28-year-old Female Sydneysider from Australia here. Apologise in advance for the long post and rambling.\n\n\nNot sure if it is just me, so please correct me if I am wrong. Just probably now too overly 'realistically too cynical'. So please take my input with a grain of salt. 

For context’ sake, for most of my adulthood I have always been poor & I am born with special health needs (E.g. disabilities).
\n\n\nSometimes on forums we are often contrasted to Canada, for some reason. Both Canada and Australia have remarkably similar problems with a different coat of paint. Sydney, for instance, has always been high up in the list of the cities with the highest cost of living in the world. Usually within the top 10-20. 

COVID-19 obviously made this issue clearer in some circumstances because we couldn't 'work' at all. Unless you were an essential service worker, to mentally block out personal and local difficulties.\n\n\nWe still have not recovered from that 2–3 years global shutdown. The only reason I was allowed to work for a period was because I work for the animal industry and aid in animal welfare. 

I still lost my job due to COVID-19 regardless and knew I would never get a decent job again. Merely just the last poor sod on the boat to be thrown off. 

Could not become a vet nurse despite working very hard. Just because no one wants to give me '2-years permanent paid experience’ to be taken seriously. 

At the same time, way too many employers will happily take 2+ years of veterinary students volunteering at their vet clinic. With the vague promise of a permanent job.

Which, of course, never happens, then say we are being too demanding or spoilt for politely asking for said job.\n\n\nHow are we supposed to pay off our student debt if any financial service expects us to have a per meant job to pay anything off??

 No, they do not want to train nor help you. They just want free labour, then kick you out once your time is up. All my jobs have been casual, and my animal industry has already become heavily casual based ages ago. Permanent job is like looking for a magical unicorn.\n\n\nSo, even if you and your relatives lived in the way outer suburbs of Sydney for decades, being typically considered roughly lower-middle socio-economic families. 

The younger adults and kids all know and have been aware for years, they have no future at all due to having an inflated cost of living. Sugar-coating it, saying it might go in a positive direction, sounds like a blatant lie. We all know it is a lie.\n\n\nNowadays, in contrast to the late nineties and early 2000s when I was just a tiny naive kid that didn't know any better. There seems to be a more jarring split between the income brackets of what the country assumes who is poor, middle class or rich today. 

\n\nBy today's standards, my family is no longer even considered close to the very lower end of the middle class if you were reaching hard. We are considered 'poor' just because my parents do not earn roughly $50,000 — $150,000 AUD a year on their own in 2023. Wouldn’t want any kid to be born in a world where there are no safe guarantees for their future if their guardian unexpectedly passes away or can longer care for them. 

When something does not change within roughly 5–10 years, it is more than simply just valid for us to feel like we cannot fix what has been broken.

Take Israeli to live in Canada. They want build a settler.

Lots of place to live in Canada that aren't Toronto/ Vancouver prices. Take a walk on the wild side and go to where your needed instead of where culture and family are. My famliy did it in 1953 and never have never looked back. Had a little bit of pain getting started but ended up in a much better place. Can't imagine living in Vancouver or GTA. Horrible

Take a page from us America. Canada knows how to treat people like people. We don’t call people aliens

Sadly Canada's government markets the country as a utopia for social programs, and garners international support and migration from liberals and people looking to take advantage of loose requirements on such programs. Since this allows the government to get bigger and increase its grift, it only doubles down on this strategic loop, to the detriment of working Canadian citizens

While many will leave Canada for other places many will come here as immigrants, they will struggle tho to buy their house , it might take ten years or more. I bought anew house on nearly 2 Acres in the Philippines, retiring there.

Great video, non political. It’s hard to believe that neither of the large parties in Canada have a plan to mitigate these issues. They’re focused on maintaining their political donations that they barely make contributions. Even with a plan, there is no guarantee that within a 4 year term any politician will be able to impact change with the red tape that every previous government official has added. Decreasing taxes will create an uproar in the government employee. building a department to fight monopolies will require much more tax dollars and time that we don’t have. By the time these changes take place the population will naturally become high income individuals, with low income individuals migrating out of Canada.

The crazy thing is that some Canadians still have faith in Trudeau's party or just have too much trust in the government that they can turn this around. I want to see this country prosper but every few months I just keep on seeing new policies that the current government makes that just doesn't make sense.\n\nFew things to mention\n- No more investment in more roads by the federal government (I understand they want essentially to have citizens use cars less but they haven't provided a plan on how that money would be invested? I have yet to see trains being invested to connect cities such as High speed rail?)\n- Increased carbon taxes (most premiers were against this but they negged it on)\n- proposal and voting for Increasing taxes on capital gains (impact business that invest in Canada)\n- This is a positive thing but also happened because they polls went to the dump (increased investment in housing) and then decrease foreign student admission for future years ( I think this is where liberals say they have hope, but it's at a point where they messed it up and now are trying to fix it to make it look like they are fixing someone else's mess\n- The government is also just adding more policies we can't afford such as Dental plans for certain incomes, food in schools while the free health care doesn't really feel worth the taxes when the quality is not there. ( This is how they want to be the good guys when the conservatives need to cut costs to help resolve this mess)\n\nThe liberals are kind of like that guy in the family that takes a loan, pockets some money for corruption, then gives money away to charities saying I'm the good guy, and then doesn't know how to pay the loan back so asks for their family to help fund the debt.

