Hello Dear; My fellow Kenyans do research and read a lot about the Laws and policies of that country before you make a step or move; Outside here; No short cart I am in one country in Europe I did my application for self-employment/ work permit/residence permit\nThen I was told to wait for 7 months - to 1 year for my application to be terminated not in Kenyan but in this county I am currently; After waiting for 1 year, I received an email from the embassy that my application was approved to apply again for a VISA to come and collect my ID = Now am legally in Europe I can move anywhere without fear and also can do any business in Schengen Area, I can go to Kenya anytime I want and come back anytime I want, This country is very rich and productive, peaceful, Clean, life affordable government regulates everything, the population is 8.9+, and the services are top class and are among the top in Europe map, however, you shall never here them shouting. Is about being wise and doing due diligence.. as well as calculating and taking your time. Good things don't come when you rush.

Go to Canada ?? with agent at your risk, all these agents have no clue how life is in Canada, life is expensive, i went there and one bottle of beer is equivalent to 1500 kenyan money

My humble opinion: this is one guy, whose story hasn't even been confirmed yet. People need to not jump into conclusions. I know a Kenyan in Canada doing care jobs and making close to 10k per day when you include overtime. Which job in kenya (formal or informal) is going to pay you even 5k per day without selling your soul to the devil? Once I see scientific research from a reputable source with clear evidence and data that moving to Canada for work is a bad idea, I'll be convinced.

Lynn, this Canada thing is a common sense thing. Same reason a Tanzanian will not come to kenya to sell tomatoes on the streets due to high competition on the field. Any country you move to it depends on what you will go to do and who will help you get on your feet. Canada is extremely beautiful and one can prosper extremely well financially compared to kenya BY FAR! But you can’t come from the village and land in Toronto and wait for a job and opportunity to come get you from the airport! Am very honest. I live abroad, in one of the richest countries in the world and believe me, I have seen even their own citizens suffering economically. Why? What are their skills and plans and expectations? I read somewhere, with all the wealth in the world, if all was to be shared equally to every one the universe, the rich will become rich and the poor poor -again. So a kenyan should first plan who they will live with for atleast a year while they get on their feet, put their hustle mood on n be willing to take any jobs, plus get out of the mentality that one must be in a big city! Other places outside cities really have low costs of life and offer more opportunities. Just saying

When you go to a new country, things must be rough at first, personally im in turkey, and i stsyed for a couple of months without a house, people in Canada are just loud, those discouraging others, mostly among kenyans its not good, nigerians stand by each other and that's why they are so many there, kenyans just love discouraging one another, so if you want to try Canada whichever method you use, just go if you are meant to succeed there you will. As a Kenyan living in Switzerland, one of the most expensive countries in the world, i‘d share these thoughts: \n\nDo due deligence. Don’t leave your country without any proper structure of what you are going to do\n2. Once you are there, live within your means. Like for example why should i get a car and incur additional cost when there is cheaper reliable transport system. You must be financially disciplined to be able to survive here.\nAs a matter of fact, I am a PhD student, in the lowest salary bracket, but I am far much financially more stable and liquid than I was as a high school teacher. \nSo do your due deligence and be disciplined. Most people have sold their souls to the devil in the name of living abroad esp canada, us, uk, austraila, germany etc. Let me tell you what they do, they go with visitors visa then go and surrender to government seeking asylum. Lynn, peoples journeys are different and personalized, his decisions and pathway cannot be taken as a standard measure to measure others lives......people have different goals and plans....africans are migrating to where systems work and may be learn a thing or two for home africa...and again this earth is under one God, its big....look where it can work for you and prosper in peace...if doesnt work, move to somewhere else or just go home,,.it isn't a crime.....and sometimes your mindset can free you or enslave you.....

Canadians are smart with procedures, regulations, and laws. Their red tape will make even a qualified doctor give up and turn to be a taxi driver. There is no way you can work in canada without the right papers. People spend years repeating education they completed so as to get certified to work. People may be silent, but canada is one of the most expensive countries on earth. I got a rude shock when I went visiting, and I can assure you to burn your fingers if you go there and assume it's like the USA where you can work jini ya mwamba. People should move out there endure the cold weather remain focused and use it as a stepping stone to work and save up, then they can move back to the warm weather provinces with whatever skills and better knowledge of the country.

