In case anyone is wondering why so many Indians are trying to flee Canada here it is. Under Trudeau and the liberal government Canada was basically giving a free pass to anyone who wants to come to Canada through colleges and universities, if you get into a Canadian school, you can get a study permit (which also allows you to work for 20h a week). Additionally after the schooling you are given a guaranteed work permit for the same duration as the schooling (if you went to school 2 years you get a 2 year permit, 4 years you get a 4 year permit, ect.) A Canada and immigration agencies (for some reason) basically advertised this to India as a guaranteed way to get permanent residence in Canada. Canadians hated the massive flood of people coming into Canada (about a million a year at its peak, which for a smaller country like canada is equivalent to 10 million people coming into the USA every year). This is really unpopular with voters of course (in part because of the housing, food, and low skill work shortages it created), and the next Canadian election is this year. So the conservative government has vowed to massivly decrease the number of immigrants coming into Canada and the Liberal government knowing that this can be used against them in the next election is decreasing the amount of PR cards they are given (like a Canadian green card) as well as the people they are letting in in total. Now as the (mostly Indian) immigrants work permits expire and they will soon be kicked out of the country or no longer legally be allowed to work, they are fleeing to NYC to try to take advantage of the sanctuary city (something that does not exist in Canada).

Baaaaugh ha ha,,, please get away from our countries, but if they get cold, frost bitten or freeze....hush, be quiet and know you deserve that because you should not be sneaking Into into anybodies country. Use the energy you used to come to America with your hands out for free stuff, that ended. Why? Use that same energy in your own country and quit being lazy and do all you can to make it a better & nicer place for you & your family. Talk to your own government, just like you come here to our government begging with no pride or dignity. Well go back to your own country and talk or make appointments to talk to your home country, ask them what they can do for you and your family but also ask, what YOU can do to even make your community's a better place? mow lawns, plant a lawn,paint or work on houses,, help turn in criminals, if your williing to Chancee freezing to death, to come to America, don't do that because we the taxpayers are stuck disposing of dead bodies, but then again it might be cheaper then you being here alive, both ways, your not wanted or respected dead or alive . All crime committed by illegals should be deemed federal crimes so the government would have immediate access to them and the ability to house them in form, El Salvador or any other place the government desires and immediate deportations from the prisons. That would make sanctuary cities and states unable to protect illegals and or hide them.

Twenty years ago in Toronto, a one-bedroom apartment could be rented for around $700 a month. Today, a similar apartment costs between $2,500 and $3,000 per month. The government should regulate housing market investments to prevent the pursuit of profits at the expense of ordinary people. \nWith the large influx of immigrants of all kinds, there is increasing pressure on families and individuals to rent or buy housing. For instance, in one neighbourhood, a house has been fitted with multiple bunk beds per room, with the owner charging $500 to $700 per bed. One can only imagine how many people live in that house and what it looks like in the summer when everyone gathers in the backyard. \nIf the government fails to regulate immigration to align with the real needs of the economy and housing market, what’s next? May people be forced to rent a bed for just eight hours of sleep or resort to living in sheds or makeshift plastic tents on the streets? \nAnd when the economy takes a downturn, leaving people with no income, what will happen then?

These hotel owners who have been getting rich off housing migrants in they're places..... how much are they gonna end up spending repairing the rooms that migrants trashed? I can only assume that these people have been smoking cigarettes and having drunk parties just destroying the places but the hotel owners were making $$$$$$$$ off the government so they were letting it happen. Also, are these hotels going to have to pay the federal government any of the money they made off this?

Should we all get together and do one of those White House petition things where we ask that the government come down hard with big fines against companies who insist on employing illegal immigrants like they get fined like 50,000 per illegal, per day, that is discovered at the workplace kind of thing? I bet we would not have to do any deporting after something like that got enacted

Why is the government lowering standards and allowing too many students with fake credentials to enter the country? Does anyone know the real number? This is not a competitive market – these students work anywhere, anytime, for any salary, just to apply for PR. \nAfter a few years, they start sponsoring their entire village to come here. Is the government ready to absorb all these communities with all social implications? The second and third-tier schools that turn a blind eye to this issue, focusing only on enrollment and revenue, should be held accountable for the mess they have created and should take responsibility for accommodating all students with fake credentials and remove the pressure on the housing market. \nThe scholarship mafia creates chaos and others are left to fix the mess.

Housing crisis for 30 years at least. Native born Canadians living on the street. What's the solution? Bring in millions of immigrants, that'll work. These students get free healthcare cards bus passes ect which are paid for by the Canadian peoples tax $$$. When I a Canadian went to live in another country we had to pay private healthcare insurance, also were responsible for the cost of of education for our children at private institutions ?? We had no expectations of a foreign country helping us, we were charged double the $$ as an expat for housing etc the government and peoples of those found these actions acceptable??

