But one thing I don’t understand , sorry my economics wasn’t good at school , if a country increases tariffs on imports coming to its own people, would it decrease consumer prices to its own people ? Please lecture me here .

So let me make sure I understand! We, the US people, will be paying 25% more for all products coming in from Columbia. No one in Columbia will pay extra. This would essentially slow down products coming in from Columbia or any other country. The US people pay for this. It could or will change the behavior of these countries, but WE pay for this!!!

And Columbia will issue tariffs on the US to match, as well as take its trade to other countries more favorable to them! The USA loses because Trump is the biggest loser! Anyone who thinks that a man who lost the fortune his father gave him and bankrupted 5 companies, one of which was a casino, will be able to grow the US economy is uneducated, ignorant of the facts and truth and doesn't understand economics! I am totally agree USA border need to secure to stop illegal immigrants and I support America first agenda but I don't understand how tarrif gonna help American economy.Just Imagine when we put tarrif on trade that means US importer going to pay that or find alternative in short period of time this is going to increase inflation in USA.Once prices up it's very hard to bring it down we already seen in pandemic.We gone through pandemic inflation increase and then Ukraine war increase gas prices and inflation went up and now trade war with biggest trade partners this is going to be another economic damage and this is big one.

So many people don't fundamentally understand how tariffs work. America is one of the largest consumer markets in the world with the strongest impact on the global economic scale. Every country NEEDS their goods sold to the United States and tariffs make them pay more to get there goods here giving us a cash influx. while also dramatically increasing the competitive edge for domestic companies to compete against foreign slave markets.

I'm a newcomer, and I agree with the points, and I see that people are blaming immigrants in general, but they don't think in the structural flaws that we have in the government system, I found a shame the public transportation in some of the biggest cities and in other public services, and I found that could be easier the validation of diplomos, we have doctors and engineers driving uber, because they can't work in their profession, and I feel that they are putting limits in the immigrants from one side, but they have no limits in refugees, I understand that they need help but should have a limit that the structure can hold.

I am a skilled worker (an engineer), I graduated from a master's in Germany and speak fluent german. Housing is one of the negative points I can mention. If Canada cuts down on those selected immigrations but still takes in refugees, it’s only going to make anti-immigrant sentiment worse. Selected immigrants are allowed into Canada to help alleviate Canadian issues…or at least people who come through Express Entry are less likely to become a burden. On the other hand, refugees, given their unfortunate circumstances, really need to rely on a lot of social services and resources to help them resettle. The US has eliminated pretty much all non-humanitarian immigration that’s why immigrants are so demonized there. Americans only feel the drags of refugees and asylum seekers (even though ethically we need to protect them) and there is no selected immigration to balance that out. Yet this round of Canadian policy change is heading exactly that direction.\n\nIt used to be international students in Canada are not paying a lot more tuition than Canadian students. But Canadian universities saw how much money universities in the US are making so they asked the federal government to change the policy to enable them to charge international students several times the regular tuition (whereas in countries like France, international students actually pay less than citizens). So now Canadian universities rely too much on international students to operate and it becomes an exploitative relationship even before students step foot on the campus. The number one problem with deporting undocumented people. I applied and finally received notice that I can move to Canada as a permanent resident. Some of the videos I have watched (but not this one) have put a scare in me about my move - primarily about the future of the Canadian economy, etc. This video makes me feel better about my move and the recent election has made me realize that I no longer understand a good percentage of my fellow Americans. It has been, and will continue to, a very disheartening feeling that my US is, at least temporarily, gone, gone, gone. Regarding the homeless situation, my current American city is smaller than Ottawa by about 600,000 and the homeless problem here is probably quite a bit worse than Ottawa's.
