Hey..This very helpful,my query is does the degree or NOC chosen matter? Like are there professions that are more sought? Like Australia i believe its easier to go as a skilled migrant for Doctors,Engineers,IT etc the rest of the professions is very challenging and nearly impossible to get invited to apply Does someone in the marketing field stand a chance? Also,are the points required for different felds the same,like the cut off is for example 500(for Doctors, IT, nurses, Drivers etc) or do they have different cut offs for different NOCs? Also,how did you settle there once you arrived? Did you have someone to host you? How long did it take you to get a job?

Why can't they come here legally?? My grandparents crossed the boarder and became legal Citizens. Followed the laws adopted the country and didn't try to change the country. They learned the language and worked migrant jobs until they found better jobs. They encouraged us all to stay in school and better ourselves. We are mostly all college educated and we learned so much from the experience. We didn't need hand outs and we didn't need loan forgiveness. I live in nyc, the migrants look at us , like we owe them . These people are coming from Venezuela ??, they r saying no to many jobs, and also r not poor .I witnessed a family of 7,all had jewelry, expensive clothing, I' thought asylum seeking was for groups of people looking for a better life education and a place to live, United States is going to go chapter 11,close the border, I remember what Castro did,let's send them to miami.

The migrants that I know, have better jobs than me. They don’t live in housing and are not on food stamps. They are not eligible for that assistance anyway because they were not born here and they make way more than allowed to be eligible. My neighbor is a migrant worker and he works in the pipeline industry. I have no idea how he got a job like that so quick. I work in retail as a service writer and maintenance guy.

First, these are not “migrants”, they are illegal aliens - the first thing they’re doing entering this country is breaking immigration law. Second, legal immigrants who paid out of state tuition and got US college degrees and worked for 13 years on H1B visas are now being deported because they got laid off from their tech jobs and couldn’t find another job in 60 days. No matter how painful that path is, there is a legal and right path to immigrating to the US - this is far from it.

Many new migrants struggle to find a home and to get the proper documents to establish themselves, like the rest of us.\nCanada allowed foreign buyers to buy properties and lands, which have driven the housing market to an insane level we see today. If we had an immigration program where after passing a background anyone can join a roving us work immigration camp where for 5 years they’ll work and get free education afterwards so they can save and pick up american work and life culture. \nFor 5 years every new migrant will be building roads, laying water and electric lines and building homes and neighborhoods. This will bring cost of living way down here in the USA while doing a faster better job of Americanizing our newcomers. What are they gonna do if they do get to the US? They can’t get a job, they can’t rent an apartment or buy a house let alone a car. And what are we just gonna give them free housing and food? Know how many people in this country are struggling as it is. This is my thought..The people that want these illegal migrants to enter the country so bad, should bring them into their own homes, let them sleep in their beds, eat their food, and use all their shit.

My friend is from Mexico who came to the US legally and has been a border officer for many years now. He has a very hard time telling Mexican migrants that they cannot enter the US illegally. But the law is law and it is the same if you enter Mexico. It's just a matter of Mexico doesn't have many opportunities for jobs that pays well and it's a better life in the US. I grew up with migrants all of my life. They worked 3 jobs for many hours per day but would rather have that than go back to Mexico - with no job. If Mexico had a flourishing economy, I feel migration isn't an issue. But then there's history - California belongs to Mexico but someone sold it to the Americans long ago.

Canada and others have been scolding us for so long about not being able to provide shelter, jobs and Healthcare to migrants and yet they're squirming when it happens to them. It's all easier said than done. Stop criticizing us when we can hardly survive in our own country. The huge problem is that these 'migrants' aren't really fleeing from a war-torn land where they're 'victims' of situation. A lot of them are the CAUSE of the crime and war-torn land. They commit the crimes that makes the land that way, then whine. They have kids they can't provide for. They want to work illegally and not pay taxes. In Quebec we already have over 40000 of these illegals living on government checks, taking space during a housing crisis, taking healthcare when the system is overloaded, sending their children to overloaded schools (Relative to the numbers of teachers) with them not contributing at all... they are making it harder for people to have families during a period of low birthrates. Or provide processing stations in other states and encourage migrants to travel their, or provide transport? If you have a small shop or restaurant get beaten by the big corporations that has franchises. the food costs are high and when selling u just cant sell for a better profit that can actually make you money. The Multi big paying makes money in Canada not the small business immigrants come and create. Those business don't built wealth because the big corporations are pushed by the Gov more in creating jobs and paying the big corporate taxes that in turn the taxes help support the social programs for those that cant work and also providing the basic needs to those that needs it through the taxes paid. In many African states many of the individual business that strife and create wealth because there isn't too much huge corporations that competes with this small business like the first world nations. In SA for example we have seen an explosion of many migrants going there creating small business and striving better than they will be in Canada. The taxes are high in Canada that's true u cant be rich sorry u will work until you lose your hair f not your hair turns white in a very short time due to too much stress and worries. Canada is good for social programs it takes care off those that don't' work if you work forget about getting rich but supporting those that don't work through the allocated taxes. Canada and the first world nations supports Big corporation and Franchising not really a fan of small business even when they are here they just don't create huge profits to think they will make it. In fact when the economy falls those shops easily shut down entirely and when they do reopen they barely make profits. I have seen Nigerian, Ghanaian small shops with Ethiopian and Jamaican business.

100% correct. I was one of those who left Canada. The funny thing is I found many Canadians (not migrants) who are engineers worked in the low income jobs in my place and a very good friend of mine who is a Caucasian Canadian at the end moved to South America. Another thing is it is not always easy to move on from low income jobs there. I met an Indian who is an engineer after living there for 30 years became a taxi driver.
