As an Indian immigrant myself who came here many years ago, I completely agree. Canada was very different back then. Businesses want cheap labor and politicians want future voters, hence the immigration scam. All the more reason to push for automation and eliminate low skilled jobs. Otherwise keep importing large numbers from the 3rd world and turn Canada into a 3rd world country.

Inflation is higher than what they say.. real estate prices are out of touch with the actual wages and salaries.. cost of food is unbelievable… rent is ridiculous.. I am an international student, just wanted to ask Canadian people, why target international students, i am from India, i can guarantee that any Indian student coming to Canada brings at least 100k investment that directly gets used by the Canadian economy. My problem is why target us rather you guys should look for people who are coming to this country like refuse and use candian tax payer money and get all the benefits Canada offers, but us on the other hand we pay taxes like normal citizen. Just ask this question to each and everyone.

The current immigration politic will doom Canada to have many small countries in the country as they struggle more and more in Europe. Receiving immigrants at a higher pace that our integration capacity will obviously lead to major social conflicts and chaos. Trudeau is an empty shell that does not want to see the reality.

It's a double edged sword. The industry (fast food, food retailing, services) WANT those people, be it international students, refugees or other to work because there is insufficient response from the local population of young people. Even certain restaurants and hotels had to remain CLOSED after the pandemic, because they could not find enough people to work. The government covid money dissuaded the local population from working. It is a huge mistake to admit so many Indian students attending low-credentialed private colleges and then allow them to work 20-30 hours a week. Trudeau and Miller are to blame for this. But at the same time, there was a labour shortage due to the ageging population and the fact that people have fewer kids today. Canada should give greater priority to trained professionals in areas where there is a need, such as construction, education and nursing. People in India, China, eastern Europe and other countries can get very good training in technical colleges, but it is the wealthy families in these countries that don't want their kids working these jobs.

There's a job shortage not a labour shortage.There are millions of unemployed and under employed people that would love to fill high paying jobs and trades but can't due to bureucratic barriers.Ask the doctor driving a cab in toronto or the lady with a masters degree who makes your latte.Companies should train people not pawn that off to the college's.The myth is these low to no slilled immigrants are supposed to generate wealth for Canada yeah? Even technology and you can grow food yourself, also learn for others and continue to help others. Small gardens and notice that they are really being helped, new courage means hope and continue to help others, get involved in systems and pass on good knowledge. Whether drones or small robots, free energy and power. Don't help here and there. It is your own people that you are making to suffer and are making excuses and hypocrites of Jesus? Finally, really help yourself and, above all, yourself and the systems and keep your eyes open - all the technology you need is there and it's not expensive anymore. The excess production destroys the market but creates these unlimited possibilities to help poor people in systems. The Palestinians seem to be the only Arab people who rather stay in a war zone than flee to a safer place, like a neighboring country or even Europe. All the Syrians in Turkey or the EU are obviously just cowards OR he is talking complete BS, and every human being wants to flee a war and bring himself and his loved ones to a safe place. Ok... Toronto and Vancouver is a very small part of Canada... they are not the whole Canada... I understood the struggles but there are lots of places in Canada is what we say livable... Hey Im alone here in Edmonton... i pay mortgage,,, i pay bills,,, i pay debts,,, i support my family back home,,,, i buy whatever i want and most of all,,, i only have one job... and look!!! Im surving for 14 years now alone... Struggles should be dealt with willingness to do what is necessary,,, hardwork and resiliency not quitting... you will still have to work hard whether you go back home or go somewhere else... at least here in Edmonton,,, you're hard work is rewarding unlike most of the countries around the world...

I met some of these people in Thailand after COVID. There was a small group of Chinese who kept to themselves at our hostel. One day I overheard them in Chinese repeatedly talking about my country Mexico which got me to talk with them. They were quite happy to learn I could speak Chinese but more excited to learn I was from Mexico. They started asking me a bunch of questions about crossing the border into the US to which I bluntly told them I had no idea about and discouraged it. I asked where they got these crazy ideas from and they said that people were posting videos and tutorials of how to cross into the US online. The Chinese government hard handed approach to COVID was what made them leave. They wanted to go both for the freedom and economic benefits but they had a very naive and overly optimistic view of the US. They saw the high wages US workers were making but had no idea as to the incredibly high living costs associated with living there. I tried explaining that there was a housing shortage and that their expectations for life in the US would set them for disappointment but they either didn't believe me or brushed off my criticism. I also tried encouraging them to go to German or Australia instead (places which I feel would be better and easier for them to enter) but they seemed dead set on just going to the US. Unfortunately I don't know where they are now as Wechat is blindly and constantly blocking and deleting accounts in SE Asia without reason......................

