I moved to Canada about 17 years ago and yes it is an absolute pain to jump through all the hoops they want you to go through. I was only here a few days and I came from Ireland as a brick and stone mason they recruited me from Ireland and wanted me to come out. Within three days on the job I learned I would be getting less wages than the other bricklayers. I packed up my tools and walked off the job I notified the employer and the union by emails and told him I’d be flying back home in a few days. Well the union and the employers came running straight away to get me to stay. Trying to explain that after a couple of months I’d be on the same money as the rest of the guys. This is where I explain to them that taking home C$1100 was already a pay cut a massive pay cut as are used to take home 2500 to 2200 Euros living in Ireland. I moved to Canada for a change of lifestyle but that doesn’t mean I was going to be taken advantage of. And that’s when they said they would pay me the same as everybody else. Sometimes you just have to stand up for yourself and be willing to follow through. They even reimbursed me for the airline ticket I bought to go back. Some skill sets they really need in this country in addition Canadians population growth is absolutely dependent upon immigration as the family sizes and birth rates are critically to lol to sustained a country. As I’ve said I’ve been living here 17 years now and I am a Canadian citizen I guess that makes me an Irish Canadian now.

If we are studying in another country where we are not the citizen, can we apply for Canadian PR from there?

All very good points and things to consider before moving. I guess some points go for more countries because moving to another culture is hard anywhere. You forgot to mention all the crazy mandates concerning Covid. I know it's everywhere but I have close contact with my sister in Europe and I can say that Canada is going WAY OVERBOARD with the government control on the citizens. Now, (Nov.30) they will refuse unvaccinated residents to leave the country. WHAAAT?

I''m a natural born citizen of Can'tada of Scottish & French ancestry. Recently I made the mistake of trying life in the drug-riddled West Coast of this country. USA is a better country than Canada when it comes to job opportunities/businesses. My uncle, who is a chef, moved to Toronto and was struggling to find a job that would pay him well enough. He then moved to NY state and within one year he was able to open his own restaurant. His finance has increased by leaps and bounds and now he runs three restaurants and already became a US citizen. Immigration might be easier in Canada, but if you get a chance to work and live in the US, you'll reap much bigger rewards for the efforts you're willing to put there.

I’m a Canadian Citizen through my parent since age 5 years old and has lived in Canada almost of my life getting tired of how the system worked, deep down it’s like socialism system through the world it’s a greater country to visit but to live and raise your family it’s really a struggle almost in any aspects of area . Even though I’m working as a nursing field I realized Canada it’s really tough on work employment really discrimination etc….I’m here in USA so much freedom and life seems much decent living as long you know how to narrow it and live a peaceful life . We no longer have a country due to truddies open border policy. Anyone anywhere can be called a Canadian citizen it no longer has meaning or distinction.

After nearly 13 years as of Jan 1st 2022, I'll be leaving Canada on a one-way ticket; not to my country of origin, but further into new ventures.\n\nIt's been a slog to become a citizen and try and make life work here. It's a good place to be successful financially if you make sound choices, and then to live a fairly quiet, isolated life. If all you want is to live within your own ethnic community and have a better quality of life, it's a good place.\n\nUnfortunately, it's never had enough culture or meaning for me. Life feels pretty empty no matter how much money you make. The national identity being based around home-ownership feels extremely depressing to me.\n\nAnd you're both on point about the reserved, passive-aggressive nature of Canadians. I've become like that too now. It's pretty obvious that it costs us dearly; people are unable to be genuinely warm, to take risks and form real friendships. Everything feels surface-level because no one risks taking the steps that might even be a bit of intrusion into each other's lives that is the signal of the start of a close friendship. I'm sick of the surface relationships I've had here.\n\nAnd the wholesale import of U.S. narratives with complete ignorance of our own realities. Most Canadians think they live in the U.S. and seem unable to name a single important issue in their own province or country. I moved to Canada ?? in 2016 , in Winnipeg Manitoba which has freezing ? temperature in winter . Canada is massive even I face problems but I was flexible and I changed my career I was working and studying and I paid less fees same like Canadian citizen coz I came permanent resident . Some fields have more income and taxes but you will get benefits depending . Every country has problems and challenges but I love Canada ??. I did my home work in my home country. I have more Canadian friends then from my country. Love ❤️ you Canada ??.

