I am not Muslim but Canada is still a great country. A Muslim country will be a huge change and it does depend on the country. I lived in Morocco for 2 years and you are judged by your money. Really snobby people. They hate the poor and there are lots of poor people. Cost of Living has also increased. Lovely climate. No job opportunities for young people. I worked in Dubai for 6 months. All bling and only the 20 % have any proper say. Spent a holiday in Oman. Woman still kept back. Also might get caught up in Middle East conflict. Countries like Kuwait/Saudi etc very strict after freedom of Canada. Albania probably would not be strict enough for you. 60% percent Muslim. Had a holiday there about 10 yrs ago. Beautiful in summer and I believe still reasonable. Will be interested to see where you pick. I live in Ireland cost of living madly expensive!! I have cousins in Montreal. Have spent many vacations there. Why not try Vancouver for better weather? I just love Canada but all my immediate family are here. Canada is built on false promises to lure in immigrants to have them work for cheaper while ignoring it's own citizens. If there was more of an effort on infrastructure and technology Canada could have been similarly valued to the states but treadeu ruined all major relationships and is a laughing stock globally it's very clear no world leader even respects the guy and hurts canadas trading potential massively along with how we're viewed. Canada tried way to hard to be it's own thing and different which also helped shoot the country in the foot. The government is extremely corrupt outright denys separate parties from speaking, underhanded tactics to win elections, control over media. Canada is a first world country but a declining one at that and if something doesn't change it will easily become an impoverished country where we will only be used to have our resourced sucked dry and sold to other countries to profit off while the elite remain powerful in Canada. Canada is seriously wasted potential. Canada should have high speed rails that connect the major cities but doesn't, we don't have actually good energy infrastructure due to projects being abandoned under trudeau that would bring a lot of money back. I used to love this country but as it is now I despise it because it's become crushing to live here as a bachelor making 32k and renting

I’m hearing from a lot of immigrants that Trudeau has brought in way too many immigrants. I was lectured by a Sri Lankan at a Pizza Pizza in Toronto that Canada is now a third world country because of all of the immigration. It’s time for Trudeau to go. Ive come across a lot of woman too who will get pregnant in india then come here so their baby becomes a citizen, then use the child as a gateway to make it easier to have their own citizenship.

Let's be real here, there are too many international students, refugees, and immigrants. And it causes a lot of strain on the system. The Liberals have made mindless decisions on non-Canadian intake and it has changed Canada for the worse.

There is sooooo much wrong with this I can’t even begin. I will say that I work in retail in a small town with no college or university in our town and we’ve had a lot of Indian students come in to ask if we’re hiring with resume in hand and calling the store as well. It’s way out of hand how many students they’ve let in, ridiculous actually.

look students pays for thier tuition without government support, then they will work double time to make it happen, then after they are educated enough then canada can benefit with educated individuals, those who cannot make it will be deported or end up thier student visa, its a win win for canada, but for now i heard that the labor market in canada is flooded with students, from restaurants to hotels; manufacturing, love the young educated cheap workers. canada will not stop this because they need the population to grow and they benefit this a lot. This comparable to H1B visa in USA but the difference is those visa holder is paid accordingly when they are hired in the USA. So the US end up getting the best people to come to thier country because only the cream of the crop or the best are the only ones that can get H1B visa. not talented enough or having police record no H1B is a fact

You want to believe it , to MENY international people , we’re being taking over !their buying up every place and rents are gone up Doubled , I my self , my friends , my family, we have no where to live , I’m took a never brake down be cause I’ve been homeless for 6 months , living with family, because rents have doubled , I’m middle aged ,lived here my whole life ,any many many others like me retired and can’t find a place to live ! What the heck is going to happen, it’s not all students, unless their bring all their generations of families with them ! It’s not only students , tell the truth , like I said unless there bring their generation of families with them , a lot of people are out raged where are government has our country .

Too much here, no housing, most of cities become housing student, noisy etc... the worst some cities most thing they are in their own country add listing for rent with a lot discrimination , bablah they want student came from India, it worse because we don t have that kind of discrimination in Canada when you go to Market place or KIJIJ lot of racists about student housing. Anyways its like the end of the world . I m tired to see these people bring that mentality in Canada. Too much here .

The government of BC is taking action by requiring TOD at its transit centres. Why not the rest of the provinces? In Calgary alone, we could house at least 250,000 more people if every station had TOD. It's more sustainable growth, and accrues new transit riders and vibrancy instead of the decay and antisocial behaviour we saw during the pandemic. It could break ground tomorrow in Calgary if it were pursued...with all of their vast parking lots that do little more than waste land.

I moved to Mexico & everything about my life is better not to mention the weather and the people here are friendlier & generous, the sense of history, culture & architecture is incredible so many different climates to explore. Healthcare can be free or there is different levels of private care & they currently have a government that is truly democratic & investing in the country & its people. I haven’t been affected by the violence English media loves to focus on & suspect a lot of the problems stem from USA meddling

I supervise a lot of immigrants, the majority are problematic and less productive than the local population. This is all about universities making bank and corporations paying people less, nothing more. A country doesn't need immigrants, it needs a financially stable and safe environment to raise children that will become the productive workforce and innovators.

