I left Canada in 1985. My grandparents were Canadian born, but I could see the trend in the 80’s when the first waves of Chinese were welcome to move to Canada with money, buy real estate, business interests, and provide tax dollars for a Government that was addicted to spending and would never satisfy their Liberal agenda, with the tax revenue alone from hard working, productive Canadians. I have never regretted my move, and have watched Canada sell citizenship and resident status to anyone with the cash. You reap what you sow. Canada has become a country of mutts, while a relatively small and declining population of native born Canadians pay high taxes, deal with crime and the raging drug crisis, fuelled by foreign immigrants who will never really put Canada first. Why should they? The Government has set an example of National prostitution, that begins with open borders and ends in despair.

When it comes to housing, Canada copied the worst parts of American suburbia. Zoning laws prevent density and public transit is almost non existent with people being dependent on petro. The United States has many of the same problems as Canada at a local and state level. The federal government can't do much to stop it. They need to decrease immigrantion while building more density to help smooth this out, but even the average Canadian has NIMBYISM that Trudeau can't fix.

As a immigrant who recently got Canadian citizenship, I would like to clear few things here. I noticed that the host of the show has some wrong perception in his mind for international students. I agree that the basic jobs should be allocated to the young population or elderly population and international student should sustain themselves, but on the other hand why don't' the colleges charge the same fees that they charge to domestic applicants ?...the international students pays 5X to 10X the fees that the local student pays for the same courses. Also, when the student applies for visa they already pay 20000K to a Canadian bank for the future monthly payments that they will get so sustaining is not a problem. most of these students work so that they can contribute to the 5X fees that they have to pay. Also, when it comes to skill, the students skills are assessed by the universities and colleges and only after that they come to Canada. If you see an immigrant working in Tim Hortons or Food basics, don't worry he will be out of there in 2 years to a high paying skillful job that local population won't do. Now, when I say all this the immigration problem is real, but it is not because of the student who comes here, pays higher fees and than work in Canada, pay higher taxes and contribute to GDP and economy. your problem is with refugees and immigrants who are brought in mass immigration, who does not have skills. Because this is the population which you brought with to match the labor shortage but can not work so you provide them subsidies, assistance etc. and dig a hole in government funds...…now for the host he seems to have an agenda against Indian immigrants in particularly. The Carbon Tax on gas in Canada TOOOOTALLY makes sense, but ONLY when we have viable alternatives for driving across all driving distances at all times. Which we do not. New transit projects are always faced with pushback and slowdowns from within the government itself even, and our zoning laws make it so we can only have single family detached homes which sprawls everything so far out that driving is the ONLY realistic transit method. \n\nThis carbon tax does nothing, the reason you implement one on gas is to persuade people into taking an alternative transportation method if you can, OR to source funding for transit programs so that people can ACTUALLY HAVE the option of an alternative. But in Canada? You already know that money is only going to go into maintaining and adding lanes to roadways.

So thankful to the United States for giving me the opportunity to leave Canada and pursue a better life here. I moved in my mid-20s and couldn't be happier with my decision. It always surprises me how few young Canadians consider this but just put up with their worsening living conditions in Canada. Brampton is Indian Punjabi majority city. India has many religions and cultures but majority in Brampton are from Punjab region of India mostly Sikh and Hindu. For last 2 years, lot of students came from India and most likely they will return to India after studies are done. As an immigrant living in Seattle, I sometimes compare with Vancouver, BC. US limits a number of H1B visas and PRs per nationality so things are not as extreme as Canada. My friend lives in White Rock BC......On a recent visit I felt like I was in my old town of Fremint, California.....The majority of people weren't born in North America but from the same area of the globe. We went to eat @ his favorite restaurant and it had changed to Indian cusine. Many people might ask how the Liberal government issued so many study and work visas to young Indians, who don't have any particularly outstanding qualifications. It is because they allowed colleges to accept students and some of these colleges were created for the sole purpose of collecting high tuition fees, which wealthy Indians gladly paid for as it gave them a chance to live in Canada and apply for permanent residency. Trudeau (like Harper, incidentally) wanted to win Brampton and the surrounding areas so as to be able to form a government. These ridings could easily flip to Conservative, unlike others in Quebec or BC. Voters in these battleground areas were believed to be willing to vote Liberal, if they could have some representation in Ottawa, especially in cabinet. Even as a member of this diaspora, I think courting this population like this was a huge mistake. \n\nIn the post-war II period, the immigrants that came from Canada, were highly qualified, scientists, engineers, architects -- you name it, that had jobs waiting for them at universities and tech firms. If they were students, they came into Ph.D. programs fully supported with stipends. This generation helped Canada tremendously and made Canada a leader in crop science and microbiology research, just to name an example. Today, many here on student visas are working at Tim's or delivering Amazon packages, or even driving trucks without proper training.
