i am an older white woman living in an apartment complex for people who have lost everything. i lost my entire $750k retirement. i have lived here for 10 years. the population is \n15% white women over 50 \n10% black women over 50, \n5% white men under 50 \n2% white women under 50\n3% black women under 50 \n65% black men under 50\ni have been sick so i havent been out of my apartment. but i am concerned. i dont know many people. the ones i know accept and know me as i am know to not be concerned \nbut i am afraid when i leave here, people are going to look for my prejudice based on current events\nthat test sounds like it will make you sound prejudiced. thats a loaded question\nDo you believe black as can have it as good as whites if they try harder\nhow do you answer that without sounding bad\nyes i believe that is true - definitely a bad answer\nno i dont think thats true sounds like i dont think blacks can have it as good. \ni worked for BDMi in Houston\nfor 4 yearsa not one bl;ack was hired because the original partner, retired who owned the building would not permit it.\nit was blatant\nafter 4 years i had it, i reported it to the eeoc people, they said they couldnt do anything. nothing happened except i was 'let go'c

I’m black and I live in America, and I was wondering if there’s police brutality and racism towards blacks in Canada? The thought of being targeted because of my race terrifies me, and I don’t want to be around this. I am a powerful woman raised by my grandparents and my parents in an amazing family. I identify myself as a woman of colour, amazing colour, it embraces me and reflects back my beauty for all around me to see. We were given every opportunity to explore the world where we lived and had passion for reading books, I was encouraged to explore so much of the world and ideologies. Issues of racism existed around me and this was unquestionable, but we had a safe place in a family with committed parents to develop and make our mark on the world. How refreshing to explore the world from a safe place and our parents especially my father encouraged us to mix with people of all cultures, because he firmly believed and I also believe there is only one race, the human race. We look different on the outside but let’s enjoy the fact that God made of one flesh all people. So, impressed with my amazing grandparents and parents... I love myself and I love the world that we live in, even though everyone is not perfect, we are are amazing. I was born in Jamaica, raised in England, UK, and now live in Canada.

How are you supposed to work for a living with that on your head? fact is ALL other people must work to take care of these woman.

As an asian woman living in Europe for 14 years I faced a decent number of racism, which was a shocker to me coming from the country where we accept any race and I was never treated any different. At my university the very first time I faced racism was from my PROFESSOR! The only thing I felt was sorry for him and his shallow life. Racism prevents you from learning so much more in this world, you automatically limit yourself with your assumptions. So, to all the racists, I feel sorry for you and your sad life of hater and anger.

Those who cover their faces they have no place in this country they should respect the people of this country by doing that they have no respect of this country which give them sanctuary to make their lives kick them out not Muslims The woman's they were this ungly facade

I live in a supposedly muslim country but if you wear hijab or god forbids niqab you are discriminated against. I was literally told that I shouldn't bother applying for a job in a certain company if I'm wearing a hijab. so I am a woman who isn't white and who is wearing hijab. finding a job in my field of work turned out to be such a hassle.

I think that even if you are Canadian or American or British or whatever and you convert or you become Muslim you should be deported to a Muslim country and go live there your citizenship should be stripped from you and you should be deported to whatever Middle Eastern country you so choose but it won't be in western civilization if your woman you want to wear hijab you go do it in it Middle Eastern country not here when everybody sick it's Fed Up and everybody stands up against you this will be a very short-lived for all you Muslim will go bye-bye

That woman is so extra. She is not in danger. And if Muslims feel some type of way about the west it’s because they are alienated by the way they are treated by racists and governments and law enforcement agencies in the west and are upset about the role western governments play in meddling to create instability and oppression in Muslim majority countries. That doesn’t mean we don’t also love and appreciate the lives and opportunities we have in the west. But our freedoms are not the same as white westerners. Also, I firmly believe it’s mostly a government issue. Most people, including white westerners are good people. We all, everyone of every race and religion get caught up in government propaganda and agendas that literally every government in the world is guilty of both east and west. No government is perfect. I was completely surprised to hear that this happens, continues to happen, especially in Canada. America is a country built on the backs of slaves and racism is rampant. This behavior is disgusting and to see a middle-age Black woman is not even safe is overwhelming. As I reach middle-age I continue to feel the same fears I did as a young woman. I live in America so I face racism and discrimination daily. I thought Canada was different, but I am glad to see Canada is attempting to fix the problem. America take notes.