Canada needs immigration and a lot of it to support the tax base and pay for retiring boomers pensions. Those international students pay a lot to study here and Universities depend on that funding as government funds dry up.

I came to Canada 4 years ago as an International Student and now have been working for 2 years. We as international student spent almost all our fortune to study in Canada and work for Canadian companies after graduation. A lot of my engineering majors are also working for government project to build more houses. Therefore, if people are working together on this, Canada could even thrive more given we are the second largest country in the world.

It is actually so hard to understand for me. I don’t wanna sound rude of self agrandizing but I came to Canada as a Latin American international student, fluent in English and French, with an engineering degree and a master’s in Finance and a lot of years of experience working in Fintech and My visa application was HARD!, I had to proof everything and save a lot of money and all that.\n\nI see however, other fellow international students and wonder: “How the hell did they got here?”. Little to no English, no funds, no degrees, studying useless programs in garage colleges.

In Winnipeg we have a lot\nAll they do is try to make trouble.\nNo boundaries.\nTry so hard to get five inches in your personal space. All for a reaction.

There are solutions but too much red tape… use tiny homes. There’s a lot of green-space on many campuses. Just think smaller, students only need a warm place and a bed. No need to build condo buildings that won’t be finished until five years from now

“Most productive”. I believe so… I went to school with some people from Indian and they were incredible, very smart and studious. I loved them… but we should NEVER forget to put Canadians first. I know a lot of moms with older kids who are sending their children to study in Europe or in the US, because they can’t get a spot in Canadian universities. They were all born and raised here… :( Canadian are becoming “international students” abroad themselves because they can’t find a space here. This has to stop. \n\nThese people are just drying ice with a towel… bringing tons of international students and leaving our own behind will backfire, wait..it already has ?

Lots of useless colleges. The security guards in my condo are studying logistics. Some work for Amazon delivery. Others are flipping pizzas. And if you go to the grocery stores at certain times, they are pulling goods. Dollarama has lots sorting goods (they say this is a Canadian company).

As an American I have constantly heard how much better Canada is than the US. But I noticed a lot of things going on in Canada that made me question that narrative. It seems that people overestimated the benefits of Canada and down played the pluses of living in America. They did that in my opinion for ideological reasons because Canada has government healthcare. While healthcare is an important issue it is only one of many people should consider and they should consider them without bias when weighing the pros and cons of a country.

Universities need ask student visas from the government. A university should only get a visa based on the percentage of native students. So UofT that has a lot of Canadian students will get approved for more Student visas than a no name college with very little Canadian students.

Yes, I am a conestoga college student. There are many indian students in the college. Some of them they don't go for study, instead, they went for work. Because of a lot of international students, the shortage of teachers, bad school services, higher tution fee and rental fee. I am not satisfied with my study experience.

Why are we seeing this right now???? Because of media outlets like @CNN telling people to cross the border illegally! Which is a lot more dangerous than letting them come in the right way. These parent are dragging their kids through treacherous lands and waters all because you @CNN told them to come to America

A lot of Indian students coming back from Canada have told me horror stories about sleeping on park benches and nearly starving to death because housing and food is so expensive. They literally kiss the ground when they come back to India. Thank God I never immigrated to shithole Canada.

I think that in the situation that Gaza is in, a lot of refugees would want to leave whether they think this land belongs to them or not... The Arab world simply does not care about them because they are not rescuing them from the dangerous place they are in

I'm only halfway through but feel I need to comment and well I'm not exactly a new Canadian. But I was born the but grew up in New Zealand. And well why not . I moved over there in 2014 with full rights as a citizen. My trade wasn't recognised. Canada has its own rules about everything. You need to have training to pour drinks in a bar wtf.! But yea I came wanting a better life and well thankfully I wound up in Calgary so eventually I had the money to leave. And come home where know having seen the Canadian shit show I'm killing it here. It saddens me and yes I was that asshole that got trudeau on there cos I seen one rousing speech where he invoked his dad Pierre. And I fell for it. And not to lie I look old Canadian so I fit right in English is my first language and all that. And funnily enough it was the first time in my life where I could say fucking immigrants. It's a brutal place a brutal work climate and well there's a lot that's nice but when it's bad it's dog ear dog. I feel really sad about what's happening, all the mass illegal immigration and yet your a criminal for noticing it. A lot is very wrong, don't get me wrong nz is doing all the same shit too. I went to Canada for prosperity and to change my life lesson I learnt was go home ans do better and that's fucked.

A lot of people that live in Gaza are held hostage to the Hamas, and they may want to leave Hamas for a better life. Just like many people migrate around the world for a better future. By not allowing the Palestinians to seek refuge, they are only forcing them to suffer because of Hamas.
