I came to Canada as a toddler in 2001 and it was like a dream come true for someone from a poor 3rd world country. But as of 10 years ago, the quality of life as well as the quality of services has just been getting worse and worse. As an immigrant myself, i know i shouldn't be saying this, but we seriously need to put immigration at a halt so that the current inhabitants can pick themselves up.\n-The job market is in a crisis, you can have a Masters Degree and still make less than 50K a year\n-We're facing an economic crisis where the cost of living is higher than what you're making (Low-class & Middle-class)\n-Free Healthcare is no longer worth paying for but we have no choice because majority can't afford to pay for Private.\n-Education level is a joke in comparison to Asia and Europe.\n-Most people are too old to even realize that they're voting for the wrong parties to run the country.\n-Depression rate is higher than ever. Satisfaction of life is plummeting, Suicide rate slowly increasing every year.\n-Public services are becoming more expensive, which once used to be Canada's greatest selling point.\n-No one wants to work the jobs that are available and in demand because immigrants are getting to pick and choose.\n-Properties are being bought out by foreigners thus raising the price for citizens who can't afford to buy anymore.\n-Birth rate and relationship satisfaction is slowly declining giving immigrant families access to Citizen status facilities.

I would like to congrats the left side, progressist, liberal government for ruining this that used to be one of the greatest countries ever! ?? \nthese issues has certainly absolutely nothing to do with immigrats !!!

Just today in the House of Commons Trudeau stood up and said, Canada is the greatest country in the world. Trudeau can't understand why everyone is complaining about living in a country he personally turned into a complete shit hole!

Canada is _one_ of the greatest countries in the world to live in, but like all other nations, it does have it's own issues. Nowhere is absolutely perfect. Everywhere has strengths and weaknesses. I still feel grateful and privileged to be born in this country.

As extreme as it may seem, I think mass deportation is necessary, and we treat it like it is; an invasion. Poised to strike at the American economy to weaken our country. Now, if there are so many migrants seeking asylum, then maybe we need to look at what countries they are from and look at the humanitarian crisis in our own hemisphere. If these other countries are so bad, perhaps then we invade them, restructure them, and make them a part of a new alliance. We pull our production out of chine, move it so we don't need ships anymore just planes/trains/trucking and actually build up the greatest hemisphere on the planet.

Canada has the same problem as the United States: wrong kind of politicians elected. Like the U.S., most Canadians consider themselves compassionate liberals and thus feel obligated to vote for said, compassionate liberal politicians. I used to think we were very much the same and I wanted to live in the US for the weather. But as we go often I have found the atmosphere and attitude has changed greatly in the last few years. People we used to be friends with don’t speak to me anymore as I called them on their awful beliefs. I know it’s not everyone but those beliefs have become way more common. The US used to be more global but now has become way more worried about themselves. \nYou can not talk about politics in a way that’s just a calm exchange, the hate is palpable. I went to an event the morning after a mass shooting and was visibly upset, not one person there talked about it or really thought about it. I asked someone about their thoughts and said “I don’t know why we have so many shootings here in the US” \nEducation is my next thing. I was born in Montreal and as a teenager I worshiped the USA.When I moved to USA in '73 the first thing I noticed was the prejudice against blacks .We in Quebec had/have a french english problem but the black white stuff was overwhelming for me. I got married and stayed, had a good job but when I was 59 I was laid off .I had saved 500k and social security was in about 3 years.Anyways I got very sick and health insurance was not affordable in 2009 so here was no net for me after 30 yrs of work. The USA is great country but not the greatest.

I suggest viewers take a look at StatsCan’s crime severity index which confirms that Ontario is the safest province or territory in Canada (safer than PEI lol). There are also scores for cities and Toronto is safer than almost every other Canadian city, safer than even Ottawa or Calgary, twice as safe as Vancouver, nearly three times safer than Winnipeg. If we start comparing to US cities, it would be even more shocking. Suffice to say, Toronto is not only safe, but it’s the safest major city in Canada and one of the safest major cities on earth. \n\nThe homelessness crisis has certainly gotten a lot worse, sadly. As has the cost of living, but you get what you pay for.\n\nHaving travelled to 35 countries (doesn’t mean I’m an expert, but I have some experiences in other places), I respectfully disagree and think Toronto is one of the greatest cities. It’s one of the greenest cities in this continent, safe, on the lake, super close to other major cities, great infrastructure (relative to Canadian cities anyway), it’s beautiful and there’s a ton to do, not to mention the diversity. \n\nDon’t be turned off by this, if you can afford it, it’s one of the best places you could live on this planet.

Being Canadian I dont stay awake all night worrying if the village idiot has a gun and will shoot me .I can have a pain and go to a hospital without worrying if I can pay for it .I get 3 weeks vacation every year which I hear does;nt happen in the USA .My kids can enter their school without having to go through a metal detector .And I dont have to be told I live in the greatest country on the planet because I have lived in a few other countries and I wouldnt trade Canada for any of them .

