Why does it seem like it's only Europe and the United States that these migrants want to go to...and it feels they think they have the RIGHT to do so. I can tell you with a british passport I have to comply with all types of entry policies including covid policies and strict restrictions on how many days I can visit. Yet these guys can just force their way in! ( .. or try to )

He is NOT a refugee so Asylum is not acceptable. Nor is he an Immigrant. He is an illegal economic migrant - please use the right terminology. He left a safe country for Canada and he should be returned to the USA or his home country. No sympathy.

I see the harm in that border crossing when Roxham road was open it was dangerous and illegal, I don't see why Migrant reports and Human rights groups are upset about the closure it's keeping the migrants safe and that law will not break in Canada, and I Immigrated here legally 41 years ago from Persecution in Somalia. Those who sneak through the borders will break the law and those who come through the border will obey the laws in Canada. The new migrants have entitlements, thinking that the law doesn't apply to them because they are migrants.

I feel sorry for a lot of these people. This is going to keep happening, especially with climate change and unstable nations. Canada do treat these migrants slightly better than the United States but this is a hard thing to fix right now, with all of the things going on in the world. I am a hard-core a Democrat and I don’t have any solution to this issue, but there needs to be one.

why doesnt Canada welcome these migrants? afterall they are just wanting a better life, right? Canada is a big land with a small population and can certainly house so many more migrants that the US can.

I mean, isn't this clear cut in most countries? Illegal migrants should be sent back right away. To deter this, second time maybe 2 weeks in jail, then deport.\nI'm sorry but we spent about 7 years getting to be residents and then citizens. We had to go through interviews, in depth medical tests/hostory, financial and education or skilled trade scrutiny, so we are a net benefit to Canadian society. Some also spend tens of thousands, sometimes their life savings, on the fees and paperwork, which also takes years.\nRefugees from war, etc are different, but if you just feel like it's a better life and opportunity, there are official channels to apply to be a permanent resident.

As a Canadian citizen (born and raised) those migrants from New York should move overseas (AKA our nextdoor overseas neighbour UK/EU). Canada is dealing with crisis right now (not only caused by not only both our Canadian Prime Minister Trudeau and our Canadian Premier Doug Ford but also the Russian President that started the war that screwed up Canadian gas prices). \n\nWhat Americans hear about Canada is a split 50/50. Yeah Canada has free health care. But when you reach 25+ you have to pay your own.. unless you have insurance. Also in the province where I live tax percentage here is DANG 13%. It's DANG expensive because Canadian dollar is not as strong as the big 4 (USD/UK Pounds/Europe Euros/Japan Yen). The only province that pays little-to-none taxes is the province of Alberta Canada.\n\nAll-in-all I advise migrants that live in US: DO NOT live in Canada because Canada is a sh*t country. And you'll be screwed by both the Trudeau and Doug Ford Government.

People trying to get into the US the right way through the legal process of H1B visas is basically a lotto. Skilled workers that have been educated in the US only to be turned away instead of being valued. They deserve priority and should be rewarded for their dedication.\n\nAnd here you have unskilled migrants who may not even speak English, running into the US, and putting more stress on the gov’t at the local, state, and federal level. We cannot be a welfare state or we’ll go bankrupt.\n\nWe need a better system.

Migrants are going to Canada instead of USA! For the first time I can say something is not right with the USA.

This is totally unacceptable. As a migrant myself, me and my whole family had to follow rules, submit requirements, tons and tons of paperwork, medical works, and last but not the least, year and years of waiting!! For people to cross boundaries, illegally migrate, then said country where illigal entry was made upon welcome such people is not only infuriating but also shows us (people who did it all by the book and followed rules) that laws can and obviously be discarded. Yeah our federal governement is soooo generous with our money. Every fake asylum seeker in the world can just come to cross illegally on roxham road and we will take them in, give them a check, emergency housing, a work permit if needed, health care access. Skilled expatriates leave Canada _more_ than other migrants because the USA is right next door, or because the UAE offers a better lifestyle than overpriced Canada or Australia. The UN will have the right to decide how many refugees will enter Canada the plan is to let in as much as millions within the next 10 years. Our culture, history everything we worked will be destroyed. Canada in a very short time wil not be recognizable. To pay for this massive migrant welfare scam the carbon tax scam will force us to pay more taxes which will do nothing for the envirmont. Why don't all the nations like US and Canada try to help fix what is happening from the places these people are fleeing, especially if they are murder capitals? They can recruit these migrants to form coalitions to rebuild their nation. What if they are really are going to suffer there, without outside intervention, by being recruited, instead, into gangs or be killed or raped? If we send troops to the middle east for our vested interest, then don't we also have at least some vested interest to send troops in Honduras and El Salvador? We can prevent the entire population from migrating, prevent people from being exploited and hurt while traveling or living illegally and the taxpayers and citizens won't have to pay for court costs, education, healthcare and welfare. There are plenty of things our nation can do to uplift our own destitute and out of luck an alone citizens...with that money. With the money now saved, it can be diverted to cover the costs of our troops, counselors, educators in those nations. Then it is possible and foreseeable to reunite all the undocumented immigrants back to their now safer home countries. I understand why they flee and also understand why the US and Canada cannot absorb these large population of people, and they have the right to determine who is invited in, so....why can't there be more permanent solutions? I feel, certain pathetic political groups are playing these migrants, the law-abiding citizens and others in their game of chess. Lives are not pawns for chess. Is there a hidden path for drugs, money, prostitution that is being quietly supported? Are certain businesses lobbying in the millions and billions to get cheap labor? Is that why this problem is not finally being solved but kept alive for so many years? There are basic solutions that have not been tried in earnest. You cannot just bring everyone in and you cannot just turn your face to the problems these undocumented people face... I feel like much is not being discussed about this situation....Something else is going on that they are not covering...

You cannot simply pick a time out of history and say that you want to go back to the way things were some 70 years ago. BUT if one of those people makes a dramatic difference to your country then think how far ahead you will be. \nThe alternative is to send back the refugees or illegals and wish them well. Migrant women, children and men are globally sleeping on the street. Asylum has to have a valid right to life process. Trudeua is trying do the right thing. The UK courts have just imposed restrictive orders on Britain First, a political party, from entering Luton Town Centre. This has been done to appease Muslims as it is an area that has a high Muslim population. I am no supporter of Britain First and many of their membership are right wing thugs, but to ban people from an area because they hold anti-Islam views is effectively state sponsored non-Sharia no-go zones - it is time for the population of Europe to stand up to the invasion of Europe that has been going on for decades and has recently been accelerated significantly by the 'migrant' crisis. Islam has been trying to invade Europe for centuries - we even fought Crusades to stop the expansion, Charles Martel will be turning in his grave!!!