I think it's a matter of where someone's blessings are. We have people who go there and are successful and probably live there, we have those who go there maybe for further studies but end up working in their home countries. We have others who don't go there at all they make it in life in their respective countries. There were no real Rent Subsidies in Toronto like in New York though as the City was not meant for Foreign Nationals to Scam Rent Subsidies out of the Government. Toronto is getting to be that way as Hollywood Royalty is all Canadians who grew up in Richmond Hill and were working as Government Staff. There was a need to keep the Racketeering in check so Homeless Shelters were offered instead in Toronto by the City. Southern Ontario is ugly as F**k, I was born here and have seen all the woodlands marshes and especially small streams and creeks disappear over the past 50 years. You have to drive a fair distance north to find an appealing landscape even driving to Niagra falls is a big disappointment now that it has become a giant shi*hole of overcrowded tikky takky shops and motels.Everyone thinks Canada is this huge country with tons of beautiful spaces to live while in reality 75% of the country is uninhabitable for farming or houseing which is shown in the rates of low inhabitants living farther north. 90% of Canadians live within a 1 to 2 hour drive of the U.S border for a reason because there is very little livable places to live in Canada if you don't want to live like an Eskimo. There are vast amounts of places to visit in the north in the summer time but to visit not to live. That leads to the question of why is Canada incentivizing peoples from more tropical climates to immigrate to a nation that is frozen 6 or 7 months a year which i think can lead to a lot of immigrants dealing with depression, its hard enough for the people born here but thats never discussed for fear of imprisonment by the government The government had 2 choices to which way to go in this country, the first was to find a way to pay for all the older citizens through CPP and OAS payments in the next 25 years which ment higher taxes and less money for the elderly citizens and the 2nd was mass very mass immigration to pay for these programs and in doing so turned the country into a place where no one can find a doctor no one can find or afford a place to live,cities have become overcrowed because they were not given the time to adjust thier infrastrutures to deal with all the new people and voila you have a giant shithole of a country.

I currently pay $734.96 per month for my bachelor apartment in Parkdale, Toronto. All inclusive. I found the place in 2015, and it started at $660.00 per month. It's a smaller building where I know most of my co-tenants. Quiet neighbourhood most of the time. I've been one of the lucky ones for sure. I love this city! I'm from Peterborough and I will never move back. Some of the best memories of my life have been here. But you're right Alina, it has changed. Much like most other major cities in the world. The economic hardships being the #1 issue. Rent going up, wages staying the same, and inflation not slowing down. But with Toronto, the transit system is far behind the progress of cities like New York. Toronto should have multiple subway lines going east and west. Queen St. and Dundas lines for sure. The overall culture of the city is not as vibrant as it was during the 2010s. That could be Covid related. Or things are taking awhile to come back to pre-Covid form. But a lot of great venues and restaurants have been shutting down. And being replaced with the construction of condos. The real estate is insane here. It feels like things have gone downhill since the Raptors won the NBA championship in 2019. Because that really united everyone when there were a million people gathered for the parade. I'm hoping things turn around and there's more affordable housing for newcomers. I know I'm staying here for a while longer. Because of my cheap rent. And career attachments to the city. US is far better for individuals who wants to grow and work on themselves. I lived in US for 2 years and I got the best education learned a lot and met one of the most ambitious people. I always was motivated to do more. US boosted my education and career. Unfortunately I couldn’t stay there due to immigration issues. I moved to Canada and I am here for almost 5 years now and I am still struggling just to make ends meet. Every day I am looking for ways to get out of here back to US or elsewhere. Legalization of drugs, prohibitably expensive housing, poor access to health care, lack of availability of well paying jobs, massive intake of immigrants, overtaxation and fewer businesses opportunities. Canada was great place to live back in 1990s and early 2000s. Everything is going downhill after 2018. Immediately they need to fix immigration, taxation, healthcare, housing, drugs, and support small businesses.Else, Canada will continue to be the place of broken dreams.

I'm a cosmetic surgeon living in Sydney Australia. I'll be totally honest. You can delete my post or you can except the truth.\nI've been too & have friend & colleagues who have migrated to Toronto from Sydney. Toronto is very similar to Sydney. It has some of the most exspensive housing in the world. Canada & Australia's economy is based on economic growth through mass immigration. The cost of this policy, means you also need to restrict development & zoning regulations to artificially keep properties high. Governments need make your population continually, working as slaves, to pay for basic costs, of a largely welfare dependent society. While your a debt slave, you don't spend your money on foreign products, as you have very little in the way of exsports, to pay for imports. The upside to this, you have many slaves to pay for the never ending welfare, as you have a policy of supporting refugees, single parents & the disabled, over self reliance & responsibility. Mental health issues are largly created by society, they are very rarely genetic. The high cost of living, means, you cant afford families. No strong family ties means, poor mental health issues. When you outsource, what familes once did, like help the the elderly, support your unemployed brother & have children. Replace all what families did with government welfare, instead of families helping each other, replace reproduction with mass immigration. You end up creating enormous problems in society. Problems with mental health & crime.\nNow for your modelling career. In Japan, your a novelty, as you have a different look to the Japanese. However in Canada, for your age what are your best features. You only have one. You have very good skin. However your face shape, is slightly disproportionate, basically, meaning your just an average shape face. You could also work on going to the gym, as your not toned. So basically as a whole, for your age group, your slightly above average, say a 6 out of 10, which is not all that good as 60% of Canada's population are overweight. Now as a model, you need to compete with people who are younger & better proportioned 7,8 & 9's. No such thing as a 10.

