I know a lot from working all over canada and they come for the free money and health care and school, as soon at they are legal canadians every single one I know/knew left because they don't want to pay the high tax and cost of living, 1 guy I was friends with for a year showed me what he got to come here and it was = to 10 years pay for me at that time. Then he sold the house and cars and left after his temp visa expired, I know of people in AB and on the east coast working here and living 5 and 6 guys in a 3 bedroom and they send every cent back to their own country so they can buy land and housing, For them it's a great get rich quick plan, The one guy I knew for a year offered to pay to have my car fixed and I said no but he insisted it was free on his free tax payer supplied credit cards, If I was not from here and they offered me all this money and stuff Id be here doing the same thing, 5 years here makes you rich when you go home. 2 bedroom condo in Mexico is $85g so if I offered you a good job that will get you a house paid off and lifetime of saving in just 5 years but you have to live in another country would you do it. 100% I would Im looking at my adult kids who will never own a home if they stay here vs the people coming over for 5 years then their set, All my kids are planning to move to a new country for this very reason they are saving and then getting out when the depression hits.

Outsourcing impacted badly on Canadian citizens. Those people come on work permit, day one they've job and the one who is Canadian and the victim of outsourcing, they've to search for the job and the worst thing before leaving the job you have to trained those outsourced people, they are 90% from India who hardly speak proper English. Is it fair for Canadian? And the people on work permit they can apply for citizen after certain amount of time. The Canadian government has not updated it's Stats so what New Comers see when they look up housing prices and labour market. It still reflects 2016. They never let those coming here know how difficult it is to get their credentials recognized or the lack of housing. So a Dentist or a Director from a University end up working at Super Store. Also, as soon as they arrive they are told these short certificates that they take will get them an excellent job when in reality it's a cash grab and they don't end up getting hired anywhere as the course and school is not recognized. Totally ripping them off. Basically we have set up a system where a nurse from another Country can't even become a care aid. Ridiculous how many road blocks there are. And then of course there's the lack of housing not just the price. (I am from BC so this is coming from a BC perspective)

Canada should be considered as bypass country, get Citizenship and leave to USA. Canada is third world country in hide of First world country. Living there since 2013, moving out of here as soon as I get chance. No savings, high expenses, low salary standards, less opportunities, very few corporate culture & few big firms, highest depression in developed world, worst weather, poor government, less progress & development. I’ve lived near Toronto for the vast majority of my adult life. Around 2016 I was working there and started to explore the city a little bit more, living there for a short time. I think the draw and attraction was that it always was a little hectic. Always something to look at, so many different cultures. Also such contrasts, walking through the downtown core and then out to a neighborhood like Greek town. With parks and even forests to be found. It went from tense to a feeling of refuge and a sense of a natural oasis within a chaotic machine. I think the sense of calm which could be found has become a little more rare. Also a certain openness that people and cultures had towards each other has been fading. Discourse with other opinions morphed into the near impossible. It’s all by design and sad to see. It’s a tangible and significant change. When you zoom out at the infrastructure, social and economic level. It’s very hard to see a healthy recovery happening anytime soon. Mostly due to those being in charge not caring. Still lots of beauty there. I would never choose to live there again, but if anyone is still living there and reading this. My advice would be to explore the greenways, parks and forests to be found. The juxtaposition of city and nature gives a heightened appreciation to both realities, and really gives a more balanced/peaceful mindset to explore the good which can be found

I am a dual citizen, spending 6 months/year in Canada, working remotely for a Canadian bank. It was pretty comfortable living in Canada years ago, however I'd prefer living in the US now. Canadian advantage over USA, healthcare system, is deteriorating very fast, with hordes of new immigrants coming every year ... Canada soon will be a hostile to the US country with current levels of immigration from Asian countries unfriendly to USA. I am considering leaving Canada for good, heading back to the US or moving to Portugal/Spain, selling a house in Canada will allow buying a nice property elsewhere.
