It is interesting how T operates he throws shit at the wall he scans for performative opportunities to flood the zone. The 51st rhetoric got him play. Then he justifies his tariffs with lies and half truths. US has benefitted economically and in terms of influence from being the big cheese. The order issue just another justification after the fact. . .facts do not support. T is the poor victim. Maga are victims???? Just opportinistic and grifter politics. Sickening.

The drug and immigration issue is smoke and mirrors. Don’t buy into it. You have a narcissist who looks for issues to motivate his moronic followers. Who , by the way are for the most part well off and affluent.\nJust not well educated and not well versed on the problems of the World.

That part of this song “I’m proud to be an American” went cold. Half of us “Americans” voted for this. We were warned and informed on their plans because of our own insecurity on certain issues blinded us on the bigger picture. I stand with Canada and Mexico etc I’m ashamed and appalled but what’s happening something has to be done…. Getting played is an understatement…

WHy was Trudeau waiting for Trump to tell him to stop sending Fentanyl? US Shoudl launch military attacks on Canada's drug lord and middlemen who are doing this? Impose sanctios n canada and issue arrest warrants for Trudeau and his cabinet.

This is Trump's version of The Wizard of Oz. Fentanyl was NEVER the issue. Why would an administration BENT on ruining federal workers' livelihood, cutting off food to the global poor via cruel reductions in USAid, gutting Medicaid show ANY concern for drug-related deaths?\n\nAstute author Naomi Klein (from Canada) coined the terminology of The Shock Doctrine. THAT is what's being done, but this time, instead of it being aimed at Middle East nations, it is hitting the U.S and its neighbors.\n\nShame on the fools pretending to be leaders, fools that our supreme court should have prevented from EVER holding office. SHAME!

As an American born Ukrainian, we stand with Canada, who continues. Donald Trump, Elon Musk, and JD Vance are very EVIL and VILE human beings. THESE 3 CRIMINALS ARE Taking the USA INTO MANY DIFFICULT SITUATIONS. Getting back in to being buddy buddy again with THE WORLDS BIGGEST CRIMINAL AND DICTATOR PUTIN, IS GOING TO BE A BIG ISSUE for Americans. Many have innocent children and civilians have been MURDERED in Ukraine by Putin. Even as we tried several times to talk peace though Putin has proven that he wants NOTHING TO DO WITH A CEASEFIRE AND PEACE!!! TRUMP SHOULD BE IN PRISON LIKE THE CRIMINAL THAT HE IS!!!!

Trudeau has not been an USA friend in years. Perhaps a friendly acquaintance and part time(when its a far left issue) alloy. Isn't he gone?? You are NO FRIEND of mine.

Dear Justin Trudeau,\n\nYou and your party done everything to destroyed Canada. Guess what ? It is all your fault. Resign asap. We need a change. I hope Pierre will be able to fix up your issues.

I voted for Trump and Im still proud it. However, I stand with Canada on this issue so long as Canada doesn't take advantage of the United States and does everything in it's power to stop illegals and fentanyl from crossing the border.

Lets go back to the roots to see if what comes or leads to this tariffs issue. We have to clean all the mess before we can rebuild and make America great again.

While I acknowledge that the way Trump and Vance addressed Zelensky could have been more diplomatic, as an American , I cannot justify allocating $360 billion of our tax funds towards resolving another counties war—especially when only half of that amount has been accounted for, and the other half remains untracked. Let that point sink in! The US is currently in $33 Trillion dolars in debt yet giving away money like candy . No other country is contributing money like we are . We simply do not have the resources to continue doing that . Our financial situation is worsening as we print more money to allocate toward other countries. Furthermore, 7% of the $33 trillion of the US debt is owed by other countries , including China . Our funds need to be utilized for our own benefit before being given away. We have veterans on the streets, the elderly suffering because SS isn't covering their basic needs , school system thatvis failing , health insurance unaffordable by most. We need to fix our own issues. We need to feed our own kids before we feed the neighbors, not the other way around.

that trump is a coward and bully! He looks unhealthy and he will probably die from a serious health issue before the 4 Year term!!!