All of those condos springing up in Toronto are IMMEDIATELY scooped up by investors for rental or just sit empty for investment. Maybe only 10% are purchased by owners who actually live in them. This is just ONE of the problems going on. Furthermore, many condos are scooped by foreign or corporate investment or their extended family to get around rules.

As long as the government continues to promote unsustainable population growth rates, the highest in the G7 at this point, the quality of life in our major cities is only going to get worse. I recently visited Toronto on a business trip for the first time living in Montreal. I loved Toronto it is a great potential city. However, I saw drug addicts on the streets, homeless people at every corner I walked in, it is very expensive and on top of that I was harassed by a group of homeless drug addicts in one of its streets. I am lucky I had friends that told me where to go and not to go later. But as a new visiter you want to explore the city and enjoy your time and see what the city can offer you. I totally agree with what you said. It would only get worse as more and more flux into the city without any managing criteria regarding housing, jobs and life in general.

I have to agree with you the 401 Corredor west of Toronto to Kitchener Waterloo is very overpriced for housing if one is going to move to the ? such as Hamilton Kitchener Waterloo Guelph North out of the city towards Barrie Ontario everything is overpriced housing food once you’re out of metropolitan area yyourddependedon a private vehicle i.e. a car to get around

At least from what I have seen in Ghana, people are starting businesses.\n\nI am going to say something I observed about Ghana. I found out that women, as usual, are more hard-working. I realised that the men don't have work because they are lazy or have too much pride. I have watched so many videos where so many business owners complain about the ineffectiveness and inefficiencies of the workers. They are not dedicated when they work for other people. I watched these business owners whose workers in the farms are mostly women, and they were very happy that women are easier to control and have good work ethics as opposed to men. The men prefer jobs where they don't use their energies such as Yahoo Yahoo boys, selling in shops where they don't touch anything or lift a finger.\n\nGrowing up, we knew that men were supposed to do the hard-working jobs in society. But these days, men like to idle around and touch nothing. The reasons being that the African culture teaches us that men are not supposed to do anything at home. They are supposed to be served by women. Then, instead of the men going out there to do the hard work and make the money, they wait around expecting cushy jobs that don't make them lift a finger.\n\nLook at China that you mentioned. These boys work absolutely hard. Even in the villages. Look at Muslim countries. You will never see women working on the streets. The men are even the ones who cook the food on the streets and sell. Check countries like Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka. In Africa, most things are done by women.\n\nAll this japa that people are fighting for. Have we ever thought of the agenda of these people needing free and cheap labour? I came to realise that we stupid Africans don't yet understand. Our children eventually become strangers, and we remain just surrogate parents. Most of our children are never going back to Africa, and when they get to an age, they become like strangers to us. Whatever we say, they look at us like archaic. What then makes them Africans anyway. We have seen so many of them who barely know their countries of origin and have never ever been there. They do not know their relations. In fifty years' time, that generation has lost their roots, and was that our intentions initially? This all dawned on me recently with my children, and I feel absolutely dejected because they are not interested in our country. All my hard work is gone down the drain, and all that can happen is for us to leave our children behind and live like people who never had children in the first place. For now, most people see it like something to be proud of, and are happy to say ( my children live abroad). Africans are the most stupid people I know, and that is why we are always used for slave labour. Why are they all approving all these visas and allowing all these people to drown at sea? \n\nThese countries allow these fake visas deliberately because they drain African countries to enrich their own since they can't get the minerals easily these days.

Doug Ford is the one to blame of all this mess in Toronto when he removed rent control in the province. That gave developers and landlords the edge to put us on the housing crisis we are here now. Hi Alina! Great video and very informative. Never been to Toronto but would like to visit it maybe for a week or two one day. The things that are going on in Toronto are also going on in most all of our US cities now as well and it's just a shame.

To state the obvious, as long as housing demand greatly outstrips housing supply, the cost of living will remain ever challenging. Mixing basic human rights (like having a roof over one's head) with a profit incentivizing vehicle like real estate is...a bad mix, and will always be. But, hey, the world runs on making money and always has (but it does seem to be getting out of hand these days), so, what can you do? Go see a therapist and try to get a good night's sleep (if you're fortunate enough to have a roof to sleep under).

Every man deserves the right to feed himself and house himself. When we deprive any human being of that natural right, things like this occur. No one should be begging for a job to sustain themselves. It should be our RIGHT to work. As a planet, we need to address this issue. Everybody would be fine in their own country if their natural right to work to LIVE wasn’t stripped away from them. Same as the United States. We shouldn’t be begging anyone to work for money. I’ve been living in Montreal my whole life, coming from a family with a very modest revenue. For my parents, buying a house was already well out of the equation going back 25 years. I’m now 22 years old and, for one buying real estate is not even worth thinking about, but the rental market so out of hand too that I can’t even see myself renting an apartment alone for the foreseeable future. The average rent for a one bedroom apartment is more than half my monthly earning and moving off the island can’t save me because what I’ll save on rent will be spent on living expenses and a car/license (which I don’t have). It really feels hopeless out here at times
