My family moved 22 years ago from Mumbai to Toronto…while the struggles said on your channel are real, there are also perks which I feel like you didn’t get to experience. If people have good jobs, stable family life then DON’T move…culture shock is huge that people moving from India don’t consider, just by wearing and eating western food doesn’t make you western! \nThere are sacrifices to be expected which you don’t realized as your great grandparents or grandparents might have made when they started out! \nMoving to another country is never easy, unless you’re loaded with $$$. People in India are lazy as they have people working for them and don’t realize how difficult it is living outside of that lifestyle (not everyone in India can afford housekeepers, cleaners). Being independent and doing things on your own has its own positive (just need to figure it out). \n\nI have worked in healthcare for 16 years and let me tell you…social system works better as everyone gets the health service without being judged about $$. Healthcare is based on priority around the world but people don’t understand this as they feel like their problem should be attended first no matter what! \nNot all drugs are legal in Canada, marijuana is legal though with acceptable limits…you probably were misinformed about drugs! Teach your kids about right /wrong when it comes to drugs, smoking, alcohol and that’s the best you can do! I know people who live in India and do all that which you mentioned you were worried about for your kids. \n\nWhat you experienced was a classic case of culture shock and your expectations didn’t match the reality! Moving away from family, changing lifestyle and being responsible adult (doing things on your own rather than relying on workers) is difficult but doesn’t make the country bad that have you an opportunity to settle! Don’t take things for granted even while you live in India…appreciate the effort that goes into everything- keeping roads clean, people working hard, etc. \n\nBest advice I can give to those considering moving to any foreign country is: Keep an open mind, be ready to work hard and visit the country you want to move to before you make the grave decision of uprooting everything! Things usually turn around and get better after 5 years mark- focus on upgrading your education if you have a basic degree from India (even you know how competitive things are in India, so how can western world not be!)\n\nBeing vegetarian- things are tough when it comes to food but living in Toronto has never been an issue. Even people living in India avoid outside food due to hygiene reason which is not a problem in Canada as food inspection is pretty strict (having worked with ministry of health). \nCities like Toronto, Vancouver, Montreal, etc has variety of food options (including veg)…just have to be really open to trying other cultural food (Asian, Mediterranean, Italian,Mexican, etc). My parents are strict vegetarians and have never truly struggled when they are out. \n\nCost of living is definitely higher as the standard living is higher compared to India. Education (until grade 12) and healthcare are free (in reality, you pay tax for it), you get pension when you retire (based on your contributions and type of jobs you had)…you failed to navigate the system and I will say having family around is why you didn’t take opportunity to explore and learn on your own. \n\nPlease don’t come to Canada and make life difficult for other Indians who choose to willingly accept the culture and lifestyle here after going through this hardship- cost of living and housing has gone up dramatically in major cities because of immigration influx! If you’re serious about moving and putting up, only then move! Otherwise all the best for your future endeavours!

Think big, our children must also learn that religion is inside home not as country / one world, how long we keep first say he/she from which religion then next think of what to talk. In case of UAE a matured approach running and every one behave same when they stay @UAE, why not it gets replicated??

I am a Canadian citizen who moved to Bangkok, Thailand, 26 years ago as I had a professional job there. At that time, I was attracted by the Thai culture, the weather and the quality of life. I have been married to my beautiful Thai wife (S.E. Asian ladies are stunning?) for 23 years and we have two grown up children (one is studying in Canada!). With creditor nations or with debtor nations? I am so glad that I made the decision to leave Canada in 1997!

If you can't immigrate out of Canada consider learning to sail with the idea of buying a sailboat and sail around the world. I am Canadian and left in 2003 to learn Chinese. I now work in Asia and best decision I ever made. I now go back ever summer to see family. Canada is a-have-not economy compared to the rest of the world.

Also learning what we are bieng fed here, practices that are followed here in North America in food industry are nasty that are no where else in the whole world. E.g. what's in your tap water??

Until humans learn to be good without religion, we will keep abusing it for evil. This is why we all should find our own spirituality, regardless what preachers of religious institutions say to divide and further their own powergreedy agenda. Money and forcing others to do things against their will has no place in spiritual spaces. And until we learn to be inherently good without anyone tellin us to, we will not better this world. Who cares, you can come to Canada or leave Canada , do what u want, yeah houses are crazy expensive and yeah are prime minister sucks, but I wouldn’t wanna live anywhere else , Ive lived in Victoria BC , Edmonton Alberta, and St. John’s Newfoundland, allways felt safe, being able to do what I want regardless of race , gender , religion, makes Canada one of best counties in the world , we’re not perfect, but I’d say other counties could learn a thing, we’re known for being nice, we’re not known for being cheap, if u want cheap, go to Thailand

if your young learn marine engine mechanics & basic electronics systems & sailing then get on a sailboat & go those two skills will be in demand anywhere you go in the world same as IT will get you work make you money anywhere it can be done and done on the cheap find your dream & go live it, Canada in its current state is the killer of dreams

