be proud of, and are happy to say ( my children live abroad). Africans are the most stupid people I know, and that is why we are always used for slave labour. Why are they all approving all these visas and allowing all these people to drown at sea? \n\nThese countries allow these fake visas deliberately because they drain African countries to enrich their own since they can't get the minerals easily these days.

A somewhat depressing video, because it's an actually accurate portrait of the city, as it is. Toronto and Canada as a whole is governed by politicians and bureaucrats, who rely on experts opinion of what could be, if x,y,z all come together as envisioned. These pixie dust ideas are often aspirational, but sadly lack a base in reality. Slogans and cheerleading don't make things happen. Rarely is there enough funding to support implementation of these grandiose ideas, and somehow these same leaders ensure they get a chunk before anyone else, cause they have a standard of living to maintain. They just really feel for the pain and suffering of those who are not them. Toronto and Vancouver used to be Canadian examples, that those of us didn't live or want to live there could still be proud of. These cities also were viewed as examples to follow by other Canadian population centres. So the same issues keep reoccurring, because in abstract theory they could work. By the time reality shows that they are not working, it is too late, and too hard, and too embarrassing to change course. \nA very interesting video by a creator who took her rose coloured glasses ( we all have a pair just admit it), and sees what is and then says it out loud.

This is an interesting overview of Canada and its many issues. I would love to see a follow up video or two looking into these same issues but from a few different perspectives. 1) regionally - Canada is very diverse so our regions are quite different in culture, problems and cause of each. The major regions are: Maritimes/Ontario/Quebec/Prairies/West Coast/ Territories. 2) because of our diverse landscape different races are attracted to different areas. I have not studied this impact on our racism and political issues but would love to see someone like you do so. It appears to me that immigrants are disproportionately gathered along the US/Canada border and big cities, particularly east and west coast. First Nations are disproportionately populated in Rural and northern areas where resources overall are less available to all races. I would expect to find that this population disbursement would also reflect in our political leadership. For example more populated cities are far more likely to have immigrant own businesses and politicians, In rural and northern communities politicians are more likely to be white because First Nations politicians would be more inclined to work within the First Nations political channels where they can actually do more good for their communities. 3) The diversity that makes up 'white' as a race. It appears to me that Canada historically has been more inclined to attract 'White' races versus other 'colours'. We have large populations of British, Swedish, Irish, Russian, Ukrainian, French, Norwegian, and Polish to name a few. All of which have large diversity in their culture and history but are often classified as 'white'. 4) The massive impact the past 5 + years of politics and world affairs have had on the divisions within Canada. Personally I see and feel far, far more judgements between races, economics and regions than ever before.

Hello brothers and sisters I’m seeing a problem here. The interest rate in the late 1970s and early 1980s interest rate was 12-18%. People\nComing now are in MUCH better financial condition then people who came then with nothing. The difference is two main things: many new immigrants don’t have the same drive and motivation that previous immigrants in terms of sacrifices such as not driving a mustang, but they also didn’t just settle for labour jobs, they used their brains and began business along side labour. Second thing is, the immigrant wants to see the result before putting in the work. If after getting out of the horrible conditions of India and coming to Canada, a country loaded with opportunities, you still have difficulties then you need to change your expectations and work ethic to match, if they don’t then don’t complain. Cost of living is not the issue, it is the false expectation that they give themselves. To be quite honest with you it takes most immigrants one generation not 5-10 years, so either start working smarter or wait to have this reflection of what Canada is like until you have lived here for 50 years.