Canadians... haven't dealt with the genocide that was done there. Work out your issues our indigenous people before you act holier than thou

My biggest thing with all of this is Canada, Mexico, Ukraine and dozens. Other countries /nations had no issue when we were aligning their pockets with money. Mind you OUR TAX MONEY as someone who had damage from the last two hurricanes to my home/roof I filed for FEMA, I was denied in less than 12 hours. We have plenty of money to go around to these other f****** countries but we don't have the money or anything to help our own people no....

Drugs are not the issue...comrade trump is

I stand with Canadian people but all these career politicians doing business as usual in no longer working. Simply fix the issues and there won’t be tariffs.

Wouldn't it just be easier to just try and do something about the immigration and fentynal issue at the border like Trump asked?
|
| 2025-03-04 | 0 |
To Justin, speak about Canada, don't worry about Putin and Russia - you lose me because I don't care about that. It's not your problem...stick to your issue.

I live in Vancouver and it has the largest open air drug market in North America. I can't recall Trudeau ever speaking about the Fentanyl pandemic so frequently. I worked with NPO's when they declared a public health emergency...hundreds were dying a month, and it seemed at the time that there was so little dialogue due to fear of public backlash for taking a stance on this issue.\n\nI'm not trying to get on a soap box here...but I'm just shocked. I could have given Trudeau a 5 minute drive through main and hastings in my 1998 RAV4 to show him how bad it is, and was...I wonder if he would have opened up this much?

He's got some issues! My Grandmother's Family was from Essex County. I didn't vote for any of this with our Allies! ??✌
|
| 2025-03-04 | 0 |
Well, from a European perspective, Trump is making the US if not an enemy (yet, anyway), surely not an ally or a friend, as you used to be.\nLots of European contracts will be lost - European countries will rely more on each other and Canada, Australia and other countries that we know we can still trust.\nAnd European consumers will move from American products and companies, especially anything Musk related, because people are really bothered and upset here, how easily an erratic madman can take a democratic country into an oppressive, destructive country.\nWe have no issues with the American people, apart from that you voluntarily brought this upon yourselves (and us), although it was screamingly obvious already in 2016.\nAnd you did it twice...

This is the Justin Trudeau I rather hear i have been at odds with him on other issues in recent years but he was much better spoken here.

I'm usually reasonable enough to realize that while I may disagree with many policy decisions, there's usually a relatively coherent line of thought to back said actions up. The problem here is that there’s no clear logic behind using tariffs as a tool to curb fentanyl trafficking or immigration. I'm not going to speak on the issue of immigration at the Canadian border because there simply is none. Yes, there are illegals from Canada, but almost 100% of them are from overstaying visas rather than crossing the border unlawfully. So let's talk about fentanyl. \n\nMost fentanyl in the US originates from China, often in precursor form, and is then processed in Mexico before being smuggled into the states. But it's typically trafficked in small, high potency quantities, often hidden in legitimate shipments or through mail, and only on very rare occasions is it being brought in by individuals crossing the border. It has _never_ been documented to have shipped in as part of large scale commercial imports, so a 25% tariff on legal trade with Canada and Mexico doesn’t directly target the black market supply chain at all.\n\nIf we take Trump’s reasoning at face value, the argument seems to be that he wants to exert economic pressure on Mexico and Canada as a means of having them crack down harder on drug trafficking networks. But the issue is that fentanyl simply isn’t coming in through mass import channels, so all this looks like is a punitive measure without a clear mechanism to actually achieve its stated goal. And the implications? Drastically higher costs for consumers in the US, Canada, and Mexico, with absolutely nothing to show for it.

This is what happens when a nation of uneducated people elects a president without understanding the issues. LEAVE THE CULT of TRUMP!
|

My biggest issues is how every country Villainizes Russia... They are a member of the UN. If they are so evil, why are they a member? If I was Russia I would be mad at every country too.\n\nI'm not praising Russia, I just find it nuts. You can disagree but by continually calling them evil doesn't help at all.

Tough words from a PM who has destroyed everything he has touched in our Canadian economy, persecuted peaceful protesters, froze people's bank accounts, and divided people on every issue. Now he is going to talk tough to Donald Trump as he walks out the door? What an absolute hypocrite!!!!

