As European I admired the canadian democracy since years. Now, my respect grow even bigger. We need to stand together and work together against the stupidity in our modern world.

Canadian here: I don’t agree with the WSJ that DJT is a very smart man. I think they are just being diplomatic and putting the emphasis on the actions, rather than speaking ad hominem. I think he is crafty, but not well-informed, or logical. Even if he is smart, he is not wise, and there is a huge difference. If you read Proverbs, you’ll see he has the traits of a nabal, a fool. Plus, he is showing signs of cognitive decline. That’s not his fault, but he should be reassessed, and then those who CAN act, need the courage to do the right thing for the sake of the US and the world.

As a proud new Canadian and a born and raised Brit I think now is the time to create a new trade partnership between UK, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. Together we have everything we need. I'd even support a free movement agreement.

I have never felt more proud to be a Canadian, it’s a good feeling, I was almost brought to tears earlier thinking about it. And it’s interesting to note that it is overriding the fear of the consequences of Donald’s actions. Here’s where I can’t help but think of you, our fellow North Americans. The good people of the USA, I hold you in my heart. For you don’t have that boost that comes from feeling proud of your country. I can’t say I’ve ever known what that is like. It seems it would leave you gutted, and lost. Can you even describe the feeling, the experience? It has to be one of those things that you can’t know until you experience it. The pride in my country is keeping me going. My heart is crushed thinking that you do not have that. But you need to do everything you can to keep it. It’s what the Donald and his cronies are counting on. Unfortunately, he does not care about you. He wants to crush you. He does not care about America and what it stands for. He only cares about himself. If you do not have the fight that comes from being proud of your country, you guys are gonna be easy pickings. Do everything you can to find pride in your country. We need you to fight. We need you at our side. We are with you. We will always be with you.

Not even 2 months in, and already the damage is immeasurable. The world is bleeding because of trump, from coast to coast. What about 1 more year of this? 2 more? 3 more? Trump needs to get impeached asap.

Yall are sheep. \nEvery country needs imports. But America relies on so many other countries to keep itself going is more than unhealthy. If China and the US went to war, yes, China would suffer. But look around your house, I bet most of it says - Made In China. Point is, Russia started making their own. Yes, the US will always need imports. But did you know over a dozen + countries already have & had tariffs on the US for a LONG time, some are even our “ Allies “. Do you know why they do it? To protect their economy. To protect domestic goods. The short term is always the hardest. But it’s been proven that the long run, tariffs actually help a country’s economy. Also, the US gets shafted when it comes down to a lot of trade deals. Yeah, okay, imports are great… ( If you are getting a good deal )

Well maybe Trump needs to raise the tariffs up to 50%. Since 25% only makes us even with the tariffs you charge us

Canada does not even need counter tariffs. Canadians already stopped buying US stuff.

What's it about? It's about money. It's about a gangster family in the Whitehouse, and oligarchs in the administration, all trying to make as much money as possible. There's no other explanation possible. That's the only explanation that comes close to making any sense. Now more than ever, even if these tariffs are short-lived, Canada needs to move away from U.S. trade. This is necessary for the long term survival and prosperity of Canada. We need to make every effort to increase trade with the pacific rim, Europe and South America. There may be some short-term pain, but it has to happen. Given the events of the last few years in the U.S., Canadians have to realize that things can get even worse, and will likely never be the same. There is very little reason to believe that the ties Canada has had with the U.S. will ever be what they were, or indeed any reason to believe that that is even desirable now.

When 9/11 happened and Canada ?? took on thousands of passengers in Gander Newfoundland Canada ?? we opened our airspace and landed each and every one of them safely then when Americans couldn't get their medication, Gander gave it to them free of charge when Americans went shopping for clothes the stores gave it to them free of charge everything they needed was provided free of charge they were fed housed offered compassion and opened their homes so Americans could shower and clean up. America doesn't need there trade, both Canada & Mexico was only worth about 2.3% of their entire GDP. It's a bad thing for Canada but it's not going to effect America, you'll probably see a temporary blip but it'll be back booming even better in no time.

This is what happens when you decide to compete with a USA that is unshackled. The USA can produce more of our own oil than we can use, and we will sell the extra to YOUR foreign customers cheaper than you can produce it. Then you will be BEGGING for a pipeline. So Trump invited Canada to become a member of the most successful and powerful union of sovereign states in history, something that even our own territories of Guam, Puerto Rico, and all the others do not have. An invitation to be a bona fide member. Why do you think that is? Minerals? The USA has all the minerals we need. We have more oil, coal, and natural gas than any nation also, and we can produce and refine it cheaper than any country can. So Canada was invited to become a state so Trump could peacefully eject the ChiComs from North America. And did you accept? No. Did you say no thank you? Shall I go on? That's not Christian. Even if you aren't Christian...that's not what America stands for. All for what...eggs? Guns? Cheaper groceries? Or because your need for hating a small group of people out weighs global peace. Or is it because you are so short sighted that you can't even see the valuable contribution that non American born people provide this country. Yes, Biden fell asleep at the wheel. Trump is good a being president in many ways because he is a business man, not a politician, but in business it's about dominating the market place and your competition, bending them to your will if you can, but when you are president, you need to keep alliances with other countries, not dominate over them, otherwise you weaken your position on the world stage. When you are at the top with the biggest economy, army, you don't need to beat down those with less, you need to keep them on your side so their strength adds to your own, which is why you are at the top. Even a mafia boss won't beat down those under him, unless he wants war, and lose his position as others form alliances to take over top position as no powerful person, president, country wants to be beaten down into submission by anyone, so they create other alliances to match or overtake those at the top. In this case, Trump needs to play the politician or weaken his position, and China will be loving this as they are next in line.

