Trump also caused China to cut the flow of Rare Earth Minerals to the US which lead to the attempt to extort Ukraine of its natural resources. The US isn't launching a trade war against anyone. We are closing up shop and are getting ready to take care of our own. There is a massive difference. We cannot be expected to continue supporting other countries economies and defense obligations, when we have 2 generations of working class citizens unable to afford a home or have children. We have entire countries we could fill with the homeless and incarcerated, and veterans who see little to no positive treatment or respect within the job market. This may seem hypocritical when it comes to China, but that isn't a problem you can solve overnight. \n\nTo make it clear, Americans are going to suffer in the wake of this tariff decision, but that is the price we pay to force ourselves to change. We have made ourselves into a very weak country because of overreliance on other countries trade, and other countries overreliance on our intelligence, infrastructure, medical advancements, technological advancements, and defense capabilities. The american consumer and taxpayer front the bills for all of this, and they are suffering. This isn't a war on the rest of the world. It us telling everyone else that we can no longer be relied upon because we are weak. \n\nI didnt' even vote Trump the first two times he ran. But things have now gotten so bad that I was forced into voting for him this time. Why? Because he's a bull in a china shop. I expect him to tear every damn thing apart he can within our government. I want everything destroyed so it can be rebuilt by people who aren't complacent.

Trump is trying to end a war it’s not the same thing. We don’t need Canada if you haven’t been to America then you don’t know. We can make whatever you can make and better we can grow anything and more then you can just bc of regional weather. Canada is mad bc they make a lot of money off of us and trump is changing America and getting what it’s worth. America always pays more for imports and exports , why? and yet with out American people buying y’all’s stuff you your government will fall gotta keep last and for most gotta keep Canadian politicians payed as far as I know y’all haven’t had to worry about prices in y’all’s country. For years we have been paying more for stuff that should be made here or we pay less. Plain and simple we are getting what we are worth take it or leave. Trudeau is correct. I am ashamed of our current usa government and its treatment of its closest allies. We are no longer the leader of the free world. \nUnder trump the usa seems to be siding with putin and disrespecting, victimizing and bullying our closest and best allies. He refers to trudeau as governor, inferring he will be governor if canada were to join the usa. Such childishness and immaturity from the leader of our country. Our allies will realign with other countries. The usa has lost the free worlds trust. It will take the usa 20 plus years to regain respect.\nTrudeau is extremely well spoken, calm and states facts. How different from president trump.

This is just part of his plan as a coupe to take over our federal government, collapse our economy with hyper inflation, have his 4.5 trillion tax cuts for the wealthy while putting high tariffs on Americans. His goal is power and making billions while in office. He is trying to push a bill so he could be president a third term which is against our constitution.

Trump is attempting to offset his tax cuts by implementing a tax that isn't called a tax. All of the money from the tariffs goes to the government. Trump has mentioned when tariffs were common as supporting what he is doing, but he doesn't add that at that time, there wasn't an income tax, so tariffs were how the government supported itself. Trump, knowing that tariffs are income for the government, is lying to his base so they will accept the increased prices as a necessary evil to battle the bad countries of Mexico and Canada. It will look like his tax breaks aren't hurting as much as they are and price increases will be the fault of the other countries.\n\nTrump is a conniving grifter with no knowledge of how to run a country's economy or international trade. He is gaslighting the American public to cover his own shortcomings.\n\nAlso, if fentanyl is entering the US, why is it the fault of the other countries? It is the job of the US to stop anything on its side of the border. Canada and Mexico do what they can to catch the drugs while inside their respective countries. The tons of cocaine and guns that enter Canada and Mexico from the US are caught by their border services; they don't blame the US for the products getting past their own border agents, and the US takes no responsibility for it making it across the border. Why is it other countries' fault for drugs getting past the US's border agents, but not the fault of the US that guns and drugs are going in the other direction? That is why countries work together, not fight over whose fault it is and try to punish each other.

Trump has disappointed many many Americans with this decision and his opposition to Ukraine—he will regret this, Canada our closest friends and supporting 3 years of Putin sickening terrorist attacks of Ukrainian civilians! I voted for Trump, but he is only ONE branch of our government, a Democracy, not Authoritarian! Our legislators should override Trumps decision, it takes 2/3 approval by our House and Senate and it does not matter what Trump does, he cannot Veto! Trump has some twisted affinity for Putin and Dictators. When Trump does not get his way, he tantrums and acts out…a very cardinal trait of Trumps personality.
