People in Canada just have to do what they have to do. But there are ways to carry on without 100% of the US business and hospitality. We have maintained a high level standard of living, when by all rights we should not have it. Many want to blame government, but one part of the problem is an over reliance as an exporter of raw natural resources and a reliance on generally a single market (USA) for our goods. Interestingly enough the problems have been reinforced by governments of every type. What annoys me most is that these issues have been known for a long time, and the various governments have been scared to do anything about it. And they never took Sir Donald's words seriously - either about the tarriffs or statehood. I have heard zero from any level of government looking for new markets for our goods, yet they have had since November to do something. Going to be a stressful ride for many of us. I am recently retired and wonder if I should be worred.

They are property developers so they don’t mind paving over the Agricultural land reserve but god forbid a fourplex is built in our neighborhood. However I am not too cynical I have seen progress by the current government AFTER THEY WHERE -20pts in the polls. Now I just hope the Tories don’t get rid of the Housing accelerator fund and other funds that will make a impact in 10 years.

I would assume the increased legal consequences would skew the new illegal border crossings from migrants looking for work so they can raise their kids in a country with more economic oppurtunities to a higher percentage of criminals mixed in. You did a service by presenting that report. However you really missed the mark on this report about Brampton... in many many ways. You need to do more research, you can't 'lead' your interviewee's, and you have to provide information, facts. There were all kinds of directions you could have gone with the comment provided by the people you spoke to, there were all kinds of facts that you could have brought to the table. There IS perhaps a story there, but you didn't find one worth telling. It looks like you're really dedicated to this pursuit of reporting, and it it looks like you're a one man team... this work is hard to do, you should consider getting some help 'putting dots together' and creating your presentations.

I've been to the states many times! My opinion is that Americans focus on wallets more than social issues! Americans care more about their own circumstances than working together to help the whole of the population. No one likes to pay more taxes but they are a nessesary evil to be able to pay for health care, public security, and so on! So sure Americans don't pay as much for some things but pay more for things that they shouldn't pay! Health care is something that is very important, how can you be expected to pay for health services if you can't work cause you're ill, doesn't make any sence! Even Americans leave thier country because of what it's becoming! 50- 100 years ago everyone wanted to immigrate to America or Canada, now a days everyone is immigrating here to Canada. We each have our little flickers of time here... No one else will ever know much, if any, of what it is like to be who we are, and for the most part no one will ever really care. Our life is ultimately our life, and so long as we are not harming others in the process we must create a life of our own meaning, determining our own objects of importance and committing to their pursuance. Throughout our life we are faced with serious decisions about what we believe, who we are, and what we do, and mostly none of it is self evident. If we look we can always find a reason to regret any decision we make, move or stay, agree or disagree, take the job or quit, marry or divorce, live one path or another... In all cases whatever the choice may be, we will only know the outcome of the one we take, and none we take will ever ultimately resolve the uncertainty of life. However, perhaps it is less about getting a potential course of life right, and more about attempting to do so with an effort of self honesty and virtue. To live a life that can be looked back on with the knowledge that some of our decisions were wrong in their effects, but right in their intention of not selling ourselves short. Ultimately no matter what we do or say or believe, there will always be a great many who disagree, or judge, or become upset by our decisions. It is of essential importance that we ensure that among those people, we are not one of them.

I'm reading.\n Some of the comments. I know my opinion may not matter. But it may eh inside some people. I hope I guess the way that I would look at this is being in their shoes. It's completely different than ours. We are given opportunities from birth. Basically to common deer, the life that we would like to have well, at least most of us are.
