As a Canadian who use to be homeless, don’t be fooled by the numbers they say they give to homeless. The reason they’ve increased funding for social services is because our homeless population has increased exponentially, because, people can’t afford even a cheap rental

As a Canadian in the US (Cali)....cost of living is low because you're in Quebec. Toronto/Vancouver....cost of living is definitely not low. Quebec just isn't a high value destination for most people, hence why Montreal hasn't seen the same cost of living increase as the other two major centers. Cali has crazy costs, but we're literally the highest (maybe HI?) in the US, everywhere else is way cheaper. With that said....100% on tap water. San Fran has great tap water....but outside of that I avoid drinking any tap water here in the US :/.

I went to New York 20 years ago, I found the food was terrible and the air smelled like sewage. Central Park was the only place I enjoyed there, likely because the trees were able to filter the crappy smell from the air. Montreal, despite the episodic smog events, smell like heaven next to that. Also the milk in the US tastes absolute garbage unless you pay the piper for organic, non growth hormone raised cow milk. Most farmers in the US shoot their livestock with all sorts of hormones to increase production but they just end up spoiling the taste, it's quite hard to describe but it's painfully obvious when you experience it.

I don't like p[laying politics, but what's even more ridiculous than the cost of living, is who gets blamed for it. You literally have a WHOLE political party that makes their careers off of huge tax cuts to the rich and corporations, and yet when that causes prices to increase, they blame the other side. Like, for real.

Give it time, the globalist will destroy Canada just like they did America. Europe is already starting to unravel. Riots and protest all the time, increasing crime and no solutions.

Worst part of Canada is how increasingly Left it's becoming. Two left wing parties dominate our country and will for the foreseeable future. Our right wing party isn't even remotely close to right wing like the US (it's center-right). We're trending toward left wing insanity.

Toronto has definitely become less safe in the last 10-15 years, although still much safer than many major centres in the USA. Personally, I've had to change some of my behaviours to accommodate heightened safety. For example, I don't fill my gas tank at night anymore because of the increase in car jackings in my area. I also don't take public transit at night because almost every day there is a new story about the police looking for someone who sexually assaulted someone on the transit system. As a woman, you just need to be more careful in Toronto and it doesn't help that you can't carry any weapons on you for self-defense. I would never move to the USA because I think it would be too much culture shock for me. But I have seriously considered moving out of Toronto to a safer area and more affordable cost of living.

The CBC is a huge issue in Canada. It’s funded ENTIRELY with tax dollars therefore the government decides what we watch, even if no one wants to watch it at all, and the CBC is 100% in love with the Liberal government and all of their news is blatant propaganda. Why not? The Liberals increased the CBC budget to 1.6 Billion a year of course they want to spin the news to help them especially when you consider the fact that many Conservatives want it defunded completely because they are tired of the spin. \nAnother issue is that some areas of Canada make the decisions for the rest of the country. Ontario and Quebec have large populations therefore when it comes to federal elections they basically always get their way even if everyone in Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba disagrees. \nAlso, Quebec gets treated completely differently than the rest of the country. They have special deals when it comes to university tuition and child care, they have their own political party that no one else can vote for, and they force the rest of the country to have French all over the place and on everything which is mostly pointless and very few people in Canada can only speak French and can’t understand the English. The amount of crappy, unwatchable French TV/radio shows we outside Quebec have to pay for with tax dollars is beyond ridiculous.\nI know this comment will get hate especially since I mentioned Quebec which is a touchy subject.

One problem I see with this system, is that some folks may end up homeless, but not necessarily on drugs, they will end up at shelters full of people that DO drugs, and thus have no escape, other then becoming a drug addict too. So your liberal ideas are actually increasing the homeless drug addict problem.

You said immigration has increased in Canada due to high cost of living and covid restriction. This is the opposite. the number of peoples who leave Canada are more than the number of immigrant! doesn't make any sense what you said at the beginning of your video.

A very bad policy that will only serve to exacerbate the affordable housing crisis and create even more social tensions and environmental degradation. The government is increasing the number of immigrants to serve an ideology of ever increasing economic growth, which simply means ever increasing levels of production and consumption with the natural consequences of rising levels of pollution, vanishing pristine areas, shrinking wildlife populations and forest cover, etc, etc. Do we really want to be a country so committed to American style economic policies that we will give away all that is sacred and unique about our land so that the government has a larger tax base?

Nova Scotia has many plusses, but it also has gigantic minuses too. Apartment rental prices in Halifax are as high as those in Toronto and rents in smaller towns are also very high- especially in relation to salaries. Nova Scotia has the highest provincial taxes in Canada but with very little to show for it. Around 100,000 Nova Scotians do not have a doctor at the moment and the list is growing not decreasing. Public schools are overcrowded and have very high class sizes- Nova Scotia teachers are the lowest paid in the country. If NS has the best schools in the country, then Canada is in big trouble. Yes, the province did have less violent crime than Ontario or Quebec (property crime has always been around the national average), but that is changing with the increase of 'new comers' in our cities. Fights/Assaults have always been a part of life here, but stabbings used to be non-existent. Now they are common place in our province. Just keepin' in real. It is still a pretty place, but perhaps it is better to visit than to live here.