I'm currently planning to immigrate to Canada. As for me, the very reason why I want to move there is to have better life. There are some great points mentioned to this video but for some cases, most especially if you talk about other underpriviledge countries, Canada is much more better. I'm from the Philippines and I would say that our country is suffering from everything. High price of goods, salary for CAD375 minimum (for a month even you're bachelor degree holder), no health benefits (unless you are working in a private company that offers benefits), no educational benefits (I would consider scholarship but that wouldn't enough to survive in every semester that you'll take). Senior Citizens / PWD that only gets benefit from their 20% discount in every purchase they make for medicine and food and seniors sometimes didn't get their pensions... so on and so forth.\n\nI think, it all boils down from what country you came from and differences of the gov't system that they have. And all of us needs to work hard to get a better life. It will always depends on our decision on what lifestyle do you choose or how do you live your life or what life do you want to live.\n\nBut to conclude this, this is a great video. This a great heads up for those who wants to come to Canada.

Canada has always been great mystery for me, as an outsider looking in. This is a country with one of the strongest immigration programs in the world. Yet the population is a measley 30 million plus. How come? Then this video explains why. People tend to leave after becoming citizens. Canada is the second largest country in the world. With a First World economy yet the U. S. has grown ten time faster in terms of population growth.

The question is can I live in India and get a job and a house and a car ? No way , they are everywhere and they don't accept no one to live in their country , I can't even own a house in India without Indian citizen approval , is this not racist ?

It is still dangerous because there is so much hatred across the world against us as we are coming to understand. And hatred is unpredictable. It comes in different ugly shapes. \n\nAfrican descent people are institutionally exposed to a lack of opportunities based on race, leading to the disproportionate poverty levels in our communities, and poverty brings your far closer to crime. That should not be so difficult to calculate. We're faced with higher mortality and disease rates, covid 19 has rubbed that to our eyes, care systems medical world is in less favour and neglect black communities. On a day-to-day, I am so insulted about the security guard that follows me in the shop, it is so disrespectful and embarrassing, that makes me move suspiciously indeed, yet so low and ignorant I don't even want to have to confront the issue. \n\nI agree with the writer who writes about his experience (and shame?) of being a black man in Canada- the same is institutionally reflected in Europe and across the world let's not be naive, we're not welcome but they should know they have no choice. I know we have some people here in Canada , Ontario i have seen it all. We have our amount of unstable citizens. But i heard a person coming to me and saying the FBI was after him. I laughed because i know the Federal of Investigation can not come into Cnanada without the approval of the RCMP. And even then they have to work together. RCMP can kick the FBI out of our country at any given time if they see they are compying to our canadian laws. Just remeber RCMP is our FBI.

Canada is the most prejudice country in North America. Ask any Canadian citizen who is Asian living in Canada and ask if they’re treated second class citizens.

I am a South Asian, living in Toronto for past 20 years. I work in IT industry and I have never felt racism at my work place. All my colleagues and superior were very nice to me and I always felt that Canada is a better place than country of my birth. But I am not black, so I have not had same experience. I think best thing for all minorities is to be a model citizen and be a winner in life. Everybody likes winner.

EVERY Country has immigration laws. You can’t just walk into any country you want and instantly be granted the same benefits as citizens and legal immigrants. It doesn’t work that way in Canada, USA or any other country for that matter.

