Some of us in America are appalled at this behavior, I am so sorry! Trump and his administration are an embarrassment to us as well!

These tariffs are embarrassing and unacceptable. So disgraceful. So shameful of Donald Trump and the Republican party.

Then afterwards one goes and plays golf and the other one goes skiing talk about wasteful gov spending and you people are worried about the money we give to our allies just think about how much we spend on security for Trump and his family and his cabinet at the end of the year it will astonishing. It’s not like we will see any of this money he supposedly is making from these deals only he will see it and his rich friends !!

As an American, I do not at all blame Canada’s response to trump’s irresponsible and embarrassing behavior. I know this will affect me, but I side with Canada completely. I just hope these next 4 years pass quickly and we can get a more reasonable administration into power.

Everything Trump has been doing makes perfect sense when you view it through the lens of Russian influence. As a German - apart from the content which is no less than justified - just technically comparing Trudeau´s speech with Donald Trump´s verbal outcome - what an incredible difference in niveau & tone. Isn't it almost tragic how little skill it took to run the U.S and even worse, how low the common-sense-threshold must be for a half of the American people to make this happen a second time. As an American living abroad, it’s embarrassing to see my home country picking unnecessary fights with one of its closest allies. My family back home is already dealing with rising costs, and this kind of reckless economic policy only makes things worse. Tariffs aren’t paid by foreign countries; they’re paid by American consumers. Trump bragging about ‘punishing’ Canada is like punching your best friend in the face and then wondering why your hand hurts. Short-sighted, unnecessary, and ultimately self-destructive.
