It is ridiculous that Canada and US do not even know if a particular individual have existed the country. Esp. when the benefits they are seeking are within the same agency. The US it’s all DHS. People have to file FOIA request to request the agency for information they hold in order to give it back to the exact same agency as evidence. Just beyond any logic.

When they don't want to live in Canada and they love their country why they apply for citizenship, we had an almost same case in USA few years ago a Chaineas family brought 8 or 9 months pregnant Chaineas women to give birth to their children in USA for US passport and citizenship when police arrived at their home there were 35 couples in a 1800 square foot building with the new born baby and some at hospital and they normally left US after few weeks,usually Chaineas love their country but I don't understand why they want western countries citizenship.

Tried to bring my Central American Wife of 15 years, my 9 year old daughter, and my 20 year old stepdaughter {university scholarship} to Canada. If that caravan reaches US soil...I have no doubt they will go straight towards Canada ?‍♂️ then they will try to change our culture history and the housing market will suffer. Why don't all the nations like US and Canada try to help fix what is happening from the places these people are fleeing, especially if they are murder capitals? They can recruit these migrants to form coalitions to rebuild their nation. What if they are really are going to suffer there, without outside intervention, by being recruited, instead, into gangs or be killed or raped? If we send troops to the middle east for our vested interest, then don't we also have at least some vested interest to send troops in Honduras and El Salvador? There are plenty of things our nation can do to uplift our own destitute and out of luck an alone citizens...with that money. Then it is possible and foreseeable to reunite all the undocumented immigrants back to their now safer home countries. I understand why they flee and also understand why the US and Canada cannot absorb these large population of people, and they have the right to determine who is invited in, so....why can't there be more permanent solutions? I feel, certain pathetic political groups are playing these migrants, the law-abiding citizens and others in their game of chess. Lives are not pawns for chess. Is there a hidden path for drugs, money, prostitution that is being quietly supported? Are certain businesses lobbying in the millions and billions to get cheap labor? Is that why this problem is not finally being solved but kept alive for so many years? There are basic solutions that have not been tried in earnest. You cannot just bring everyone in and you cannot just turn your face to the problems these undocumented people face... I feel like much is not being discussed about this situation....Something else is going on that they are not covering...

How could you not inform yourself to the best of your ability so that you are prepared? My mother looked into everything, gave up everything, to come to Canada. I'm a US expat living in China. In china, you cannot get a green card. I leave every 60 days because I can only stay for up to 60 days, just to turn around and come right back that same day. Once i'm back in China, I need to register my address with the police, and update my resident card. To get a 60 day business visa here, I had to get a Chinese company send me an invite, then need it to get approved. The process was expensive. But I follow Chinese law, and respect it with everything that I am. This is China and this is there laws. So who is VICE to make a victim out of this person? Just a crock of shit. This guy can go to many many countries around the world. India, Indonesia, even China but from the looks of it, this guy could not handle China. There is Safe Third Country Agreement between the US and Canada. Therefore the law says you are required to claim refugee status in the first country you land in. With that being said he landed in the US first and probably applied for status there. This is a strong deciding factor for the government's decision process amongst other factors. Could you imagine living and working in a foreign country for a decade and a half and not know enough of the language to have an interview? This silliest part of this story is that if he could write a resume listing all that construction work that he has done he could easily find work that pays comparable wages to what he gets in Canada or the US in most Latin American countries. And he wouldn't even have to deal with documentation problems and culture shock. Construction businesses in those countries would be delighted to have workers capable of working to North American standards.

Why don't all these Latin American asylum seekers go to places like Belize, Costa Rica, Panama? The economies and lower crime rates in these countries are good enough to attract many expats from Europe and the United States. Surely for someone seeking asylum they should be okay - and not too far to travel to get there. Plus, they already speak the language! None of this convinced me that the immigration laws in Canada are as bad as in the US. At least Jose and his family were vetted upon entering the country.
