Right now, he's basically just doing photo ops in Ukraine, UK and anywhere else on our dime because Parliament is prorogued and the party in power, Liberal, is having a leadership race. So, while he may resign within the week once that leadership race is done, he's still technically in charge.\n\nWhat makes that race and the PM's prorogation so bad is that we're in the middle of a crisis - several actually - caused in part directly by Trudeau and his Liberals (and the NDP supporting them). The latest would be Trump's tariffs starting today, March 4, 2025. Trudeau always disappears during a crisis, leaving us to fend for ourselves - (1) COVID, he was at the cottage using every excuse not to be accountable for anything or using unconstitutional powers to crush a protest he didn't know how to handle, (2) Chinese spies, he's ignoring our intelligence service, (3) federal worker strike, he's in NYC at some gala.... I could go on but there's a reason we're hurting so bad.\n\nWe have zero federal leadership, and a federal government that makes things worse for us with things like: over-regulation, subsidizing media to keep us misinformed, nerfing select natural resource sectors but favoring others (oil and gas suffer, while coal is fine... probably because we sell it to China, but I digress), letting criminal out of jail, uncontrolled immigration, passing policies like the FHSA that drive home prices higher and higher, and of course, more and more taxes. I could go on about the billions in taxpayers' money the government blows - it's like a black hole - or the fact that MPs keep getting raises - April 1 is their fifth since COVID - and most federal and government employees are all getting raises at a time when the rest of us are learning to get by with less and less because we're taxed so much and housing, groceries, etc. are so unaffordable.\n\nI have applied for US citizenship. I want to stick around to fix Canada, but I think it's too far gone. We have too many socialists/communists in power and they're not getting voted out any time soon. It's been fun Canada, it's been fun.

I hope Trump blocks all government funding to these sanctuary cities. Stop the flow of tax dollars going to illegals and help actual Americans that fell on hard times and need a help up, not a hand out!

Im Canadian and while the tariffs are gonna suck, I completely understand why Trump is doing it. All Trump actually did was make them have to abide by the exact same standards as every single other person that joins the military. That’s called equality and equal treatment under the law. It’s blatantly obvious what’s happening next, big tariffs on the EU and NATO will be reducing/eliminated. \nThe US has accepted the reality that it is no longer has global hegemony, therefore some of these actions are logical if painful. Can I ask what is the root cause of this tariff. What is actual trumps demand for this tariff and if his demands are good why Canada and Mexico could not resolve the difference? I am not supporting trump but thought of asking for the reason.

There’s nothing Canada can do when they have a surplus of 150 billion with US so if US put terrace at 25% and can put Terrace at 25% then Trump put it at 100 who’s gonna feel the pinch everything that has American they have gas they have wood they have all the minerals of Canada has they don’t need Canada for anything. A lot of us Americans remember learning about the tariff wars in history class that ended up in deciding fair trade was the better route. I fear we’re about to learn the same lesson again…\n\nAs far as the drug trade goes apparently the GOV doesn’t spend enough time on the internet because the cartels are no longer just in Mexico they’re in the USA and in Canada. They have learned the Canadian border is a lot easier to cross and they can get into BC pretty easily due to relaxed immigration policies In Canada.. they probably don’t actually know where the drugs are coming from or where they’re being manufactured entirely. The only thing I can see is auto sales are slumping and maybe they can blame this on the tariff policy for massive restructuring. \n\nI kind of understand wanting to negotiate with Mexico because they probably buy less American goods than Americans buy Mexican goods (drugs excluding) but I’m guessing Canada is a better customer of American goods than Americans are of Canadian goods. If Trump was really smart he’d convince some factories to actually invest in Mexico with cooperation from the Mexican government investing in efficient transportation from the manufacturing sectors to the American border and the coasts for distribution. This would likely really help their economy and change the whole dynamic of all the things Trump has issues with. Fix it at the source not try to treat the symptoms.

I'm sure the Chinese, and the rest of the world actually would love to start trading more with Canada. I'm pretty sure there is nothing they can't supply that the US currently provides, and what would Trump hate more than a picture of Trudeau shaking hands with Xi.

Back in 2016, Trump introduced 25% tariffs on China 301-classification imports that severely damaged my business. For whatever reason, he then exempted the tariffs, but the public still assumed that they were in place. It was a perfect Trump win-win move to make the voters think that he was acting tough, while actually exempting the tariffs for us importers. Unfortunately, Biden got into office and immediately took away the exemptions and screwed us. I mention all of this in order to exemplify how nothing is as it seems when it comes to Trump. Sometimes you have to let this stuff play out before overreacting. I think that Canada made a mistake by overreacting so quickly. This will force Trump's hand to pursue the trade war, even if it was not his actual intention.

The only problem is Trump behaves like a 4 year old. You can’t reason with them. Look what happens if you say no to a toddler. \nTantrum . This isn’t a regular bully, actually need the advisory of a phycologist on this one.

Possible solution..... Boisterously verbally downshift the agenda..... Fool them into thinking okay back to business normal.... To de-escalate the excitement.....
