I am Canadian. Follow the money. Our Liberal Government is aware of the situation. They also have a 'catch and release program' when it comes to law breakers. They are ignoring the crisis, frustrating the U.S, it's citizens and ours as well. The (literally titled) Liberal Government and the NDP coalition have stuck to THEIR agenda regardless of the outrage of Canadian citizens for the last 8 years. It's shameful and reckless.

I am going to tell you all the truth. I moved away from Canada in 2006 and lived in China up until 2019 (moved back to Canada). I saw China develop into a superpower, hiccups and inflation galore. But taxes are relatively fair and the opportunity to build something was always present. I find Canada has become a terrible choice especially now (totally neutral standpoint). If you didn't get into the housing market pre-pandemic, it will be harsh and you will be either a mortgage or tenant slave. The taxes are outrageous, utilities, insurance... these items are MUCH higher than China (and most countries). Owning a vehicle comes with high costs and you basically need one if you don't live in a top tier city. And then you are overpaying in living costs. Income tax (25-60%), property tax (about a month's salary), HST (13%)... and what do you get in return? A broken healthcare system, more freedoms (debatable), your children learning about woke agendas? An inadequate pension? If you are not in the top 5-10% (and I am), this is a very bad deal. My advice is to try to earn online with a passion and live in a location where you can actually save. Coming to Canada for the experience is great. But trying to build up in Canada is not a great choice. I am on the winning side warning you, Canada is saturated... look elsewhere.

as far as i remember they said work permit extensions were temporary because of no PNP draws but still they will get 1 yr work permit which is still more than US and other countries , they can extend the work permit if they get a job so their employer in knob a and b jobs or corporates can increase that so why is the outrage someone explain pls

I am shocked to hear this from a CBC reporter saying IMMIGRANTS get money from the government!! Where on earth did you get this ,outrageous information!! People who apply to come to Canada as legal immigrants , have to go through a strict points system.that can take years . Plus medical and security checks. They have to speak English or French , be educated and most of all have a skill ,trade or profession that Canada needs!as Canada does not have enough highly skilled workers. Like IT professionals, doctors ,engineers, nurses etc. They have to have a job offer .etc etc .They have to have the means to support themselves and their family . Secondly when talking about refugees the ones who come across the border with no documentation, come on their own and do not fall in the 3 categories you mention? How outrageous are you to say the ones coming in illegally across the border are 1 privately sponsored, 2 government sponsored 3 or mix of both! Oh, I would. I live outside of Vancouver and right south of here is the border and in a little town not very far away from the border. I could’ve had a three bedroom home that was 2000 ft.² for $800 a month. Right now my rent is over $2200 a month. It’s outrageous how high the rents are.

Much the same s here in the UK. The cost of basic amenities and food is outrageous. We have foodbanks! Foodbanks in a so called 'first world' country. Despicable Tory rule over the last decade and a half has caused all this. Shameful.

As a Kiwi that has lived in canada for the last 18 months. I have found that all of this is true. New Zealand is reasonably expensive but canada is crazy, fruit and vege is outrageous. Phone bills, rent, used cars, all are far more expensive than home. Lucky they have good snow and beautiful views haha. 18 months was enough though, back to NZ

The homeless problem has become way worse over the years. Canada has become way too expensive to live with the outrageous prices in rent, heat, hydro, food, property taxes it’s bloody outrageous. Ppl loose their jobs and find they can’t afford to pay their rents and mortgages along with all the other bills if they can’t find another job right away. And companies are to hire minority over white ppl. A white male in Ontario, forget about it. White ppl have become minority now in the work force. Absolutely the cost of living has caused the homeless problem to sky rocket. As far as the system it’s true that the system takes care of foreigners first over Canadians. I remember many years ago I tried to get student assistance to take courses and I was rejected because I lived with a parent, the person on the other end of the phone told me strait out if I was a foreigner I’d of gotten the assistance, and this was way before Trudeau was in the picture!!!

I would disagree with the cost of groceries. I still think it's quite reasonable here. House is outrageous though. I wouldn't say that health care is bad but it's not great. You'll have to wait for chronic issue but for immediate help we do oretty well. I'd ask to look at the life expectancy and death rate to prove otherwise. A big problem is a lack of good paying jobs.

My country is planning on opening up to Indian immigrants at the end of the year. People are outraged as our society cares a lot about cleanliness and manners which India is not really known for. However, we are only allowing the elite and educated ones in to our system. Why? Because look at what happened to all the western world now that is dealing with mass immigration. But to be fair though, I had work with Indians in my previous jobs and some are pleasant to work with. But a lot are not. I got bullied and being called ‘Chinese’ even though I am not.

Basically by using outrage politics terms as a campaign platform and cover, it enabled him to push bills through that enact authoritarian powers like China and Russia use to control speech, communication, news, and citizens themselves without limit, all while stopping investigations into the intense govt corruption scandals. I really don't get the outrage, lived in downtown chicago for 6 years and the prices for a shared apartment was 700/bedroom. From what I can see, Canada is just catching up. Ya'll getting mad doesnt help just level up and stop fear mongering.

Cost of living and housing in Calgary is outrageous

So my relations are waiting for a permanent residency in Canada. Has taken way longer than three years, during that time they are no allowed to leave the country. They cannot visit family members even if they are sick or go to a parent’s funeral etc. It is totally outrageous

The US cant continue to support this mass migration due to financial unsustainability and at the expense of Americans who are struggling and need support. Its outrageous that we have homeless populations ,vets and working Americans , families who cant afford housing not getting the help they need because resources are being diverted to support illegal migrants. Thats not fair nor is it right. Tax payers money is being diverted for this and Americans need to demand accountability from Dem government officials starting with the Inept Biden administration for enabling this chaos .The fentanyl epidemic is also originating from Mexico and their cartels who have infiltrated the US and have set up distribution points in country via open borders which is driving criminal enterprise fueling mass addiction and driving high mortality rates in vulnerable population s in the US..

I am a US citizen and think of moving to Canada. Gun violence, homeless on the street, and migrants are hazard to live here. I went to Montreal last summer, staying in Travelodge near Old Montreal. Two nights stay cost me over $500 USD. It is really outrageous as I spent the same amount for a whole week on cruise, including room and all meals 4 years ago. I understand the inflation, but this same hotel usually charged me $200 US dollars in the summer. Now, Canada becomes un affordable to us. ?
