Its corporate greed which has trickled down into all areas of life. Rents, property values etc etc. No government can fix it in a democracy because capitalism gives greed the platform. Record profits during covid says it all. Recessions give a partial temporary reboot and depressions are devastating and take a long time to recoup from. I live in a rural small town, retired, own my house and debt free . Low property tax and affordable housing and rents but in the Maritimes. Cities are the worst to survive in. I feel for all that are struggling but Canada is a great country and better than most but one must be willing to relocate to areas that they can afford to live in and still have steady work.

Lets keep i real. The desire that most immigrants have is homeostasis which is the familiar. All humans do this. Individually indians are usually smart and decent people. Its that same inclusives mentality that keep the government corruption very small which empowers the citizens to make them successful and able to contribute more back into this system. The very nature of hoarding resources for ones family, same culture, etc are the same oppressive situations many of these people left their countries to seek better opportunities. But once given those opportunities and a chance to decide for themselves, a lot of these people use their liberties to create exclusion and hostility toward out groups. The indians do this in a very overt in your face way, the chinese are more polite about it but both have this way of looking out for their own and not being concerned with anyone else. As far as im conerned you should all be split up and dispersered to live in different provinces and cites. Most Venezuela’s aren’t coming to work are coming because of the benefits, I’ve seen most people that are coming from communists countries aren’t coming to work and can’t handle working longer hours for them 8-10 hours say is not human, I know because I used to work in area where these people were calling after 3 days of arriving asking where is my money? why is not my card? I was oh mine! I’m the one working and I’ve never apply for any government assistance as I remember my parents only applied once for 6 months because my dad was sick and my mom pregnant but once my dad got better went back to work 2 jobs and my mom started working. Until these day we haven’t needed any gov. assistance because we all work and even now I decided to take my children and my husband only he works we don’t receive any government assistance not even healthcare assistance because we work so we don’t depend from no one but these people are government dependable not working people. The US government needs to check every single individual who is efficient or not.

I am a UK citizen. I find it strange that Indian nationals claim to be 'proud' of their country, yet they all want to move elsewhere (UK, US, Canada, Australia etc). If their country is so great, then why do they want to keep going to other countries? And then there's the bureaucracy for those who want to visit destinations such as India. If India wants to impose endless paperwork and procedures to other countries, then it should expect the same. India was the one that started the childish tit-for-tat behaviour when the UK and Canada were restricting visa applications during the pandemic, so therefore India banned e-visa applications from Canadians and UK citizens. If India wants to behave like this, then why can't other nations? The UK is full of Indians who come here and don't want to integrate to our way of life etc, hence it's better for everyone if they just stayed in India.

Its like applying for a job. You got rejected because someone with more potential, better credentials, or waited longer got in. as an NRI who lived in US, UK, and Canada, I can tell you that the so called developed nations are over hyped. Yes, there are so many things that are better in these countries compared to india, but all these countries lack one thing. Respect towards fellow human beings. I lived in several states in India, we have problems, but nothing compared to these countries. Indians don't belong outside of india. Don't go to any country out side of iindia...you are not welcome. I came back to india and I am living peacefully.

Plain and simple, Indians brainwashed about holding citizenships abroad whereas the reality of those of us who are with foreign visas, realize it is just hype. We Indians are succors. Best advice is never ever believe touts, media or friends that it is greener in the West. Go on a short work contract not take a loan or sell up and leave. One of the family memvers may end up with a part time or casual or a fixed contract job. These Western countries are unlike job visas to the Gulf so be very careful before making a move in hope of a better life.

Yes I was, after Trump got elected no. Disabled human rights are horrible here and as compensation for lawsuits can be capped in cases that is unlikely to change. I should state the government had to pay me $25,000 dollars for violating my rights (this cost me $35,000+ in legal fees!) so I know of what I speak. It was the same when I moved provinces. In terms of mobility my fate was better in the 4 third world countries I visited after my stroke, there are no busses in loads of places here as we can’t “afford” them. Also I should state the government tried to make me site an NDA that would not allow me to state their behaviour, this should be illegal where government money is concerned! On to health care…. Why do disabled people struggle to get a family doctor when they move provinces? Also why did the mother of a Ukrainian disabled kid have to go back to a country that had been invaded to get help for her child that was having convulsions? She got no help here and her child was in our system by then and her husband has been paying taxes since I got him a job here 3 day a after landing. Yes there are a lot of good Canadians but this situation has become much worse and Canadians are masters at ignoring things. There is a Ukrainian flag flying from my cabin not a Canadian one. We are NOT the 51st state and will never be but I’ve been made to feel betrayed

I came to Saskatchewan Canada as an international student in fall 2023. I did a care assistant program and was attracted to coming to Canada because I kept hearing that there is a labour shortage in healthcare in Canada. However I feel like everything just started going to sh*t in 2024 when I was finishing up my program ?.\n\n One of the things I'd like to highlight about the small towns is that they can be very biased in their hiring practices. Some of us as (black) students had a hard time getting jobs in healthcare in the town because jobs were given based on family and friend linkages (so mostly white or Filipino people got hired). Also there was a severe housing shortage. So even though locals (from my perception) wanted us to stay and work in healthcare (because they are short staffed), realistically there was no where to stay. Canada can't say it wants people in more rural areas and not improve housing in those areas as well. I have honestly been rather disappointed with Canada because I expected better planning from a developed country.
