So let me get this straight...........somehow, your PM's virtue signaling that Canada is an open paradise for immigrants, who come by the 10's of thousands only to loose all their money in legal fees an be denied is more virtuous than the U.S. saying do not come here illegally and wanting to build a wall? So Canada is allowed to enforce their immigration laws and the U.S. IS NOT? There is a simple solution here.. go back to your home country, you are not breaking the law by being there. If you want to move to the U.S. or Canada, apply to move there legally. Not sure why this is so difficult for people to understand, it is not that damn complicated.

Two years ago I went on my church's annual week-long missions trip to Guatemala and absolutely hated the fact that I couldn't understand what people were saying around me. I immediately started studying Spanish so I could go back without fretting myself into fits over not being able to communicate. If I can learn Spanish for an annual trip, he and others like him can learn English when they come to stay in the U.S.

The way you need to do these things is not to show up on the border, but to apply from where you are. He started by being illegal in the U.S., rather than actually applying for entry as a refugee. Then, years later, he showed up on the border of Canada, again without first applying. All nations must have laws that are enforced, else you have anarchy. Anarchists may believe this is a good thing, but nobody is safe in a state of anarchy. So, this man and his family now have a problem because he did not follow the rules.

Seems like a devoted Dad and a willing worker...but if he had the money, why not enter the U.S. legally? Immigration has ALWAYS been hard but many people make life more difficult when they don't understand a country's laws and/or fail to follow those laws. I know a man who came to the USA with $50 and managed to work and send money to his wife and then one day he wrote to his wife to say he couldn't send any more money because he was buying a bakery. Then he sent for her and they raised two sons, worked very hard in his little business, sent his sons to a private university. They followed the law and all are successful now. I also know a man from Colombia who came to the USA legally and a U.S. businessman saw how diligently he worked and helped him start a business. The American dream works. More than 720,000 new citizens were sworn in recently (in 2016, if my memory is correct).