Just bought a home today in one of the fastest growing cities in Canada… takes a well earning couple and of course can’t buy a starter home as they only make those for retired people, so had to go a lot in debt and have to do all this renovation work to rent out the basement legally or can’t afford the mortgage.. but I believe that things will change but will take time to fix it that’s for sure

This is World wide not just in Canada or America ! Look out side and you will find this is in Every 1st world Country . Because of the monopolizing of everything . @Harrison, there a bunch of holes in your story an thus superficial or lacking, yet has potential to be more Canadian in that you need to differentiate a bit more, attention in the details that you may have missed, votebank, Punjab province certain cluster of uncouth or gang type, instead of drawing in all religions and races and the best educated like how the US does with it, instead of a votebank cluster, that make up only 3% of the Indian population, yet 50% of Brampton, yet Canada is slower to do such. As I hope you know that, in that in Canada a city doesn’t usually choose newcomers directly factors of, ethnocentrism, pricing, etc are.  \n\nIt was or used to be that newcomers in many cases had to move to less populated centres i.e. in Saskatchewan/Manitoba etc, to help make the place more profitable and big as born Canadians usually didn’t want to move there. As your worst nightmare, me Canadian born Indian with a more Canadian accent than yours, yet I speak French yet am from the GTA. You should dig deeper instead of the old squeaky rhetoric repeating, you forget to mention Gurudwaras do have langar known as no charge meal, but you have potential to be known and yet ask people if they or why they are or aren’t willing to integrate. Any colour fair game, aside from asking Ukranian displaced on temporary refugee visa, not bc they are lacking melanin protection, but because their country is unsafe from aggression by a crazy. However, social programs are missing or drug users not willing to take up a program for various reasons. Maybe through proper fact checking, explain how India has over 200 ethnic and linguistic communities and why only one group is province, ethnic/attitude is prominent in Canada.  \n\nAlso do explain that there were many that were here in late 1800’s along with Chinese and Irish making railroads dragged over by British, the same British who invaded lands of established native nations people in Canada. Who are suffering from drug and alcohol problems likely tied to psychologic hurt to their fam or poor conditions, not just saying laziness etc.\n\nAlso to the incompetent people who think Indians only eat curry, which curry is largely a British invention, hence the last name in UK of caucasian people (white) of “Curry”, it is fun to laugh at ignorant or stupid people of any ethnic group bc it signals monkey brain intelligence. \n\nAlso, how about report on the alleged Nazi ties of poorly screened or liars who came from Ukraine circa 1940’s, even alleged ties to some poli in Canadia. \n\nGood street level reporting, just focus on facts and non sensationalist approach for a large win and even ethnics who agree with you.

The intro to the video kind of portrayals your biased doesn't it? You introduced the elections and who one and the state of Canada now indicating your biased that all of our problems are takings to political reasons. People are easily swayed with words sometimes opinions should to given lightly with all factors and not just the ones the help your opinion seem correct. You should include historical events that started the housing crisis in Canada. Even your graph only showed a spike of immigration intake but only AFTER covid but you sway the conversation to think the intake was so different when even your graph shows it stayed the same till covid. Number of those facts would have been more convincing to strengthen your opinion. Numbers are nice but not when it's placed in again, places that help make your opinion correct. In that case, only one side of the story and most facts are hidden this way. I enjoy the pictures though, nice editing. Lots of videos makes it more engaging and not lose people's interest

Indian students are the largest international student group in Canada, contributing about $10.2 billion to the Canadian economy in 2022 yes thats right, you people get these studnets make money of them and support your lives, and on other hands you have soft corner to those who are muslis come there take their homes your culture and womens ha ha ha gr8 now no more indians studnts coming there and you are filled with all depended you got there for free

Something wrong with the migration policy in Canada. It’s either all the subcontinent migrant just concentrate one specific location in Canada or the intake is based on non bias application first in first out. In Australia although the policy is not perfect but we do take in migrants according to the ratio of population of migrant country and of course plus other courses like skills, family etc and generally this will not course favour extreme bias-ness of one nationality

international students should come to Canada with enough money to support themselves, yet they do not. They are not supposed to be taking jobs and using food banks for citizens

