Montreal is Canada's second largest city after Toronto and both cities are actually very similar. You do need French to survive but you can get away without it especially in downtown Montreal because most people are perfectly bilingual. Our metro (subway) is the third busiest subway in North America after Toronto and New York. The city itself is very vibrant and ethnically diverse. Unlike Vancouver or even Toronto, there are always activities to attend especially in the summer. Most of our music festivals tend to be free except for Osheaga which is the Canadian Coachella!

Well, you are lucky you can go to the US to drown out all of your problems, in Iraq the healthcare is bad, the education system is bad (especially in public school where kids get hit.) and the people are not nice. Here is a lot of harassment and discrimination, especially from employers and stores, they always do this specially to minorities and racialized communities, one time i was at shoppers and a lady told the supervisor: “be careful with that guy, he is stealing” so the supervisor followed the man all over the store, but the lady that told the supervisor to be careful with the guy, ran away from the store and the alarm sounded, apparently she was the one stealing, ah and she was a white woman of course

When I get racially profiled in a store especially food stores I fill my basket to the brim and drop it at the feet of the person following me. Done! that should give them some thinking time replacing food items all over the store.

I live in Vancouver and I believe I was experiencing racism while looking for a placed to live. I was asked over the phone If I was Chinese, I said no and the person said that's what they were looking for. Or when I went to look at a suite and the person was east Indian and they ghosted me after seeing what I look like which happened a few times. This makes it hard to find a place to live in Vancouver considering the high population of Asian home owners. I think it may have been different while looking for apartments. This can happen to white people as well especially in a diverse city.

Many Lower Class U.S citizens who do want to move for better job oppertunites for skill working who want to move to Canada. There is an issue for many. That is Canada is backwards on the helping those with disability and getting assistance or help for any disability. Those coming to Canada if husband, wife or child has a disability they will discriminate against them, especially if the person was on SSDI or SSI. If your husband/wife, fiance/fiancee has disability but you have duel citizenship between U.S and U.K they make it hard for prospective significant other that is on SSDI or SSI from coming to Canada with you and see them even if they were Self-Employed in U.S as a financial burden. Many I know have dealt with this stigmatizing by Canada over a disability significant other so they live in Canada but work in U.S to keep from Financial struggle Canada puts on them for daring to fall in love with a disabled significant other reguardless where the disabled significant other is from which is very, very sad.

Australia is also a multicultural country. Some racism exist but not much to be concerned of. However, stereotyping does exist, especially with aboriginal people. It is sad, but truth. I don't know why but I guess it is related to the history of the country itself. And I think this also happens to other places i.e. America (as a continent), aboriginal people become marginal.\nI hope those will pass... :(

I went to both public and private schools in quebec. In public schools there was a huge amount of racism, especially from the French Canadians. Private schools were a lot better.

I worked for Wal-Mart for 16yrs and they are full of sh.t! They are races that 0 tolerance crap is so they don't get more lawsuits than they can handle. I have experienced security guards walking back and forth between the aisles staring at me in London and other parts of England, much more so than in the US. I am black, and the weird thing is that some of the security guards have been black and dark-skinned like me. I got tired of it, and now when it happens I wave to them and say hello. Sometimes, when I'm feeling especially brave and frustrated, and when they walk close to me, I ask them if they're watching me and tell them, 'Don't worry. I don't steal.' It's satisfying to see the embarrassed and uncomfortable looks on their faces.