I agree with this law. For safety reasons. I have a few muslim women friends including two females family members that are muslim and they dont cover their faces. They also agree with this law. we all have the right to see the face of whom is around us. I also know one woman that is not muslim but dresses and covers her face like one. Why she does that I and my neighbours dont know why. She does not talk to anyone about it and only dresses that way when she goes out of the neighbourhood. What are her intentions to do such thing? She is portuguese does not speak arabic only portuguese and broken inglish. When we ask her why she does that we are told to mind our business. I'd like to address this to the woman who went to one of Trump's rallies dressed as a Moslem with her head covered with a scarf and having a sign that reads, 'I come in peace'. I don't know why she was asked to be escorted out, but by her own words the people in the crowd were throwing questions at her as to whether she had a bomb under her cloak. Well, whether she knew it or not, she provoked the crowd by wearing the mark of a Moslem - her cloak. Also, by going to the rally dressed the way she was, she knew before hand that she'd be treated that way. On her part, I see that as provocation. Had she gone plainly dressed or attired like everybody else, there would have been no adverse reaction toward her. I don't know what she could have said why she was asked to be escorted out, but she fully knows that the whole of America had been given the real and true picture of Islam - one of terror, murder, beheading, bombs, war, and blood. How do Moslems expect the most compassionate, kind, benevolent people in the world to act? So, please, use your common sense and do not see America as the enemy, the aggressor, or the provocateurs. They're not. They are just being vigilant knowing that the enemy could be so sly, cunning and untrustworthy. Islamic people,we welcomed you to our country. Don't think that we are not watching you. We have given you a new start for a happy life compared to the life you have had in your native lands, but we are guarding against an invasion that your evil governments have designed for our beloved country. The truth of the matter is that you are our guests in our country, and you don't have he right to demand of us what you like, especially when you want us to change our laws just to accommodate or please you. As a young child I remember viewing the Amish women as being in a chronic 'state of funeral' based solely on their signature dark garb. It created in my own (childlike) logistics that this was a type of society which I needed to keep at a distance from myself. I disliked their choices, finding them muted in a world layered thick in rich and vibrant fields of color. One can understand how real (natural) Canadien women can view this type of apparel as a slap in the face of their gender, a violent slap to go to the 'back of the line', 'take it lying down and like it'. So much is fear based and these Muslim women should shed their fear as layers of dark folds are sent falling to the floor - once and for all...

There is so much negativism associated with Islam and all Muslims get tarred with the same brush. They frighten us. Their dress is alien to us. ISIL and other groups do unspeakable things in the name of their religion. Their religion is too demanding. Christianity and other religions can adjust to scientific facts. We KNOW the world is round and there are other worlds, so far unpopulated, out there. Islam seems to demand adherence to its core beliefs written centuries ago and makes no concessions to emerging facts. Religion is the main influence in the life of Muslims and their Imams seem to have a lot to do with governance and education, instead of the separation of church and state to which we are used. If you come to Canada to live, then adjust to our values or leave, please. This doesn't mean that you have to stop attending a mosque but please discontinue the scary body coverings and start treating your women as equals, not chattels. Even some women will argue with that last bit, but why does a woman have to cover up and a man does not? This is NOT equality.