There are increasing numbers of homeless people in major Canadian cities b/c of the woeful deficiencies and limited scope of conventional economics/ The working poor unwisely motivate themselves to work jobs to pay for basic necessities and thus they are stressing themselves to death to prolong their survival as a happy, hopeful slave/ The fearful, obedient masses are psychologically conditioned to save money, lose their health/ All industries in Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver are criminally insane and central banks subject specific social classes to financial sodomy for the purpose of reinforcing ideologies and the dogma of the profit quotient/

Many people especially from states of Gujarat , Punjab , Andra Pradesh are desperate to move out of country because of social economic issues. The story did not end here, the Indians who are already in Canada are exploiting these poor students by increasing rent, forcing them to work illegally at a low wages. If Canadian authority do not look into these issues , there will be a situation where law and order will be out of control.

The analysis about Healthcare is correct about demand being more than supply. But what is not really understood is that the Canadian rules make it that way, not lack of medical professionals. In other countries with national health care like UK, you can legally pay for extra care. In Canada, doctors are fined if they try to provide extra care or even want to work extra medical jobs. So you have to ration medical care and care is fixed, cannot grow or increase except by whatever the govt plans. Any additional care can only be obtained outside of Canada or else illegally/on the black market if in Canada.

In my own opinion, safe injection drug sites have only increased drug dependancy. The homeless situation is very real and likely also a symptom of the high cost of living.

Just more than a year living here in Canada realizations:\n\n1. So cold. Not everytime you can be so productive because the weather is a big hindrance\n2. There will be great opportunities, sometimes really fast promotions or salary increase but workplaces are always short staffed that the amount of work is not worth it with how much the salary is. \n3. You are wrong about Canada protecting and caring about homeless and in-need people. The reality is that even though you don't see all the homeless people, there are tens of thousands of them in each city, more so in the warmer climates. The UN has already been on Canada's back for the abuse of homeless people and the cruelty towards them and those with mental health problems. Canada is a fraud and has been deceiving immigrants and visitors for over a hundred years. Many of the homeless people in Canada, especially in the past 20 years and from the start of the pandemic, continuing to this day, are now including people with good educations and many years of high-level job experiences, as well as whole families. These people became homeless because of massive job layoffs and lost everything. Contrary to the popular Canadian ideology, homeless people are not lazy slobs who don't bother to work and need to get their acts together. Many of the homeless shelters are filled with dangerous people, bed bugs, and diseases. Many homeless people choose to find alternatives to sleep safely. Many homeless women experience terrible sexual assaults that rarely are reported and rarely ever taken seriously by the police. Most alternatives to shelters are limited and there are so many restrictions that qualifying doesn't always happen. Many have had their ID stolen, so they are unable to get jobs, rent homes, or even have a day to shower and clean their clothes. Most donations of clothes, blankets, and sleeping bags are disregarded because most homeless people don't have the means to carry things. Their nutrition is terrible, through no fault of their own. Many food banks will not give food to those without a home. Many soup kitchens will only help periodically and not for every meal. Canada's treatment of homeless people and mentally people is not just disgraceful, but criminal. The general attitude of many Canadians, as taught to them by deliberate government propaganda, is that if you are poor or were abused or a victim of crime, is that they did something to deserve it. Rents across Canada are beyond the reach of the majority of Canadians, yet, Canada refuses to set up a council house system like the UK. There are no emergency homes and no emergency assistance even close to what the UK and other countries across the world provide. Canada's continued abuse, ill-treatment, crimes against humanity, and genocide of the First Nations peoples is not a past history, but an ongoing history that is not about reconciliation. It is about shutting them up so that they cannot speak and get true justice, instead of just a federal government settlement of a meager amount that has only increased the addictions of victims, who have no one to help them or a place to turn. Canada lies about trauma help and treatment for people for having been victims, or have developed PTSD (this is a brain injury and only a mental health problem if the person becomes suicidal or is unable to do the basics of essential living), and worse, Canada lies about this in relation to kids. Alberta has a place that they claim is for treating trauma in kids. However, this place is nothing more than a low-level counseling center to reunite kids with their parents, who have been removed by law. Any child requiring help has to deal with just basic counselors, who are not trained in helping traumatized and PTSD kids. In relation to the First Nations peoples, if the teens have mental health issues, and if they have to be temporarily hospitalized by their parents, social workers and doctors will force joint custody with the parents, to treat the kids or remove them so they can carry on the government's crimes against the First Nations peoples. The crimes continue. In these past few months, a baby was left to die in a basket at a nurse's station in the Misericordia Hospital, Edmonton, Alberta. The mother was allegedly treated like garbage and her child was allegedly called a specimen. But this is not the only case of such abuse of First Nations pregnant mothers and their children. A case over a decade ago allegedly also took place, and the number of these cases in this hospital alone may possibly be much higher, and other hospitals may also be hiding such crimes. An infant, who was the victim of attempted murder by one or the other parent, was put in the care of relatives by social workers, who were totally unaware of the crime, but the one parent, who was put in the hospital's mental health unit, mentioned a version of what had happened, and when the relatives found out, they were allegedly reassured by the hospital that they would deal with the matter. The relatives believed, understandably, that the hospital would report the crime, but it never did. Allegedly the hospital covered up yet another crime. The police in the city, allegedly informed at some point, one of the relatives that no charges could be laid even if the child remembered as the Canadian health services do not believe that children below the age of 4 can remember anything. It was when I heard about this that I realized that the reason Canada has gotten away with the crimes against the 1st Nations, immigrants, Canadians, and who knows how many other victims, through the mandated alleged use of forced assimilation and the alleged Soviet-style education system, is because of this fake claim that children and even infants cannot remember things. This deliberate lie to those relatives allegedly by the police, shows clearly that Canada is following the dangerous path in a more stealthy fashion than the Nazis did to the Jews and others they rounded up, arrested, tortured, and/or eventually murdered. Your perceptions are limited by your obvious lack of real knowledge and real experience. Please, if you are going to make such a video, live in Canada, all over Canada for at least 30 years, then comment, please!

