Every single DQ A&W grocery store McDs etc jobs go to foreigners. So where will all the high school kids work? They are becoming despondent and depressed. It's really sad. For the kids born here and the kids that got told bs there would be plenty of jobs. It's just wrong!!!? I'm highly concerned for the kids. Canada is sliding into a toilet. It also appears that you are at the back of the list if you are born here and God forbid too white. So what is the deal with all these Walmart's etc hiring only foreign people ? It's not to give the kids of Canada a start and a chance. It must have some reason that is going to destroy the country because when a local high school student has to compete with ,300 foreigners for a low paid job this is not going anywhere good. It is extremely distressing. Just resign and incorporate Canada into India or somewhere because it's not Canada anymore.

I have lived in canada my whole life. \nHere are the main hurdles:\n1. Cost of realestate and cost of living. You need white collar wages just to be able to rent, not buy, rent an apartment in most major cities. Cost of homes is insane as well.\n2. Jobs often pay low wages below what is needed to afford to live unless its white collar or trades working overtime hours. The jobs that do pay well often get hundreds of applications making your chances lower.\n3. Dentists cost an arm and a leg. The cost of it is insane unless you have a really good coverage plan from your job. \n4. Healthcare moves at a snails pace. Not good if you have a serious illness or disease.\n5. The climate overall sucks. Its not cold. Its ridiculously cold.\n\nMy advice: Be made of money. \nSeriously though, have a huge savings and have a long term financial plan. Getting jobs that pay a living wage here as newcomers here are HARD to get because they always want Canadian work experience. University education from other countries other than the US, UK, or Australia don't count here. Housing prices are so crazy that I just rent a room and six months per year go live in developing countries of Asia. My income in Canada is only 25K as a single retired person. No home. No car. I am a Mexican living in Mexico, I have visited Canada on several occasions and I think it is an excellent place to live. The part I don't understand about this report is: if people are leaving Canada, why is the cost of housing still high? In my opinion, the people who are now leaving Canada realized too late that they cannot afford the standard of living in a country like Canada. The same would have happened if they had emigrated to England, France, the United States or Germany. The phenomenon has more to do with the value of work than with Canada. In the last two decades the value of unskilled work has plummeted, no one can live in a moderately developed country with an unskilled job, to make matters worse, now white collar jobs have also begun to disappear. Society is simply transformed again and the effects of this transformation begin to be noticed first in those countries where life is more expensive.

Most of these negative issues have risen in the last decade and are true...I'm not sure why anyone would want to come here anymore, let alone stay here.
