Other wages increase only if the employer decides to do so. How often do they do this out of kindness to their employees? That's a good question. \n \nYour work experience in other countries does not count. They want people with Canadian experience, so it is better to think you will start with a 35,000 salary per year. A house cost between 450,000 to 2,500,000. When are you going to save to pay for a house? The cheapest ones can be 200 years old. A 100 m2 apartment, new, not very elegant but nice, can cost more than 2 million dollars in downtown Halifax. Anyone noticed all stores no Canadian workers, or that Tim Hortons or the gas stations your local mall all new Canadiens working,,1 grocery store, a friend of mine from the 80s,,I asked him there's no new Canadiens work here,,yah me he said,,no I mean them Punjabi people,,the boss is very strict on who gets hired I'm the only native here, did see around town how many of them working in town yah every where,,even that new Popeyes people are talking now in town,,they had a ride program in town looking for drivers who are driving drunk,,of course I got pulled over by a Punjabi cop,,waves me by,,ok drove too food basics paying for my stuff a Punjabi lady asks every thing ok,,,what I said I can't understand your English bye I said security guy a Punjabi guy sir can I see your bag,,,what I said I don't understand your English now I got people looking I just walked away,,the guy says have a nice day ?,,next day same store same Punjabi guy security,,,ok I asked him what did you want from me ,,,he looks at me saying shop lifting,,? no I said you asked me something but couldn't understand your English,,again people are watching us chat,,now he says hey ron have a nice day ?,,next stop Walmart ???,,now that's another story ??

Yes madam, Canada is not suitable anymore for indian immigrants. Even canadians don't want to live there anymore. The government is not good & only work is tim hortons and uber

International students are good for Canada in the long-term national benefit. There's one problem. many of these students are not genuine students but a gateway for them coming to work instead of schooling. I know many Indians came in, instead of studying, working for Uber delivery, Tim Horton etc.

My question is: why is it that 98.5% of international students come from one country? I remember when I was in high school working at McDonald’s etc now Walmart, Petro Canada, Tim Horton’s, McDonald’s are only hiring international students and only from one country too ?

Canadians are leaving and going south east Asia to survive their retirement life.. meanwhile professional in Philippines willing to trade engr/doctor to work in Tim Hortons ?

Dear Honorable Minister, \nI will request our Canadian immigration and Canadian border security to stop issuing visas and bringing more Indian students and work permit holder. We don't have more spaces and jobs to accommodates.. They are big burden to local governments. These students in one room 4 or 5 peoples. Rent and sleep. each pay $500 or $600 wow.............. \n One of my job collage born here and her family was born here, she was crying and complaining about her kids can not get jobs at Wendy's of Tim Hortons bcuz all local Canadian students jobs are taken over by Indian students. what a Shameful and she was so upset. \nShe said Canadian citizens need to get priority to get local gas stations or fast food restaurants or super stores jobs, IT related jobs instead of international student. \ninternational students after work drive fast and don't follow traffic rules. \nImmigration Canada needs to check completer back ground ,every single Indian student or work permit visa holders. Any time someone mentions bringing in immigrants to fill the job gap while I am watching the company I work for send jobs to India, I tend to be a bit skeptical...\nThere could come a day where a hard working professional might have to work at Tim Hortons and not be able to afford to eat there...

I have 3 degrees from university and colleges and i owe 130k in loans.. I am 28 and cannot find a job. I live in my parents basement now and have no girlfriend. I even applied to work at Tim Horton's and Mc donalds but they will not hire me cause i am white male and to hire me would contravene Canada's employment equity act! But on the bright side of things i did get Free vaccines every 87 days thanx to our great prime minister Trudeau!

The premise of immigrants coming to fill labor shortages/shrinking population and some come with children...that even sets them further behind with our high cost of living. The reason there is a low birth rate is because of cost of living so how is the average immigrant supposed to survive better working at Tim Hortons with three children any better than the people already born here??????????????? Is it because people from India these people live with 50 people in a two bedroom apartment and pool their incomes???

The only immigrants I see are working at Tim Hortons and fast food restaurants. And taking up space in our colleges.

Canada select immigrants with university degrees, engineers, etc... to have them work at Tim Hortons. When you arrive in Canada with years of valuable experience, Canadian employers swiftly throw all that value in the garbage bin. and they are surprised there is a shortage of workforce. That's the result for looking at the rest of the world with arrogance.