You wanted to come to the west to come to the west. How well did you plan your journey. I do not feel sorry for you. You made the choice to cone to this side of the world. You should have left your family in Nigeria if you are there to study. All the struggles you are talking about many other people are going through the same struggle. The first thing you should have done from Nigeria was learn about Canada, then look foe room and board that was close to your school. You should have left your family back home but that's the problem with you Nigeria. Apply for school visa then go the country bring your family trying to circumvent the immigration process. The comment about the U.S. education system should've been more clarified. The U.S. education as a whole, is behind the majority of developped countries. What you learn in grade 10, the majority of other countries have learned it in grade 8 or 9. The U.S. system doesn't seem to teach anything outside of the U.S. Here in Canada, our edcucation system will teach us a bit about the U.S., England, France, other European countries, Asia, South America, etc... We learn a great deal about our country, but we also learn about the rest of the world as well. Oh, and one last thing about our education system (and many other countries around the world) .....we don't ban books from school because there might be some references to gays, lesbians, LGBTQs or LGBTQIA2S+ in it.

Canada should concentrate more on its economy and citizens than world issues, so can be independent and not relied on other countries. DON'T FOLLOW THE AMERICAN'S WAY OR ITS WILL BE ANOTHER AMERICA'S PUPPETS.\nThat's why China is buying intellectual people with the salary hike. The smarter the citizens, the wealthier the country and its influence in the world. Money talks and broke ass listen, learn this from US.

With time first world countries are becoming like third world countries. It's nothing to do with the Govt or prime minister etc. I recommend everyone to read the Allies Briefings on the great waves of change. Uncontrolled Migrations will continue flooding western countries due to Climate Change and war, competition is getting tougher and living expenses skyrocketing everywhere, also with overpopulation. it's a time to rely on your true intelligence rather than your feelings and desires. And it's time to learn to contribute instead of waiting someone to do something for you. Food, rent, water, energy will continue to skyrocket, and so the era of stability is over. You can flock to places like Canada but don't expect it to be easy. And past success has nothing to do with a fast changing and unpredictable world.

All I can say after 12+ years in Germany ?? The social dynamics isn't any easier for us that grew up in the western world. Work place respect is seldom mutual. We learn to cope, and tolerate it. With due respect to the two participants- their opinion appears biased - there’s a lot to appreciate and learn living in this part of the world - lifestyle in India is definitely different with it’s own flavors but lifestyle in western countries has it’s own charm as well!

1. While McDonald's was originally created in the US there is a 2nd version and its 100% Canadian. After the u.s. McDonald's began franchising one of the brothers became so disgusted with the lack of regulation in the US on what is considered 'food' he moved to Canada and relaunched the chain. While the restaurant named remains the same and a handful of the main burgers the two companies are completely separate and have nothing to do with one another.\n\n2. Gov work, nurses, doctors, teachers, etc have a regulated minimum wage of 7.25 are you ....... kidding me??? 3. The US has no paid maternity leave u have the baby take 2 weeks off unpaid and back work 4. Server's make 2.13 + tips an hour ...... 5. The federal and state government recommend homes in the city have sewage plumbing BUT it is not required. There are literally houses in the southern states with the toilets flushing right into the front or backyard. 6. Perfectly fine to pay a man more than a woman in the US because a woman isnt a man. 7. And if a woman literally becomes a man by changing 'her' name + physically in appearance via surgery/hormones/whatever she still won't get paid the same as a man because she still not viewed as a man: no gender rights. 8. Where's the healthcare when the US has the highest taxes in the world??? 9. Classist. 10. No regulated education. Literally there is no rules on teaching the students these days are learning absolutely nothing. There's no such thing as regulating education in the US anymore 11. The country is over 33 trillion dollars in debt..... Education is better for all here. It is hard to describe but the culture is very different. We are not American and the rest of the world needs to learn that.

I am a born Canadian and never I would move in the US because I've seen a lot of Americans here in Canada and I don't like their behaviors. They behave disrespectfully like they don't care about your culture and your actual country, they act like they are the king of the world, owe everything and they literally just transfer their attitude in your country without trying to adapt, learn and understand the way we are. So to me it's all about their attitude. I also heard while I was traveling in UK that Amricans are the worst tourists for the exact same reasons. I know not all Americans are like that but sadly a good % are.

There are a lot of violence and killings and murders in western countries, more than before (outside of wars of course), but the US are certainly the unsafest, the most insecure and paranoid country of them all, and things have gotten worse in the last decade. That country is going backwards. It reminds me of the Muslim world in the Middle Ages, well advanced at all levels, at a time when the Occident spent their sweet time fighting each other to grab power, and also, after the numerous crusades and the Arabs were looking down at us, like minus habens. To such an extent that they decided to close off their world limits and have nothing to do with us. \na few centuries later, they reopened their countries borders, and they were in for a surprise: the rest of the world had evolved, modernised, and they were now lagging behind .\nThat’s what the current GOP and Trumpists want, but because they have no historical education , just a bunch of ignorants, they haven’t learned the valuable Arab lesson, although it is difficult nowadays to seal off the US borders.\nWho wants to live in a country moving backwards?