As an older person who migrated decades ago after protesting in my old country, I encourage young people below 45 to FIGHT for your countries. Fight bad goverments. 7 billion people on the planet cannot move to the few western countries that seem to work and appear attractive on the surface, it’s not possible. The taxpayers in those countries are feeling it. Look at the folks sleeping on the floor in NY! The homeless citizens don’t have places to sleep but politicians are lodging new border crossing migrants in hotels at taxpayers expense, creating resentment! \n\nFight those oppressing you in your countries. Black America “fought” to eliminate Jim Crow so we can even move here. Black America and the White allies who struggled for civil rights ARE the reason the west has even been tolerant of the amount of immigration in the last 40 years! \n\nThere is no peace without a fight… even after the civil rights fights including the million man March 60 years ago? by MLK, the struggle against racism continues. \n\nHe left because of his children but will find out in 25 years time that they will want to connect with their roots even after succeeding in the West. \n\nYoung folks, take African, Latin American, Caribbean and Asian countries back from oppressive greedy corrupt rulers to reduce the need to leave our places of birth. I “fought” oppressive corrupt regimes with other like minded folks when I was younger before leaving! I wish we were more that were interested in protesting! Now folks are giving up without a serious protest, distracted by entertainment and the illusion of utopian countries which is not true. They find out too late! \n\nWestern politicians and governments need to stop cooperating with oppressive governments in these areas if they truly want to tackle immigration. Freeze their stolen loot like we did to the Russian oligarchs, force them to return the loot into their various economies and create good middle class jobs! \n\nThe west works because most work is assembly line in nature, glorifies slavery. A doctor has a target of about 15 to 20 patients to see per day and rushes you out of his office because the corporation he works for only cares about money and KPIs! You really aren’t allowed to interact with patients and provide personalized service. A pharmacist has to fill anything between 200 to 350 prescriptions, give a certain number of immunizations and see a certain No of patients per day. There is no time for niceties! A corporate professional May work remotely but has to deliver on so many projects he is up till 10pm and only gets up to eat. We have beautiful homes, drive nice cars etc but MUST work like the clock in an assembly line fashion! Most of us pay so much of our income as taxes we end up with less than 70% as paychecks! Things aren’t always what they seem!

One slight concern is that skilled wages are already lower in Canada and venture capital is far less accessible so it's harder to get the full benefit of these skilled workers.\n\nIt will be interesting to see how this plays out in terms of bifurcation of wealth in Canada as housing prices will only continue to soar but mass skilled immigration should keep wages relatively steady. ?

I like it here….mMy friend s are snow birds Canada in summer and winter in the US…our health care is good…have to have good people there…yes health coverage is important …we had violence in school shooting also….would like to visit and see the place sometimes..only went once over the border..interesting video

I’m a Canadian myself, and it’s very interesting to see your reaction to Canadian’s response to that question. I think what you said about being desensitizing is true, I think because the gun violence, the crazy politics, and the attacks on women’s and minority rights, these are things that have become so common in the US that American started to see these things as “normal”. And to a lot of Canadians, these are our core values. A lot of us are proud that we don’t have that (serious of) these issues here, so I am not surprised in any sense that majority if not all of those people in that subreddit said no.\n\nI used to travel to the US for a living, and I actually asked to change my job so I don’t have to do that anymore. I didn’t feel safe, I didn’t feel good when I travel there. You mentioned it’s depending on the cities, and you might be right, but I can tell you I have met A LOT of very crazy people during my years of travels, and they are all friend very different places: the east, the south, the west, big and small cities.

It was so interesting to see the Pakistani couple scheming so hard to just find a way to get out of Pakistan the man cunningly schemed even in marrying a Pakistani girl,who will study in Australia & the guy will piggyback her to follow to Australia & scheme even to get his parents into Australua, whereas Indians only want to further their careers & maybe return to India in future.

I have mixed feelings about this video. This video does a good job outlining the immigration process but it does not highlight any of the negative consequences of immigration that Canada is experiencing. One of the main reasons why cost of living is so high in Toronto and Vancouver is precisely because we have so many immigrants coming in without enough housing supply. This is by design because politicians and the upper class have a vested interest in keeping real estate prices high because so much of their net worth is tied up in the housing market.\n\nAnother negative is that employers hire immigrants working low skilled jobs and pay them less than Canadians because the immigrants are willing to be taken advantage of since they're just happy to have a job in Canada which pays better than their country. \n\nAnother myth that gets repeated is that Canadian takes immigrants out of compassion and unfortunately a lot of Canadians believe this. It was never about compassion, it's about bringing more people to 1) pay taxes to support our social welfare as Canadian birth rates decline and boomers retire, 2) keep housing costs high and 3) pay immigrants lower wages for the same work because immigrants are fine being exploited since they have a job in a first world country.\n\nAnother problem is the cultural shift. In the most immigrant-dense regions you'll find that many immigrants themselves surprisingly don't want more immigrants coming to Canada because they see these negative consequences. The people who are most pro-immigration have no problem cramming 8+ people in a basement and exploiting their labour because they make enough money to live in communities that immigrants can't afford, and so they don't have to deal with the cultural shift that's taking place. This is NOT the fault of immigrants, but rather the politicians who put economic growth over quality of life. Over HALF the people in the GTA weren't born in Canada, so they didn't go through our school system and have no connection to our culture. Canada is unfortunately going to become very racist over the next 10-20 years as Canadians start feeling like outsiders in their own country. It's somehow considered racists to criticize the effect of multiculturalism on social unity, yet the cultures we accept in Canada only became distinct cultures because of monoculturalism.