This liberal government is so out of touch its rediculous. Our immigration minister is obviously just trying to collect a paycheck as bringing in over a million immigrants from now til 2026 is not the answer. Right now, our jobs and housing is in big trouble where even Canadians born here are having a hard time. They are trying to implement programs that just won't work. Try asking the average Canadian for common sense answers. Bringing in immigrants to build homes and work at Tim Hortons and McDonald's isnt the answer. Immigration numbers are destroying this country and this country literally isn't Canada anymore. PS. If you fly any other flag thats not Canadian in protest, go home because that crap is not acceptable. Take that crap back to your birth country.

There's so many negatives to Canada's system and its obvious Canada's insane increase in immigration is only lowering wages, increasing housing prices, importing ethnic tensions and propping up minimum wage jobs. Canada's TFW and foreign student programs don't follow our scoring system. And they're complete scams. Indians come here to study at DeVry college at a strip mall while working full time at Tim Hortons living 6 people to an apartment and they eventually get permanent residency. Canada has a rapidly declining quality of living.

One thing I would like to note is that Canada is not welcoming in only highly skilled workers. If you can work at a Tim Horton's you qualify. This has lead to a flood of new workers who HAVE to have a job in order to stay at a time where the existing labour pool is refusing work due to pay lagging far behind inflation for two decades. Those salaries discrepancies you listed are not exclusive to the tech sector, they are economy wide. Often you'll here talk of a labour shortage in Canada, but ask for the number of applicants to jobs and you quickly find out the reason no one accepted is because the full-time job offered requires a part-time job to barely make ends meet. \n\nAnother factor is that housing happens to be the bread and butter of ~40% of our MP's. Hell our Minister of Housing himself owns properties that have appreciated massively due to the lack of supply and high demand. He then goes on national TV and says high immigration will solve the housing crisis despite Canada already having over 4% of our entire labour force already in the construction industries (America is a little over 3%) and the men and women who build our houses being unable to afford the homes they build ($22.07/hr CAD average or ~$16.66 USD. compared to $22.29/hr USD). 14% of our national GDP is housing. 14% of our entire economy is just money changing hands internally with nothing of value made. \n\nThen you have the combo of landlords benefiting from the immigration programs who try and evict the tenants on their properties to replace them with immigrant labour. They then take the cost of rent right out of their salaries. The workers can't quit their jobs because if they don't have a job they are at risk of being deported and also loosing their homes so they end up shacking 8 to an apartment to try and make ends meet. This becomes the standard the rest of the economy has to meet. \n\nIt is a rare sight to see someone who is anti-immigrant in Canada, but the majority of people here understand that immigration is a problem the way it is currently run. You have people who come here hoping for a new life being forced to sleep outside under bridges because while they may have a job they don't have a home and the shelters are already 200% capacity. Tent cities are the norm in any major urban centre now. There are crack dens in Toronto that are the same price as Castles in the UK. And this problem is only going to get worse.

The funny thing is you didn’t even touch on how in Canada you can get permanent residency in just 3 years by going to a college here and working at a Tim Hortons. I really wish that was an exaggeration.

Most of the jobs that canadian kids use to do have been taken over from migrants..migrants work hard at the jobs to have a better life..but pls say welcome to Tim hortons and pls make my double double properly

you wont get hired for a tim hortons job or an iga bagger with a doctors resume. They just wont hire you when they have 10 teenagers out of high school waiting to do it.\nGo back to school is not that much of a better idea as its expensive. Canada is very immigrant friendly in terms of accepting immigrant to come yes but why ? well because immigration is a big business for this country who has not much technology export and in the same time is second biggest country in the world with population less then California alone . I didn't sign up for this. Rushing in 25k more refugees is crazy. I am concerned about the security issues, and the fact the refugees will drain even more tax dollars away from our already fragile economy. Just thinking out loud, what benefit do these refugees have coming to Canada, none. They will live a life of welfare and eventual poverty. Some very few may prosper, and others will turn to crime. I can't see 25k refugees coming to the GTA to work on the railways and build subways or doing construction work. I can't see the refugee women working at anything more than Tim Hortons, if they are even allowed to do so, based on their religion. I have seen it, I live it everyday. Someone, please prove me wrong?
