Trump has already negotiate a deal with El salvor.. regarding those countries that won’t take back their citizens… so shameful CNN that you cannot even deliver the full story ..do better !!!

Trump is setting the stage for China to replace the USA as a key export partner to these tariff threatened nations. All it would take is China to accept delivery of products impacted by US tariffs at the pre-tariff price. China wants better S American commerce and these tariff threats provide the opportunity for China to swoop in and save the day. If I lead China I would be phoning every nations leader personally guaranteeing to do just that before another threat came out of Trump. While it might cost China in the short run, seeing the world wide collapse of the USA's economic influence in favour of China would serve them well.\nFor the last century the USA has learned to played reasonably well with others, shedding off most of its protectionist policies in favour of cooperation and negotiation. This made it a strong economic nation that individuals wanted to become citizens of. Nations trusted the USA, but in just a few days under Trump that century long journey to world leadership has been fully undermined.\nThe most known Statue Of Liberty quote of “Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free.” was the old America, a much different time than today. The poem under Trump's policies should read “Take our tired, our poor, our huddled masses yearning to escape persecution”.

I wonder what the fat guy would think if any other country decided to land a plane full of supposedly criminal behavior in Washington without prior negotiations!

I love it when CNN *pretends* to be a news network. They waste time reporting on fantasy scenarios that *never* happen. There is not a tariff war with Colombia. Trump was merely negotiating with the Colombian president using hardball tactics. Why is that so difficult to understand? These talking heads aren't real journalists.

Fail to negotiate: prepare to fail. Coffee will cost 25% more now on the US.

People are too dense to realize these tarrifs are a negotiation tactic. The art of the deal, baby.

Mexico ought to secure its borders and prevent American troops from deporting individuals unlawfully. It would have been prudent for the administration to engage in negotiations with the Central American nations beforehand.
|
| 2025-01-26 | 0 |
Before you deported anyone back to their origin, you need to negotiate seriously to benefic both side. You cannot flex your muscles and expect they bound-down to you without seeing that they will get some kind of benefits. The deportations may end up costing the U S billions if all the Central and South America Continent refuse to accept the deportees. All flights end up go back to the U S with full migrants on the planes.

Did trump negotiate with Colombia about dumping immigrants into their country.

But CNN, I thought tariffs were bad. Didn't you know the threat of tariffs can be an effective negotiation tool? NO! It was orange man bad on repeat with you jerk offs.

This is what the Dems don't understand about tariffs -- they are a negotiating tool, Trump is using tariffs as a leverage. They're not meant to be permanent. They don't even have to go into effect at all. Just the threat of tariffs is often enough. Colombia can't survive without the US as a major trading partner. Tariffs would kill them. So, they quickly changed their tune. Which is why the Colombian President 'Gustavo Petro' has already folded to Trump and has reversed his decision to allow 2 military transport planes to land there after being threaten with tariffs, serious sanctions etc. Like him or not, Trump understands how to negotiate.
|

Making trade enemies is not a good idea, aggressive negotiations is not a good idea. Especially over a few thousand people, when the decision negatively affects millions of people. Strengthen methods preventing illegal entry. Don't make enemies of our trade partners over this. ??♂️

No country is going to negotiate with him!!! What an idiot!!! He is hurting Americans ?. So where are they going to do with all the people they're trying to deport if Mexico and Columbia are not allowing them to land???
|
| 2025-01-26 | 0 |
Good for Columbia, who never agreed to take the deportees in the first place. Trump has just learned that you cannot just dump people you don't want somewhere else without negotiation.
|
| 2025-01-26 | 0 |
They already worked and the Colombian president just reversed his decision. \n\nTake notes lefties, learn how to negotiate and to put your citizens first.

strength in negotiation's back on the menu libs. no more weakness. kamala wouldnt be able to negotiate her way out of a childs birthday party let alone deal with world leaders pushing back on her agenda.
|
| 2025-01-26 | 0 |
Columbia agrees to repatriate deported migrants, then, as planes are in route, they deny the flights. Columbia is making a grave mistake if they think this president is going to negotiate this issue. I predict Columbias' president will see things differently very soon.

Now that's how you handle that. Trump.... the GREAT negotiator.
|

All about using money as a way of negotiating.\nMakes him feel powerful. Countries will get disgusted with Trump's threats and they will do business elsewhere\nBet Russia would appreciate more business

Is this how trade wars starts? \nThreaten your friends ? Will only create enemies..\nWhat comes next ? \nA man who lacks empathy and negotiation skills..cause more hate, chaos, and is a danger to the world..\nPrepare and start storaging food, water, emergency supplies..just in case..\nTHE END? ???