As a immigrant who recently got Canadian citizenship, I would like to clear few things here. I noticed that the host of the show has some wrong perception in his mind for international students. I agree that the basic jobs should be allocated to the young population or elderly population and international student should sustain themselves, but on the other hand why don't' the colleges charge the same fees that they charge to domestic applicants ?...the international students pays 5X to 10X the fees that the local student pays for the same courses. Also, when the student applies for visa they already pay 20000K to a Canadian bank for the future monthly payments that they will get so sustaining is not a problem. most of these students work so that they can contribute to the 5X fees that they have to pay. Also, when it comes to skill, the students skills are assessed by the universities and colleges and only after that they come to Canada. If you see an immigrant working in Tim Hortons or Food basics, don't worry he will be out of there in 2 years to a high paying skillful job that local population won't do. Now, when I say all this the immigration problem is real, but it is not because of the student who comes here, pays higher fees and than work in Canada, pay higher taxes and contribute to GDP and economy. your problem is with refugees and immigrants who are brought in mass immigration, who does not have skills. Because this is the population which you brought with to match the labor shortage but can not work so you provide them subsidies, assistance etc. and dig a hole in government funds...…now for the host he seems to have an agenda against Indian immigrants in particularly. I don't mind that though we are used to it. I don't hate him but can he make a video for other countries as well ? how Many Chinese students who didn't even past the language test come to Canada to study and drives expensive cars even without working a single day ? how you bring a immigrant under refugees status from any country to match labor shortage, but who also has 5-7 kids which means you get 1 guy benefiting Canada with 5-7 person who will take benefit from Canada?.....

The Carbon Tax on gas in Canada TOOOOTALLY makes sense, but ONLY when we have viable alternatives for driving across all driving distances at all times. Which we do not. New transit projects are always faced with pushback and slowdowns from within the government itself even, and our zoning laws make it so we can only have single family detached homes which sprawls everything so far out that driving is the ONLY realistic transit method. \n\nThis carbon tax does nothing, the reason you implement one on gas is to persuade people into taking an alternative transportation method if you can, OR to source funding for transit programs so that people can ACTUALLY HAVE the option of an alternative. But in Canada? You already know that money is only going to go into maintaining and adding lanes to roadways.

We moved to Canada 20 plus years ago. I was young and didn't mind it now I am 42 years old. Especially the last 12 years I m start to think why should I go this torture. I'm taking a lot of vacation just to skip the system. Yes I'm brown guy the hassle not worth it. All you said so true, but there is more to it hidden about the statesco. Boring doesn't even describe it about Canada. That's why people live in their own community not segregated but people are living in groups. And take a lot of vacations.

I don't agree that North American cities are all ugly just like not all European cities are all that beautiful. Go to Rome, Naples Athens and you will see how dirty and run down these cities are. And no Vancouver is not nicer than Chicago.\n\n I think the mindset here in Canada especially Ontario is not the best. Everyone is all about going to work and just isolating. In Europe it's much more vibrant. People want to go out and socialize a lot more. Here it's basically work and home. Not much else.\n\n If things were good here economically all these points would take a back seat and most people would tolerate them. But when rent is $2000 plus. Wages are barely going up etc..etc..than everything else starts to grate on you.

The Liberal party has turned Canada into sh*thole. Canada was built on immigrants but the system has been completely overloaded and taken advantage of. Refugees are being housed in hotels wracking up hundreds of millions in costs. And the international student loophole has been completely abused. Before Canada would allow highly skilled / educated immigrants to esteemed universities. Now we let in double the students and most of them are in diploma mills which they get out of and end up taking up every unskilled labour position, pushing thousands of Canadians to the street and making it to where kids can’t even get summer jobs. And letting in this massive increase of immigrants has only made our housing situation even worse. We’re building half the homes than people we’re allowing in. The whole thing is a sh*t show

In 2004 I wrote a somewhat famous article called 'Top 8 reasons not to immigrate to Canada'. In short, the Canadian authorities tried to destroy my life. They made it so that I could not be employable in Canada. So I moved to the U.S. in 2005 and then some years later I moved permanently to the Philippines. I am happy that so many years later videos like yours are saying essentially the same things that I did. I was ahead of my time. I will never go back to Canada. Not to live, not to visit, not even a connecting flight. Too cold, too expensive, taxes are astronomical, no culture, no freedom, no jobs, no opportunities, only modern slavery, worst healthcare system, unbearable political correctness, crime infested/drug infested, xenophobic people, too depressing. You need to find out why our doctors left and who caused it.?the same people who gives drugs to the addict. The Spanish who discovered the America and brought Dollar to America..

They will take over Canada, it’ll take time but it’s going to happen. And all in a bid to get re-elected, one person should not have that much power…and basically destroy what was once the envy of the world. It’s hard to watch unfold…the level of disrespect, arrogance, ignorance and rudeness from many (not all) is hard to stomach. Just glad I was raised in the 70’s/80’s…such a great era !!!

Canada only wants the best immigrants, no poorly educated or old people please. Oh but they will take people loaded with lots of money and who want to open a business.

Don’t blame the Indians or the Government for destroying Canada. Blame Feminism. Women don’t want to have children or multiple children anymore. This is taking place in all Western countries. Giving women the vote was the start of this Great Western Civilization decline. Nothing against women but their role in society was ordained by the creator. A female lion does not question her role no matter how unfair in may seem on the surface

This is not just a thing in Canada. Somehow it seems it's ok to be racist to Indians in many western countries because the system doesn't do anything about it. It's almost like they are jealous of Indians and has to take it out through this type of ill behaviour.

Quite frankly, if the government isn't going to take action, then it's up to Canadians to spread the word worldwide of the horrors of Canada to at least try and disincentive more people from coming.