This Canadian lived in Orange County CA for 10 years. I took my the 12 year old with me. I had been offered my dream job and was paid enough to have a good standard of living. However, I lived in an immigrant community to save money as I found many of the high schools were horrid compared to Canada. I had not realized the school to school inequality to be so extreme and my kid changed to independent study at home. So with a Canadian elememtary education, they graduated high school a year only while skipping no courses..\n\nMy kid had medical issues and even with good HMO insurance, we could never get a decent diagnosis until it had gotten so bad that their digestive system was so wrecked. I finally sent them back to Canada for the surgery that we could not get in the USA. It seemed the insurance companies kept getting in the way. And in one case a doctor went all religious on us. After 6 years of almost continuous pain they finally got relief for a decade until the prior damage came back to haunt them However, after a year of university ib Canada my kid went to a private university in the eastern USA. They have decided to remain in the USA and now in their mid 30s, they make really good money anf have top line medical insurance which pays for the ongoing care they need because of the damage caused by delays when a teenager. \n\nI found life in the suburbs of Orange County nice but the OC is not a good place to meet people. When after 10 years there, in 2010 I returned to Vancouver to care for my elderly mother. I had been living alone for 6 years by then and was offered the first job in Vancouver anything close to me dream job there. and I returned to Canada at age 59. I had been approved for a green card in 2008 but there was a 6 year wait for it to come through. But I noticed the racism in the USA start breaking out all over the place when Obama got elected. And it has gotten worse and worse every year. Especially with 45 enabling it so much. \n\nMy circle of friends in Southern California are mainly good people and not at all like what we call MAGA-hats now. Except one who thinks 45 was the greatest. Politically, the USA is on the path that Germany was on in 1933 and I fear for the US Democracy if the Orange One gets in again. Even my kid and their spouse have bug out plans to head to Canada just in case. This is why my kid, while having a green card has never taken US citizenship. Besides, being a Canadian has not affected things the two times they got security clearances \n\nWhile most Americans are good people, it seems that about 25% have gone just plain loco and care nothing about democracy. And appear to prefer the USA to be a totalitarian theocracy \n\nI was there long enough, paying the maximum FICA taxes for 10 years to get a small pension from Social Security and I have Medicare Part A. I can afford to buy parts B and D but I see no reason. I have even better coverage in Canada for way less cost. The USA has a nice warm climate in many places and I just loved that. Canada is not the only county seeing this, and the US not the only country turning it's back on the benifits of immigration. You could have made the exact same video about Ireland vs the UK (except wages in Ireland are far high rather than lower than the UK) Here in Ireland we have long benefitted a great level of immigration fuelling rapid economic growth but since 2016 with Brexit, Trump ect. making it clear that immigrents aren't welcome in some other counrties we have seen a whole new type of immigrent from countries like Mexico where recent graduates seaking work experence in English pick Ireland rather than the US or UK as we have a better immigration system but also a culture which welcomes immigration as an endorcment of our country. Here the more you are proud of you country and culture the more you go out of your way to welcome immigrents who are the living embodyment of your belief that we are the greatest counrty in the world, not the welcome immigrents can expect from nationalists in the US or UK. The big winners here are countries like Canada & Ireland who have recognised that in the 21st Century it's not coal, iron or even oil that brings wealth but rather being able to attract the best & brightest talent in the world.

I would consider living in the USA but I would lose many of my Canadian veterans benefits and services that I currently receive. My grandparents are from North Dakota. I could use that to get citizenship through derivation… but then there would be the requirement to file income taxes in both countries. Any tax free benefits I get as a Canadian vet, would loose their tax free status and become taxable if I claimed my citizenship… so I have decided not too. If these issues were not in play, I would consider moving to northern Minnesota or Montana or Vermont. Somewhere close to the Canadian border, close to family but in a better climate zone. I like growing my own food and a longer growing season with nicer forests would be awesome. The climate in Manitoba is not the greatest for growing a variety of trees… and the trees do not get very big. I love Orlando and spend about 6 weeks a year there… but I could not see myself living there full time. Sometimes I will drive the 3600 km south to Orlando and I get a really good view of the wealth disparity in the USA… So that alone, I am happier in Canada… knowing that there is a better safety net for us should a situation in life happen that would leave you broke and homeless in the USA

First I feel for these people. They want to live in the greatest country in the world. The problem with a lot of these people is that they would vote for the same policies in the same things that ruin their home country and they would vote for that here in America. If our country goes to ruins, there’s nowhere for anybody to run. They need to migrate here the legal way or no way at all. Most of them would work for five dollars a day that is going to drive the price of labor down.

We talk about weather daily. I never realized until internationals pointed that out that we are obsessed with weather in sask lol. \n\n Our housing market is a joke and I agree we need to invest more in buisnesses but at the same time we need affordable housing, we are in a weird spot. I could go on and on how the 70s-90s were one of the best time periods in modern history for various reasons but I wont. There are problems internationally, we live in a globalist world. We still have it good. Go travel and make international friends. This is nothing that we are dealing with at the moment. All I will say though is leave the huge metropolitans like Toronto and Vancouver. Everyone wants to go there because they think 'theres more opportunity' ugh. Theres opportunity across canada but if everyone things like that there will be problems. The idea of Ontario or BC is just a big nope for me (although I go to BC every couple years, love it there I would not want to live there).

How can anyone not feel bad when you see those desperate faces. And those two women at the end man.. yes we have to take care of our own but we are the greatest country on earth we can walk and chew gum at the same time. These are people. Mass immigration isn't new. Every one in the comments has had ancestors who's done something like this a some point. And if you were in their shoes you'd probly put on your zapatos and try to come here to. Yall ever heard of the LLC? Greatest invention ever. I can start an entity and if it goes insolvent I can let it die with no responsibility. It's called bankruptcy. Every thing we judge people over, we have a part of that in ourselves. So sympathy and compassion should be deployed. As a country we should wish to have a program in the future built with ai and robots that would allow for processing of people at a much faster rate to integrate them into the economy effectively.

Maybe instead of trying to fix some country in the Middle East that not even history's greatest leaders have been able to take over, the US should have spent that money taking out the cartel and stabilizing the country right next to them. Then we wouldn't be seeing things like this happening. Of course for that to happen the CIA would have to cut its ties with the cartel and actually do something that benefits its own country.
