WHY? \n1. The USA starting expanding NATO even though we said we would NOT (Thank Clinton)\n2. We did it again even though Russia said please don't (Thank Bush)\n3. Putin supposedly meet with a international group of news reporters to complain about. (I never heard that in the News did you?)\n4. We then said we were considering to except Ukraine into NATO. (Kinda like a Russian version of our Cuban Missile Crisis)\n5. Russia's Military is not equal so cant use that against threat but Russia is very good at Internet attacks. (2016 Russia attacked our Election and got Trump Elected)\n6. We did pretty much nothing about Russia attacking our Election, and they continued to attack our election in 2020 and 2024 (Why do you think Trump favors Russia)\n7. DOJ and Judicial System failed us in not prosecuting Trump in a timely matter. (When the Supreme Court is rigged we all fall down)\n\nGood luck to all the good people out there.\nGod save us

I am Canadian, and I want to speak to the USA, as a concerned citizen who valued the relationship that we once had between our two countries: please realize that we do NOT want to declare this as any form of “attack”, that these are solely defensive measures against your current administration’s lack of respect towards us as a people and as a country. \n\nPlease rest assured that we KNOW that not all of you voted for Trump, that there are those of you who realize what your current president is truly doing and do not support it. This is NOT about fentanyl. This NOT about money and how much each country was giving whom. We had a respectable trade deal that we were following, previously signed by Trump. We have always had a positive relationship together, business-wise and friendship-wise. Please also realize that, once your administration is no longer in control of our narratives in such a destructive manner, or it gets replaced by one that reverses this destructive policy, we will definitely reconsider our former relationship and we will work towards rebuilding it. \n\nIt is unfortunate for both sides here. We are aware of that. But “Canada Strong” is our way to remain forever a sovereign and free nation. Nothing more, nothing less. Always remember that.

What the vast majority of people imagined was that the day the United States went to war, it would be with its worst enemies, Russia, Iran, North Korea. Almost no one imagined that the United States would declare war on friendly countries and trading partners. Of course, it is a trade war, but it could escalate into something much worse. As an American who opposes - STRONGLY opposes - the Trump administration and everything it stands for, I am sorry for what our country's government is doing to the rest of the world but especially to our oldest, closest allies. \n\nThe MAGA faithful will remain faithful even as the prices of virtually everything goes up and up and our economy tanks. They believe what comes out of Trump's mouth no matter what it is, no matter how obvious reality proves him wrong. I gotta say that I'm not a liberal nor have I been a particular fan of Justin Trudeau... but today (and for the last few weeks) I've been quite impressed by my Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau. This Canadian supports a vast and vicious trade war against the United States. I do not have any hatred for the American people but I do have nothing but contempt for Trump and his band of traitorous scum! I wouldn't have dreamed that our closest friend and ally could be siding with an enemy proclaimed (Russia) against democratic nations. Trump represents an existential threat to democracy everywhere and must be put down by the American people like a rabid dog!

Trump is just a liar. These tariffs have nothing to do with fentanyl it’s all comes from trump having no clue what running a country requires do he is just acting like a tuff guy to assuage his ego. He only ran to stay out of prison. Facts matter \nLike the fact there was 14000 deaths last year from fentanyl in USA. Not 10 million. Fact In the last 10 years there has been 1.1 million deaths. Trump is trying to force Canada to become a state. This has nothing to do with tariffs at his point. Even if Canada did everything he wanted it wouldn't be enough to Trump.

There's many reasons not to like Trudeau up here in Canada, many of which are the reason he'll (rightfully) no longer be the PM next week. As a conservative I hated him for SNC-Lavalin (among other scandals), and the fact that his inexperience with the economy Harper left him is probably part of why this trade war is going to hurt more than it could have, and the fact that he's often been kind of a phony more concerned with looking and sounding good for the press cameras. Not this time. Nothing phony here; I've got to give credit to him for capturing the national mood pretty much perfectly with this speech. As a Canadian, here's my biggest concern. The whole border thing was nothing more than a ruse. Trump has cozied up to Putin ... basically, he's Putin's poodle. He's tossed Ukraine to the wolves. (Though, I think Europe and Canada will increase their efforts to help Ukraine.) My fear is Trump will find some way to justify sending American troops into Canada to simply seize the resources he wants but is unwilling to trade for.

All President Trump wanted was for Canada to take care of the drug problem that has killed so many. What is wrong with President Trump wanting things to be fair. Canada has charged the US a 25% tariff for years and that's acceptable I think not. They deserve a 25% tariff from America. Why do some Americans think it's acceptable to give America's hardworking tax dollars away to countries who show nothing but disrespect to United States what is wrong with you guys? America doesn't need to be everybody else's piggy bank we have our own people our own states to take care of own states to take care of.

Trump has made ruZZia's cruel dick-tator his closest friend, not ours, not our America's, which has not lost its love and appreciation for its neighbors, and especially Canada, its cousin! Trump is completely unreasonable. There is no sense dealing with him, period. If it is going to be 25% or even 50% with reciprocal tariffs, we simply DO NOT import American goods into Canada (if our retailers don't order them, there is nothing they can do) and if we export, the consumer is paying those tariffs and we continue to manufacture. I honestly think that is the best, maybe the only, solution. If tariffed countries stop buying American goods, maybe Trumputin will reconsider. And if he doesn't, he doesn't. He isn't known for his brain power.

Being an American I am behind Canada and feel these Tariffs are uncalled for and will do nothing to help our ever growing Inflation! It is Trump, and the problem is the rest of our Government (Congress and Judiciary) are spineless and won't stand against him. Trump is not doing anything for us but HURT us. I call for Trump's IMPEACHMENT and taken out of Office!!
