No international student(or Indian) will come to Canada if there is no route to PR. Do you think Canadian colleges and universities are very high in the ranking list? Not at all. So imagine if students only had the option to return home after graduation, none will come to Canada and the economy will suffer. International students exploitation is happening on the federal level, then why bother with Provincial and colleges? These are temporary visas but ultimately, PR(settlement in a new country) is the goal, otherwise these students will not pack their lives and come over here.\n\nReference: I came to Canada in 2022 and left in early 2024. There are many reasons why I left but one I felt was the demographic shift and the amount of refugees that country accepts. Additionally Canada needs to raise the bar on the quality of people coming in. The States are great to visit we love Florida but I would never leave Nova Scotia. I love my country the people are second to none, great school system ,can get a new heart and not cost a dime. As somebody who has been hit before, I have zero empathy for the one who caused the crash. In my case it was luckily just injuries to myself requiring physio and some rehab but others aren't as lucky. People need to be held accountable for mistakes they make. We would literally just start throwing punches at each other, it was honestly impressive how we both would manage to land equal amount of hits to look like literal bloody hell, and guess what, even those fights became competition as even our dads would throw money with the others pitching for their favourite. Fortunately, our moms, the only adults in the our community, looking back, people would just pick a side and watch as go at each other, than pull us off each other, would come stomping out of the house grab each one of us by our ears, gives us a good smack in the back our heads and sit us down, look each one of us straight in the eye, and say something like, “cut it out, you two are family, more brothers than cousins” they would demand that we both go hug it out, have a bath, if we managed to do that peacefully then we were allowed to partake in dessert that evening or allowed to stay up a little later watching tv, or whatever . My point with this overtly personal analogy is that both the Palestinian and the Israeli sides should be dragged off each there by their figurative ears pulled, sat down, scolded and reminded of their ancestrial ties to each other and to the very same land. \n\nBe honest with yourselves, some how amongst all this hate, vitriol, unnecessary death of innocent lives, are you, and those you rally with be truly ok with your opposing side coexisting harmoniously beside each other? If the answer to this question is no, the other side can not have any claim to this land and needs to be removed to god knows where, if not off the earth all together then it’s your people, not mine, that are doomed. We’ll still be chilling in North America, horrified at the unfolding events but chilling nonetheless. Although it somehow claims to not be doing so, the actions of Israel demonstrate a gruelling callousness towards Palestinian life or right to life, and the staunch calls of the constant pro Palestine protests, calling for the eradication of Israel, none absent of a deep, hate and disgust towards the Jewish people. Both are in need of serious internal reform. Honestly as a complete outsider, SHAME ON BOTH OF YOU. And as an outsider, I think it’s is important that pressure be applied to both sides to put their weapons down. Well. There are thousands of permanent residents from Canada who got stranded around the world in the pandemic. The travel restrictions Canada put in place for permanent residents are far out of line. I was at the airport the last week before airports got closed. I had even my return ticket printed out, checked online in. At the airport, I was told, with some other PR’s that as a PR we were not allowed to board the plane! Seriously? What country does this? For myself, I couldn’t return to Canada for 1.5 years! Panic in the first couple of weeks. Calling the Canadian embassy every week. Even asking if Canada had a way to extend the Permanent residency visa at the embassy available. No. If you are longer than 2 years away from Canada, you CANNOT RENEW YOUR PERMANENT RESIDENCY CARD! Well. Lucky me, I didn’t had to work. After 14 years of working and living in Canada, I just had enough from a country that is telling none Canadians that we are people of 2nd class. And no. I am not from India. I’m from Germany and we cannot have a 2nd passport like other countries. I just got rid of everything in Canada. I stayed in Panama. Renewed last year my German passport. Got a “lifetime” residency visa in Panama. Don’t have to be worried about heating costs anymore. It is warm year around. Maybe it was a good thing that Canada gave me the “2nd class human” feeling. That’s when you figure out in times of emergency what countries do for immigrants. Canada was one of a handful countries in the pandemic who blocked permanent residence card owners from returning!

None of them read, write, paint, play music, garden, create any handicraft. They cook, clean the house and wait for their tired children to come home from work and complain They are bored. I would hope you could find happiness in Canada. One of my concerns about living in a theocratic country would always be, is this choice really your own? Can you ever be certain, if faced with violations of your rights, that the choice is really yours? And, if not, can you consider yourselves as choosing Islam, rather than being forced into it, even if in absence of theocratic rule, you would have chosen it anyways? Maybe I’m overthinking it.