Actually as an Indian from the south, we assure you this is also the result of North Indians wanting to settle abroad under any conditions. It's their fault too. Indian quality universities are not increasing seats and continously raising the bar for admissions are another factors. India's youth population is the biggest in the world and Indian politicians least feel the responsibility to provide for us.

I just read an article 5 minutes ago on CTV about a refuge that stabbed herself in the stomach. She said why is the Canadian government bringing us here if there are no places to stay. There will be a huge influx of Ukrainian refugees, One could not get a better immigrant in Canada they are well educated, hard working, industrious and use to the Canadian winters, They build the prairies in the last Russia war migration in 1914 and will be major contribution to Canada. This means that they will bring more immigrants and tell them they can't work because they don't have Canadian experience. Physicians will end up working as drivers and then people will have to wait for months for a doctor or a surgery. Teachers from other countries won't find work . Let's bring in more immigrants while every place is short staffed and increase wait times for every single thing from buying a coffee to finding a family doctor. Toronto has no more capacity for people. First improve the quality of life for those who are here and then bring new people. I still don't know what a doctor, a teacher, a mechanic, a nurse, ...........with Canadian experience knows that other people doing these jobs outside of Canada cannot do. Probably just a way to keep people back so they pay for college or university education and end up thousands of dollars in debt and still not be able to find the profession that they have been trained for back home for years.

Right now, we need fewer immigrants, not more. It is irresponsible to be opening the floodgates to immigration when we do not have enough affordable housing for them to live in. Where are they going to live? Under the current system, we have more new Canadians bidding up the prices on a limited supply of housing. To say that increased immigration will build MORE houses is just not true. Since 2000, Canada has brought in 5 956 963 immigrants; (Source Statista). During that same period that we brought in almost 6 million new immigrants, Canada’s housing situation has deteriorated to the point so that people are unable to find affordable housing. Forty-year old’s are living in their parents basements because they cannot afford a house or rent an apartment. If 6 million new Canadians only makes housing worse, what will opening the flood gates do? No, we need to fix our problems at home. Ensure that there is enough housing for people to move into before bringing them into Canada.

The problem is apparently the lack of people in Canada having kids. Some are trying, but unable (infertile for whatever reason), while others don't want children for various reasons, including the cost to raise them. So the government is resorting to ever increasing numbers of immigration to supply the economy with workers. This has been going on for quite a long time, though the numbers have increased dramatically in recent years. I wonder if the government has statistics on the success rate of those they bring into the country? And others have posted here the question of being able to deliver the services all these new comers will need. It's a valid concern.

Why cant we meet our Paris Agreement numbers?? Because our government is bringing in more immigrants that need housing (cutting down trees), that need to get to places that cars need to be used to get to, that need to build new sewage treatment plants, that breathe in more air.\nYes! With more people coming into the country, our greenhouse gas emissions go up, so what does this government do?? Increase the carbon tax thats supposed to be used to fight climate change. Great scheme, increase carbon emissions by increasing our population so we have all the excuse in the world to increase the carbon tax at a time when energy prices are at a record high.

Moving someone from warmer regions to colder regions increases carbon footprint.

This isn’t a move out of altruism. Ontario recently passed a law trying to force workers to agree to slave wages (1% wage increase after 20% inflation since the last one). They want workers who will work for slave wages living 4 to a 1-room bedroom

please increase a standard minimum wages. Poor minimum wages and high cost, high taxes making life unaffordable .

So basically, the Liberal government plans to depress wages further while increasing the cost of living. I guess rent wasn't high enough so obviously we need to steal a portion of everyone's income to increase the demand for housing by bringing in half a million immigrants per year. This plan is blatantly evil.