I usually really like PolyMatter but this video is clearly biased and missing important details. \n\nWhat this video does not talk about is that we already have millions of H1B in this country competing for jobs with American citizens; go into any IT department of most banks, and you will find mostly H1B workers. Walking into any major university career fair, you will see the predatorial scene of hordes of foreign master students competing against American bachelors for the same new grad jobs; with many of the foreign students already having real career experience in their own country competing against inexperienced American young adults. \n\nThis video also does not mention the H1B lottery is not a single-try event. Everyone is given 3 tries and it refreshes if you get another American degree. \n\nLastly, this video does not mention the fact that people not on American soil could also apply for the H1B lottery which contributes further to the low rate. \n\nComparing pays between companies was ridiculous in this video's context. Google L3 in America should be compared with Google L3 in Canada, which are not very different in pay, after adjusting for the cost of living.\n\nIn terms of the country cap, just because some countries happen to have more people than other countries, it's not America's problem to solve; America has to do what is in the best interest of America. In this case, America simply decided to prioritize diversity in yearly admittees.

Damn. Im right next door in Buffalo. We' obviously have these similar issues in the states. Thankfully my city has been able to dodge the influx as it is happening in nyc, Chicago. Interesting to see it happening to a similar capacity in Canada

At 65, I have managed to visit 35 of the US states. Each time I returned to Canada, I got down on my hands & knees to kiss the ground of this country. I felt instant stress relief as soon as I did return safely. These days, I never want to step foot there again. To make life more interesting, I have a brother in Chicago. There’s an oxymoron. He is a trucker that likes Nascar, has no children of his own & married a lovely American girl who already had children (now grown). He sees the variations between counties - he stays for the $$. He comes home for huge doses of Canada & family.

As a Canadian there looks like some great places to visit in the USA but i would never move to the US. The biggest issue in the US is Gun violence, there attachment to guns. Number two is health care, number three is weather volatility and more adverse weather conditions. Instead of one main government the US seems to have two which prevents any real change for the better. Money controls more government and political decisions than even in Canada which is already bad enough. The NRA controls more government and policing. They are seen as the bigger risk to American safety and security. I believe many Canadians believe the NRA are on the cusp of being the largest domestic terrorist organization and closure to a major cartel. Not even the military could control the NRA if the US decided to enforce new laws that the NRA felt would effect their financial, political or perceived control in the US. This is a big reason Canadians may not want to move to the US. To think there is a private military ready to go to war against their own people in the drop of a hat, reminding North Americans of the war between the North and South. There are beautiful places to see in the US, there are hard working and brave people in the US and i am sure there are more good people than bad but those with power, control and weapons have the great degree of balance. The US has a lot to be proud of and still so much possibility and ability to grow if it were not for those with the majority of power that is not being used for good or in the best interest of the majority of US citizens. Love the architecture and old districts and those trying to preserve the environment, farms, seed diversity and best of what made the US great.

No offence to Tyler, but the number of school shootings I've seen covered in the news from small towns in the US is extensive. I've seen countless small communities in the US rocked by mass killings, usually taking place at schools where children are the main targets. And every time I see one of these stories, there's always at least one distraught parent explaining how this type of thing never happens in their community and how they never thought it would happen to them. I find it interesting that Canadians are generally more informed and aware of the prevalence of gun violence in the US compared to actual Americans. School and mass shootings happen so frequently in the US, that I no longer even look into the stories. I've become completely desensitized to them and unsurprised whenever I hear about the most recent school shooting. My perception is that nowhere is safe if the US, even if you think you live in a small, quiet, safe community.