A message to Trudeau. Put an export tax on the Oil and Electricity sold to the United States. Open up new European Markets for Oil and Natural Gas product and sell directly to Europe and Japanese markets. China needs oil, there is plenty of market around the world for our products. The Tariff's imposed by Trump is only going to make product to the US more expensive for their own citizens, and with Tariff's on all American imports, if they can't make it, or they don't have the raw materials to make it themselves, they will have to pay more. It is not necessary to impose Tariff's on USA Products to penalize Canadians, but Canadians will find new markets to replace the US, and we won't even notice it happened. We have alternatives. The southern islands are great vacation locations, and with the weather disasters they have suffered over the past few years, they could use the tourist support to help rebuild, and, their people are friendly and don't carry guns.

I don’t stand with anyone except the UNITED STATES Of AMERICA! But I want to make something very clear. We just went through 4 years of absolute hell with The Biden administration!! No way around it. And the democrats will do anything to make trump look bad no matter if it hurts our country or not. My response to the USA people: We will give you access to the Arctic, we will work together, we will sign new deals for the minerals and electricity that you need, we can work together to do all these things and beyond.\n\nWe will defend the continent together, we've always been your friends. I think Trudeau is the only one Canadian guilty of this problem. A French official disguised as a religious man was involved in drug trafficking with the Miami baggage handlers. He even commissioned the baggage handler to commit domestic terrorism for the benefit of France. Air Force pilots died as kamikazes to destroy the drugs while CLEANTOWN prevented the FBI from raiding Arkansas as usual under the pretext of religion. The worst thing is that this pretext did not prevent women and children from being burned in the Davidians as the ASOVs do in Ukraine. Submitting to the French government when they are going to have an import tax is allowing French products to pass through Canada to avoid paying tax. To be sure that this does not happen, they do not need a vassal of France who follows the liars, and this is not a hypothesis, it is a fact that a Canadian, either disguised customs, or director of 2 wheels, can confirm not the arrest of the baggage handler who traced the trail but the domestic HATRED of these so-called gentry French, the friend of the haters of the KKK of France is not a quality of security and alliance against hatred and sure that the taxe will be apply to the hatred.

People need to understand that the damage and fallout that will certainly come from all of the things that Donald Trump is doing is intentional. \nTrump's efforts to weaken NATO, destroying our relationships with our long-standing Western European allies, creating friction and distrust with our border countries of Canada and Mexico, taking a wrecking ball to all of our governmental institutions that hold this country together, sowing a lot of hatred and distrust among American citizens along racial and ethnic lines, using tariffs to destroy the American economy, efforts to cause Americans to lose trust in our courts, justice and Healthcare systems, trying to Villianize Zelensky of Ukraine while praising the dictator from Russia, is all part of a plan to weaken or maybe even destroy our country and to allow Russia to rise.\nIt is painfully obvious that Donald Trump is an agent for Vladimir Putin and Russia against the United States, Ukraine and the democracies of Europe. \nDonald Trump is a traitor! The Republicans in Congress need to do their jobs and remove him from office ASAP!

Counter tariffs aren't enough. Total embargo on all resource exports. They only have enough reserves to last a few months without massive shortages and price hikes. Then, when they cabe, we charge them triple to recoup losses. Canadian companies need to do their part, even if it hurts the bottom line.

America is going to feel real soon, that they needed their allies maybe even more then their allies needed them. Because strength doesn't come from one nation, it comes from unity.

As an American, did that weasel Trudeau just threaten us?! Um, he better backstep while he still has time. Canada has NO product that we Americans cannot replace with an American made one in a matter of months. Fertilizer is an easy one, Our farmers just need to go back to using natural animal/yuman waste which is ecactly what used to be done. It even saves farmers billions $ because they create a use for waste they now pay to have to process for removal. Lumber and products are also an easy fix. We Americans have millions of acres of timber that actually NEEDS regular harvest to reduce the forest fires that plague us yearly. The list goes on, and not a single item cannot be MADE IN AMERICA that we currently get from Canada.

Remind me again why Trudeau was forced to resign? Even NY Times investigative journalists recently explained how NAFTA worked against US interests and killed so much of our industry decades ago; almost the opposite of what was intended. Trade needs to be reformed across the board. It's also insulting the way other world leaders are now speaking directly to the American Public and lying to them as if they have our best interest in mind. World leaders are elected to defend the interests of their own people, many times they just look out for their own personal interest, but they are definitely not looking out for American interest. It is up to us. The world stage is a complicated transaction of this for that. That's life. Have you all forgot playing United Nations in high school? Trade needs to be renegotiated from significantly benefiting every other country but USA. Trump is trying to do that.

Even with every ridiculous thing Trump has claimed or done and despite his love for Pukin and Russia, there are relatively 'normal' people in the u.s. who think he's sane and doing great, one reason I've heard being 'There's less Mexicans around'. We pay out of pockets the 14,000 for our kids braces because we don't apply for any help.
