The shame on the Canadian justice system for taking this long to make this move. Think how the families feel having this over their heads for this amount of time. I have no faith in the Canadian Government or Justice system, this is a broken country that puts offenders first with no regard for victims.

What a bunch of hateful trolls on here. Yes he made a big mistake. He owned up to it. He will be a good citizen for years to come in Canada. And for those who lost love ones in that crash. Is it going to make you feel better, will you get on with your lives, will you be happier because he got deported. Maybe forgive the man. Release that anger that is bottled up in you. Sending this guy back to his own country isn't a punishment. He needs a fresh start, and that start cannot happen as long as he remains in Canada.

AS a one time immigrant (and now a 20+ year citizen) of Canada I would say that this decision is JUST and should have been done long time ago.

People from India have a long, strong history in Canada due to their strong allegiance to the Queen and monarchy. They have never caused problems. If their churches thrive it's because they actually go to church whilst Canadians let theirs go to to waste. As an Indian these so called students were dumb to leave India where growth is taking place and go to Canada, I think in long run it is good if a few get dissed. This is too much all at once ...Canada knew it had a shrinking aging population last century..plenty of time to have a gradual tapered immigration. Having too many come in at the same time is just plain dumb when the country was not ready with all social services and housing . Honestly as a life long Canadian if I can find a better place to live I will move there...never thought I would say that.

Bro, you should be on the Government's back for bringing in International students and workers when the Government should be trying to hire from within the country...the entire program is an agenda by the government to grab money from foreigners and create chaos in the long run. as someone who grew up in BC canada, I can give many more vital reasons its absolutely awful here. \n\n1) Poor health care: everyone thinks Canada is so great for free health care. Be ready to wait up to 12 hours in hospitals to be seen for 5 mins. Also, my aunt passed away from waiting on breast cancer surgery in BC.\n\n2) Poor infrastructure: Roads here have been the same since 1960s, but now we have millions more people. Rush hour traffic is insanity in vancouver and toronto.\n\n3) Inefficient roadwork: Road construction can take up to 10 years, they close the road and leave it, I rarely seen people work on it and it causes far more traffic\n\n4) government promotes laziness: My friend who is a doctor works 2 days a week, why? because why would he work more at far lower pay? it all goes to taxes anyways\n\nI can give many more reasons but this is getting too long

We were paying $950 for a decent sized 2 bedroom apartment on the 3rd floor near downtown Mississauga.....that was in 2012 after i left.... those days are long gone.

I think everybody’s overreacting reason is that everything has been done for a reason, nothing is ever done from governments that doesn’t benefit in the long run. 20-30 patients a day is a lot?! In Taiwan, a doctor is expecting to see 100 patients on a daily basis. Maybe that's why seeing a doctor takes so long in Canada as you have pointed out?!

After 911 I went to the CAF recruiting Center in Mississauga. I was born in Canada in 71, but went to university at The Ohio state university from 91 to 95. Since in lived outside Canada within 10 years for more than a year I needed to wait for DHS in the US to do a background security check on me…a Canadian. I retired from CAF in 2017, after 12 years of service….do the math on when, and therefore, how long, it took me to join. Go Canada. Now we recruit non citizens to out CAF? Why have most of us left CAF? Why can’t I recommend that anyone join?

My only thoughts is Now a days, ONLY INDIAN's are hired everywhere, such as Tim hortons,security,best buy Banks,Senior Care agency,100 % ALL Canadian Business Sectors are ALL INDIANS, where are the Diverse culture,when only INDIANS are hired. Such as in Tim hortons, All will be INdIANS, All the Agencies have a INdians in Human resources and they hires only Indians. Indians are hired in 7 days after coming to Canada, everything is negotiaged from Upper level,thats their statement.For us, canadian citizens,in 2011, we had to wait 7 long moths for work permit and we were not allowed to work.Some according to my friends,only Indians'are hired,people who are canadian citizens had to wait in big line for a job. Indian dont have to wait just coming here after 7 days, they get job or hired. If one Indian's work in one office,there will be 10 Indians next week. Where are the Diverse culture now?

Biggest countries flocking to Toronto, Nigerians, Ukrainians and Indians. \n\nThey are equally dominating a lot of industries here more than Canadian born people. It’s quite interesting but I think is because Canadians were spoiled for a very long time. Now almost majority of Canadians are dealing with crab in the bucket syndrome. Everyone is fighting for a chance because they are forced too now. \n\nCanada can’t keep up with trudumbs mistakes and time is ticking. The great divide and gap between the rich and the poor is closing in, immigrants have a mentality that will make them successful over lazy Canadians. \n\nThink about the lack of Canadian owned companies by people who were actually born here… name them all… I’ll wait.

Frankly, as long as people have homes, eat, and live comfortably, the rest is a luxury. We can simply enjoy our beautiful nature and live in peace. Life is not about crazy work or having a lot of money. I hope the government can find a way for people to live comfortably without destroying nature to extract energy.

Starting in 2001 it took me 5 years and a long series of bureaucratic hoops to jump through to get Canadian citizenship. I’m originally from the UK and had a PhD in neuroscience and was doing post-doctoral research. I’ve since had a long teaching career in colleges and am proud to have given something back to my adopted country. It now seems that Canada allows almost anyone entrance, with little rational objective or consideration for the Canadian workforce or culture.

This is a Trudeau government mess that the Liberal/NDP coalition created and they are now furiously backpedaling.\n\nShame on them and the harm they are creating for raising unrealistic expectations of international students.\n\nMany of these students families have invested large amounts of money and incurred financial hardships in order to send a family member abroad to study.\n\nOne must count the cost on all fronts as a government before implementing an open door policy of this kind.\n\nIndia Canada diplomatic relations are already on a wobbly footing. This lack of foresight and long-term planning will not aid the relationship going forward.

Why admit students to diploma courses? Why charge $50,000 to them for shitty courses? Why make education a business? Why make PR a business? \n\nCanadians are not at fault, nor are students, its the government who brought in 1 MM students in a year without any infrastructure or long term plan.

Wasn't that long ago when I was an exchange student to Canada that I wasn't allowed to work at all, had to live on campus, have x amount of money in an account controlled by the Uni and had to gtfo by a certain time. Not sure why these guys feel they are entitled to work or stay in the country.