Tariffs are used for negotiations, to try to get a better deal. The Pres. of Columbia will let the planes land. He can't defy America.

A person with a brain would have negotiated with Columbia, and Trump calls himself “The Negotiator”. Proof Trump doesn’t have a brain.
|

The world needs to stand up to Trump. They should stop all Trade to the USA. Keep their stock and reconstruct a world economic forum. If Trump doesn’t want to negotiate and honour trade agreements that he committed too, no one should commit to doing business. Just look to his history, he is a fraud and a bully. He used MAGA to get to where he is and now they are left with scrambled eggs and Bird Flu. Oh yeah, no public notice required - why inform the public of infectious and safety related health and food issues. Eating USA products is equivalent to Russian Roulette.

A lot of Indians treat white people really badly. Especially when there is money involved. It’s now extremely common that people here hate dealing with Indians as customers of their business and will go as far as avoid it altogether. They will often relentlessly try to negotiate services, lie and say anything to get get their way, pester businesses until they cave to their demands and even leave bad reviews which they say they will change if you give them a good deal. None of this is the way things are done in Canada and that needs to be respected. Something kind of funny, I’ve heard many people say that Indians will often say they will refer tons of friends and family to a business if you give them an unreasonable discount (which they never do once they’ve gotten what they want), but what they don’t realize is that referring a bunch more Indians to them is the last thing that business wants. And really, some of the discounts they want on things are just ridiculous. When I was selling my car a few years ago, I had it listed for $55,000 and I got bombarded by Indians offering $20,000-$25,000 and every lie under the sun of why that’s all it was worth, other people are saying yes to offers like that for the same car, dealerships are selling them for that much and so on. Like come on. And I guess while I’m at it, I hate to say but it’s a common thing here to walk into a gas station and the smell of body odour just hits you like a brick. I’ve stopped going to 3 different stations because of it. I’m sure there’s some pungent white people out there but damn. This is on a whole other level. It literally fills the entire building.

India urgently needs to take responsibility for its overpopulation and hygiene issues, which are having global consequences. With over 1.4 billion people, the unchecked birth rate is straining resources, fueling mass migration, and overwhelming developed countries that are increasingly unwilling to accommodate more immigrants. It’s time for strict population control policies, such as mandatory family planning education, widespread access to contraception, and incentives for smaller families.\n\nAt the same time, India must confront its hygiene crisis. Poor sanitation and personal hygiene have become significant points of complaint in host countries. A nationwide overhaul of sanitation infrastructure, strict hygiene standards, and aggressive public awareness campaigns are non-negotiable. These measures are not just about improving conditions at home but also about respecting the global community India interacts with.\n\nIndia can no longer afford to delay action. Population control and improved hygiene are critical for its progress and for easing the strain it places on the world.

Besides the problems at the border President Trump also wants to get a better trade deal that is why he is using the 25 % tariff to negotiate better security and trade deal. Also under President Trump and fuel prices will come down quite a bit so transportation costs will be cheaper so even if he adds a 25 % tariff it will not be as bad as you think it will be

The Bible says that Palestinians must be compensated for temporary hardship. Palestinians must be offered many options to choose from either money or land of equal or greater value. Abraham, a man that Jews and Arabs are descendants of, was the man of peace, negotiations and bargains. That’s how he purchased the land. The book of Genesis explains how it was done. The Allah of Jews won’t be possible without making sure Palestinians are treated above requirements of the International Law. During days of Abraham there was no International Law however the man negotiated the purchase of the land within International Law. The whole book of one of prophets dedicated to the Aliyah. Can’t build happiness on Palestinian tears.

I think if he makes Canada and Mexico states this can stimulate the economy even more, this equals to more people traveling and spending money in USA. Trump is a good negotiator and good businessman, we need someone like that in the world, and Claudia is also a good negotiator as well, she can get paid too... We need some gold to build the Temple of God and USA has plenty of Gold, trading would bring this about... And he can negociate with other countries and of course, Mexico gov't and his Gov't would get paid too, for his work and services that sounds fair, and our people would get what they desire as well,as long as it is a good desire stipulated in psalm 37 and everyone involved wins...

She was elected through cartel influence. It was extremely obvious when 36 candidates were mysteriously murdererd during the elections. Don't know why anyone would negotiate with her. Mexico will do what we say or suffer the tariffs. There is no debate or arguing to be done ?♂

Attacking your neighbor before trying to work things out will not work for neither of them. She is new in power, why not to use that to negotiate and change the policies of the both past administrations. Bullying our neighbors will not work.