Justin untrue doe knows his government will go Bank rupt with out the un balanced trade deals that swindle Americans and benefits Canada so now he has to come to the bargain table to address this issue so Donald can correct this unfair trade deal Justin untrue doe is screwed and he knows it how he addresses the issue will determine if Canada goes bankrupt or not good work by Trump to press the issue to benefit America

I think it was Margaret Thatcher during the Reagan administration the one who said, Americans are notorious about choosing stupid presidents. So, what to say about that? What I've heard from some of my friends is that they don't care if democracy is gone as long as their taxes go down. They want a lower income tax bracket. They're very single minded about issues. We'll see how we fair once you have to pay more at the pump, when the price of electronics go up, when produce and beef, pork, and chicken become unaffordable. Yes, the middle and upper middle class probably don't care, but the lower classes and the already poor are not going to be happy. Once people are hungry, then you'll see people on the street. Once the farmers start losing their farms and small businesses start losing their investments, you'll see people on the streets. Americans are not hungry enough yet. Just wait.

Unbelievable that the whole world has to deal with this unqualified Criminal. They all have to speak to him as if the trade War has anything to do with them or Commerce. When in reality it's all about stealing from the poor to give to the rich. Trump does not like that he is the president to ballooned the US deficit more than any other president in history. This was done because of his tax cuts for billionaires the first time around. He wants to extend the tax cuts but he has been warned what it will do to the deficit. So tariffs are his plan to put back into the US coffers what will not be going in from billionaire taxes. The Red Hat Club has been stupid enough to buy the tariffs have anything to do with immigration or drugs. It's so easy for Trump to use these trigger issues to commit his crimes and then excuse it. The cult never questions if they're told it has something to do with hating immigrants. Tariffs are paid for by the US citizen. The little guys. It allows the US government to become a middleman in every transaction. Getting a cut when it has done nothing to deserve it. It is the way Russia runs things. Trump is always using the Russia Playbook of how to dismantle a democracy. It is the opposite of free trade and capitalism

Canada doesn't get it. This wasnt about fentanyl or any other alleged issue. The point is to make them grovel.

Thank you PM Trudeau for standing up for your people , thank you for clarifying the issue . Trump has no credibility , he has hoodwinked his people into thinking he cares about them . Sad

it's interesting.. now Canada wants to help stem the flow of drugs and illegal immigration into the US.. why not put a high priority on this issue in the years prior?

Thank you Trump and your idiocratic and senseless tariffs because you have untied Canadians in a way that have not been seen in a while. Im so happy we're sticking to our plans and not be bullied. The whole fentanyl issue is an excuse. He doesnt give a sh*t about anyone but his billionare cronies. His incredibly pathetic. I echo our Prime Minister's sentiment and sorry America, we were forced to do so. And we know this is NOT ALL of America. God bless us

Dont forget Canada applies tariffs on a variety of goods imported from the United States, but the specific goods subject to tariffs can vary depending on the trade agreements in place, as well as individual circumstances and trade disputes. Some of the key categories of goods that have historically been subject to tariffs or trade restrictions between the two countries include:\n\t1.\tAgricultural Products:\n\t•\tDairy products: Canada has a system of supply management in place for dairy, poultry, and eggs. As a result, certain U.S. agricultural products, particularly dairy, face higher tariffs when imported into Canada.\n\t•\tPoultry and eggs: Similar to dairy, tariffs are applied to U.S. poultry and eggs under Canada’s supply management system.\n\t•\tBeef and pork: Canada has historically imposed tariffs on U.S. beef and pork, although these are often adjusted or reduced under trade agreements like the USMCA (United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement).\n\t2.\tSteel and Aluminum:\n\t•\tCanada imposed tariffs on certain U.S. steel and aluminum products after the United States imposed tariffs on Canadian steel and aluminum in 2018 under Section 232 of the Trade Expansion Act of 1962. However, in 2019, both countries reached an agreement to remove some tariffs, although certain products may still be subject to tariffs or quotas.\n\t3.\tLumber:\n\t•\tSoftwood lumber is another contentious issue in U.S.-Canada trade. Canada has faced tariffs on its softwood lumber exports to the U.S. for many years, and there have been instances where Canada has applied retaliatory tariffs in response to U.S. actions.\n\t4.\tConsumer Goods and Electronics:\n\t•\tSome consumer goods, like electronics, furniture, and vehicles, may have tariffs or duties imposed depending on the category, though the majority of goods between the U.S. and Canada are traded tariff-free under the USMCA, which replaced NAFTA.\n\t5.\tAlcohol and Tobacco:\n\t•\tCanada applies tariffs and duties on alcohol and tobacco products imported from the U.S., but these are often subject to specific regulations and agreements.

