Grew up in a traditional sikh family in punjab with the generic beliefs about pakistan being the rival country and punjab's hate towards the incidents of 1984 &1947. Moved to canada when i was 12 years old. Now i hav friends from muslim community, hindi community, afganistan, nigeria, Chinese, japanese and some others as well. We r so close to each other and just enjoy each other's values. We eat what we want and be considerate towards each other's values. I wish something like that could exist in india too. Just geeting along but there is too much division. Unfortunately, seems like its only gonna get worse. Much love to every community in india as well as pakistan. I am sikh and i love all my hindu brothers. My village has mata mandir, shiv mandir, hanuman ji mandir, bhairav nath mandir, peer dargah and gurdwara. We attend all the occasions in every mandir too. Born and raised Cdn and every point you raise is valid IMO and experience. I love my country however, it is hard to get ahead, we work too much, and cost of living is so expensive. The reason why Canada is wonderful for those who stay is A) Charter of Rights and Freedoms - we are protected by laws and citizens enjoy legal, justice, policing and gvmt services that help protect quality of life. B) it is a safe country primarily and not easy to reach for insurgents, terrorist attacks and political anarchy etc. C) We have so much land and space for people to decide where they want to live - density is not high so you can have space. D) it is a beautiful country with awe inspiring nature. E) we do have one of the best immigrant populations and that is our crown. Being diverse is a blessing so if you are atheist, Christian, Muslim etc doesn't matter - you can enjoy freedom to worship as you wish. And F) Healthcare could improve but, the quality of care is world class and speaking as a breast cancer survivor who's treatment ran $120k (diagnostics, chemo, surgery, radiation, med professionals, rehab and drug therapies) we have access to that care whereas in other countries you may not.