For so many reasons NO. In 75 years have never even seen or touched a gun. I’m repulsed by the infatuation so many Americans have for them. I hope to never step foot in the USA again. Hi Tyler....you might Google how many school shootings in US in 2023....and the year isn't over! Also, I checked with 3 different generations in my family (educated in 2 different provinces) and each one reports that in grade school geography we all learned about each state, capitals and it's location in USA....and the other countries in the world. America seriously needs to industrialize again but in a good healthy procedure. We need more construction built in urban dry areas across the country more towns if possible. The health of a country, or the health of an individual which are clearly linked, is dependent on our ability to see ourselves and each other, and make necessary changes to improve in the areas that we lack personally, and as communities in our beautiful country of Canada and other countries as well. Well, it’s a work in progress. I appreciate how you’ve inspired us to speak about things that aren’t necessarily spoken about. At least not where I live and have lived in Canada. What matters is sharing our own thoughts, feelings, and experiences because they aren’t debatable. \n\nWe are in violation of Multiple Human Rights violations against Inuit , Indigenous and Métis people by the United Nations. Most have no water to drink—not even boiled water and bottled water is available sometimes when it’s brought to reservations . Children don’t have the same access to books. So many thousands of bodies of children taken to residential schools from their parents arms and community for over 160 years yet the deep wounds aren’t given compassion by most people anymore and systemic abuse actively impacts them and therefore all of Us . We are all one whether we see people as other’ or not. We’re humans. \n They’re not seen in media unless it’s a bad story yet we’re only now teaching one mandatory class by non indigenous people. Solution: elders teach their grandchildren languages that weren’t erased by genocide and environmental /spiritual cultural practices and lifestyles before they’re gone by paying first people elders and streaming it into all Canadian classrooms so the children can see a future where they’re valued and all Canadian kids can get a full education and learn accurate history. Making canoes, baskets, sacred ceremonies, food growing (that they taught to pilgrims so they’d survive here), etc. No, I’m not indigenous. I’m an immigrant like all but the first people. They’ve an amazing culture that’s been all but lost . When we don’t see ourselves represented in any media, any careers, and start our lives in extended poverty based on our race, and all that was taken still today, it’s no wonder the teen suicide rate for indigenous youth is more than double / triple all non - indigenous youth. The numbers are growing. \nI live in Care due to my physical disabilities . An international nursing student worked for me providing personal care like showers, meal prep etc and over that year, she said she wouldn’t have moved here specifically because of a few things I’ve mentioned. She told me Canada was sold to people in her country of origin as a ‘multicultural’ safe haven without extreme racism still prevalent today and within our history. \n\nI’m ashamed of Canadian government promises for over 100 years that aren’t fulfilled. All children deserve healthy drinking Water and an education. Period. Especially, the ambassadors of this amazing land that they see as themselves without separation. That’s accurate. And here i am, in the middle of eastern europe, studied hard, saved up every penny i could, even learned to code , found a good coding job, full remote these days, im in spain now, the beach is in my view.. i managed to do all of those things in the past decade, and still i was rejected by the us embrassy every single year, that makes a total of 11 times so far, not a word as to why, just rejected.. tbh i no longer want to move to the states.. i started begging you guys at 18, im 29 now.. i could’ve invested my talents and work in the us, while paying taxes there, instead i work for a us company in a very cheap part of the world while paying a small fraction of taxes to my home country.. keep letting those guys in and avoid us.. soon enough you wont have anyone defending you from the issue’s because the people that make good money and pay high taxes are leaving to make space for the homeless shelters and to avoid being stolen from by the mob

This type of thinking cannot go on uninterrupted on a finite planet with finite resources. There needs to be flexibility in the system for the economy to expand and contract and for a contraction to be considered normal and not a problem or a failure. The contraction needs to be just as prosperous and productive as the expansion. For this type of thinking to work, there needs to be some new economic theories and models developed along with some new types of money and financial systems based on economic sustainability not on economic growth and money inflation. \n \nI am sure there will be some Nobel prizes awarded to the academics, economists, corporate CEO's and business leaders and of course politicians and government officials that can figure out how to make a sustainable economy work and how not to devalue the nation’s money in the process.\n \nThe way this can begin and improve peace and fairness at the same time is when our business and government leaders along with our brightest and smartest among us including the most wealthy among us can learn to be much more truthful, honest and trustworthy and can start to understand that the wellbeing of others benefits everyone and is the bases for morality.