Canadian here. I'm gonna buy whatever my wallet can afford. If it's American made and is 5 cents cheaper, I am buying it over the Canadian product. By the way Canadians, why aren't you super upset about the 20% Carbon Tax increase that's going to hit us April 1st. We have our own issues that we need to deal with here first. A corrupt Federal government, a negative GDP, more immigrants that we can handle and the list can go on.

It ain't good to start this issues,we must focus in bringing global peace, this wars are too much, the trade wars gonna hurt families, unemployment is gonna hike up.The two leaders need to sit down and solve their issues as allies.
|
| 2025-03-04 | 0 |
The dialog between Canada and the US need to come together for a global solution to peace, prosperity and security. Everything is about transactions with this guy. \nThese tarrifs are obviously temporary and Canada needs to speak to Trump on Global issues and yes they need our inports, their cost of food is outrageous. He knows he needs the \nUS more than we need Canada. He could have put more security on the borders a long time ago but refused.\nHe will be done soon and he should have been more willing to stop the drugs and ended his term on a better note with solutions. Canada cant wait for him to step down. There were many more solutions he could have offered instead of coming off as a jerk. \nBuy USA products! We have to stop this dependence on other countries! The green deal is done..we dont need their trees.
|
| 2025-03-04 | 0 |
He's totally contradictory, he says the border has been great yet he's spending a billion making it better. Clearly a major issue is fentanyl and how many Americans are affected. Anyhow hasn't he gone yet? Canada I know you want someone better than this guy.
|
| 2025-03-04 | 0 |
???? this is guy who created this issue ??? this guy needs to go off Canada
|
| 2025-03-04 | 0 |
Canada and USA are brothers, they need to solve this issue and avoid trade wars amongst each other.
|
| 2025-03-04 | 0 |
Dont reciprocate tariffs and then use that money as a handout! Tarrifs are bad for the people. Just find other countries that want to buy canadian product and resources. That would solve the whole issue
|
| 2025-03-04 | 0 |
Did you guys every think maybe the border guarding is an issue so that people can't escape once we start starving?
|
| 2025-03-04 | 0 |
Equating trade conflict with actual war issue is preposterous
|
| 2025-03-04 | 0 |
I don't know anything about Canadian politics and I know some people have issues with him but I fucking love this dude - hes a proper statesman and an excellent orator
|
| 2025-03-04 | 0 |
Doug Ford or Trudeau’s reciprocal actions against the U.S. are secondary to me as a Canadian. For days, they’ve been misleading the public with talk of imposing tariffs on U.S. goods or cutting power supply, but that’s not the real issue.
\n
\nWhat truly matters is how our government is actively mitigating the economic impact. Are they securing new markets? Have they repaired strained relations with China, which were damaged in 2021 over the arrest of Huawei executive Meng Wanzhou to appease the U.S.? Are we expanding oil exports to Japan, India, or China? Have we dispatched trade delegations worldwide to open new opportunities?
\n
\nWrong move. Canada doesn't have a functioning government. There is no mandate. The Prime Minister has resigned. Parliament is not in session. There is no reason to escalate. The focus should be on finding a solution the root cause of why the tariff was put in place over the border and fentanyl.
\n
\nIf not, then all these moves by Ford or Trudeau are meaningless—just political maneuvering to distract Canadians from the real problem.
|

Trudeau issues a logical response to an illogical action by the U.S. This American citizen stands with Canada 100%.
