I'm Indian but not born in India for 3 generations and even in my country, the Indian/Paki immigrants are just coming in droves. There's a distinct culture difference. The common reasons why Brampton has so many Indians.\n1) Even in India there are 22 official languages, but unofficial 121 languages with over 700 different dialects. In Brampton, the majority are Punjabi and Gujarati. These names first come from the language they speak, later to the Indian State. Each language represents a culture. In India also everyone feels safe within their community because it is human nature to bully someone who doesn't look the same as them. So, they feel safe within the community. This new Woke culture calls it racism and hate, but I think it is a common human nature.\n2) Helping each other to settle in the same community. So, they prefer to land here first and somehow settle in. The government programs for newcomers are just a waste of taxpayers' money.\n3) Closer to the Airport and Public Transportation is not too bad.\n4) A lot of part-time work opportunities for the students and newcomers. (Not the same under Trudeau anymore)\n5) A lot of activities for parents of the immigrants because they can't learn English or Culture at this age.\n6) Indian Food and Grocery are easily available.\n\nIt was not that bad before, but the latest influx of unskilled immigrants and students with the absence of manners has taken it to an unrecoverable level.

So I’m an immigrant who arrived from Poland as a child. What made me quickly integrate and become Canadian was the absence of ethnic enclaves. I grew up in social housing, which sucked, but it was with a tonne of Portuguese, El Salvadorians, Colombians and a few Somalis in my hood. The thing is, there was no dominant group, and thus we all had to live together, communicate in English, and adopt universal values and lifestyles that all those groups had in common, rather than those of my home country. I feel these new generations won’t have that same experience.

They have a formula: buy a franchise(subway), buy a house, sponsee young people by giving them housing and a job and then keep doing it over and over. The family across the street does it. They have moved to Brampton and own 3 (million + dollar)homes in Brampton and the immigration machine is still working in the house across the street.\nThe new immigrants have to pay their sponsee and work it off at the franchise. The people we know are good people but this could easily turn into slavery.

Canada is new india.

When you have a country that has 1.5% rental vacancy rate, and only 150,000 houses are built in a year, and then you bring in 1.4 million new immigrants and foreign students/temporary workers, you end up with 500,000 or more homeless people each year. If they bring in another million people, the homeless population will simply grow by another million people as there is nowhere for people to rent and no new homes available to buy.

The worse part is that east Indian's purchase all the businesses and then fire the white people. My 7-11 was staffed with white and philipino, than a new east indian manager took over, he would write the staff up for every little issue than fire them and now the whole staff is east indian, they never hire any other race i dont know how they get away with it. The only thing i can do is not support there businesses because they dont support the people that were here first

You are overreacting. The city has so much to offer and all cities have problems but you live with it. I’ve lived with many cities in America that people knock but yet I love them. It’s all about attitude. I walk past homeless people in New York City, but I still enjoy myself. Toronto is a lot better than many American cities that I love

i work in small town in bc...we have lots of transitional contractors and work force members, lots of diversity. i have met people from all over the world and they all claim the nationality of being canadian or a new canadian from whatever country.\ni have also met several people who claim their non canadian nationality while some make quips about how canadian women are supposed to be docile. one guy actually said to me that he doesn't like how i am too strong willed, unlike the girls in the gta who don't do direct eye contact. i deadpanned him and informed him that western girls are different, our western men are good enough to stand beside us when dealing with mental midgets!

I moved from Brampton 10yrs ago to Belleville. My son aged 6 then came home from school and Said dad their no brown people in my class why? That tells you something, BUT now Belleville has become what I call the new bellvadash the last few yrs has tripled to where there is now a East Indian grocery store

One would think learning a new culture when moving to a new country would be something to look forward to. Definitely not the case with Indians.

GTA has alway had areas where immigrant cultures congregate. Little India, Greek Town, Little Italy, China Town, Korea town, little Portugal. Canada needs new tax payers to replace the ageing Baby Boomer population. Who is going to pay into the CPP, OAS and taxes with a decline “Canadian population.”
