I'm british and was giving trump the benefit of the doubt but then he picked on Canada(we have the same head of state) and today his vice president started bitching about the british military, seems he forgot about the over 630 troops that came back in body bags after Britain stood right next to the usa after the new york attack. I never thought I would be more supportive of a government imposing tariffs on us than my own government, but hey Trump aligning the US with Putin and starting unnecessary and harmful trade wars with our allies is moronic and treasonous. The GOP used to be the party of free trade. That was literally their main plank for 40 years, and an idiot comes along who doesn't understand basic facts, such as how tariffs work, imposes them willynilly and vindictively, and the spine-challenged Congress rolls over without so much as a whimper. Meanwhile, an illegal immigrant from South Africa fires the people looking after our nuclear weapons, because he's also an idiot. And their fans lap up their clear treasonous acts.

Trump tried calling Trudeau “governor” as we had already agreed to annexed, like Austria in 1939, to become his 51st state. Trump is unhinged. He’s anticipating our lumbar to go up in price so he’s going to start mowing down American protected and heritage forests. What a ****** man.

This is probably about as dumb as his treatment of Volodimir Zelensky that just transpired on Friday at the oval office...and that idiot Vance is the one actually that has started that little debacle....I don't know man I thought these guys had more sense than to do this kind of shit.... But see this kind of situation is not going to affect him or his billionaire buddies because they have so much money they can cushion themselves until the cows come home....these assholes don't have nothing to worry about except the American people finding an emergency way of getting his ass out of office unless he changes course on all of this... We love Canada! We know that trump the traitor to Americans and Democracy started this horrible tariffs along with Americans losing jobs, Food is off the charts and the lies that trump tells has harmed our relations with European countries. All by him, the man who has been indicted in both criminal and civil law cases. We know that Canada shows honor in fighting back. If our spineless, cowardly republicans party would work for their constituents rather than for a criminal we would not be in This situation.

Is it possible that this is all about access to critical minerals - which Canada and Ukraine hav in abundance. America has form in creating a pretence to go to war to protect access to cheap oil. But in the past these wars were against arab nations and so the West found it easy to 'other' and accept the need for war. Now America under Trump is hoping to secure critical minerals (modern day oil) - but because they are allies he cant start an outright war. So hes doing it through trade. This is old form for America. When looked through this lense is not so difficult to understand. The big question is will the west allow him to bully western allies - democracies to be bullied into submission?

Trump wants to promote and impose his MAGA at the expense of America's allies. So early in his presidency, he has already met huge protests at home and abroad. He is starting to become a tyrant.

Trump started a trade war with our best friends for no reason at all. Canada has always been a good trade partner. They've never wronged us in any way. Trump is disgusting.

I think they’ve come up with a plan to divide the world between three empires - an American empire, a Russian empire, and a Chinese empire. Go back and listen to Trump on tariffs. If a country is fair with America, America will be fair with them. Americans do not realize how many tariffs we pay as a country. There are also countries that do not allow us to sell in their countries although they sell to America.\n\nFor years Canada has allowed a steady flow of illegals and drugs into our country. Now only after Trump calling them out they have started putting A FEW programs into place. WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN THE LAST YEARS.

Yes this move does look like it could be connected to Putin. If Canada financially struggle then they can't help if needed with the war in Ukraine which is a plus for Putin. I know Trump doesn't understand how tariffs work, but how can other Republicans in Congress agree to starting trade wars with our closest allies? Russia and China probably can't believe their good fortune. Trade wars with your allies, Trump crapping on NATO and then hanging Ukraine out to dry. How is this allowed to happen? Trudeau is serving the final moments of his last term, but his approval ratings shot up since the Trump presidency started. Trump genuinely such a crappy leader than other leaders with approval ratings in the dirt are gaining support for going against him. As an American, it’s damn amazing. I hope the next PM of Canada keeps up the same energy and doesn’t concede to the US. You say intelligent words right from the start and you deliver a strong message in a very strong manner, beginning with this: the US is declaring economic war on Canada, as well as strong arguments, and that fentanyl is just a pretext, which we all already know, that getting closer to Russia and cutting ties with its allies is Donald Trump's current course of action, and the fair question to ask is why is this man putting himself at the service of the Kremlin which is totally unnatural for an American.?

When you ALREADY have tariffs in place against the US you cannot claim Trump is starting a trade war. You started it. Now we have a POTUS with the sand to stand up for us not the world.