Mexico isn't your backyard-it's your trade partner.\nThis relationship isn't charity; it's mutually beneficial. Blaming Mexico for substance use issues ignores your responsibility as the largest demand drivers. Treat Mexico like a partner, not an incompetent employee, and take responsibility for your share of the problem. Blaming Mexico for the fentanyl issue is like an alcoholic blaming the bottle shop, even junior is an coke addict Claudia Sheinbaum has more balls than Donald Trump. It's about time someone stood up to n Trump and promised him a dose of his own medicine. Well done Mexico. Trump claims to be a gifted negotiator, but all he is is a self-glorifying bully. Claudia Sheinbaum has more balls than\nDonald\nTrump. But it is not Mexico and Canada who has a drug problem. It is America:) Americans don't realize how much they have advanced and grown, and know nothing of their marvelous culture. My president is an award winning environmental scientist with MULTIPLE degrees. We got it right!\nViva Mexico ??

A little more complicated when it comes to Mexico & Canada, did you say? Maybe because djt was one of the negotiators for the US when NAFTA ended, & was replaced by the new Free Trade agreement for we three N.Amer countries. He signed it. So what now? He's torn it up? Flushed it down the toilet? I'll say it's a little more complicated, and potentially a LOT more so.

the problem is that leaders prefer to deal with larger business owners\nsince that is a lot easier to talk to a single individual person\n\nso what that means is big business can deal with those changes\nhowever all of the other small medium sme landscape suffers a lot more\n\nfor a strong and healthy economy you need a broad variety of business\nacross diverse sectors types but also different sizes for different purpose\n\nsmaller businesses creates new wealth generation new opportunities\nit is the mechanism of entrepreneurship and narrow the wealth gap rich vs poor\n\nsmaller business also is the place where innovation occurs new products\nalso entire new markets and opportunities to improve the society local cities\n\nbig business doesnt like threats coming up from smaller companies\nso there is an inherent tensions here that is self destructive to usa economy\n\nneed protect sme business against fallout from tariffs below certain size\nthat then is complex across different sectors materials products to waive that\n\nthe implications was to focus only on the top n number of sectors by revenue\nfor example raw materials metals, building materials affects both large + small\n\nso that is why the dynamic tariffs idea as a tool for negotiating other nations\nwhich is also hideously complex, so its all a lot of unnecessary beuraucracy added\n\nwhich is then against the drive to simplify government those initiatives conflicts\ndont make all your sme business rising stars pay for that --> future big business\n\nthey will remember your policies and become another anti-government all again\nthat is bad ways

People have short memories. \nHe used the same exact threat he’s using now to bring Mexico and Canada to the negotiating table during his first term. Which is what lead to nafta being renegotiated into something more beneficial to the US. \n\nAsk yourselves. Why didn’t Biden reverse Trump era tariffs?

As a Canadian all I can say is that it is time to find better partners then a quixotic USA. Here is a great option for Canada and Mexico: we have 2 months to negotiate with China and set up back-end rebates to incentivize Canadian companies to export places other than the USA. Now we can have a trade war and starve the USA of necessary products because we found other markets.

Talking head opinions...\n\nFacts:\nMexico was the United States’ top goods trading partner in 2023 with total two-way goods trade at $807 billion, surpassing China. In comparison, U.S. goods trade with Canada totaled $782 billion, while trade with China totaled $576 billion. U.S. exports supported an estimated 1.1 million jobs in 2019.\n\nMexico vehicle manufacturing impact: approximately 3.7 million vehicles with 79% of production exported to the United States and 109,000 car manufacturing employees in Mexico. Automotive and auto parts manufacturing in Mexico is clustered around Saltillo, Coahuila; the state of Puebla, the state Guanajuato; the state of Aguascalientes; and the state of San Luis Potosí.\n\nOver 5 years the exports of Mexico to United States have increased at an annualized rate of 5.49%, from $323B in 2017 to $421B in 2022. Mostly cars, delivery trucks and computers.\n\nOver 5 years the exports of United States to Mexico have increased at an annualized rate of 5.31%, from $227B in 2017 to $294B in 2022. Mostly refined petro, gas, and car parts.\n\nThere is room to negotiate.

I'm old. You know how I know that for sure? I remember Laugh-in and I keep hearing Sock-It-To-Me, Sock-It-To-Me, Sock-It-To-Me. Tariff's arent' going to strengthen our trade negotiations with China. Quite the opposite. They'll just cut a better import deal with other countries. And it's not COUNTRIES that are ripping us off - it's CORPORATIONS. Trump wants you to believe it is countries so he can give tax cuts to corporations and dumb people won't know how badly that is screwing us over. It's like 'Over here is the REAL evil', not over there! Trust me! I'm your protector!!'