This country sucks now. It used to be a great country, now everything has gone up the roof and the usual suspect (salary) hasn't moved an inch..Taxes, Housing expenses, winter, not sure why anyone in their right mind would want to come here..

Yeah it's not just immigrants it's also born here Canadians. We are tired of the state of country, our lack of freedom and democracy, our failing healthcare and healthcare facilities, laughable education system, lack of infrastructure for new comers and Canadians alike. No party in Canada, neither Liberal, Conservative, NDP and Green, no one really represents Canadians and really listens to the public. We learned there is NO future here for us or our family. We're done with a country that I pay taxes too, believed in, it's not my fault that I have to leave, it's CANADA and decades of bad policies, investing in wars instead of our home and people. Trudeau spent more time demonizing anti-vaxxers and truckers and funding Ukraine rather then helping starving Palestinians and Congolese people, families struggling here locally to feed their family, kids are who aren't getting a proper education, elderly unable to pay for their medicine or food. We are all suffering because no one in our govt wants to actually help our country get back on track. So our govt is essentially pushing us OUT. We don't want to leave, we have no choice.

I've got a Canadian PR and went to see the country in October. As IT professional I find it hard to get a job, earnings- expenses ratio is not really favorable. So I stay in Armenia and work for Russian companies. Salaries are booming and hrs are looking for candidates. \nNot to say about tech stack that is more adavanced in general\n\nCanada muat do something with its system. I dont want to live without free access to medical services, I dont wanna beg some company to hire me to a lower position and pay crazy rent.

I have lived in canada my whole life. \nHere are the main hurdles:\n1. Cost of realestate and cost of living. You need white collar wages just to be able to rent, not buy, rent an apartment in most major cities. Cost of homes is insane as well.\n2. Jobs often pay low wages below what is needed to afford to live unless its white collar or trades working overtime hours. The jobs that do pay well often get hundreds of applications making your chances lower.\n3. Dentists cost an arm and a leg. The cost of it is insane unless you have a really good coverage plan from your job. \n4. Healthcare moves at a snails pace. Not good if you have a serious illness or disease.\n5. The climate overall sucks. Its not cold. Its ridiculously cold.\n\nMy advice: Be made of money. \nSeriously though, have a huge savings and have a long term financial plan. Getting jobs that pay a living wage here as newcomers here are HARD to get because they always want Canadian work experience. University education from other countries other than the US, UK, or Australia don't count here. Be prepared to live very humbly unless you are just made of money.\n\nI dont even want to live in canada anymore. I am almost 40 and have very little to show for it despite working full time jobs with overtime my whole life. Looking at going almost anywhere but here. The housing crisis and cost of living are the dealbreakers for me. You shouldnt need to be making $75k/year just to afford to RENT a decent apartment. Theres something wrong here.

This country has become trash. This used to be the place to go. Now we get third world trash and the good people we want here have no interest

There are regular workers who walk this road into the country every day as well. This is very disruptive to them with their jobs. People will be trampled under foot and they don't care. They just keep coming. The only importance to them is where they want to go.

Like me, I already want to move back. Canada was overglamorized. I think I'm just gonna finish my post grad work permit and move back home. At least there, housing is still within my reach. It's rare people doesn't own homes. You can grow food in your backyard. Can live without debt in any way if you choose as we dont rely in mortgages and credit cards or credit scores.\n\nCanada is good in pictures, but not totally in real life. And what I realized is every country has issue in corruption, government, capitalism etc. There's no perfect country, might as well, just have an almost perfect life with loved ones.

If israel really want to save the people of palestine by leaving their land then why they dont welcome the palestinian in israel for some moment of time untill tge war end..... this is all agenda to remove the people of palestine and force them to live their remaining life in other countries as a refugee

Because we do not have the resources to keep them here, we don't have the housing or the health care resources.