In the past few years, the Democrats have spent billions throughout all of our federal agencies via misappropriated US taxpayer funds that were earmarked for American citizens or American infrastructure and development, then used these misappropriated, taxpayer funds to provide housing, food, education, medical care, and in most cases, luxury hotels. Just within the past two weeks FEMA spent over $500 million to provide luxury hotels for illegal immigrants yet a few weeks ago they were still claiming that they didn’t have enough money to help American citizens who suffered catastrophic loss during recent hurricanes and wildfires. The simple fact that Democrats got more upset that Elon Musk bought Twitter than they are, that their own political party in government for the past four years, has literally been holding them at gunpoint and forcing them to pay taxes so that they could steal it or launder it into their own campaigns and pockets is literally disturbing! WTF!!!! If any of those other federal agencies are ran or funded the way U.S. AID were, with the massive corruption, misappropriation, fraud and theft of taxpayer funds, then I hope DODGE goes through an completely audits, every single federal agency in the United States. No wonder the Democrats are freaking out the way they are, if the Republicans got caught this bad with their hand in the taxpayer cookie jar, then you know the Democrats would be screaming a different tune. Its corporate greed which has trickled down into all areas of life. Rents, property values etc etc. No government can fix it in a democracy because capitalism gives greed the platform. Record profits during covid says it all. Recessions give a partial temporary reboot and depressions are devastating and take a long time to recoup from. I live in a rural small town, retired, own my house and debt free . Low property tax and affordable housing and rents but in the Maritimes. Cities are the worst to survive in. I feel for all that are struggling but Canada is a great country and better than most but one must be willing to relocate to areas that they can afford to live in and still have steady work.

Lets keep i real. The desire that most immigrants have is homeostasis which is the familiar. All humans do this. Individually indians are usually smart and decent people. But in groups ( and this doesnt just include indians) you get this group thinking that is prejudice against anyone who isnt one of their own. Im fairly certain its a good demonstration of what a different culture would experience in their own country. Its that same inclusives mentality that keep the government corruption very small which empowers the citizens to make them successful and able to contribute more back into this system. The very nature of hoarding resources for ones family, same culture, etc are the same oppressive situations many of these people left their countries to seek better opportunities. But once given those opportunities and a chance to decide for themselves, a lot of these people use their liberties to create exclusion and hostility toward out groups. The indians do this in a very overt in your face way, the chinese are more polite about it but both have this way of looking out for their own and not being concerned with anyone else. As far as im conerned you should all be split up and dispersered to live in different provinces and cites. The U.S. government decided to deport illegal immigrants, though some may see this as a positive move.Apart from this, many other decisions have been horrific. For instance, in one neighbourhood, a house has been fitted with two bunk beds per room, with the owner charging $500 to $700 per bed. One can only imagine how many people live in that house and what it looks like in the summer when everyone gathers in the backyard. \nIf the government fails to regulate immigration to align with the real needs of the economy and housing market, what’s next? May people be forced to rent a bed for just eight hours of sleep or resort to living in sheds or makeshift plastic tents on the streets? \nAnd when the economy takes a downturn, leaving people with no income, what will happen then?

Why is the government lowering standards and allowing too many students with fake credentials to enter the country? Does anyone know the real number? This is not a competitive market – these students work anywhere, anytime, for any salary, just to apply for PR. \nAfter a few years, they start sponsoring their entire village to come here. Is the government ready to absorb all these communities with all social implications? The second and third-tier schools that turn a blind eye to this issue, focusing only on enrollment and revenue, should be held accountable for the mess they have created and should take responsibility for accommodating all students with fake credentials and remove the pressure on the housing market. \nThe scholarship mafia creates chaos and others are left to fix the mess.

I’m from Vancouver bc and it upsets me that this site keeps saying oh we need skilled workers not labourers I’m a skilled worker born and bred in bc 10 years experience painter can’t get a job unless I get 10$ less per hour than 2014 and carpentry same thing. The employers want only Indian and Mexican workers because there cheap. This Friday I’m going homeless with my dog because I can’t find work or affordable housing. Government saying we need skilled workers is a scam they want cheap workers no sense of safety or Canadian culture. How did the government let this happen we’re fucked also how did wages not go up when cost of living doubled I don’t care about being able to buy a 1.5 million dollar house but the locals should be able to get by

I have a lot of sympathy for these people, especially considering many gave up everything they had to pay smugglers to get this far while our government was effectively letting everyone in while offering additional incentives such as money and temporary housing. That said, if we don't have borders we don't have a country. Add on the massive welfare state that they will all become burdens on, either immediately or eventually, and it becomes clear to anyone with a little bit knowledge and common sense that the policies of the Biden administration that allowed things to get this bad, if not stopped immediately, would mean the end of the middle class, the further impoverishment of the lower class and massive benefits for the wealthiest among us. And when I say wealthy I'm not talking about the guy making 7 figures. I mean those who control billions, either directly or indirectly. You know, the same people who have the power to influence political parties to enact such policies and push narratives by the corporate media that state anyone who questions the policy is racist, greedy, heartless, or xenophobic.

As a father it is my job to feed and house my family, I was able to do this but there were a lot of times that I just did it and I had nothing else to give. If I was to feed all of the other kids in our neighborhood than my kids would go without eating. I am their father, my kids will be fed by me before your kids will be fed by me that is called responsibility. Why can't our government be this responsible?