People are just overreacting about this, there are way worse crimes and fraud being committed right now in Canada. He’s just bringing rich people to Canada, that means more money is coming in to the country and no citizen is being hurt or affected in the process. These rich people are actually adding value$$ to the nation, not subtracting. They’re not getting benefits and a bunch other free things “benefits” the poor want, instead they’re injecting capital into the market.

actually, the best way to get them punished is to turn them into the Chinese authority. As long as they have the Chinese identity card, which in this case, most of the clients does, they will get a 3 YEAR or less JAIL TIME just by faking immigration stamps. That's a country with Death penalty still in application, folks. And according to local law, if you violate Chinese law in ANY country, as long as you are a citizen, you are subject to persecution, tough.

I’m a dual citizen of US and Canada. For me a big cultural difference is that Americans are raised thinking they’re the greatest country in the world and Canadians take pride in being peacekeepers and our multicultural mosaic (rather than melting pot).

People don’t understand the reasons why people flee their home countries in the first place. They’re seeking refuge from public threats that their governments have failed countless time to crack down on. My grandparents and my own mother came here from Mexico illegally, but they eventually became naturalized US citizens through hard work, hope and determination. They left because of the rampant crime and violence taking place in the streets of Monterrey, Nuevo León. I was born here in this country in 2003, by sheer fortune alone. But that couldn’t have been possible if my family didn’t sacrifice all they had, just to be able to feel safe. It’s not lack of security, it’s lack of compassion and being able to understand what other humans go through. Fear-mongering and generalization of a certain group is atrocious, and should by no means be tolerated. Only through fair evaluation and hard work should a person be judged.

This happens all around the world, in the USA the Cubans are well known within Hispanic community that they (Cubans) once they get the LPR (Green Card) they leave the US and go back to Cuba for more time the immigration law allows to be out of the country as a LPR (six months) meanwhile they claim SSA without have a real presence in the country, without work record, then relatives get the welfare benefits (money) and send it to Cuba this way this well educated citizens pay their expenses without working also happens with South Americans.\nThis is a real problem that it looks like the government do nothing to fix it.

I heartly want west to suffer from first hand experience of what Islam actually then these western secular enthusiasts who claim that islamophobia is against pluralism will realise that islamopbhobia is actually a weapon used by muslim-liberal nexus to kill any criticism of Islam. There’s a common saying which states that the difference between Canadians and Americans is that “while Americans side with their fellow citizens against the government, Canadians side with their government against their fellow citizens.” This is stereotype is the best explanation as to why Canada can’t see to develop a viable market economy or compete with other nations on innovations in STEM or the arts. The problem with Canada is that it never developed a culture outside of “not being American” and the result is that their government has been allowed to grow to an enormous size and basically strangle all of the talent out of the country. Canada, despite the fact that it’s an English speaking country on the North American continent, is virtually nothing like America is any sense of the term, and actually has more in common with Scandinavia than it does with the country that borders it’s south.

Due to too many unhappy citizens of many lands, most productive, constructive countries are over- flooding with other nations peoples. It’s too much. When a person goes somewhere other than their own land less and less of these countries are willing to allow any more refugees in their country. Why because it’s about economics. In economic in an economy all things must be paid for. This is an Democratic society, almost all things are available through businesses. The medium of exchange for all ‘goods and services ‘ are conducted through the means of money. The masses of our nations people are not wealthy. Which most indulge themselves in employment. Employment in exchange for hours of pay we get paid.!The person most quailed to be employed are the citizens of these nations and not other nations people. What I am saying is that each land is more interested in their own home grown employee. So when you the non resident come without our permission you are the one placing yourself and your family in peril. Which means you are responsible for the pain and losses you suffer do to you either misunderstandings or non-available knowledge. Work towards asking for a better government for your own home land. And less people will be disappointed when you are rejected from lands who are already too filled !

I've been through this system not me but I've looked it all up and yes if somebody wants to come here to America on a visa somebody hast to be willing to take care of them. But when somebody crosses the border that has no one here We pay for them. When Cuba had that hurricane all those people came here because they had nowhere to live they are citizens but yeah that's what you would call a refugee