Being a Muslim woman must be very sad, in countries where Islam is the main religion they can't choose how to dress, they can't choose to have a career, they can chose who to marry, they can't choose their religion, and Islam also endorse husband to beat his wife if necessary. To the women who wear the niqab: do you really think that God is so stupid to judge you by what you wear??? God looks at your heart.\nThen, we can discuss about how much the US destabilised the middle east, but in general Islam doesn't fit well in a globalised world and created no social and economic development in the last 100 years. There are small exceptions (Qatar, UAE) who found oil under their ass, but in general a society who wants to live and do things like 1.600 years ago can only bring inequality and no progress whatsoever.

As a Muslim living in Canada, I don't see the harm in a woman wanting to cover herself, I wear the head scarf myself, but in my opinions I don't feel the need to cover myself to prove I am more modest or a better Muslim.  I believe everyone has free will and has the right in this Country to dress the way that the law has allowed them to.  No one has the right to tell someone how to dress, not even the Prime Minister himself.  Telling a woman what she can and cannot wear is oppression.  I truly believe that if Muslims want to live in Western civilization, then they should refrain from covering their faces because the face is our identity and People have the right to know who you are and what your face looks like.  You cannot vote with a covered face, you cannot cover your face in a passport photo, you cannot cover your face for your driver's licence etc... I am a Muslim woman and I say this.  It truly is a shame how the media is portraying Islam and the Muslim people as a whole, and it truly is a shame that Canadians have become so ignorant.  I see more ignorance and racism in Canada than I do in America and 9/11 took place in America.  If you want to know about Islam, learn about Islam from a Muslim, a Library, google Islam, or offer to spend a few days with a Muslim family for research to get a better understanding of Islam and Muslims.  As a Muslim myself I can understand the hatred and the ignorance because we act according to how we were taught and raised, and yes we have many extremists claiming to follow the Islamic faith.  These extremists are not only hurting Western civilization, but they are also hurting the peaceful moderate Muslims that value their rights and freedoms as Canadians.  I do not appreciate ISIS hijacking my religion, I do not appreciate Hamas or Hezballah hijacking my Religion because I am a very accepting person and a very open minded Muslim and to be defined by media as a problem or a terrorist is very hurtful and a shame.

It's interesting to see a Muslim woman give her opinion when in many Muslim dominated countries she wouldn't be given the same opportunity. I've also noticed many Muslims being interviewed are obviously not from overseas meaning they most likely haven't lived in a country that is governed by the law of the religion they follow. I wonder how they would enjoy living in any of the Muslim countries where Sharia law is practiced.

According to the Sharia law:\n\n•  Criticizing or denying any part of the Quran is punishable by death.\n•  Criticizing or denying Muhammad is a prophet is punishable by death.\n•  A Muslim who becomes a non-Muslim is punishable by death.\n•  A non-Muslim who leads a Muslim away from Islam is punishable by death.\n•  A non-Muslim man who marries a Muslim woman is punishable by death.\n•  A man can marry an infant girl and consummate the marriage when she is 9 years old.\n•  Girls' clitoris should be cut (per Muhammad's words in Book 41, Kitab Al-Adab, Hadith 5251).\n•  A man can unilaterally divorce his wife but a woman needs her husband's consent to divorce.\n•  A man can beat his wife for insubordination.\n•  Testimonies of four male witnesses are required to prove rape against a woman.\n•  A woman who has been raped cannot testify in court against her rapist(s).\n•  The list goes on.\n\nI would not want to live under such law, and it is happening in Canada now. Tell me it is reasonable, and you want to obey it. But hey, if you want to be slave, it is not my business, but please keep it in your home.

If you want to live under Sharia Law there are plenty of countries that already practice it. Don't try and impose S,L on the free world. Go live in Saudi, Pakistan, Iran where it exists in all its misogynistic glory. However, I would remind you it's forbidden for a man to speak to a woman who is not a member of their family. So you are breaking your own laws by doing what you are doing justify that if you can. I have no truck with folk following a religeon, just folk foisting it on me
